Chapter Fourteen:
I leaped from building to building to get to All Might. I worked hard to get the timing right. If I didn't turn my power on fast enough when I landed, my legs would sprain; If I did it too late, it would be hard to control and I might accidentally activate it at 100%. I did the timing right the whole time and went to where All Might and the Nomu were.
All Might couldn't beat the Nomu like last time. He would shorten his timer again to unusable territory. Even worse…He might lose his Quirk! I can't let that happen. As long as I breathe, I will defend All Might when he needs it!
All Might blocked a punch from the Nomu and grabbed his arm to throw him away into the building, destroying it. "HA! YOU'RE JUST AS INFALLIBLE AS THE LAST NOMU!"
"ALL MIGHT!" I cried out.
All Might turned his head to look at me, he looked…afraid?...Why? Was it for my safety?
I landed on the same building as All Might and went to him. "All Might! I saw what you were fighting! I want to help!"
"No, Young Midoriya! This is too dangerous! You would be in lethal harm!"
"We signed up for that when we went to Brockton Bay!"
"The only reason we went here was that we thought there would be no villain attacks," All Might argued. "like usual after Levithan attacks! Things are going WAY differently here!"
"All the reason we should help!" I said.
"Midoriya, if you want to help, go defend the heroes from the other villains. We got it here."
"We?"
"Yes! WE!" it wasn't an angry tone. It was his usual bolstering tone
All Might gestured to where the Nomu was, and I saw it, the pro heroes in action.
Miss Militia fired at the beast with missiles galore, Whenver she fired one missile from a rocket launcher, she would spawn another one and fire, not even slowing it down. But trying nonetheless, like an ant trying to push a rock 50 times it size.
when the Nomu threw a rock at her, Aizawa grabbed her with her scarf and pulled her out of the way, and did that for any hero in trouble, like Triumph and Present Mic who were screaming at the monster, slowing it down.
Assault and Battery were working in perfect harmony to fight the Nomu. Assault would act as a stepping stone for Battery to charge at the Nomu and attack it and when the Nomu clapped its hands together to cause a shock wave, Assault would grab Battery and keep them from flying away. They were working together in perfect harmony, like two cogs that fit perfectly together in a well-tuned machine.
"You see, my boy? Us pros can handle ourselves. All you need to worry about is protecting your friends!"
I nodded. "Ok, I'll do it!"
I jumped away, back to where the PRT headquarters. All Might was right. It was dumb of me to assume that he needed help. The U.A students, The Wards, they are the ones that need my help. I can't let them die. No one deserves to die. And even if they didn't die. I refuse to let them suffer. Saving people is the core of a hero. I'm always going to save people in need, no matter what.
Besides, this was good. Well, actually this is awful. But I get to test my power against real villains. This another step to becoming the world's best hero. I mean, even All Might Isn't the top hero. But I could become the top hero, or one of the top heroes. I would break every bone in my body TWICE to become the top hero if I had to.
I made it. But I saw almost nothing in the cloud of bugs, except for….
Skitter.
Of course.
"SKITTER!"
I landed right where the villains were the bugs, stung and bit me to fill me with white-hot pain. Like nails into my nerves. I powered through it, though; hearing the screams that came right from the bowels of hell actually helped. Because it just meant I couldn't let them down. I had to help them. No matter what. I overcame the searing torment and turned.
I saw Skitter yet again, but she was with her team, Grue, the shadow master. Tattletale, the expert detector, Regent, the body controller, and Imp, the undetectable being.
Also, Rachel Lindt. From what I hear, she's one of the worse ones here. And one of the most dangerous. I'll have to take her out first. "You won't get away with this!"
"Sting him!" Grue ordered.
"I am!" Skitter said.
"He has a high pain tolerance too!?"
"My power is saying yes," Tattletale said.
"Well, great."
"This your team Skitter?" I said
"How does this guy know you?" Grue asked.
"You met him before," Tattletale stated to her. Her power really is good reasoning
"Yeah…I did."
