Chapter Thirteen:
The screams of the students were filled with suffering and despair. I tried not to dwell on the fact that I was basically torturing kids no older than me. But it was getting harder. The screaming was everywhere, and it told me the pain they were suffering was greater than any other pain. The bugs I'm using, Warrior Wasps, Tarantula Hawks, and Bullets Ants, have the most painful bugs stings. A 4.0 on the Schmidt scale. Which means they would feel this pain for hours, A DAY.
No…don't focus on it…just…inhale…breathe…and go to your team.
The only way I'll save Dinah is if I do this. Coil said himself he'd do less extreme measure if I succeeded in this. That's all I need to know to give this my all. Dinah's treatment always left me hugging my body, terrified for her. If he didn't use drugs…if he didn't abuse her. I'll beat every student here if I had to.
I walked over to Tattletale, Grue, and the rest. "I took care of everyone."
"Not everyone," Tattletale said. "Remember the metal kid? Weld?"
"Oh, right. So what do we do about him again?"
"We follow the plan," Shigaraki said over comms. "Sundancer?"
"You don't want me to come out of the portal, right?" Sundancer said over the comms.
"No, just send over your sun." Shigaraki sounded so annoyed. And for what? Because she
asked a simple question? God, he was such a fucking child.
"Ummmmm…Ok."
In a second, I felt bugs dying from the sun appearing through the portal, at the northeast corner.
The comms buzzed. "Where is Weld?" It was Sundancer.
"He's at the northwest corner," I said.
"Ok, thanks."
She made a beeline towards the direction I pointed towards. Killing all bugs, she came within 30 feet. I held my head to relieve the pain. I don't even know if that works. I just did it.
"Head hurts?" Tattletale asked.
I nodded.
"Wow, a masterful deduction, if I do say so myself." Regent bowed.
"Shut up, Regent."
"Is Panacea here?" Grue asked.
"Her head isn't hurting from Panacea. It's hurting from the mass death of her bugs."
"Really?" Grue asked.
I nodded again. "The bugs dying in mass just puts strain on my head. It'll be fine. I'll keep the bugs away from the sun."
"You took out Glory Girl?" Shigaraki asked.
"Did you attack her?" I asked back.
"I told my Nomu to sic the Blonde Queen. Wait…Did you not attack her!?"
"I don't even sense her."
"What?"
"Really. The only one I sense that is still fighting is the hardening guy."
"Which reminds me," Grue said. "Is he having trouble fighting that Nomu?"
"I actually think he made the Nomu bleed."
"Then his skin really is harder than most metals," Shigaraki said. "Hard as rocks, my ass."
"Speaking of, Bitch, sic your dogs on him, and DON'T hold back."
"Don't worry, they won't." She put venom into her voice and looked at me.
God, didn't I feel bad enough without her rubbing it in?
The dogs ran to the hardening guy. We talked about the plan beforehand. It should be easy to do it without any trouble.
"Do you really think my Nomu won't be enough?" Shigaraki said.
"It's harder to fight a beast than a human, even if you're indestructible."
"Wait," Shigaraki said. "That reminds me, what's happening with Weld?"
"My bugs can't get close to him while Sundancer's sun is there."
Shigaraki huffed. "Well, that's just great."
"You should've known that Shiggy," Tattletale said. "Plus, it doesn't matter. Sundancer can handle him. He'll melt when she cranks up the temperature."
"And you CERTAIN it won't kill him?" Grue asked. "We don't need to become hero killers."
"Sundancer won't let herself kill him. Subconscience limiting of your powers will do that to ya."
"Sounds annoying," Shigaraki said. "So, anything else?"
"No, I think that's it," I said. "Weld is dealing with the sun. The hardening guy is dealing with the dogs. Glory Girl is gone, We knocked out Clockblocker. And everyone else is dealing with the bugs."
"Then the plan is going off without a hitch," Regent said.
"You can thank me for that," Shigaraki said. "After all, without my Nomu and my plans, you'd be stuck dealing with All Might and his floozies."
