Shark: 500 LP
Quattro: 1500 LP
Shark's field: Number 32: Shark Drake
Quattro's field: Number 40: Gimmick Puppet of Strings, String of Destiny
Shark was still lying flat on the ground after Quattro's last attack, not moving.
Yuma: Shark, wake up! I gotta help him Astral. Can you do something about these chains?
Vetrix: Sorry Yuma, but those chains are made from power from Barian World, so only I can break them. And right now, I want you out of the way. Hahahaha!
Astral: Barian? That was in the name of the spell Troy used to summon his Chaos Number. Are he and Vetrix somehow connected?
Quattro: Get up Shark. I won't accept a surrender, so get up and duel.
Shark rolled onto his back and the piece of darkness Shark Drake left in him glowed.
Shark Drake: Shark.
Shark: You again.
Shark Drake: It's time Shark. Let me enter your mind and soul. Let me take hold.
Shark: No chance. I'm in control, and that's how it's going to stay.
Yuma: Stand up Shark! You have to keep fighting!
Shark groaned and managed to stand up.
Yuma: Are you okay?
Shark: I'm not sure.
Tori: Shark doesn't look so good.
Astral: The number is trying to possess Shark again.
Shark Drake: Accept me and we will be unstoppable. Together we will defeat your foe. Do not deny yourself the revenge you have long desired. Allow me to take hold of you.
Shark: I'll never join you, never! I draw! And I activate the continuous spell Different Dimension Deepsea Trench! With it, I can banish Shark Drake from my field!
Yuma: Why would he do that?
Astral: By banishing Shark Drake, he can not only stave off the number's influence, but also avoid taking damage from Gimmick Puppet of String's special ability.
Yuma: Sweet move Shark!
Shark: I set a monster face-down and end my turn!
Quattro: Not a bad move Shark. But don't forget that Gimmick Puppet of Strings is equipped with String of Destiny. If I send a level 2 or higher monster to the grave with its effect, this duel will be mine.
Vetrix: Except if you fail to send a monster to the graveyard, you forfeit your battle phase and could wind up falling flat on your face like Yuma.
He snapped his fingers and the chains on Yuma vanished, causing him to fall to the ground.
Vetrix: As I was saying, you've left your ability to attack Shark entirely up to chance.
Quattro: Well I believe luck is on my side.
Vetrix: Leaving your fate to fortune is the path of a fool. I on the other hand do not prescribe to relying on luck. You cling to your silly feelings and apply none of the strategy your brothers do. You are simply raw emotion.
Quattro: You're wrong!
Vetrix: See, you just proved my point. You should be approaching this duel strategically. But I'm not even sure you're capable of doing that.
Quattro: You know what, I think I know why you've got a problem with me. You resent the fact that I don't grovel to you like my brothers, and sure I may talk back, but I'm just as loyal as they are! Father! You always greeted us with a warm smile and all the love you had in your heart. Our hearts shattered when we thought we lost you, and when you came back, we thought maybe we could be a family again, but you're not the same person who disappeared. All you care about is your revenge on Dr. Faker! We all did terrible things in the hope that once you had your revenge you would go back to being our father. I even attacked Shark's sister.
Yuma: So that's why Shark wants to beat Quattro so badly.
Shark: You're pathetic. I don't care if Vetrix was calling the shots, you're still paying for what you did to me and my sister.
Quattro: You can try and collect, but you're gonna be walkin' away empty-handed! And once you're out of the way, I'll see to it that Dr. Faker gets what's coming to him. Once Faker is defeated, maybe my brothers and I will get our real father back. You can count on that Vetrix.
Vetrix: The only thing I can count on you and your brothers for is failure. The only thing I can rely on are things that got me back to this world: myself and Barian World.
Quattro: I'll show you! I draw! And now I attack with Gimmick Puppet of Strings, which activates the effect of String of Destiny!
Astral: It all comes down to this.
Quattro: You're through Shark!
He revealed the top card of his deck, but was shocked to see his Level Doubler spell.
Quattro: No!
Astral: It would appear luck was not on his side.
Yuma: Since it was a spell card, his battle phase ends before he can attack.
Quattro: Maybe so, but I have other plans. I summon Gimmick Puppet Scissor Arms in attack mode!
Level 4/Dark/Machine
ATK 1200/DEF 600
Quattro: And now I activate his special ability. By destroying an equip card, his level doubles, so I'm destroying String of Destiny!
Scissor Arms: Level 4-8
Astral: Strange. If he had summoned Scissor Arms and activated that effect before starting his battle phase, he could've attacked with both monsters and won the duel.
Yuma: Maybe he just forgot?
Vetrix: I warned Quattro to approach this rationally, but he didn't listen and lost the chance to attack. Fortunately, he has one final trick up his sleeve.
Quattro: I sacrifice Gimmick Puppet of Strings to special summon Gimmick Puppet Nightmare from my hand!
Level 8/Dark/Machine
ATK 1000/DEF 2000
Quattro: This card can be special summoned by sacrificing an xyz monster I control, and since I summoned him this way, he counts as two monsters when I xyz summon! I overlay my level 8 Scissor Arms and Nightmare! With these monsters, I build the overlay network and xyz summon!
Yuma: He has another xyz monster?
Quattro: Rise, Number 88: Gimmick Puppet of Leo!
Rank 8/Dark/Machine
ATK 3200/DEF 2300
Astral: This does not bode well for Shark.
Quattro: I activate Gimmick Puppet of Leo's special ability! I can remove one of his overlay units every turn, and when I remove all of them using his effect, I win the duel.
Astral: With that effect, Quattro will win on his next turn.
Yuma: That can't be. Shark can't lose to this guy.
Astral: His situation is precarious. Shark must somehow destroy Gimmick Puppet of Leo to avoid defeat.
