Disclaimer: I do not own anything of Yu-gi-oh! Yu-gi-oh! belongs to it's rightful creator and owner Kazuki Takahashi. I only own my ocs and the plotline for this story. I also do not own anything from the following movies listed The mummy, the mummy returns, Chucky, the scorpion king, the mummy 2017 version, Stay Alive, and the Gods of Egypt. These movies belong to their rightful creators and owners. Just borrowing some ideas, items, names or some events from these films. I might also borrow a few other ideas or events from other films latter on and all credit will be given to those films and their creators at the start of the chapter I decided to add in the story.

Warning: Characters might be ooc but I will be trying my hardest to keep the characters as true to themselves as possible. Also my spelling and grammar is terrible. Trying to improve on this since spelling and grammar are my worst subjects.

This is a complete rewrite of my older story, that I created back when I was highly depressed after my father died unexpectedly which traumatised me,and still haunts me, but i will not go into details about and I was in a really dark place after his death as I tried to complete the story I wrote in that time of my depression. My original notes were lost as well as misplaced. The story in my opinion suffered greatly as I tried writing the chapters from memory, somewhere along the way I just lost focus on what I was writing completely. Hopefully the new story will be a lot better than the older one.

I've also decided to keep my older story up, so you can read the original one if you wish to do so, even though that story is no longer being updated Unless I decide otherwise.

I also finally seen the 4th and 5th season of Yu-Gi-Oh since a friend of mine bought me, the complete series of Yu-Gi-Oh as an early Christmas present and I will be including these seasons in this story. Like before it will start with season zero the forbidden season and it will end in the final 5th season where I might do a sequel of the story into Yu-Gi-Oh GX and possibly a sequel into Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's after GX. Depending on how well this story goes. I honestly haven't seen the other two or three series after Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's and I know nothing about pendulum summoning, link summoning or anything about the xyz summons.

Rated M. This is due to the fact I wish to be very careful. Contains very strong language such as swearing, cartoon violence, dark themes, crude humor, depressing themes, some disturbing themes, possible character deaths, gore, horror, murder, mystery and blood.

Sorry for the late arrival of this story I been really sick and in the hospital. Only got released a day or two ago.

A sixteen year old boy was running down the hallways of a Vermont hospital. A hospital where his father had been staying at for the past couple of months due to a unexplained illness which was growing worse with each passing day. The doctors were even struggling to figure out what was happening to his father.

Sadly time was running out with each passing second, minute, hour, day, week or month that passed with no explanation to the strange illness. The worse his father's condition was becoming, it seemed like hope was fading with each passing moment. Sadly the illness was now out of anyone's control to help cure it. The doctors had done everything they possibly could and now his father's fate rested in the hands of the gods to pass the final judgement. If his father should live or die.

The boy's name was William Dracon. He was a white Caucasian, with a very healthy athletic looking appearance, bright golden amber color eyes, natural messy dark crimson red hair that was styled in the same fashion as Zexion's from the Kingdom Hearts videogames only longer by a few inches and less gravity defying. Height wise he was about Seto Kaiba's height if not a few more inches taller than him.

He had three small gold hoop style earring in each ear. A thin white gold chain that held a small white gold heart shaped locket that held a dragon curled around a mermaid in a protective way could be seen on it along with a pale green crystal like shard being held between the mermaid and the dragon in the form of a tear drop. He was wearing a black jean jacket over a white turtleneck shirt, black jeans and black shoes. A crimson red one shoulder strap backpack was slung over his shoulder.

William was a huge fan of the anime called Yu-gi-oh, and loved the card game based on the series. In fact he never ever missed single Yu-gi-oh card game tournament and even won a few tournaments including one world championship of the card game.

Wherever he went, he always carried his dueling deck and his cards with him. His deck was the one his father had helped him put together which has never once met him down. True he didn't always win a match but he always walked away with some new ideas on how to improve his deck as he would look forward to his next duel.

Loud rumbling thunder was heard from outside as the down pour of rain could be heard from outside as the wind picked up. The rain hitting the windows as well as the storm outside gave the hospital a cold ominous feeling.

William frowned as he kept running towards his father's room. He was an only child, since his mother had died ten years ago in a hit and run accident. She had died in front of her husband and son who were waiting for her in front of a store, she gone to go park the car before joining them.

The culprit was never found or caught, but William never forgot the car's appearance or licence plate number. The licence plate number however was latter proven to have been stolen off a different car but the vehicle that had hit his mother just seemed to have disappeared into thin air, just like the driver had done.

The only two living family members he had was his father who was currently dying, and his eighty one year old grandmother who lived in South Carolina knowing the possibility of losing her only son as she also worried about her grandson's well being.

William's mother when she had been alive, had been very secretive about her past and hardly spoke of it. His father and grandmother were just as secretive about things in their pasts as well but William never questioned them of their mysterious pasts.

This was due to the fact it never did any good, since they would only look at him and tell him, "When your older you will understand everything. You will one day learn the truth as too why we kept so many secrets from you. Until that day comes you must be patient, and we hope you can forgive us." If William had any other living relatives, than he was never told about them or shown any photographs of them. He also given up years ago finding out, any information on his secretive family. Something he sometimes regretted not pushing the issue further on.

William sighed as he continued running down the familiar hallways of the hospital. He had just been at one of his Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments that was being held in his area, until he got a phone call from the hospital which had caused him to drop out of the tournament finals. His dying father needed him, since the doctors could no longer help him and his father's condition was worsening.

A heavy lump was in the back of William's throat as he ran towards his father's room. He refused to cry since he had always known that one day, he would loose his father, but he never imagined that day...being so soon. He slowed his run to a very slow walk as he approached his father's room. A few nurses gave him looks of pity as he passed them, like they always did before they went back to their normal routines. One of those nurses was his best friend's mother Mrs. Stone.

A doctor suddenly left his father's room only to look at William who had arrived. "How is he, Dr. Winters?" William asked slowly with a heavy heart. Upon seeing the doctor's grim expression, William knew the news was not good and he could feel whatever hope he was still clinging on to slowly slip from his grasp, like sand in a hour glass.

"I'm sorry William, there is no easy way to say this but your father's condition has grown much worse since yesterday...he doesn't have much time left. In fact, I honestly don't think he will survive the night. I'm sorry, he's beyond our help to help him now. All we can do is make sure he is comfortable. We'll contact your grandmother and update her on her son's condition, so we can also go over funeral arrangements for when the time comes. Please excuse me." The doctor said bluntly with no emotion in his voice as he looked down at his clipboard. "I'm sorry, William...really I am." he added before going to his next patient.

William stood there frozen as he allowed the doctor's words to sink in. He was going to loose his father. Before he could be lost in his troubling thoughts a loud crash and a scream was heard from a few doors away. "Get those things away from me!" A elderly female voice shouted.

"Mrs. Smith, Please you must take your medicines!" A nurse yelled.

"I am not crazy, and I do not need any medicines!!!" A elderly woman screamed.

Mrs. Smith was a elderly lady who had been in the hospital just as long as his father had been. Around town everyone knew her as the crazy old woman, this was due to the fact people had found her screaming something about cursed items, how gods of old were losing their powers and how a lost spirit needed to be guided home. She was also found running around town in only her nightgown screaming practically nonsense. Needless to say it caused her to be sent to the hospital, in fear for her own safety. Especially after running into busy traffic still screaming things about cursed items.