"Yeah, thanks Shiggy," Tattletale said. "Let's just grab the supplies and leave."
"Already on it," Imp said. Oh, I forgot she was here. "What's up, fellas? Move on with it!"
"Ok, Imp," Grue said. His tone was a touch sarcastic. "let's go and-
What the hell?
"Wait a second…" I said. "Someone just leaped out of the bug cloud."
"What?" Tattatle asked "Who-"
"DIE!"
What the hell!?
"GET DOWN!"
I grabbed Grue and pulled him down. Tattletale moved before I even shouted. Imp and Regent ducked when I shouted.
And Bitch just looked at me…
Which means she was the first one to get hit…
But she didn't just get hit. There was an explosion. And Bitch went flying and when she landed, started coughing.
The guy that attacked, that I knew was coming with the help of my bugs, landed down and said, "THINK I GOING TO LET BUG BITES TAKE ME DOWN! YEAH RIGHT! I'M TAKING YOU LOSERS DOWN!"
"What's happening!?" Shigaraki said over comms. "What's going on!?"
"Shigaraki, you IDIOT!" Tattletale screamed. "You told us the only student that could tank the bugs was the hardening kid!"
"HE IS!"
"THEN WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!?"
"YOU THINK I NEED A HARDENING QUIRK TO SURVIVE YOUR BULLCRAP! YEAH RIGHT!"
What? What was he saying? He didn't use his quirk until now. So how?...
"Wait," Tattletale said. "You have high-pain tolerance?"
"I HAVE PURE DETERMINATION LIKE OUR TOP HEROES!" He said. "NO BUGS ARE GOING TO STOP ME! NOW DIE!"
Oh shit…
He skyrocketed towards us with his power. Using the explosion to propel himself forward. We tried leaping out the way of the explosion as he fired. But still got hit because of the wide effect. We went flying and he blasted off part of my costume. A piece of the chest plate.
Explosive hair? Explosive skin? How does it work? How do we combat it?
"IT'S EXPLOSIVE SWEAT!" Tattletale said. "HE SWEATS NITROGLYCERIN AND USES IT FOR BLASTS!"
"HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT!?" Explosion Kid asked. "ACTUALLY, DOESN'T MATTER! I'M STILL GONNA WRECK YOU!" He skyrocketed towards Tattletale, and I felt more fighting from other areas.
Oh-no…
"BITCH!" I said. "USE YOUR DOGS TO HELP TATTLETALE! SHE'LL NEVER LAST IN A FIGHT AGAINST HIM!"
"Don't tell me what to do!" Bitch said."
"JUST DO IT!" Grue added. "We're in trouble if we DON'T!"
"Why should I sacrifice my dogs for her AGAIN!?"
"Not for her!" Grue pointed at me. "For her!" He pointed at Tattletale.
Tattletale was trying to aim his gun at him. But he was like a ping-pong. He seemed impossible to hit. He would blind Tattletale with a smokescreen from the explosion and then use the aerial position the attack gave him to blast her in the back. How was this guy so good? He was just a student, and he was fighting like The Protectorate!
"I KNOW HOW YOUR TYPES WORK!" He said. "YOU DON'T LET PEOPLE LIKE YOU THINK! OR ELSE YOU'LL LOSE!"
"COME ON!" I said.
Bitch huffed. "LUCY! INK! COME!"
The two dogs came.
"Sic him." Bitch pointed at The Explosion Kid. Then they went after him. Explosion Kid saw this. And put his hands in front of him.
"STUN GRENADE!" Suddenly, we saw a flash of light appear before us. We covered our eyes to control the blindness. And when we opened our eyes, the dogs were on the ground.
"No…" Bitch said.
Not again…
"ANYONE ELSE!?" He said.
"ANGELICA!"
"OH NO, YOU DON'T!" Then he skyrocketed towards Bitch and blew her up. She went flying a small distance away, but Explosion Kid didn't hold up on his attack. He went up into the air and then straight down to blow her up again.