"I know you guys too! Undersiders!" I made sure they knew I knew their names.
"Wow, we have fans in Japan?" Regent said. "Looks like we're going international!"
"I'm not a fan," I said.
"Or much of a straight man," Regent said.
Who was this guy? The joker? "So! You're attacking people just trying to help."
Skitter looked to the ground, looking for an excuse. "I'm…doing what is necessary."
"No, you're not! We're already going to help them! All you're doing is getting in the way! Trying to kill us! Trying-"
"Woah, I'm not a killer."
"No, just a torturer."
Skitter stared at me angrily. "You have no idea why I'm doing this."
"I don't have to! You're a villain. You're pretty much all the same."
"That's villainist," Imp said.
"Shut up."
"We don't have to fight." Skitter tried to defuse the situation
"Too bad. I want to." I aimed his hand at her.
"What are the chances we can fight this guy, Tats?" Grue asked.
"Not good."
"Then we're leaving."
"You're not going anywhere!" My finger started glowing with red lines flowing through it.
"GET DOWN!" Skitter grabbed Grue and Tattletale and we leaped a large distance out of the way.
"SMMMMMAAAAAAASSSHHHHHH!"
I fired my shock wave, killing a majority of Skitter's bugs. I tolerated the pain and heard a crash. Probably from the windows breaking from the shock wave.
My finger was broken now. That's three broken fingers, without Recovery Girl, my fingers would stay like this for the entire trip. I had to take them down quickly.
As I ran, the scream found their way into my soul. The screaming was omnipresent. It pierced the heavens with sheer horror and volume. And…was that Uraraka!?
I had to help her! Find some way to get these bugs off her! All I have to do is…
All I have to do is beat these villains. Nothing else will work. I HAD to beat these villains. For every hero. For all heroes! THESE VILLAINS WILL NOT GET AWAY!
I was nearby.
"WHICH ONE!?" Skitter said. Which one what?
"This one!" Grue picked up Kaminari.
Wait…were they taking a hostage!?
"NO! NOT THAT ON-"
Tattletale couldn't finish until Grue was shocked with had to be hundreds, if not THOUSANDS, of electricity running through his body. Skitter quickly slapped the kid away with her baton and went to check on Grue.
"Grue! Speak to me! Grue!"
"I'm fine! I took worse hits." Grue said.
"Hello, villains!" I said. "Looks like you're trapped."
"Regent! Imp!" She put two fingers on her ear. She must've been using comms. "Good time to help us right about now!"
"A little busy here!" Regent shouted form the other side of the battlefield.
Busy? With what?
My questions were answered when an explosion appeared on the west side of the battlefield. Suddenly, Regent's radio turned off. It didn't take a genius to figure out why.
"HA! TAKE THAT, YOU LOSERS!" Bakugo was then punched away by Genesis. Hopefully, he was Ok.
"Looks like your backup is out!" I said.
Suddenly, she pulled out a gun! Crap! I had to aim with my fingers!"
"Put the gun down, Skitter," I said.
"Make me."
"I bet you I can get a shot off before you."
"I bet you, you can't."
"Your bullets aren't faster than sound."
"Some bullets are."
"Just. put the gun down Skitter." I said, trying to sound more confident than I really was.. "Or else."
She tightened my grip on her gun. "You want it from me? Take it."
Crap, If I use my power, she could die. I can't kill her. So how am I supposed to take her down?
Wait, I can limit the power. I can hold back. I did it against Shigaraki. All I have to do is temper it.
I turned on the power. It would take a second to charge up. What if she shoots me while it's charging? What am I supposed to-
But then someone jumped on Skit-Holy woah, was that URARAKA!?
"DEKU, RUN!"
"Uraraka! You can fight her! She's too-"
"JUST RUN!"
I can't run. If I leave her alone, she'll DIE. I can't use my power though, I'll hit her.. But if we team up against her, we may have a fighting chance. All I need it one good shot.