"I need assistance in here!!!" The nurse screamed as Dr. Winters rushed over to help smooth things over. William couldn't help but watch as the drama unfolded.

"Mrs. Smith, please you are unwell you must take your medicines." Dr. Winters pleaded with her only for her to smack the bottle of pills out of his hand.

"I am not sick or crazy!!! Why can't you people understand that the world is in danger?!!! The new lord of death is awakening!!! The barriers are weakening between the realms of the dead, shadows and the living as the old lord of the dead is dying!! The warriors of the past are out searching for their new master to protect him from the true traitor of the gods!!!"

"Not this nonsense again...please Mrs. Smith you must take your medicines." the nurse said as Mrs. Smith snarled at her.

"I am not crazy!! The gods are searching for the new lord of the dead to help prepare him!! The new Anubis will be born again!!! The new lord must fix the barriers in his temple of the dead, fight the poisonous scorpion who dares try to take the place of the new god, face off against the god of violence to save a innocent life from being sacrificed to bring back the dead sister who left this world cruely, and to make sure that the Pharaoh's forgotten spirit enters the afterlife safely!!!! Let me go!! I am not crazy!!! The items of the gods will do battle against the imposter items as they break the hidden curse of the seven items of gold!!!!" she screamed frantically.

"What happened before I arrived?" Dr. Winters whispered to his nurse as Mrs. Smith rambled on.

"Mrs. Smith has refused to take her medicines...when I tried giving them to her, and she just freaked out all of a sudden!" A frightened nurse explained to Dr. Winters.

"Mrs. Smith, please calm down, you must take your medicines!!!" Dr. Winters raised his voice.

"Go to hell!!! I am not crazy or sick!! I must warn everyone about the danger, that all you idiots fail to understand!!!" She screamed at him.

By this point Dr. Winters had enough of this madness. "Get security in here now!!!" Dr. Winters shouted over his screaming patient.

William shook his head as more nurses, and security guards raced to Dr. Winters side as they tried to calm Mrs. Smith down and force her to take her medicines. However Mrs. Smith broke free of them with inhuman strength as she than suddenly ran out of her hospital room.

Her long curly white hair was flared out in a wild sort of way making her look completely insane. She than suddenly grabbed William's left wrist roughly. It was hard enough to make him yelp in pain as she held him in a death grip. His golden amber color eyes meet her wild pale grey eyes.

"Mrs. Smith, You need to let go of me please." William said through gritted teeth in pain. For a elderly lady around his grandmother's age she was abnormally strong. He didn't want to hurt the elderly woman but yet he also wanted her to let go of him.

"You...You are the reason the gods and goddesses of old are losing their powers as well as their strengths as they struggle to keep the barriers from falling! You are the new lord of the dead, the new Anubis!! You must return to the gods to fix the barriers!!" She screamed at him before a few security guards ran over to help get her off of him. "You are death trapped in human skin, boy! Your not a human child, but a immortal child of the gods!! Unhand me!!! I am not crazy!! You must return to the land of the pharaohs, find the sacred books of the gods and their key!!! Master your powers before it is too late!!!! Two friends that were once as close as brothers, now mortal enemies doomed to fight until they end each other, however the one who shares death's very soul shall become the true master. And only through the eyes of the true master shall he vanquish the traitorous god making him fall to the darkness to be devoured and torn by the very dark being that he betrayed and tricked that allowed mortals to create seven cursed items of gold and to finally break their curse!!Remember my words!!" She screamed as security managed to get her off of him as they dragged her back to her room.

William was frozen by those words but he knew Mrs. Smith had never been the same after her two grandsons and her son had been killed in a school shooting two years ago. She had been one of the very few people who has never once blamed him for what happened that horrible day, two years ago.

Her words honestly hurt, since many people in town still blamed him for what happened when his teacher, classmates and girlfriend were murdered in cold blood. They had all been murdered by a former teacher. By the name of Mr. Ferris who William had helped get fired from his job.

True many still glared at him, talked in harsh whispers about him all in negative tones, some students in his school even still call him a friend killer, a murderer, or would ask him harshly why he survived when no one else had been so lucky. Some people even flat out told him that he should have been the one who died and not their loved ones.

It honestly hurt knowing he was hated as well as judged harshly for something that wasn't entirely his fault. However deep down he knew he was partially to blame for those events that had unfolded that horrible day. William never forgave himself and often blamed himself for what had happened for not taking a threat seriously when he got that teacher fired from his job.

William watched silently as security dragged Mrs. Smith back to her room for the doctor to sedate her. She kept screaming things that really made no sense but something about what she was screaming about was triggering something deep within himself. Something that felt like he had to do something important but could no longer remember what it was that he was suppose to do. He was pulled from his thoughts as William's best friend's mother who worked there as a nurse ran over to check on him.

"Are you okay, William?" She asked him in concern. "You weren't hurt were you?"

"Yeah...I'm okay Mrs. Stone... her words just brought back a lot of unwanted memories. I'm not hurt." William said softly as his eyes held a deep sadness in them.

Mrs.Stone frowned at that as she looked at him. "Oh sweetie, what happened that day wasn't your fault. The only person to be at fault that day was Mr. Ferris...the one who pulled the trigger. He is the only person who should be blamed for what happened...everyone is just angry that he took his own life before anyone could send him to trial for his crimes. Unfortunately everyone seems to want to take it out on you, since you were the only survivor, they turn a blind eye to the fact that you are also a victim." She said softly.

"I know how they feel. However I can't change what happened no matter how much I wish I could...nor can I change the fact that I still want revenge for what he did." William said softly as his hands clenched tightly into fists at his sides as his long fingernails dug deeply into the palm of his hands. Mrs. Stone frowned as she stared at him sadly.

"You know that an eye for an eye will eventually leave you blind, right?" She asked him softly. William said nothing as he unclenched his fists slowly as he looked off to the side not wanting to look her in the eyes. "William, you need to stop chasing ghosts of the past, and finally let them rest where they belong. You need to start living in the present and look forward to the future. You can't change the past, no matter how much you wish you could, by thinking of all the possibilities of what you could have or should have done...it's only going to drive you insane, until it leads you down the path of self destruction, like it tried to do last time." she said making him flinch at the memory of how he tried to end his own life. "I need to get back to work...but William...don't keep living in the past, your family and your friends don't want that for you. Not even Selena would want that for you, if she was still here with us. William don't allow Selena's sacrifice to be in vain by throwing away your life as well as your happiness when she died protecting the one who mattered the most to her." She added softly.

William said nothing as she lightly patted his shoulder, before she went back to work. He watched her for a moment before sighing softly as he ran a hand through his hair. He felt more conflicted than before. With another soft sigh to calm his nerves he than slowly entered his father's room almost hesitantly. Just seeing his father there hooked up to so many machines was hard enough, but knowing that his father was about to die was even harder to accept.

His father's once healthy skin had now turned to a sickly grey color, around his father's eyes had darkened dramatically, his skin had seemed to sink inwards giving off the illusion of death or something. William was no stranger to death. Having lost his mother, a few of his dearest friends, his girlfriend, one teacher and his entire class to death, he was only way to familiar with death's presence.