She was spitting blood.
"BITCH!" Grue used his power to blind him, Regent gave him a seizure, and I hounded him with bugs.
A little overblown. But worth it. "COME ON, WE'RE RUNNING!" Grue said.
"WHAT!? NO! NOT AFTER WHAT HE DID TO MY-" She coughed up blood.
"Bitch! You're spitting blood! Two of your dogs are down! There's no debate! We're leaving NOW!"
"What about All Might!?" Shigaraki said.
"What about the supplies?" Regent said.
"WHAT ABOUT THEM!? WE'LL NEVER BEAT THAT KID! WE NEED TO GO NOW!"
"Not if I have anything to say about it!"
Suddenly, a dark bird-like being smashed into Bitch, dragging a screaming kid with him. Was he part bird? A case 54?
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING!?" I asked.
"What is it, now!?" Shigaraki asked.
"There's a bird…thing that's COMING STRAIGHT FOR US!"
We leaped out of the way of the dark bi rd to escape him from attacking us.
"What!? But the bird kid shouldn't be able to control his power with all the pain he's experiencing!"
"You also said that about all the other students, Shiggy!" Regent said. "Cleary, you were wrong! He has high pain tolerance too!"
"NO!" Tattletale shouted over the buzzing of the bugs, and the fighting of the dark abomination. "The power works independently of him!"
"Damn right!" The Dark Bird said."Now do you you wanna go quietly, or do you want me to kick your ass?"
He went straight for us, but the Nomu went in front of him and took him straight on.
"We gotta run!" Grue said.
"But tattletale is right behind The Dark Bird! We're NOT leaving her."
"Dark Shadow's the name! Killing Nomu is my game!" He ripped the arms off one of the Nomu.
"Use your darkness on him!" Imp said.
"I can't!" Grue said. "If I do, it'll power him up! I saw it in my darkness!"
"WHAT!?" Tattletale said. "If darkness strengthens it…then-"
Dark Shadow crushed the head of the Nomu. "You're next!"
"SUNDANCER! BRING YOUR SUN!
"WHAT!?" Sundancer and Shigaraki spoke at the same time.
"IF I TAKE IT AWAY FROM WELD," Sundancer said. "THEN-"
Dark Shadow ran towards us.
"JUST DO IT!" Tattletale said.
Sundancer brought her orb to us, and I spread my bugs away. The sun came behind Dark Shadow and he immediately shrunk. When he tried to get away, I kicked him and stomped on him to keep him in place.
"He's down!"
"How?" Regent said.
"Light is his weakness." Tattletale walked over to us. "It makes him smaller and weaker.
"We have no time to lose!" Shigaraki said. "Is All Might dead yet!?"
He was still worried about that!?
"DOESN'T MATTER! WE'RE LEAVING!" Grue shouted.
"What about the Nomu!?" Shigaraki replied.
"Dark Shadow killed one of them! The Hardening Guy killed the other one before the dogs got to him! The only one left is the one fighting All Might!"
"We can still-"
"Still what!? Fight All Might!?" Grue said. "We can't even STEAL the supplies!"
"How could you mess this up this freakin' badly!?"
"It was your false information that brought us to this fucking point!" Tattletale said
"You told me you guys were professionals! All you had to do was kill a couple of students!"
"Something your Nomu couldn't even do!"
I heard someone whistle. "Talk about teeth-clenched teamwork."
Glory Girl descended. It was her. "You guys must be having a real off day."
"God, fuck off Glory Girl," I spoke through my bugs. Somehow. "Your sister tried to fuck with my mind back at the hospital."
"Funny, I could say the same thing about you guys at the bank."
"That was Tattletale! Not me!"
"Gee, thanks Skitter," Tattletale said.
"Oh, I didn't mean it like that. I'm-"
"No. No." Glory Girl said. "She has a point. So how about this? I let you Undersiders go, if you let me beat the shit out of your friend here." She gestured at Tattletale.
