Routine

7 A.M...

As it neared 7 A.M on the naval base, Kaga woke up without an alarm as she always does. Quickly but quietly, she stored her futon in the closet without waking Akagi and Amagi. The last thing she wants is to worsen Amagi's already poor health. After brushing her teeth and grooming her tail, she prepared breakfast for all of them.

"Hmm, what to make..." she quietly mused.

The fridge was stocked, though it was always the same thing. But the three of them were never picky or very materialistic to begin with. Settling on grilled fish, steamed rice, and miso soup, she prepped the meal with speed and precision. Within 30 minutes, she prepared and finished her meal, enjoying a cup of green tea before going out. Despite the time, many were already milling about, Fusou and Yamashiro were leading morning prayer at the shrine outside the Sakura Empire dorm. To get her day truly started, she starts a patrol beginning with a direction chosen at random from the central plaza. As per usual, the patrol turned up nothing other than a small report for a rusted lock on a gate. With patrol out of the way, she was looking forward to the training grounds. She spent countless sleepless nights here, or to vent her frustration as she is now. Why is she frustrated today? The Commander turned down Akagi again which made her feel depressed like all the times before. Being Akagi's other half wasn't easy, having to deal with her mood swings and anger. But she wants to because she knows she would do the same for her. She angrily struck a dummy made of hardened steel, making her hand ache dully.

"Stupid Shikikan-Sama..."

Meanwhile...

"AHHHHHHHH!" rang out a scream.

From a rift that opened up from the sky, a girl fell through to the ground. She tumbled down a few branches and other things as she fell into a forest. Landing with an "umph" sound, she picks herself up and brushes off the branches and leaves.

"Geez, why did they have to mess up the location?" the girl frustratingly asked no one.

"Of all the times to mess up, why did it have to be me. Ugh, ok calm down, Dad asked me to find either him or Mom... Um, maybe Dad would be the better choice, he said his office is in the command building."

Remembering her 'mission' as it were, she looked around to see where she was.

"Seems like the forest near the training ground, then the command building should be... there!"

With her resolve back, she made her way to the office. The rest of the naval base wasn't as peaceful as this place, she enjoyed nature for a few minutes until an authoritative voice called out to her.

"It seems like one of the Siren elites came here to cause some trouble. Isn't that right, Purifier?" a voice of a woman said to her.

A while back with Kaga...

Continuing to her merciless assault on the dummy, Kaga's frustration lessened more and more. Eventually leaving the dummy nothing more than a dented heap of metal, her hands now throbbing in pain. She thought back to how implementing hand-to-hand training was also a clever way to save costs while also keeping the more destructive girls happy. After all, steel was cheap and easy to produce, if one breaks then it can be melted and recast into a new one. The story was that one of the groups sent out on commissions a year ago came back with nothing and a few injuries. The group was a bunch of destroyers and Edinburgh as the flagship. They spotted a few mass produced Siren ships on patrol a few miles off course. Orders were either to engage if necessary or go on, being destroyers that rarely see action, Edinburgh was outvoted. It was going well until a portal opened up behind the fleet and Siren runts rushed them. Being destroyers, the Sirens weren't afraid to get up close for a brawl. They couldn't use their guns as it could hurt them, so Edinburgh ordered a retreat. In turn, Edinburgh told the Commander and he came up with an idea, a simple one. The idea was to make melee combat mandatory for destroyers but optional for the older girls. The next day, he announced it to everyone at the academy gym at the protests and groans of many destroyers. Though the others were more indifferent and passive about it. Though they would definitely put that training to good use. She was broken out of her thoughts when a scream above her drew her attention. In the sky, a Siren-esque rift opened up and a figure with a striking resemblance to Purifier fell towards the forest floor. Acting upon her instincts, she activates her rigging and rushes to where "Purifier" fell.

Back to "Purifier" and Kaga...

"It seems like one of the Siren elites came here to cause some trouble. Isn't that right, Purifier?" Kaga asked.

The voice gave "Purifier" shivers as her body locked and seized up. She knows that any sudden or suspicious movements would mean her end.

Kaga stood there with her rigging while looking at the girl, she noticed that "Purifier" was a lot shorter than she remembered. Shorter than half her height actually.

"You have two options. One, I kill you and dispose of you. Two, choose to live and hand over any useful information and data you have of your kind." Kaga stated coldly, the girl's body starting to tremble.

She put up her hands in surrender before turning around. Kaga was expecting to see bright, vibrant yellow eyes and a manic and cheery smile. But was instead greeted with dull yellowish brown eyes full of fear and a trembling smile.

"I- I'll choose op-option two p-please." she stammered out before fainting from her injuries.