Skitter reached down for something, But Uraraka put her in another hold that looked kinda poor. But was good enough to keep her at bay. What was she reaching fo-
"THE GUN!" I said.
"I GOT IT!" Grue said.
Crap. Not good.
I and Grue grabbed the gun, leading to us wrestling with it.
I tried to pull the gun away from him. But he grabbed the center and pulled it from me. I winced from the pain, like scalpels to my teeth. But I persevered. I had to use my power. Just to pull it away, I could hold back, all I had to do was-
"I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH YOU HURT ME, HOW MUCH TORTURE YOU PUT ME THROUGH! I AM NOT GOING TO LET YOU HURT DE-"
The gun fired. How? My finger wasn't on the trigger.
Wait, Grue's was…
Who…who did he hit?
Uraraka fell.
"Ur…Uraraka?"
She didn't answer.
"Uraraka!"
I ran to her, going down to my knees, grabbing her head, and cradling it.
"Uraraka?"
Uraraka coughed up blood. When she did, it splattered right onto my face. "Deku? I'm sorry…I couldn't save you…I'm-"
"Don't be! It's not your fault!"
Uraraka smiled. "Thanks, Deku…My blood is really draining now…I wish I could help…Stay strong…persevere. Remember what your name means…and"
Uraraka tried to get another word out. But she couldn't get it out. What was it? WHAT ELSE DID SHE WANT TO SAY!?
She stopped moving.
"Uraraka?"
She didn't respond, her eyes closed.
"No…"
I stood up. Ready to kill at the wrong fucking word.
"We're not leaving." Skitter said
"What?" Grue replied.
"You heard me. We're not leaving. We can still win this. All we have to do is beat two students."
"What about All Might?" Tattletale asked.
"What about him? He took the Nomu to the other side of the city. He can't get here in enough time. We can still win this."
"No."
I turned my head slowly. Glaring at Skitter in her fucking eyes.
"Uh-oh.." Tattletale said.
"You're…not going to go…ANYWHERE!"
I aimed my finger, leading into Skitter jumping out of the way of the finger flick. The flick killed many of her bugs, destroyed part of the street, and even wrecked some trucks.
And I managed to hit those stupid villains.
Skitter held her head, even though I didn't hit her. Did it have something to do with me killing her bugs?
Skitter ran away from me, leaving me to follow her. She can't escape from me. I won't let her.
She shot Uraraka. SHE terrorized civilians into working with her. SHE attacked a group of heroes to fulfill her sick goals for domination.
Uraraka was the first girl, the first ANYONE my age that stayed by my side. that was nice to me, that was my friend. And she did nothing but helped me. She saved me. She did no wrong to me. And she gets rewarded by getting killed!?
It's not right. It's not fair.
There must be justice.
She must be taken out.
I made it to her.
She slowly turned. "Motherfucker." She was speaking through her swarm. Another ability of her's? "I don't know how, but I'll make you pay for that."
I raised his arm, looked her in the eye, and said. "Die, Skitter."
She covered herself with bugs. I wanted to fire, but I needed a closer shot. Or else she'd dodge it again.
It didn't matter anyway, cause the second I took a step. She was gone.
"Dammit! Where are you!?"
The bugs started stinging and biting. The pain was greater than anything I ever faced. Like someone pulled out my fingernails with a plier.
Couldn't stop. Won't stop. Have to find her. But where is she?
Can't see anything in this cloud of bugs, but if I fire a shock wave at the ground, it'll kill a lot of them.
But I only have three fingers and two thumbs. If I smash another finger, what am I going to use to hit Skitter?
Well, it doesn't matter if I only have three fingers! As long as she's not hidden, I can find her quickly.
So that's what I did. I fired a shock wave at the ground. Killing all the bugs around the area, blowing them away.
I looked around for Skitter as fast as I could, trying to ignore the bodies of my classmates. They'll never get saved if I don't beat Skitter, anyway. But not even a full second went by before more bugs came through the portal and started biting me.