"You gotta be kidding me," Regent said.
"Is that a no?"
"From what I hear, Skitter and Tattletale beat you AND your sister alone back at the bank." Grue pointed at her. "No, go. We can take you."
"You got a gun?"
"As a matter of fact, we do."
"We don't."
We turned to Tattletale.
"It was destroyed during my battle with Boom Boom Lad."
"Dammit," Grue said under his breath.
"Look like you're screwed." Glory Girl said.
"Skitter! Your gun!"
Glory Girl's eyes perked. "Oh, no you don't. You make any moves and I slam into you at 180 miles per hour!"
"Good showing, Glory Girl!"
Who was that? Could I turn my head to see? Or would she attack me?
Didn't matter. Because Glory Girl told all of us. "Weld, you're melted."
"Well, partially."
"Shigaraki," Tattletale said, "Weld and Glory Girl are here."
"Well, that's just great," Shigaraki said. "Glory Girl has comparable strength to All Might. If you fight her…"
"Shigaraki?" Glory Girl said. "You mean the idiot that fought All Might? You're working for him? He's your boss?"
"We don't have a boss," Grue said.
"Wait," Tattletale whispered.
"What is it now?"
"The way she said that. It's like she already knew."
"ANGELICA! RIP THEM TO SHREDS!" Bitch shouted.
Nothing happened.
"Angelica?"
Still nothing.
"Buddy?"
The Hardening Kid showed up, Angelica in hand, glaring straight at us. "Sorry about that. I taught this dog some new tricks."
Uh-oh…
Suddenly, an huge explosion killed much of my bugs, leaving me to seeth in pain. Regent did too for some reason.
The explosion kid…
He leaped with an explosion to The Hardening Guy. "DON'T THINK THIS IS OVER, LOSERS!"
Goddammit.
"Hard Guy and Boom Boy are here too!" Imp said.
"How could this be going so badly!?" I could hear the rancor in Shigaraki's voice.
"Ha! Looks like you're outmatched now," The Hardening Guy dropped Angelica. "Bakugo will wreck you!"
"YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT I WILL! YOU'D BEST GIVE UP!"
"Really? Because this Sun," Tattletale pointed at Sundancer's sun, which was still close to us, with her thumb. "Could burn you to cinders. All we have to do is turn up the heat. And we'll kill you."
"And yourself!" The Hardening Guy said. "You can't control what the heat hits!"
"We can control where the sun goes."
"And what? You want to be known as hero killers?" Bakugo said. At least, I think that was his name. "You don't have the same eyes as The Hands Guy. you're not killers. You don't have the guts."
Hands Guy? Does he mean Shigaraki? Also, more evidence of even Japanese heroes being capable of being shitty people.
"You won't kill us! Lest you want the full force of The Protectorate AND All Might all over you!"
"Their leader is Shigaraki." Glory Girl said, "So they might actually-"
"What!? Really!?" Hardening guy's eyes widened
"They're talking to him right now. So yes."
"That doesn't mean anything!" Bakugo looked at us. "I bet he just wanted another shot at All Might!"
"You have a big fanbase, Shiggy." Tattletale quipped.
"They're talking about me?" Shigaraki said. "What are they saying?"
"Doesn't matter," Grue said. "Should we call the you-know-who?"
"You mean The Travelers?" Shigaraki asked.
"Yes."
"You don't have a lot of options. Call them."
"But if they know that they're working with us…" Tattletale didn't finish the sentence.
"Know that who is working with you?" Hardening Guy asked.
"Probably The Travelers."
Everyone looked at Weld.
He continued. "That sun isn't something from Shigaraki or The Undersiders. It's from our own Travelers. Remember? Sundancer?"
Glory Girl's eyes widened. "Hey! You're right! Nice one, Weld!
"Guess being a brute doesn't mean you're stupid." Hardening Guy said.
Weld looked down, a little sheepishly.
Tattletale basically admitted to it. "Ehh, it was an easy deduction."