His dad slowly opened his dark golden color eyes to look at his son who approached. He offered his son a weak smile. William tried to return the smile but failed horribly at it as he took his seat and gripped his father's hand gently. "Hi dad." William managed to say as his father looked at him. It honestly hurt seeing how his father's once dark golden color eyes, that once held so much life in them had now dulled to a lifeless stare. His father's dark brown hair which was turning grey in some spots had grown longer over these couple of months as those spots had became more grey.

"How did...your tournament go, and what was going on in the hallway just now?" His father asked him weakly.

"I dropped out of the finals. You need me more, and there are other tournaments. Besides forth place isn't that bad. As for the commotion in the hallway just moments ago...just a patient not wanting there medicines, nothing to worry about." William said softly as not wishing to trouble his dad with what just happened.

"Y-you could have finished your tournament...I know you been dueling for the prize money to help...with the hospital bills and other bills. Besides taking up part time jobs around the area to keep everything okay and running smoothly...For that I am sorry. It's a parents job to look after their kid...not the other way around." William's father said through his oxygen mask.

"It's fine...They know why I left. The person I was suppose to duel wasn't happy that we couldn't duel but he also understood that family comes first. Besides forth place doesn't sound all that bad, dad." William said softly.

"I heard a disturbing rumor that you were seen fighting the Dark Souls gang again near Black Swamp. You haven't been doing any more street fighting again, have you?" His father asked him making William swallow thickly. William had been told several times not to do any street fighting due to how dangerous it was in those types of fights and to go up against the Dark Souls gang was just asking for a death sentence. They were cruel, cold and deadly. However the money they offered to anyone who could survive their fights was just way to tempting to back away from.

"About that..." William said nervously. His father's eye twitched violently.

"William Kiryu Dracon." His father snarled.

"I possibly got into a few street fights against them. At least once or twice out of sheer desperation, I went against your wishes and did what you told me not to do?" William said nervously as his father gave him a very dark look.

William knew his father's dark look anywhere. It was a silent scolding and warning of not to do it again. William bowed his head in understanding before his father lightly poked his forehead making him look up at him.

"You know better...those fights are dangerous...I had my own fair share of those types of fights when i was a kid and I have seen people killed in them. Are you slipping back into your suicidal thoughts again?" He asked in concern.

"I'm not suicidal, dad...I know two years ago I did something really stupid after Selena died but I learned my lesson. Before you ask why, It's a bit complicated and I rather not talk about it. Look the point is I knew I could take them on and win. Which I did." William said softly.

"At what cost? A rib or two? Bruises, cuts, broken bones, dislocated shoulders, or the cost of your very life?! Look this isn't a joke! You could have been killed. William, the worse pain a parent can go through is the loss of their child." William's father scolded him sharply. "Son, I will always worry about your safety because I love you, and the fact I don't like seeing my son hurt. Anyways enough scolding you for now. I see that you found your locket, haven't seen you wear that in some time." His father said softly as William placed his other hand over it. A sad look appeared on his face.

"Found it this morning, when I was getting ready for the tournament...It still plays that one song that truly connected us. Selena still has hers with her, even in death...I honestly thought I threw this into the lake in a fit of rage after what happened at her funeral...glad I was mistaken." William said softly as he moved his hand away from it. His father watched him sadly.

"It has been two years, since that horrible day...what happened wasn't your fault. Also Selena would want you happy and to finally move on with your life, my son." William's father said softly as William released his necklace.

"I know...it's just...hard to move forward with my life when I still feel completely dead inside...guess I'm just not ready to move on just yet." William said softly.

"The pain never truly goes away...it dulls over time but it can still be as sharp as the day it happened." His father said softly in a knowing tone.

William said nothing as he let his father's words sink in. His father let out a soft sigh. "Are you still dueling with that deck, that I helped you build?" His father asked as he decided to change the subject of their conversation for now.

"Naturally...I never go anywhere without it. Besides your heart is in this deck along with mine." William said. "The winged dragon of ra, and the rest of my deck as well as all of my other cards have always helped me out of a sticky situation and have never once failed me. Some more so than others."

"Always believe in the heart of the cards...am I right?" His father asked with a wink before going into a very bad coughing fit. He than looked at his son. "You are a lot like me, but you have your mother's hair color and her gentle heart. Afraid you inherited both of our firey tempers combined but you take more after her than you will ever know. However you just had to inherent my stubbornness didn't you?"

"Wasn't intentional...however I honestly don't remember mom, all that well." William said softly.

"Not surprising... you were only six when she died. Hate to say it but your mother Elizabeth, could be down right terrifying whenever she was angry, that one evil glare of hers could strike the fear of god into anyone who was on the other end of it. She wasn't one to anger quickly, however you also never wanted to be on her bad side either. You definitely mastered her sharp glare added with your own unique style to it. You also have her passion for art as well as her art skills. Thankfully you took after my cooking skills, rather than your mother's. Her cooking seemed to have a mind of it's own, sometimes I swore it was still alive." His dad laughed softly in a nervous tone.

"Her cooking was that bad?" William asked in surprise.

"She honestly couldn't cook to save her life, let's just leave it at that. She tried her best but it just wasn't meant for her." William's father said as his face had a unhealthy shade of green to it from the memories. "In fact she almost killed me as well as our friends several times with her cooking."

"However my talent for music, that comes from who exactly? Since I know you can't sing to save your life or play a instrument." William said softly.

"I would have to say that talent also came from your mother. Elizabeth could sing like an angel. She could have been a professional singer easily if she really wanted to be one but she never had any true passion for it, and she knew how to play piano since her folks forced her to learn how to play it at a young age. However her real passion was more along the lines of reading. She wanted so badly to open her own book shop, she loved reading with passion. The only times she would sing was when you were a baby, it use to help you sleep or calm you from your fears whenever you had a nightmare. She even on rare occasions would play that piano that we have in the living room as she would teach you how to play it. You would spend hours at that thing trying to learn how to play it as your mom would stop whatever she was doing to help you learn. Eventually you mastered it and went on to other instruments. Wasn't entirely thrilled when you decided to learn how to play the drums though." William's father said softly.

"Why didn't mom ever open up her dream book store?" William asked making his father turn deadly serious. This was the first time he had ever heard about this.

"She did once...A year after we were married and before you were born. She was happy, the book store was doing very well, and than trouble began when that person came to town. Before you ask who that person is or was, all you need to know is that it was someone from our past who showed up...A person you don't need to know about. Your mother argued with him something fierce. Eventually it spiraled out of control. When he went to hit my wife, I got involved, and we fought. We did a lot of damage to the store and it took my three best friends to pull me away from him as their wives were comforting my wife who was in tears. He left with a warning that was more of threat, saying he would make us all pay someday. Two months latter your mother and I found out we were going to be parents. Our friends were over joyed for us since their wives were also pregnant at the time. Your mother and I were excited to be parents. Than a week after the happy news, a letter arrived addressed to your mother, a letter that held a death treat aimed towards you, when you weren't even born yet. We called our friends and the cops...they also got the similar letters. No name or return address were on any these letters but we all had our suspicion of who it was. Sadly it was never proven that it was him. That same night after those letters arrived for us...someone set your mother's bookshop on fire...it broke your mother's heart and it scared her to death. For your protection we moved away from our friends, and your mother never dared to open up another book store after that horrible night, in fear he would find us and carry out that threat. We kept in touch with our friends over the years, even visited them until we just sort of just drifted away. You were practically best friends with their sons growing up." William's father explained before he noticed his son's sad and troubled expression. There was a moment of thick silence between them before a deep sigh pulled William from his thoughts.

