- The Haddock House, New Berk.

An A-frame type house stood on the secluded side of the village, high up and surrounded by trees. The front door was pushed open, and Hiccup stepped out towards the porch with a hot cocoa mug in his hand, then took a seat on steps that led down to the village.

Hiccup turned around to look at his house. It was functionally finished, he had all that he, and Astrid needed to live, but at the same time, it needed decorations and paintings. He turned his face toward the village below. Dragons basking on the rooftops, still waiting for the day to start, he thinks he knows the theme of his decorations now. Astrid took a seat next to him, and rested her head on his shoulder.

"30 minutes left before the bell, wanna cook with me?".

- The Kitchen.

Astrid started a fire, and Hiccup placed an iron pan over it. Cooking with Astrid was a wild experience, Hiccup thanked god his father taught him how to cook. He wondered what would be his father's reaction to his future-wife's meal. This is the first time Hiccup, and Astrid cooked together after he mostly did the extinguisher's job. There were bits of close calls, but after the food was finally on the table, it was worth it. He loves this... he loves her.

- Blacksmith Shop, New Berk.

On his work bench, Hiccup cut a piece of flat Gronckle iron into a long square shape, and then created stars, and dragons shaped holes with the tools, and hammer. He heard a creak, and then a small caress of wind ruffled the papers on his bench.

"Sure, I know you're not behind me.".

The Light Fury let go of her camouflage, *You sure do have sarcasm.*

"And I am known for it even more than being chief or riding Toothless." He chuckled, "How are you, Luna?".

This is not the first time he, and Luna had met, but most of it ended up being a disaster. The closest thing to get along was when she saved his life, but today she finally made an effort to come see him INSIDE A BUILDING! Maybe they could finally befriend each other

*It's Princess Luminara, Hiccup.* Or maybe not.

"Ok, Chief Hiccup Horrendous Haddock The 3rd." Light Fury rolled her eyes at his self introduction.

"GOBBER!" Snotlout's shout came from the stall.

Hiccup got off his desk, and then approached the counter.

"Gobber, and Mom went out to fix Sven's house. What do you need?" Hiccup asked.

"Gronckle paint." Snotlout answered, and then looked at Light Fury, "Wow! You two are finally getting along!"

"NO!" Light Fury roared right at the same time that Hiccup shouted, rushing to the counter, and pushed him away to talk to Snotlout.

*Listen carefully, human. I never wanted to be friends with him!* Luna declared, *What an arrogant, and naive human, thinking we all could live in peace by just touching heads.*.

"What did I ever do to you!?" Hiccup asked, "I'm just trying to make peace!" he patted Snotlout to move to the side, and then pushed Luna to look outside.

Vikings and dragons weaving along the plaza, some doing their own stuff, and some were sharing activity. It's a bit chaotic, but this is what every day is like when there's no war, and they're all happy too despite how crazy, and bizzare it looked.

"And I'm not naive, ok? It's never easy, ask anyone!" He added, and Snotlout showed off his missing tooth. Hookfang shook his head, and showed Luna his scar.

This is for Toothless, this is for Toothless! Hiccup thought as he took a deep breath.

"Look, I never wanted to be friends with you, either, just like Snotlout never wanted to be friends with me. Did you, Lout?" Hiccup turned to the owner of the name.

"No! Not at all! I hated your guts." Snotlout laughed back proudly.

"Yeah, me too." Hiccup chuckled, and then turned to the Light Fury, "If Fishlegs wasn't our best friend, we'd already roast each other to death.".

"You did it the last time we went on the mission!".

"Hey! It's not my fault you forgot to fireproof your OWN butt!".

"I didn't! The paint you gave me wasn't enough!"

*GUYS!* The 2 men turned to Luna *Didn't you come here for something else?*

Hiccup picked up a jar, and handed it to Snotlout.

"It's for Fishlegs's birthday, right?" Hiccup asked .

"Yup! Tuffnut and I are making him a stroller." Snotlout opened the jar.

"Do you wanna measure Fishmeat? I'm babysitting him today." Hiccup asked.