"Tattletale!" Grue said. "You just told them what's happening!"
"They already figured it out. Plus, now we can call them with no negative repercussions. Genesis?"
"On it." She said.
Genesis ran forward through the portal and was about to crash into Glory Girl.
Until Bakugo noticed. "GET OUT THE WAY, IDIOT!"
Glory Girl's eyes perked up, and she flew up before Genesis in her new form could crash into her. She was in her four-armed gorilla form, except blue, and eight feet tall.
"Which ones do you want me to take care of?"
Glory Girl is the bigger threat. We should have her fight her? Right? Then again, as long as we get past the barrier, we should be able to beat her. But how are we going to that without guns?
Unless…
"Take the three behind us."
Grue turned to me "What!?"
"Trust me."
"Ok," Genesis said. "I'll take them."
"Ha!" Bakugo said. "I'd like to see you try!"
Genesis shrugged. "Alright." She sped over towards Bakugo, The Hardening Guy, and Weld. Bakugo and Weld went to the side to avoid it, While The Hardening Guy stood his ground and clashed with Genesis. She pushed The Hardening Guy away while Bakugo and Weld followed.
"What are you doing?" Grue whispered…"We can't take on Glory Girl!"
"We can't take on Kaboom Kid either," Regent said.
"Goddammit, we're fucked."
"Not yet," Tattletale defended me. "I think she has a plan."
"I do."
"Oh, really?" Glory Girl glared at me. "I'd like to see you t-"
I stung her force field, bringing it down. Then I hounded her with bugs. Biting and stinging her, while she thrashed and scream, until she went down.
"Her force field is weak, pitifully so," I said. "I knew the force field would go down from that sting."
Bitch scoffed. While Grue nodded. "Ok, now lets-"
"SKITTER!"
Was that…oh no…
He landed. The green-haired, plain-looking kid landed. Right in front of me. "You won't get away with this!"
"Sting him!" Grue ordered.
"I am!"
"He has a high pain tolerance too!?"
"My power is saying yes," Tattletale said.
"Well, great."
"Is this your team Skitter?" The plain-looking said.
"How does this guy know you?" Grue asked.
"You met him before," Tattletale stated to me.
"Yeah…I did."
"I know you guys too! Undersiders!" He said that like it was a slur.
"Wow, we have fans in Japan?" Regent said. "Looks like we're going international!"
"I'm not a fan," the plain-looking kid said.
"Or much of a straight man," Regent said.
He ignored him. "So! You're attacking people just trying to help."
I felt my stomach drop. "I'm…doing what is necessary."
"No, you're not! We're already going to help them! All you're doing is getting in the way! Trying to kill us! Trying-"
"Woah, I'm not a killer."
"No, just a torturer."
I tried to erase the feelings of guilt. "You have no idea why I'm doing this."
"I don't have to! You're a villain. You're pretty much all the same."
"That's villainist," Imp said.
"Shut up."
"We don't have to fight." I held my hands in front of me.
"Too bad. I want to." He aimed his hand at me. Why? Did it have something to do with his power?"
And what was wrong with his fingers? They looked broken. Did they have another villain attack?
"What are the chances we can fight this guy, Tats?" Grue asked.
"Not good."
"Then we're leaving."
"You're not going anywhere!" The plain-looking kid's finger started glowing with red lines flowing through it.
His power was activating!?
"GET DOWN!" I grabbed Grue and Tattletale and we leaped an enormous distance out of the way.
"SMMMMMAAAAAAASSSHHHHHH!"
Suddenly, a shock wave killed most of my bugs. I gasped in pain and heard a crash. Probably from the windows breaking from the shock wave. But I couldn't investigate with my bugs. The pain was really troublesome, like ice picks behind my eyes. "Skitter!" Grue stopped me from falling over. "Are you alright!?"
"The death of her bugs is really hurting her now," Tattletale answered. "Skitter?" She waved her hands in front of me. "Hey, listen to me. Skitter? Are you out?"