"William, you might be able to fool everyone else around you with that mask that you created but I know when your troubled by something. You can't hide your true emotions from me or from yourself. I already know that I am dying...and that I won't be here much longer in this world. You know this as well as I do...I can see it in your eyes. It's okay to cry, it's not a form of weakness to show your emotions. I have known for sometime that my time among the living was nearing it's final moments." His father said softly. "I have already accepted this fate."

William frowned at those words. "There is still hope that you could recover from this...but why are you still hiding so much from me?"

"William...my strength is leaving me. I can no longer fight this illness...If it is my time to join the afterlife than it is my time to go...we all have to face death someday. At least I will be able to see your mother again. Like you I never truly moved on from losing the love of my life but I forced myself to keep living because you needed me." William's father said softly. "As for all the secrets...your mother, your grandmother and I all have our reasons. One day you will learn the truth. A truth, that I hope you can one day forgive us from keeping from you but we had our reasons. Reasons I hope you will understand when the day comes. As for now you do not need to know about them."

"Stop keeping me in the dark, dad. I have the right to know the full truth." William said.

"William...You will learn in time. I promise, now is not the time." His father said sadly.

"I don't understand your reasons as to why keep me in the dark especially now, when your time seems so short. I also can't bring myself to show my true emotions. Dad, I know it might be selfish of me to say this but...you have to keep fighting...I still need you...it's not fair that I lost mom when I was so young but to loose you as well? I...am not ready to say good bye." William said softly as he gripped his father's hand tighter as he felt his eyes watered but he managed to hold back those tears as he felt his father squeeze his hand softly in return.

"William...nothing in life is fair and one day you will learn the truth. Death comes for everyone, when their time comes for them to join the afterlife...regardless of the age or who that individual is. Do not think of it as good bye but a promise that someday, we will meet again. I will always be with you, even if you can't see or hear me. For I will always be in your heart." He said softly. "I have a gift for you...over in the closet. Could you go and get it?"

William gave his dad a confused look before releasing his dad's hand to go get the gift. He found a black metal box of some kind that had what appeared to be Egyptian hieroglyphics carved in the box. It looked old very old as he brought the box over to his father's bedside table where he looked at hieroglyphics in hopes of reading them but the hieroglyphics were damaged and blurred making it practically impossible to read but he was able to catch a few words like Anubis, and shadow games.

"Well go on...open it." His father said softly. William opened the box to reveal a gold Egyptian bracelet of a scorpion with Anubis' face on it along with the eye of Horus on it's forehead. Resting on what appeared to be expensive black silk. Basically it looked just like the movie prop from the return of the mummy, known as the bracelet of Anubis.

A flash of lightning from outside the window could be seen followed by a loud bang of thunder as the wind picked up as the rain came down even harder. the lights flickered in the room for a moment. William and his dad shared a look of confusion at just how weird of a timing that was. "Do you like it?" his father asked breaking the silence.

"Like it? More like I love it. I can't believe you actually bought me the movie prop from one of my favorite movies. Wait a minute...it appears like someone had tried to make this thing look more like a Millennium item." William said as he looked at it.

"I also noticed that, I think someone had a sense of humor when they made it. Glad you love it. However I actually got that in a antique store...believe it or not. You see the store owner kept rambling about the item being cursed...and how strange things happened to whoever owned it. the owner was going to toss it in the trash but I bought it. Happened a few weeks right before I ended up so sick...it was meant to be a birthday gift for you..since I won't be here much longer...it's yours." his father gasped before breaking out into a bad coughing fit. Specks of blood was seen in the oxygen mask. William frowned.

"Dad...save your strength... you will get through this...I know you will." William said softly as he closed the box and slid it into his backpack.

"William...never forget that I love you...and that I'm so sorry...that I can't be there for you...anymore." His father said weakly as he breathed heavily through the mask.

"I love you too dad...just promise me, you'll keep fighting." William said just as a nurse entered the room.

"William...visiting hours are over. Your dad...needs to rest." A nurse said softly before she left the room. William than hugged his dad tightly as his dad returned the hug the best he could. William's eyes burned but he refused to cry or breakdown in front of his dad or in front of anyone really.

"We will meet again...someday, my son...until that day comes...be good, be safe and always trust your heart. I support whatever you do in life, just promise me you will never give into the darkness that you allowed inside you. Do not become the monster that you allowed inside your soul. Promise me, that you will not become that monster...the same one that you became when Selena died." William's father said softly in a firm tone.

"I'll try...but it will be hard to promise you that, dad...but i will try my hardest not to become that monster ever again. Anyways I will see you tomorrow, okay." William said while deep down he knew this would be the very last time he would ever see his father alive.

"Yeah, just know whatever happens that I will always be with you, my son. Live your life to the fullest...don't keep blaming yourself for what happened so long ago. Move on with your life and live life to the fullest. By the way your mother's book store she called it, The Enchanted Spellcaster's Book Store. Also no more street fights." William's dad said as they released each other. William than left the room silently as he walked down the almost empty hallways. The nurses all gave him sad looks but said nothing as he passed them.

Once outside the hospital he decided to just walk home instead of taking a taxi or the local bus transportation home. He chose to walk not caring in the slightest how he was getting soaked by the down pour of rain. He could no longer hold back his tears as he walked, his tears mixed evenly with the rain making it impossible to tell what were tears and what was rain water.

William was stubborn when it came to his emotions, and even though he could keep his temper under control when it was needed, he was still quick to anger depending on the situation. He made no sound as he walked.

He walked silently in the down pour of rain, his heart heavy with a deep sorrow. At one point he thought he almost bumped into someone as he heard someone call out to him but he was so lost in his thoughts that he ignored completely as he kept on walking. Somehow he walked straight to the graveyard as he stopped at a very familiar grave. A grave that he visited almost every day and tended to it. He stared at the tombstone sadly.

It still had the fresh yellow, red and orange snap dragons tied with a dark purple ribbon that he had left their earlier but he noticed another set of flowers were resting there as well in the shades of pink, red and yellow tied together with a sky blue ribbon.

"Your going to end up sick if you keep this up, Will." A soft female voice as he turned to see his best female friend Alex standing there holding an umbrella in one hand as a cloth grocery bag was in the other one. Her brown eyes held deep concern in them, behind her very thin red framed glasses. She had long wavy dark brown hair pulled up into a high pony tail. She was wearing a white turtleneck shirt under a blue denim jacket, dark blue jeans and black shoes.

"Did you leave these?" William asked her softly as she approached to stand beside him to pay respects.