How did they move that fast? Bugs can't move as fast as they just did. She must push bugs past their ordinary limits!
But I didn't find her. Dammit. And now I'm down to two fingers and two thumbs. I can't even use my thumbs. How am I going to find her?
Let's think back. Did she show any weaknesses? Did she show any weak points?
Wait…she held her head after I killed some bugs…
Maybe…If I fire another one…
I fired another shock wave at the ground. Hoping for the pain from the death of the bugs to cripple her. If my theory was correct, that was SHOULD happen.
When I did it, I launched all the bugs away. I couldn't hear her. Couldn't see her. And when I scanned the entire area. More bugs came. And this time, she went for my eyes and mouth. Was she going to kill me!?
I shut them both tight. But there were still some bugs in my mouth, she could choke e out! Can I use One for All on my lungs?
I didn't have to wonder because she flew them out my mouth when I opened it. Mercy? From a villain? That's impossible!
I have to think about my options. If use another finger, what am I going to use to hit her?
I CAN'T use another finger. I already used too many. Does that mean I can't beat her? Does that mean I can't avenge Uraraka's death? Does this mean she already won?
I can't fail yet. For the sake of Uraraka, for the sake of Kacchan, for the sake of ALL THE HEROES! I can't give up now!
But what can I do? What should I pull out against her? I don't have anything left. If I fire another finger…
What am I saying!? I can't forgive her after everything she has done! I'll do ANYTHING to stop her! ANYTHING to defeat her! And sacrifice anything to save people!
I fired another shock wave at the ground and not only did the bugs die; I heard her cry out. It was a scream not unlike a terrified child, screaming from the depths of their soul. The truest showcase of pain and fear.
She was in the PRT base. In the lobby with bodies of PRT troopers there. How? Was it Te Travelers?
Actually, doesn't matter.
"FOUND YOU!"
I leaped to the base using One for All, going through the broken windows, right when I landed, though she bought in more bugs. I could still hear her, so I took a leap towards her. My legs weren't broken, so I could still win this. I punched her, hitting her with my knuckles instead of my fingers. It still hurt like hell, but I put her on the ground with a thud because of it.
I went to hit her while she was down, but then she swatted me with a baton, hitting my fingers, leaving me to cry out in pain. I heard her get up. I went to punch her with One for All, but before I could comprehend I felt nothing, I felt a baton bash me on my cheek, the skin of the inside of my mouth cutting on my teeth. Dammit, how did she move to my side? She shouldn't have moved faster than my punch! I heard the wind rushing from her swinging her baton, I dodged, and shoulder-checked her, knocking her down.
She ran at me, covered in bugs. I went to-wait a second…I don't hear her footsteps…How is she…It's a decoy! I ran through it to tackle her to the ground. And succeeded. We were both on the ground now, so I went for another punch. Right when I did, Skitter pulled out a knife. Faster than I could process it, she slashed right at my chest, nearly cutting my lungs, and forcing me to stagger back.
"GAH! SHIT!" I held my chest. It was definitely bleeding. Dammit. Had to end this quickly.
She ran forward, knife in hand. It looked like she was going to go for my leg, but I didn't let her. I jumped forward with One for All, like a cannon going headfirst into Skitter's nose. I heard the bone smash and the blood splatter. Even broke her mask on the bottom. I tried to get up to a running start, slipping on blood on the way, but before I could get to her, she kneed me in the gut. Thanks to my build, it didn't do that much. I tried to get up, but she hit me in the head with her baton and the butt end of her knife. When I went to attack her, she covered herself in bugs, and when I went I tackle her, she was already gone.
"You are the most despicable, selfish, fucking annoying hero I have ever meant!" She was speaking through her bugs again. "Just crawl away and DIE!"
"Doesn't matter how much you hurt people," I said. "how evil you are! We will stop you! And we'll avenge everyone you killed!"
"Evil? EVIL!? What's it going to take to convince you that heroes can be as bad as villains!?"