"Measurements are for nerds" Snotlout replied indignantly, and closed the jar. Walking toward Hookfang, "And lastly, if you really wanna be with that Crazy Night Fury, you have to take the whole package, if that's not ok to you, then I wish Toothless luck on being forced to lift up to expectations.".

Hiccup watched Snotlout hop on his dragon, and fly away. Then turned back to Luna.

"Snotlout, and I eventually sort it out later. It might not end the same way for you, and me, but at least we could try to get along for Toothless." he offered his hand, "Deal?".

Please work, please work! He thought as Luna looked at his hand.

*I don't want us to keep pretending around Toothless, his happiness would be a lie if we do.* Luna looked at him, *He made me feel like I belonged, and I don't want to lose him… but I don't want him to lose his best friend too.*.

"Well… Life yearns for belonging, and the world has a weird way of granting it." Hiccup chuckled, "It might last a lifetime…" Hiccup looked over at Gobber who was returning with Valka.

Gobber had been Stoick's best friend till the last moment of his life, and Valka had never stopped loving him. Both his father's best friend, and the love of his life, still miss the man every day as their life still goes on.

"But in some cases it might not last forever…" Hiccup admitted, "And that's okay, because the memories are. He's my best friend, I want him to be happy".

This is my last attempt, if she won't open up, fine, I'll hang out with Toothless only when she's not around, Hiccup thought as she sighed.

*Okay. I'll give us a chance… for Toothless.* She said finally, *But I won't promise to not fire any blasts if I am being threatened.*

"Sure." Hiccup smiled, his hand has almost reached her, but...

"FISHMEAT DROP IT NOW!".

Both Hiccup, and Luna jerked in panic at Gobber's voice, and then turned to Fishmeat. He was laying on his back, playing with a DAGGER!

The Gronckle hatchling threw the metal weapon away in shock. It flew up, and then down, right into one of his own hind legs. She screamed in shock as 2 humans burst inside, while Hiccup rushed to catch the hatchling before it hit the ground.

"Odin's ghost." the female human gasped.

"Where is Fishlegs, and his mom?" One hand human asked.

"Feeding Scauldrons blue oleanders." Hiccup looked at the wound.

*What are you doing, take it out!* Luna roared.

"He'll lose blood if we do." Hiccup replied, and used a cloth to tie around the hatching leg, "We must bring him to Gothi.".

Hiccup picked the hatching up in his arms, and rushed out from the nest. Luna rushed after him, and dived under his legs, getting him riding on her back. 2 humans followed close with their dragon.

They landed in front of a small hut. An elderly, short, and scrawny female human with thick wavy gray hair, and a stick called 'Gothi' came out to check the injured hatching. Hiccup started humming the melody of the Lullaby she remembered Toothless sang to Magnus.

Luna didn't know what Gothi was doing, but it was obviously painful to the hatchling. Attack! They are hurting the hatchling! Her instincts screamed, but before she took a step forward, a wing was gently placed on her back.

*It's okay.* Toothless crooned gently.

Humans and dragons started gathering around. Horrified, but at the same time, worried. She remembered some of them from the time they fought against the white-hair man. They're all here for the hatchling.

"It's ok, baby" & *You're doing good, hatchling*

For 20 years of opening her eyes to life, Luna has never ever seen a dragon care about a human, let alone this many humans care about a dragon… until Toothless, and Hiccup.

"*Fishmeat!*" Fishlegs, and Meatlug ran to the hatching after the tending was done.

Fishlegs held Fishmeat close as the hatchling licked his face, and Meatlug crooned at them. Both dragons and humans smiled in relief. Hiccup stood up, and walked to her.

"Thank you." She can tell he meant it.

"Do you want to come to my birthday party tomorrow?" Fishleg asked her, still holding Fishmeat in his arms.

Luna turned to Toothless, what does his birthday have to do with her? What is a 'party'?

*It's his way of thanking you.* Toothless reassured her, *It will be loud, and weird, but harmless, I promise.*.