"No. It's true that Selena was my best friend...but I have already accepted as well as come to terms that she's gone, until we meet again if the gods allow it. I have moved on with my life. Yes, I miss her as much as you do but I know she wouldn't want me sad and miserable for the rest of my life. However we both know who would leave Selena's favorite flowers other than you and her parents. Even if he no longer attends our school, hangs out with us or even live in the area. You two were as thick as thieves...practically brothers...now your enemies out to kill one another or each other. It's honestly rather sad and depressing how it came down to that."

"Ryan..." William said softly closing his eyes before they opened slowly with a deep sadness mixed with a burning anger and a pure bitterness intertwined with the sadness. Alex frowned as she caught his expression.

"William...you need to let it go and move on with your life...this isn't healthy. Selena wouldn't want you so...depressed...but I know it's hard for you to do so...especially now with how ill your father is." Alex said softly as she watched as William flinched at her words.

A heavy silence fell between them. William stared at the grave before slowly looking up at the sky not caring if the rain stung his eyes for a moment before turning to look at Alex. "My father is dying. No one can help him now." William said shattering the thick silence making Alex's eyes widen as she looked at him. "I knows we lost loved ones and friends over the years...but this is just too much for me to take."

"William...I know thismifht be stupid to ask but, how are you handling your emotions?" she asked softly in concern.

"Do you want the truth or a half lie?" William asked her.

"William, I'm serious." she said softly.

"So am I, which do you want to hear?" William asked her in a bitter tone.

"Truthfully, how are you doing?" Alex asked him.

"I'm angry, hurt, guilt ridden, sadden and I'm just broken beyond repair...I just don't know what to do or who to turn to. It's like I have to fake all my positive emotions more so than usual." William admitted. Alex was silent for a moment or two as she allowed him to rant before he sighed running a hand through his wet hair. "I just don't know anymore."

"I swear you can be a complete idiot at times, that is what friends are here for, William. Josh and I will always have your back, hell even my big brother who is over in Egypt right now. We are all here to listen, give ya some advice, and to make sure you don't do anything stupid or completely reckless. " Alex said after a minute or two. "Why must men be so damn stubborn all the time?"

"I know you guys, will always have my back. However to be fair, I don't really need a friendship speech right now, Alex." William said making her glare at him.

"I was never good at friendship speeches, that's Josh's department in our little group. In all seriousness though standing out here in this storm...is going to get you sick. Hell, I don't need to get sick either. However right now, you need to be strong for your dad, he wouldn't want you getting sick...and neither do Josh or myself. Come on, I'll walk ya home." She said softly. William shook his head as they walked.

"Why are you really out here?"William asked her as they walked.

She gave him a soft stare. "Afraid I'm stalking you like a creepy fan girl or something?" She teased him making him tense violently beside her as they walked.

"That's not remotely funny...have you seen just how scary they can be?" William asked her as she laughed.

"I swear there are times Josh and I believe your secretly afraid of women." Alex laughed softly.

"I am not!!!" William shouted looking embarrassed.

"Cool it Will, I was just teasing you. In all seriousness though your not my type and my heart is set on someone else. Look I saw you when I was leaving the farmer's market. You honestly looked like your whole world was crashing down all around you. You have the same expression on your face as you did when you were released from the hospital a day after Selena's death and before that huge funeral was being held. You also almost knocked me over while you were lost in your thoughts, and you also ignored me calling out your name. So I followed you out of concern...If you still don't believe me, than look at my bag. My mom wanted me to pick up a few things for her, besides picking up some things for my dad as well. The one thing I have noticed is that whenever your upset or troubled about something, you always somehow end up at Selena's grave. William, your father is a good man and I'm deeply sorry...to hear how bad he is and that I hope his journey to the afterlife will be a peaceful one. However you need to be more aware of your surroundings, if you aren't careful...something bad could happen to you."

"Just makes me even more determined to punch the first god of the dead that I see in the face...for all the bullshit he or she has put my broken heart through." William said making Alex frown at him.

"I wouldn't if I was you...Anubis would most likely eat you out of sheer spite and Hades wouldn't hesitate to turn you into dog food for Cerberus. Not sure about the other gods or goddesses of the underworld but it wouldn't be pretty." Alex said wincing.

"You think I would really care at that point? I would already be dead. If they kill me, does that make me double dead or something?" he asked in a bitter tone that held steel like edge to his voice. "Besides...they would deserve it, and it would make me feel better." William added bitterly as Alex shook her head.

"Be nice...Will, you know what I meant seeing how we use to mess around with dark magic and the supernatural stuff. We seen how dangerous that can be by provoking forces that we know nothing about. Besides the gods can be quite vengeful and cruel when they want to be. You don't need to piss them off. Well I better get home before my parents flips out with worry...I hope you have a good night...promise me, that you won't do anything stupid or reckless like you tried to do after Selena's funeral." She said softly in concern as they reached William's house.

"I promise." William said as he turned to go inside only to be yanked backwards so he could turn to face Alex again. She glared at him.

"I mean it William, The last thing Josh and I want to hear is that you left us as well. You almost did that day, when you tried taking your own life..." Alex said firmly.

"I promise Alex...I swear on my dueling deck...I won't be doing anything that reckless or that stupid ever again." William said

"Keep your word or else my spirit charmer deck is going to come collecting your head." She said firmly.

"I promise...However I still don't get pendulum summoning, link summoning or the XYZ summoning though." William said sighing.

"You'll learn it eventually. Seeing how you stopped watching the series after 5ds." She said before he blinked in confusion as she than pulled out a card from her pocket as she handed it to him.

"Add it to your deck...She is one of my favourite monsters who my soul is connected to, Wynn the wind charmer." She said firmly. William silently read it as he smiled.

"She will be a welcomed edition to my deck." He said only to blink as she handed him two more cards. "Josh asked me to give you this...said he wanted to give you a card that held part of his soul in it. Jurrac Protops. The last card my brother told me to give it to you, said it will help you in times of need." She said as William looked at the card.

"Is he serious?" William asked looking at the card called End of Anubis.

"It's my brother what do you expect? Look I know Josh's card as well as mine don't exactly fit your deck's theme compared to my brother's card but...it doesn't hurt to have them. I know you have the cards that Selena gave you in your deck but you never seem to be able to play them." Alex said as William's expression sadden.

"Alex, her cards aren't in my deck. I can't bring myself to use them...After she died...her mother gave me her deck as well as all her cards." William said softly with a sad look. "Ryan was pissed when she did that but said nothing."

"I wasn't aware you had her entire deck...no wonder you freeze whenever someone plays her favorite card and will surrender the game almost instantly upon someone playing that one card." Alex said softly as William gave her a soft glare before he decided to be a bit evil.

"So when are Josh and you going to become a official couple?" William asked as Alex's eyes widen before she blushed a bright crimson red color. Than almost as quickly she snarled as she narrowed her eyes in rage as she than hit him hard upside the head making him yell loudly in pain.

"Idiot!!!!!" she screamed.

"Alex, that was uncalled for!" William said rubbing the spot on his head.

"It was totally called for!!! Besides its none of your damn business...just know if you talk or say a word to anyone about my crush on Josh, let's just say that I will be more than happy to show you how the ancient Egyptians use to prepare their honored dead with their embalming tools for the trip to the after life, while your still very much alive." Alex growled bitterly in warning making William laugh nervously because he knew only to well that Alex would carry out that threat without hesitation.