She thought heroes were as bad as villains!? "Villains are the bloodthirsty ones that steal, injure, and kill just for kicks! Can you bring up anyone that is even bad!?"
"Sophia, Panacea, Glory Girl-"
What? "Shut the hell up."
She attacked me with bugs, going for the eyes again, I shielded them with my arms.
"What about Armmaster? Breaking The Unwritten Rules?"
"Unwritten what? What the hell is that?"
Skitter stayed silent. "You Japanese heroes really are hopeless. Wither in despair."
She attacked me with bugs, but my pain receptors were already through the roof. I'm not going to lose yet. I had to find her. Had to kill her bugs again, but how?
Wait…so what if my fingers are broken? I can still win this! All I have to do is…
I put my thumb in my mouth and flicked with my mouth. Killing all the bugs around, but I couldn't see her. Where is she!?
I almost tripped on one of the PRT bodies. Dammit, where is she!?
"Let's see you try to find me now."
Several bug decoys came out of hiding and shuffled themself by sidestepping around the area and around each other.
Dammit. Which one is she? If I don't find out quickly, she'll attack me. What am I going to do?
Wait, I see her mask! It's that one! I have to-
Wait…why wouldn't she just fill the area with bugs? Why waste time playing 'Spot the Skitter'? It doesn't make any sense.
Unless she wanted me to waste a finger flick.
That means it's not the one with the mask. But which one is it? Wait, it doesn't matter. All I have to do is flick a finger at the floor and it'll hit all the bugs and reveal where Skitter really is.
So that's what I did.
And when all the bugs died, I couldn't find her.
"You're so stupid."
I turned around and saw the PRT trooper I nearly tripped on, risen up and tried to slash my legs. I jumped away, but the tendons on my right leg were still cut. And I messed up the landing rolling and crashing into the wall.
"The mask. The bugs." I said.
"All tricks." Skitter walked towards me wearing the armor of a PRT trooper. How DARE she walk towards me wearing an outfit of those that support heroes!? "My actual plan was to switch out my outfit for a PRT soldier outfit. It's a little big, but at least it fits my purposes."
I'd roll my eyes at the joke if I wasn't so pissed off.
Skitter put more bugs in the room, covering my sight from her. "Now you see…You can't save everyone…Villains always win in the end…And I'M better than YOU."
What? She was rubbing Ochaco's death in my fucking face!? Was she that cruel and evil!?
How fucking dare she…
She walked up to me. Wearing her actual costume. "And now that all your fingers are broken. You got no options but to give up."
She attacked me with bugs. A cold shower of white-hot pain. Crawling inside my nose, my mouth, and my ears. Holy Woah, she's trying to kill me!
What can I do? What can I use? Is this it?...Have I lost…?
Ochaco…I'm…
No…
"I'm not out yet!"
I wish I could see the look on Skitter's face when I flicked with my broken finger.
She tried to jump out of the way, but she was too close, and she still got hit. As did all the bugs. Not only that but she was left on the ground holding her head and gut, trying to cope with the fact that she just lost.
Finally. I won.
I walked up to her, getting aware of my surrounding. All the students and Wards have passed out. Probably from the pain. They were laid out like a massacre. But we won…
I won.
I put my foot on her chest. Her mask was halfway blown off.
She coughed. "Well? Aren't you going to kill me?"
What? "NO! Of course not! I'm a hero! That means you don't kill, no matter what."
Skitter looked at me like I had grown a second head. Was she that deep into villainy?
"I see, So what are you going to do?"
"I'm going to take you, and your team in."
"Good job, Brat."
What? Was that Kacchan? No, it didn't sound anything like him. So who…
"Ummm…thanks, we should get these guys out of here."
"Yeah, you're right." He said. He put his arm around me, and I saw that he was wearing a hoodie. The man was looking down. Lookin

What?
He put his hand, except for one finger, on my throat. "It's a pleasure to see you again," He raised his head. "Izuku Midoriya!"
