Everyone was in shock at what their mysterious new visitor said.
Yuma: You're from Barian World? And you want to destroy Astral World?
Barian: That is correct, and I will not let anything or anyone interfere with the completion of my mission.
A red glow enveloped Dr. Faker, and when it faded, his armor had been enhanced and he had a crest like the one on Troy's Barian card on his forehead.
Barian: Much better. Now I have an unpleasant surprise for you. When Heart-eartH Dragon is destroyed while it has no overlay units, it resummons itself to the field. But that's not all, because now he gains 1000 attack points for every banished card.
Heart-eartH: 0-4000 ATK
Kite: Are you kidding me?
Barian: And since Heart-eartH Dragon was special summoned, your Neo Galaxy-Eyes is forced into defense mode.
Kite: I place one card face-down and end my turn. Grr!
He dropped to his knees again as he felt his energy drain.
Yuma: Kite!
Barian: His misery will soon end. In fact, none of you will survive this turn. I draw! And I activate the continuous spell Barian's Gateway! Every time one of your cards is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, you will receive 800 points of damage!
Yuma: Not good.
Shark: Think quick. We only have 100 life points left.
Barian: Too late. Heart-eartH Dragon will strike your monster down, ending this duel and your last chance to oppose my plans. Attack Neo Galaxy-Eyes with Heartbreak Cannon!
Heart-eartH Dragon fired a ball of energy from its mouth straight at Neo Galaxy-Eyes.
Troy: They're done for!
Kite: Not yet we're not. I activate the trap Photon Escape! This card banishes Neo Galaxy-Eyes and ends your battle phase!
Neo Galaxy-Eyes vanished just before the attack landed.
Barian: You have only delayed your inevitable defeat. You may have escaped the damage, but since there is another card banished, Heart-eartH Dragon gains another 1000 attack points.
Heart-eartH: 4000-5000 ATK
Kite: I can't give up.
Yuma: But you're not well.
Kite: I don't care. If you want to take my little brother, you're going to have to go through me first! Do you hear me?! Hart!
Kite's shout awakened Hart from his daze.
Hart: Kite?
Kite: I activate the effect of Dimension Wanderer from my hand! Since a monster was banished, I can send this card to the graveyard to deal you damage equal to the combined attack points of two banished monsters of my choice. I choose Neo Galaxy-Eyes and Shark Drake Veiss!
Shark: With that, Kite can deal 7300 points of damage and end the duel!
Barian: I don't think so. I activate the other effect of Barian's Gateway! By sending this card to the graveyard, your monster's effect is negated, so I'm taking no damage.
Kite: He blocked us again.
Just then, Kite and Shark both dropped to the floor, panting for breath.
Yuma: Guys!
Barian: I place one card face-down and end my turn. Only you stand in my way now, Yuma Tsukumo, but not for much longer. Your friends are down and your field is empty. You are fated for destruction, just like Astral World!
Yuma: No! We've come too far!
Hart: Yuma and Kite are trying their best to save me, but now, I must try to save them.
Hart's body began to emit a multi-colored light, drawing everyone's attention.
Barian: What are you doing?
Kite: Hart!
Astral: That power…
Barian: He's using the power I gave him to disrupt the Sphere Field!
The Sphere Field disconnected from the cannon and lowered into the room.
Kite: Yuma now!
Shark: This could be your only chance to free Astral!
Yuma: Alright. It's time to hi-five the sky!
He jumped back before running to the edge of the platform. When he reached the edge, he pushed off with all his might and soared through the air.
Barian: I won't let you!
He created a sphere of red energy in his hand and prepared to throw it at Yuma, but a similar sphere struck him in the arm, drawing his attention.
Barian: Who dares?
Troy: Leave my friend alone.
Yuma reached the Sphere Field and rejoined with Astral.
Astral: Now is the time.
Yuma: You bet. It's time for you and I to build the overlay network!
Astral: When two distant souls become one, the power of Zexal is revealed!
Both: Go, Zexal Morph!
A light flashed in the Sphere Field and Yuma and Astral emerged combined into Zexal.
Barian: So this is the power I heard so much about.
Yuma: This is the bond between me and Astral. We'll defend Astral World no matter what it takes. You can't win Barian. The bond we share is too strong for you to ever break. It's my turn!
Astral: A truly powerful duelist can shape the outcome of a duel. He can even create the very card he needs to draw.

The Sphere Field turned a deep red and refitted itself to the Sphere Field Cannon.
Barian: Even without Astral, the cannon now has more than enough energy to obliterate Astral World! Nothing you do can stop me from completing my plan! In a moment, Astral World will be wiped out of existence, and all of you along with it!
Yuma: That won't happen. I equip Ultimate Shield to Utopia Ray, raising his defense points by 2000!
Utopia Ray: 2000-4000 DEF
Yuma: Now I equip Utopia Ray with the spell Xyz Unity! Not only does it change him to attack mode, but it also boosts his attack points by the total attack points of my xyz monsters in defense mode!

Barian: Pointless. I activate the effect of Battle Buster, stopping your attack!
Troy: He blocked them again.
Barian: And now I activate Battle Buster's other effect! By sending it to the graveyard, your Utopia Ray must now wage battle with Heart-eartH Dragon! This is the end for you and Astral World!
Heart-eartH Dragon snatched the Sphere Field out of the cannon and fired it at Utopia Ray.
Barian: You're finished!
Yuma: You sure about that?
Barian: What?
Yuma: I activate Ultimate Shield's special ability! It negates the effect damage and increases Utopia Ray's attack points by the damage we would've received!
Utopia raised Ultimate Shield and used it to absorb the Sphere Field.
Utopia Ray: 9800-16600 ATK
Yuma: In addition, Heart-eartH Dragon's special abilities are negated!
Barian: This cannot be!
Yuma: This is the end! Utopia Ray, strike him down with Rising Sun Ultimate Slash!
Utopia Ray raised his sword and cut Heart-eartH Dragon right down the middle, sending the Barian flying and expelling him from Dr. Faker's body.