I gritted my teeth. "No…Not yet."
"IMP!? Regent!?" Grue pressed the comms. "Are you alright!?"
"Yep," Regent answered. "Imp saved me."
"What's going on!?" Shigaraki practically screamed.
"Not now, Shiggy," Tattletale said.
"What about you guys? Imp asked. "You alright?"
"Yep, we're ok!" Tattletale said. "Skitter head is in pain from the number of bugs dying."
"Bitch?" Imp asked. No response. "Bitch?"
Still no response.
"Oh no…" Tattletale said. "She's out."
"Out!? What do you mean out!?" Grue bellowed in his deep, otherwordly voice.
My bugs felt movement. The kid was going after us.
"She either knocked out or dead," Tattletale said. "I can't tell which. If we don't get out of here now. We're so fucked."
"Plain-looking kid is coming after us," I told them.
Grue stared at me.
"The shock wave kid," Tattletale said.
"Oh."
"Why doesn't he just use his power?" I asked.
"Cause he might hit his friends," Tattletale answered.
"I see. So what do we do?"
"We need a hostage."
A hostage? So now I have to kidnap one of these kids?
He was nearby. "WHICH ONE!?"
"This one!" Grue picked up a blonde kid.
"NO! NOT THAT ON-"
Tattletale couldn't finish until Grue was shocked with had to be hundreds, if not THOUSANDS, of electricity running through his body. I quickly slapped the kid away with my baton and went to check on Grue.
"Grue! Speak to me! Grue!"
"I'm fine! I took worse hits." Grue said.
"Hello, villains!" Plain-looking Kid said. God, this kid was so annoying. "Looks like you're trapped."
"Regent! Imp!" I put my fingers on my comms. "Good time to help us right about now!"
"A little busy here!" Regent said.
Busy? With what?
My questions were answered when an explosion appeared on the west side of the battlefield. Suddenly, Regent's radio turned off. It didn't take a genius to figure out why.
"HA! TAKE THAT, YOU LOSERS!" Bakugo was then punched away by Genesis. Hopefully, that took him down for the count.
"Looks like your backup is out!" Izuku said.
I quickly pulled out my gun and aimed, but Izuku did the same with his finger.
Wait, three of them were broken now. Did he break his fingers by using his power?
"Put the gun down, Skitter," The plain-looking kid ordered.
"Make me."
"I bet you I can get a shot off before you."
"I bet you, you can't."
"Your bullets aren't faster than sound."
"Some bullets are."
"Just. put the gun down Skitter." The plain-looking kid ordered for what sounded like the last time. "Or else."
I tightened my grip on my gun. "You want it from me? Take it."
The green-haired boy stood there silently. I heard a sound and saw a glowing light.
Shit, I'm going to have to shoot him, but if I shoot him in the stomach, it won't keep him down. Do I have to shoot him in the head?
I…can't…I can't kill him. I had to shoot his fingers or his hand. Just have to get the aiming right.
What the hell? Someone just jumped on top of me! Who is that?
I dropped my gun. Shit.
"DEKU, RUN!"
Deku? Did she mean the plain-looking kid?
"Uraraka! You can fight her! She's too-"
"JUST RUN!"
Who is this? It has to be a Class 1-A member. But who is it?
Actually, doesn't matter. I just have to get my gun. I tried to reach down and grab it, but the Uraraka girl put me in a full nelson and I couldn't get out of it.
"THE GUN!" Deku said.
Shit. Not good.
"I GOT IT!" Grue said.
Both Deku and Grue grabbed the gun, leading to them wrestling with it.
Tattletale punched the girl that was on top of me. And I sicced my bugs on her.
"I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH YOU HURT ME, HOW MUCH TORTURE YOU PUT ME THROUGH! I AM NOT GOING TO LET YOU HURT DE-"
We heard a gunshot. Grue and Deku stopped fighting. And my bugs felt it go right to the girl that grabbed me.