Shark: This can't be happening. I was so close to getting my revenge, and now it's slipping away. I've got to do something!
Vetrix: Ohhh, Shark.
Shark: What do you want?
Vetrix: You know I happen to see a way out of this for you. Simply approach this sticky situation the way Quattro never could: strategically.
Quattro: Stay out of this Vetrix! I don't need you helping Shark find a way to beat me.
Vetrix: You already lost. You're useless to me. Your role in my designs has ended. Congratulations, you did an adequate job. I'll take it from here Quattro. I have no further need for you.
Quattro: But Vetrix-
Vetrix: Shark, we both know you can't walk away from this duel a loser, so do what needs to be done. Unless of course you no longer care about getting even with Quattro.
Shark: No, I will have my revenge!
Vetrix: Splendid. I'm glad we're on the same page then. That rage makes you ideal to do my bidding.
Shark: Quiet! I'm not helping you!
The fragment of darkness in his chest glowed again, causing Shark some pain.
Yuma: Shark!
Shark: What's wrong with me?
Vetrix: It seems that Shark Drake wants to get your attention. You know what you have to do to win. Summon Shark Drake.
Shark: No!
Vetrix: He's calling you. Stop fighting it and defeat Quattro once and for all.
Shark: I must have revenge.
Yuma: Don't give in Shark!
Shark: This duel, this is my one chance.
Yuma: No Shark! Fight the number! You've got to fight it!
Shark: From the moment Quattro showed up in my life, he's been messing it up! Ever since then, I've dreamed of only one thing: to get revenge on him! If I can finally get that, nothing else matters. I must defeat Quattro! It's the only way this can end! Now I know what I must do.
Vetrix: Then do it.
Shark: My turn. I draw! And I'll start my turn by flip summoning my Deep Sweeper!
Level 4/Water/Fish
ATK 1600/DEF 1300
Shark: And now I activate its special ability! By sacrificing Deep Sweeper, my Deepsea Trench spell is destroyed, which means Shark Drake returns to the field!
Rank 4/Water/Sea Serpent
ATK 2800/DEF 2300
Tori: Shark Drake is back?
Yuma: And badder than ever.
Astral: This move could have dire consequences for Shark.
Quattro: Go ahead and bring him back, he's no match for Leo.
Shark: Correction, he's no match for Leo yet.
Quattro: Say what?
Shark: You heard me. My next move is the beginning of your end. The time has come for Shark Drake to evolve!
Yuma: Did he say evolve?
Astral: What is Shark planning?
Shark's eyes began glowing red as his body emitted a purple aura.
Shark: Go Chaos Xyz Evolution! Rise, Chaos Number 32: Shark Drake Veiss!
Rank 4/Water/Sea Serpent
ATK 2800/DEF 2300
Yuma: Shark Drake became a chaos number?
Astral: First Troy, and now Shark? How is this possible?
Vetrix: Very well done Shark. I just knew you were the right choice for this.
Quattro: No way!
Shark: I activate Shark Drake Veiss' special ability! I use one chaos overlay unit to banish a shark monster from my graveyard, and then your Gimmick Puppet of Leo loses attack points equal to the attack of the monster I banished, and I'm banishing Submersible Carrier Aero Shark!
A portal opened above the lava, and Aero Shark rose out of it before ramming into Gimmick Puppet of Leo.
Leo: 3200-1300 ATK
Quattro: What?!
Shark: Now Shark Drake Veiss, attack his Gimmick Puppet of Leo! Go, Chaos Stream!
Shark Drake fired a beam of energy from its mouth at Leo, tearing straight through it.
Quattro: 0 LP
Winner: Shark
Yuma: Shark won.
Vetrix: Excellent dueling. Well done.
Shark: Vetrix.
Vetrix: You are truly worthy of taking down Faker.
Shark: Wrong. You're the only one I'm taking down. You're gonna regret messing with me, that's a promise.
Vetrix: Such enthusiasm, I like that, but you see you and I are not meant to duel yet.
Shark: Face me you coward!
Shark ran towards Vetrix, but he just disappeared along with the field spell.
Shark: Where'd he go?
Quattro: Shark, I'm sorry. About everything.
Shark: Yeah right, after everything you've pulled?
Quattro: You have to believe me. It was all because of Vetrix. I never should've followed his orders, but I did. When I dueled your sister, Vetrix ordered me to use a powerful card. It caused a huge fire, and it was because of that card that she got hurt. I felt horrible about what happened, I even saved her from the fire. That's how I got this scar on my face. But I deserve it. I never meant to hurt her, but I did. You have to believe me, Shark.
Tori: I believe you.
Yuma: You're the reason she escaped the fire in one piece.
Quattro: Yes, but the fire happened because of me. They were my actions, so if you're going to hate me, go ahead, because I deserve it. But please, stop Vetrix and bring my real father back.
Yuma: Quattro.
Quattro: When you bring him back, tell him my brothers and I will be waiting for him to rejoin us as a family.
A portal opened up beneath him and he vanished. Shark then turned around and began walking to his coaster car.
Yuma: Wait Shark. Didn't you hear what Quattro said? Are you gonna help us take down Vetrix or not? Hey! Are you listening?
Shark: Yeah, now you listen Yuma. I'm going after Vetrix regardless of Quattro, because that creep needs to learn to never mess with me or my sister.
Yuma: But Shark.
Shark didn't respond and just got into his car and left.
Yuma: Shark is dueling for the wrong reason. I just wish I could talk some sense into him. Dueling's not about revenge.
Astral: Yuma, perhaps your actions will speak louder than your words will. If you follow your instincts, then others will follow your lead.
Yuma: You're right, and I know I'm on the right path, so watch out, 'cause there's no stopping me!