"I won't say a word...just teasing ya." William said nervously. Alex than gave him a friendly warm smile.

"You better keep your word or else. Anyways see you latter, Will." she said before she hurried home. Thankfully she only lived two houses over from him.

William sighed as he watched as she reached her place safely before turning to face his house once more. His house was nothing fancy but it desperately needed a new paint job since large flakes of paint were peeling. Ever since his father went to the hospital, the house seemed to lost it's charm.

It now felt cold, unwelcoming, and laced with a deep sadness as it seemed to swallow up any form of joy or happiness. It once had a very happy, welcoming and warm atmosphere but after certain events happened over the years those feelings just seemed to disappear. Even when his friends came over it felt even more heavy and even more depressing.

He walked up the stairs of the porch to head inside as he took out his house keys to unlock the door. Once inside the house he locked the door behind him as kicked off his shoes by the door. He than headed upstairs to change his clothes, so he wouldn't end up sick. he was soon wearing a red turtleneck long sleeve shirt and dark blue jeans. His wet clothes were soon tossed into the wash to be cleaned and dried. He sat on his bed lost in thought, hoping beyond hope that his father would recover from his illness.

Growing bored at just starring up at his ceiling. He decided to watch some of his Yu-Gi-Oh episodes on his portable DVD player. He was too upset to eat anything as he just watched his episodes. At 10:45 PM that night his cellphone suddenly went off making him grab it to see it was from the hospital. He answered it knowing the news was grim. "Hello..." he said as he braced himself for the heart breaking news.

"William, this is Dr. Winters. I'm sorry to inform you this but your father Liam Dracon has passed away...we have already notified your grandmother... she will be coming up in a few days. I'm sorry for your loss." The doctor said as all hope of his father surviving this illness shattered inside William's already broken heart.

"Thanks...for everything Dr. Winters. Bye." William said before he hung up. William wanted to break down, scream and even cry at that very moment but he shook his head. He would mourn latter for his loss. He walked over to his back pack as he picked it up as he opened his backpack to pull out his bracelet to look at it some more.

Soon as he opened the box, the lights flickered violently, as a cold chill ran through him before everything settled down. Strangely the metal felt warm to the touch in his hands instead of being cold to the touch. He also thought it would be heavy due to it's appearance but it was actually very light. He than hovered it over his right wrist. only to be startled when the bracelet suddenly clamped down tightly onto his wrist automatically without warning.

"What the hell!? Shit...is it stuck or something!? Fuck!!! Let go of my wrist you damn thing!!!!" William yelled as he tried to pull the bracelet off but it held on tighter refusing to come off. William than tried every trick he knew in hopes of removing it from his wrist without resorting to breaking the damn thing. He eventually gave up trying to remove it after a good hour of fighting with it. At one point he swore that the bracelet was almost laughing at him.

His cell phone than went off again as he looked at the caller ID only to see it was from his best friend Josh. It really shouldn't have surprised him considering Josh's mom worked at the hospital and would have told her son to check up on him.

"Hello?" William asked.

"Will, it's me, Josh. My mom just told me about your dad...how are you holding up truthfully?" William's best friend asked softly.

"Doing as well as I can...considering the circumstances." William said softly with a heavy heart.

"My mom and me, don't think you should be alone right now. So she told me to tell ya that you are more than welcome to stay with us until your grandmother arrives. We could duel and watch movies. Wait...speaking of duels how did the tournament go? Did you win?"

William tried to smile but his heart felt shattered even more so than it already was. It was like all the glue that held his already broken heart together had given way causing those shattered shards to break even more so. At this rate he hardly doubt that he had any light left within his soul. Also the mask that he had carefully created to hide the monster that was inside him, felt like it was cracking.

"I dropped out of the finals to be with my dad...but sure, I'll come over so we can duel or whatever." William said softly.

"Will, I know when your hiding something or when something is troubling you, your normally more excited about dueling than this." Josh said softly. "I know your dad's passing is hard but I know something else is bothering you."

"Do you remember Mrs. Smith?" William asked.

"Isn't she the crazy old lady who lost her mind from down the street of me...the same one who went bat shit crazy as she screamed something about the barrier between life, shadow and death are weakening besides saying something like how the gods of old are searching for the new lord of the dead or something along those lines?" Josh asked after a minute or two.

"Yep, same lady whose son was my homeroom teacher who got his head blown off and how her two grandsons my teacher's twin boys that were in my class got killed." William said bitterly.

"Will, I thought you got over that incident. It's been two years man, what happened that day...it wasn't your fault for what Mr. Ferris did...You can't keep reliving that day. I know how much Selena meant to you but she wouldn't want you miserable forever. Also what went down between Ryan and you at her funeral...that wasn't your fault either...but had Alex, Alex's older brother and I had not interfered...You two really were gonna kill each other. It was like you two were possessed by angry spirits or something. That was terrifying as hell, we never seen you like that before." Josh said sadly.

"I hate to say it Josh, but if Ryan and I ever meet up again...I don't think anyone is going to be able to stop us from killing each other. Whatever friendship we once had was destroyed far beyond repair that day in the cemetery." William said as he glanced at a photo on his desk of happier times that showed his friends along with his girlfriend in the picture all smiling and laughing.

"That's exactly what Alex and I fear the most about. So what about Mrs. Smith exactly?" Josh asked.

"She said something that rattled me earlier...sort of brought up the unwanted memories of the past...look I'll tell ya more about it in person, hopefully without sounding completely crazy or insane." William said running a hand through his hair out of a nervous habit.

"Alright but seriously don't do anything stupid. Do you want my mom and I to come pick you up? That storm outside looks like it's getting worse by the second." Josh said just a large lightning flash followed by a loud crash of thunder was heard.

"I'll be okay...besides it would be quicker if I just take the old short cut." William said.

"Will, just be careful okay? I got a really bad feeling about this. That short cut of yours isn't as safe as it use to be." Josh said in concern.

"I'll be fine. If I don't show up in the next hour or so...just come get me. Okay?" Will said with a smirk.

"Fine...but Will just know if I have to run down that stupid short cut of yours, down those back allies and through those woods just to collect your sorry hide in this mess, I'm going to bleach your hair bright bubblegum pink as I let Alex torture you with those ancient Egyptian tools of hers." Josh grumbled making William smirk.

"Like to see you just try to do that...without the fear of what I'll do to ya guys afterwards, you know what I am like." William laughed.

"Keep it up Dracon, and I'll show you what my Dinosaur deck can really do!" Josh growled out.

"My deck is going to send your dinosaurs back to the graveyard where they belong." William said feeling like a weight was lifted off of him even if just for a short while as he grabbed his larger back to pack.

"I got new cards that I added to my deck...you are so going down zombie breath!" Josh said firmly as he laughed.

"I seriously doubt that. See ya in a few." William said with a small smile.

"Okay...just be careful." Josh said before hanging up as William shook his head and hung up.

William sighed as he packed up his bag making sure he had all his Yu-Gi-Oh cards with him including his deck. He packed other things inside his bag as well. He than placed his shoes on and grabbed his black hooded jacket that honestly looked like a organization 13's jacket from the Kingdom hearts videogame series. He grabbed a flashlight just to be safe.