With those words, he vanished into thin air as Dr. Faker landed on the ground. The Sphere Field Cannon then began to break apart, but Hart was ejected from it, a blue aura surrounding his body as he floated down to his older brother.

His words were premature as the whole room began to fall apart, panels tearing free from the walls as explosions rocked the place.
Yuma: Tori!
Kite: Orbital, get Troy and Tori out of here!
Orbital: But what about you?
Kite: I'll be fine, just do it!
Orbital: You got it.
Just then, Dr. Faker came to his senses and looked around.
Faker: Kite, Hart?
The platform he was on crumbled away and he fell into the chasm.
Kite: Father!
Orbital then landed on the platform Kite and the others were on and set Troy and Tori down.
Kite: Orbital, take care of Hart.
Orbital: What do you-
Before he could finish his question, Kite set Hart down and dove after his father.
Hart: Kite, come back!
Kite: I will, but not without our father!
Yuma: Tori, look after Troy and Shark.
Shark: Good luck.
Troy: Be careful.
Yuma: Thanks. Hang on Kite, I'm on my way!
With those words, he jumped into the pit after Kite. Beneath him, Kite landed on one of the platforms and began looking for his father. He spotted his father and made his way over to him.
Kite: Hang on!
Faker: Kite.
The section of the platform he was on broke away and he began to fall, but Kite managed to grab his wrist.
Kite: I've got you.
Faker: Kite, listen. Save yourself.
Kite: Not happening. We're getting out of here together.
The platform crumbled away and they both began to fall, but Kite launched his duel anchor to try and grab something, but fortunately Yuma caught it.
Kite: Yuma!
Yuma: Hang in there! I'll pull you up!
Faker: Why are you helping me Yuma? I once betrayed your father.
Yuma: I despise what you did, but I understand you thought you were helping your son. If my dad was here, I'm sure he'd help you as well.
Faker: You are just like your father. But I don't deserve any mercy. My actions were truly unforgivable.
Vetrix: Faker. Those you wronged will be avenged.
A portal opened up behind Yuma and Vetrix stepped through.
Yuma: Vetrix?!
Meanwhile, Orbital was carrying the others out of the room.
Orbital: Hang tight folks. This could be a really rough ride.
Tori: Yuma, please be careful.
Yuma: Vetrix, don't do it. Hasn't there been enough suffering?
Faker: Please Byron, I deserve whatever vengeance you want to carry out, but Kite and Yuma are innocent. Let them go and you can settle things with me.
Kite: Father…
Yuma: Let go of your rage Vetrix.
Vetrix: I will now show you my great power!
The platform they were standing on crumbled away and they were enveloped in a blinding light. Outside Heartland Tower, everyone else had made it out safely and were gazing out at the ruins.
Tori: Don't worry you guys. I'm sure Yuma and Kite will make it out okay.
A portal then opened behind them and Yuma, Kite, and Dr. Faker appeared on the ground.
Yuma: Wait, what happened? Hey, we made it!
Tori: Yuma, you made it out?
Hart ran to his father and brother and embraced them.
Hart: I was worried I'd never see either of you again.
Kite: It's okay. We're right here.
Faker: Byron…
Flashback
Dr. Faker was floating in a vast open space when Vetrix appeared in front of him.
Faker: Byron.
Vetrix: Yes Faker.
Faker: Byron, I'm so sorry.
Vetrix: Farewell, my friend. May you and your sons find peace.
End Flashback
Faker: He really forgave me.
Yuma: By the way Troy, here's your numbers back.
Troy: Thank you Yuma, but I'm not sure I can accept them.
Yuma: What do you mean?
Troy: These numbers, I don't like the person they made me. I'll take some of them, but I want you to keep the rest, including this one.
He handed Yuma most of the numbers he'd collected, including Number 96.
Yuma: Number 96? Are you sure?
Troy: I'm positive. Until I know what my connection to the numbers are, I can't hold onto him.
Suddenly, 96's card turned black, prompting Troy to drop it. 96's avatar then appeared in front of Troy.
96: What are you doing?!
Troy: You made me lose sight of myself and who my friends are. You nearly caused me to destroy myself collecting numbers. I don't need you.
96: You are nothing without me!
96 charged at Troy, but Astral moved between them and extended his hand, absorbing Number 96 into himself.
Troy: Thank you Astral.
Astral: You are most welcome, my friend.
Troy: Yuma, I'm sorry about the things I said and did.
Yuma: It's okay. I should've told you the truth about the number.
Faker: Please forgive me, Hart. I have so much to make up for to both you and your brother. I hope that in time, we can be a true family again.
Emma: Troy!
Troy turned around and saw his sister running towards him.
Troy: Emma!
He ran to his sister, the two embracing each other as they began to cry.
Emma: I was so worried about you. Are you okay?
Troy: I'm alright. I'm so glad you're back.
Astral: It is over. Well done Yuma.
Yuma: Wait, it's not over yet! I still have to get one wish granted for winning the Duel Carnival. And for my wish, I want to have a duel against Kite! Come on, what do you say?
Astral: That sounds intriguing. This would be the Carnival's real final, Kite.
Kite: Well in that case, I say, when do we start?
Yuma: The sooner the better. And may the best duelist win.