She fell.
"Ur…Uraraka?"
Shit. Not good.
"Uraraka!"
He ran to her, growing down to his knees, grabbing her head, and cradling it.
"Uraraka?"
I turned to Tattletale. "We have to go now."
Tattletale looked at me. "Because we're losing?"
"Because the angry you are, the stronger your powers are. And I don't think we can fight him when he's angry."
"I don't think powers work the way you think they do. But you're right, we have to go. Grue?"
Grue sighed. "We have to get Imp, Regent, and Bitch first. You think Genesis won?"
"Well, there's no explosion anymore, so at least Boom Boom Boy is out."
"Good, he was the biggest problem."
"My bugs tell me she's still fighting two other people. We'll have to help her." I said.
"No," Grue argued. "Too dangerous. We should just leave with what we have. This plan has already gone into shambles. Let's leave while we're ahead."
"You have a funny definition of ahead." Tattletale quipped.
"Guess so. Come on, let's go."
So that was it? I failed? After working so hard to free Dinah from her abuse, to free her of the drugs and addiction, I failed, just like that?
This means Dinah would never be freed, this means that attacking the heroes, torturing them, was for naught. I had no good reason to do this. I basically tormented the heroes for no reason other than, 'because I thought it would work'. This was more than humiliating. This was a travesty.
The heroes didn't get to deliver their supplies, which means SO many people are going to go hungry. And I'll never save Dinah from the clutches of Coil, which means she'll stay there. Forever. And I can't do anything about it.
No…
I won't let that stand.
"We're not leaving."
Grue turned to me. "What?"
"You heard me. We're not leaving. We can still win this. All we have to do is beat two students."
"What about All Might?" Tattletale asked.
"What about him? He took the Nomu to the other side of the city. He can't get here in enough time. We can still win this."
"No."
We all turned to Deku.
"Uh-oh.." Tattletale said.
"You're…not going to go…ANYWHERE!"
The kid aimed his finger, leading into me jumping out of the way of the finger flick. The flick killed many of my bugs, destroyed part of the street, and even wrecked some trucks.
I held my head with both hands and kneeled over. This pain was almost as great as the agony bomb Bakuda gave us. If that pain was a ten, this pain would be a 8. But I kept going. I went towards Genesis to help her with-
Wait…where's Tattletale?
Grue?...
Oh-no…
I ran, ran faster than I ever did. I searched for them with my bugs and found them on the other side of the street. When I made it to them, I went to my knees to cradle Tattletale.
"Tattletale! Can you hear me? Tattletale!"
She was breathing funny, rasping, and holding her chest. I knew that meant one thing.
Broken rib cage.
Fuck.
"Skitter?"
I heard Grue whisper that and I went to his side, 45 feet away. His legs were so broken it was hanging on by his skin, not by flesh or bone…SKIN.
"Grue?"
"Don't…do anything…stupid…"
I can't help him, I can't help her. They're going to die. It's all my fault.
No…it's all his fault.
He was the one that nearly killed them. HE was the one that stopped us from escaping. And HE was the one that been nothing but a pain to our side since his fucking class got here.
That fucking speech, that fucking idealism, that fucking nerd…
I'll fucking kill him…
"Shigaraki, take Grue and Tattletale inside the base for medical treatment."
"What!? What for!? Why can't you do it!? What about All Might!? What about the supplies!? you can't-"
I ignored Shigaraki's pleas and took off the comms.
I pulled out my weapons, slowly turned to The Fucking Kid. and glared at him. As he was doing with me.
"Motherfucker." I was speaking through my swarm. I don't know how, but I was. "I don't know how, but I'll make you pay for that."
Deku raised his arm, looked me in the eye, and said something with more invective than even Tattletale could manage. "Die, Skitter."
Author Notes: Here's the next chapter! Like I said, off the handle. For heroes AND villains. There's a reason I called this chapter 'Out of the frying pan...'. The next chapter is Deku Vs. Skitter. So get hyped for that!