William than locked up his house and started to run down his short cut to Josh's house. Josh wasn't kidding around the storm had gotten much worse. the heavy down pour of rain, the darkness and the wind made it harder to see even with the flashlight in William's left hand.

William began regretting his decision to walk or in his case run in this mess. Thunder rumbled violently over head as lightning flashed over head. While William was running, he suddenly heard faint chanting in a unfamiliar language which made him pause to look around in confusion.

The ally was lit up in flash of lightning revealing a dark figure standing off to the side of one alley watching him. He narrowed his eyes as he flashed his flashlight in that direction, only to see Mrs. Smith standing there in her hospital gown. She was soaked to the bone.

"Mrs. Smith?!" William asked in complete confusion as he took a step forward only to freeze in fear as he got a better look at her. She stood there soaked to the bone but William froze when he saw her eyes, they were solid black with something like black ink oozing down from her eyes. Also something black appeared to be coming from her mouth as it flowed downwards like thick black ink.

What the hell is going on?! He wondered. Is this some sort of prank? No...something is seriously wrong here...my instincts are screaming at me to run.

"Kheba...mesha...ee...ankh...em ta...hena...nebet...shaa...ee...renpet!" Mrs. Smith chanted loudly as the storm seemed to grow even more violently around them. A feeling of fear slammed into William like a sludge hammer at this point. It felt like he was in the middle of a horror movie, only this was for real as he stared at her as she chanted loudly. Shadows in the alley seemed to be moving in unnatural ways in the light of his flash light, the light began to dim just as the darkness grew even thicker around them in a unnatural way as heavy mist or fog rolled in. "Shaaa...ne...em...nebet!"

William without hesitation than bolted down a side alley not waiting to see what would happen next. All he knew was that he had to get away as fast as possible, just like his instincts were screaming about seconds ago. He had seen enough horror movies to know when it was time to run for your life. He heard that strange chanting growing louder all around him as he ran. He no longer recognized his surroundings as he ran in a pure panic in thick mist or fog.

He felt the bracelet on his wrist tremble violently as it even tightened around his wrist painfully as he ignore it, completely unaware that eyes on the Anubis head of the bracelet had opened revealing two glowing blood red eyes as the eye of horus began glowing brightly on it's forehead. A small burning sensation was felt on his forehead but he ignored it as he ran.

Suddenly loud clash of lightning was heard followed by a blinding white flash that lit up the entire area. A burst of pain like nothing William had ever felt before tore through his body, the flash light in his hand had even exploded as a scream of pain froze in his throat before everything went black as his body collapsed to the cold wet ground.

The very last thing he saw in his mind was the image of a very old and mummified looking Anubis starring down right at him as the lord of the dead than moved his razor sharp claw like hand towards him as he seemed to be reaching out to him, seconds before Anubis than morphed into a healthy Egyptian version of himself that gave him a sad look before William knew nothing more.

Beeping sounds caused William to slowly open his eyes. His vision danced in and out of focus for a few minutes before everything became clear. He found himself in what appeared to be a hospital room. he was hooked up to a heart monitor and had a oxygen mask on besides Ivs in his arms. He was confused as he slowly sat up hissing in pain as he than noticed his left hand was in bandages. he than reached up and removed the oxygen mask.

"Oh good...your awake...You gave my grandson, the hospital staff and I quite the scare, young man." A familiar elderly sounding voice said making William turn his head to see someone who could have easily passed for Yugi's grandfather from his favorite anime series sitting beside his bedside.

"W-where am I?" William asked slowly as he tried to sort out his mind.

"You are at Domino City's Hospital, I found you unconscious while badly injured outside my game shop about a week ago, the doctors said your injuries matched someone who was struck by lightning. You gave my grandson and me a terrible fright. Besides the entire hospital staff...I been coming by each day to see how you been doing." The elderly man said.

"I'm sorry but could you repeat what city I am in and what country I am in?" William asked with a very freaked out expression on his face. He was on the verge to start hyperventilating. This isn't happening...this is not possible. His mind frantically raced.

"Your in Domino City, Japan..." The man said as William's eyes widen as he felt his heart stop. "Are you okay? You look like you seen a ghost."

"Last thing I remember is being in America..." William said swallowing thickly with A very freaked out expression on his face. Dead silence hung in the air as William's mind raced frantically as it tried to sort out the mess that he suddenly found himself in.

How the fuck is this even possible!? oh fuck! what season is this?! Gah!!! I can't tell anyone I am from a completely different dimension without sounding like a crazy person!!! oh fuck, my life! Which god or whoever the fuck did I piss off in another life to deserve this!? How!? How is this possible?! Oh gods, did I die and end up in weird after life where my favorite anime series is real?! Shit! I know too much about the millennium items, the Pharaoh's name and everything that happens in the series!! Oh gods of Egypt, wasn't Yami a bit of A psychopath in season zero known as the forbidden season?!! Shit!!!! William freaked out violently inside his head while keeping a straight face void of emotion even though he was paler than he should have been and had a wide eyed expression that clearly showed his distress. Alex, my grandmother and Josh are so going to murder me when or if I ever get back home! Fuck!!!!

The elderly man's eyes sadden a bit but he appeared rather calm. He let out a soft sigh as he saw the distress in William's eyes that even mirrored his expression. "That's what the doctors and I feared would be the case...due to your injuries... there was a very high possibility of you waking up with some form of amnesia." He said before going completely silent as he began thinking of something. "I guess that means you will become my responsibility. Good thing I have that extra guest room at my place, which will now become your room. I don't expect you to pay rent, so you can make it up by helping me around in my shop. I know my daughter in law has been wanting to rent that room out but it wouldn't be right if I turn a blind eye and leave a kid with amnesia to wonder the streets of Domino City with no place to go."

William said nothing as he let Mr. Muto talk. "I don't want to be a burden on you or your family." William said after a moment while feeling rather awkward and rather uncomfortable in his current situation.

"You won't be. Anyways my name is Solomon Muto, I am the owner of the Turtle Game Shop. However you can call me Grandpa or Mr. Muto. Do you remember your name?"

"It's William Kiryu Dracon, I'm sixteen years old." William said.

"I'm sorry...did you say your last name is Dracon?" Mr. Muto asked with wide eyes.

"That's right..." William said slowly in confusion as he watched how Yugi's grandfather stared at him as though he now recognized him or something. However Mr. Muto's eyes than landed on the gold bracelet on William's right wrist.

"Is that the bracelet of Anubis!?" He yelled with wide eyes.

"Huh? Oh yeah...my bracelet." William said as he let Yugi's grandfather look at the bracelet even though the bracelet refused to come off of him.

"Legends have it that the millennium god items could only be possessed by a direct descendent of those shares the same blood or soul as the god or goddess the item was named after. That anyone who was not of blood or possessed that soul who dared tried to use a god item would be torn apart violently by the power the item possesses, fed to the shadows or be erased from existence by the item it self. Seeing how your still alive my boy...I believe you were destined to possess it. However the one who possesses the bracelet, also gains control of the army of the dead...be very careful how you use this item. the god items are rumored to be far stronger and more deadlier than the normal millennium items." Yugi's grandfather said making William stare at him like he grew a second head or something.

A doctor walked in. The doctor had had long wavy blond hair pulled back in a low hanging pony-tail, dark blue eyes behind his glasses, he wore a white doctor jacket over a grey shirt, black jeans and black shoes. in his hand was a clip board. "Oh good our young patient has returned to the land of the living...I'm Dr. Wakasa. I been tending to you since you were brought in. I must say you seem to be healing a lot faster than normal people would, after being struck by lightning and knocked into a slight coma. You are extremely lucky to still be alive...now than what do you remember?"

"Last thing I remember is being in America...only to wake up here...I know who I am and other basic things that aren't that important right now. My full name is William Kiryu Dracon, and I am sixteen years old." William said looking uneasy. He felt relief when he spotted his backpack nearby along with his jacket and shoes.

"Memory loss...we were afraid that would be the case. Not surprising considering how badly injured you were when Mr. Muto and his grandson found you. I take it your taking the boy into your custody Mr. Muto as his temporary guardian until his memories return?" The doctor asked.

"Yes." Mr. Muto said.

"Very well than...I have some paperwork your going to need to fill out in my office Mr. Muto. William, your very lucky to still be alive...you are going to be sore and stiff for a while. Your left hand is going to be bandaged up for at least a month or so due to how badly burnt it was. Also I will be asking you to see a specialist who deals with amnesia patients in a few weeks besides a burn specialist. You will be released from the hospital in a couple of days, maybe sooner depending on how fast your healing. We want to make sure your fully okay before we release you." Dr. Wakasa said as he adjusted his glasses.

William only nodded since he had no idea what to say or do right now. I don't have a clue what to do. I better just play along with this amnesia story, until I can figure out what the hell is going on. I really, really need to talk to Ishizu or Shadi maybe one of them could tell me what the Hell is going on or help me figure this mess out. I am so confused right now. I highly doubt my cell phone is going to be able contact my friends or my grandmother...This is just not my day. William thought silently to himself.

He was pulled from his thoughts as Mr. Muto lightly patted his shoulder making him turn to face him. "You will be okay...do not worry. I'm sure your memory will come back to you sooner or latter. Anyways...I will see you tomorrow and I'll bring my grandson and daughter in law with me so they can meet you. In the mean time try to get some rest." Mr. Muto said with a smile before he stood up and left the room with Dr. Wakasa.

William slumped back against the bed with his mind trying to figure this mess out. "I hate hospitals..." William muttered before exhaustion set in making him drift back to unconsciousness once more.

That night at the game shop. Yugi jumped as he heard his mother screaming in rage. Yugi nervously entered the kitchen. Only to see his mother was angry with his grandfather. "You did what!? Dad, have you lost your mind we know nothing about this boy, and you instantly agreed to take the kid in without speaking to me about this first! He could be a thief, a possible bully or a complete delinquent!!" Yugi's mother screamed as she slammed her hands down on the kitchen counter as she turned to glare at Yugi's grandfather.

Her dark blue color eyes narrowed in rage as Yugi swore his mother's shoulder length black hair flared upwards in a demonic sort of way making Yugi's grandfather shrink back from her in fear. "I have reasons to believe that the boy, might be Elizabeth's and Liam's son...his name is William Kiryu Dracon. The same name their son has and he is the spitting image of Liam, when Liam was his age but the only difference is the hair color." Yugi's grandfather said as Yugi's mother froze as her eyes widen.

"Dad, are you sure it's really him?" Yugi's mom said slowly as all anger left her face to turn into one of complete concern and worry.

"I'm almost positive of it...however since William is suffering amnesia it's hard to tell if he is who I believe he is. However there is no denying the resemblance." Yugi's grandpa said firmly.

"Fine...the boy can stay as long as he keeps his grades up and helps out around here." Yugi's mother said sighing in defeat before going back to washing dishes. "We will all meet him tomorrow, even if I'm not at all happy about this."

Yugi was confused but didn't question his grandfather or his mother. His mind was on the red haired boy that they found half dead over a week ago. Yugi still remembered that morning clearly.

That morning Yugi was getting ready to meet up with Tea, when he spotted the teen laying on the sidewalk in a pool of rain water from the night before, soaken wet, badly injured, his left hand badly burnt with shards of something embedded in his burnt skin. The fact the boy had blood oozing from the corners of his mouth, his body trembling violently, as the boy's chest moved so weakly up and down.

Yugi screamed for his grandpa as he rushed to the injured boy's side. His grandfather was close behind him as he told Yugi to call for an ambulance and to bring a blanket. Yugi did as he was told as an ambulance arrived twenty minutes later. During those tense moments Yugi's grandpa was going everything he could to stabilize the teen until medics could take over.

Yugi even held the boy's head carefully on his lap to help keep the boy from drowning in his own blood. Even though Yugi had never meet the teen before, he felt like he knew him from somewhere and strangely felt protective of him. When the medics were moving the teen the chain on his necklace broke causing the locket to slide off of him. Yugi carefully picked it up off the ground, to hang on to until he could return it to its rightful owner.

It been a long week of waiting to hear how the teen was doing. Hearing that the teen known as William would now be living with them, until his memories return he hoped that the boy wasn't a bully and that they would get a long. Yugi went to work on his millennium puzzle a bit. On the counter beside his puzzle, the locket rested safely beside it.

At the hospital the bracelet of Anubis glowed as the shadows in the room swirled around just as black sand than slowly bubbled up from the tile floor as it rose upwards as it took the form of a mummified Anubis warrior. It's glowing blood red eyes landed on William before it approached him. It's claw like hand than grabbed the hilt of it's sword as it slowly removed it from his hip.

Only for the bracelet to glow brightly just as William's eyes to snap open glowing solid blood red as he sat up swiftly just as his hair flared out wildly in a demonic sort of way as it seemed grow longer by several inches. The Anubis warrior froze in place as it stared at William.

The bracelet was trembling violently as the scorpion tail of the bracelet moved wildly. Its eyes were wide open as the eye symbol glowed. On William's forehead the same eye of Horus appeared on his forehead glowing brightly.

The Anubis warrior held William's gaze before it lowered it's sword and slowly dropped down to one knee to show a sign of loyalty and respect. William stared at him before finally nodding. The Anubis warrior closed its eyes as it seemed to give a terrifying smile before vanishing in a swirl of black sand.

William sat there in complete silence as he listened to what was happening in the hallways of the hospital both good and the bad. He placed his hands over his ears as voices echoed all around him loudly. Voices of people who were no longer among the living. Lost souls, unable to find their way. The bracelet glowed brightly causing the voices to fall silent almost instantly allowing William to sort through his own thoughts for a moment or two.

William than carefully turned off the machines as he pulled off the wires and even the ivs as he got out of the bed. he approached the window to stare out into the city. His good hand lightly pressed against the cold glass. His eyes closed as they stopped glowing blood red to reveal bright yellow eyes that were in no way human.

"A second chance to set things right." A deeper voice compared to William's normal voice spoke however this voice held a cold deadly edge to it that screamed authority and danger. "Forgive me, for what I have done, for I have hurt my reincarnation in a way I never meant to do." he whispered softly under his breath as he closed his eyes.
