Chapter 3 Two Years of Terror.

"PERCY GET BACK HERE AND GIVE ME BACK MY SCARF!" A roar is heard as 9 year old boy runs off with a white scarf giggling as the owner runs after him in the guild. Everyone is laughing hard as Natsu has never once lost his scarf and yet every now and then Percy would be able to steal it without him realizing it and run off with Natsu hot on his trail. He then runs underneath Elfman and jumps behind the bar before cackling "Make me" as he runs around the whole guild.

Gray can't stop laughing but forgot to keep his shirt on. Percy sees this and dashes towards the shirt grabbing it before he notices anything letting Natsu and Gray bump into each other and momentarily distracted they start fighting forgetting the scarf and shirt.

Mira walks behind Percy and leans over him "Percy its not nice to steal from anyone." Percy smiles cheekily. "Its not my fault Gray's clothes are afraid of him." Causing another round of laughter as Elfman cant stop laughing while Cana chokes on her drink before joining in.

Ever since Mira and Elfman took Percy in as part of their new family, Fairy Tail has never been livelier. Percy's curiosity had no limits and was interested in every member of the guild. Even the hardened memberes of the Raijinshu couldn't help but smile as Percy asked all sorts of questions. But Makarov didn't realize that Percy was a troublemaker back in his world and with Mirajane as a big influencer Percy had rediscovered his gift of pranking people. His first victim, the master of Fairy Tail himself.

FLASHBACK MARCH X783

Makarov wakes up to the sounds of birds chirping and stretches as he wakes up he doesn't realize anything is wrong. He walks to the bar passing by Laxus who takes one good look at him and falls down hard on his back laughing. Erza goes to check on whats wrong and sees Laxus pointing at his grandfather as he laughs uncontrollably. She looks at her surrogate father and has to walk back down the stairs laughing as she couldn't believe it. Makarov is still perplexed what did those two find so funny. He walks to the bar and asks Mira for a glass of water and at this point everyone in the guild is just dying of laughter. Mira returns with a mirror as she laughs knowing that he's about to lose it. Makarov looks at the mirror and is horrified. Someone drew on his face as he slept! And whats worse there was a message on it "Happy Birthday Midget Master". All of a sudden from behind Elfman walks Percy with a black marker in his hand and a big smile on his face indicating it was him all along. Everyone stops and stares at Percy baffled. Makarov gets up and walks towards Percy his face shadowed as he doesn't want anyone to know what he has planned. Once he reaches the boy, he smiles and laughs at the boy's audacity to prank him.

"Good job kid and thank you for remembering UNLIKE SOME OTHER MEMBERS" he shouts as everyone stops laughing and remembers they have yet to bring out their Master's presents. As the entire guild celebrates, Makarov pulls Percy aside, "Now you got lucky with me brat but understand that I won't take this lightly. However if you can prank everyone in the guild until my next birthday I will keep the punishment to a minimum, got it?" Percy smiles with a devilish grin. "Its on gramps." And he ran off planning his next prank.

FLASHBACK END

Ever since that day not one member of Fairy Tail was spared of Percy's pranks. A few days after the prank on Makarov, Elfman mysteriously showed up with a ballet dress with a tutu and leggings that fit his manly frame perfectly, scaring the crap out of the men and wowing the ladies. Mira and Percy were especially proud of that one. Later Wakaba's cigarette and Macao's pipe started blowing bubbles. When the two saw what happened they couldn't believe it Percy had tampered with their tobacco replacing them with bubble makers. Cana was taking a drink form a keg only to find it filled with water as was many other kegs. Nab was glues to the floor in front of the job board. Levy couldn't get off of her couch when she tried to reach for a book and Jet and Droy found themselves stuck together when they tried to help her. Within 6 months every member of Fairy Tail was pranked.

Not even the S-Class wizards were safe. Erza was returning from a difficult job hoping to have a nice bath only when she stepped out she found her skin turned to blue while her hair was green. Mira had believed Percy wouldn't prank her as she was his big sister, and she almost was right however it was a light prank as she was sprayed with water when she came to start her shift. Seeing Erza and Mira getting pranked proved too much for Laxus who decided to take a whole month away from the guild just to avoid Percy. He grabbed Natsu with him, the only other member of the guild who hadn't been pranked, and left on an S-Class quest. They were hoping that the time off would tire Percy as he would eventually give up. Upon their return as soon as they opened the doors to the guild, they were welcomed by a current of water splashing onto them from the ceiling and a smiling Percy who had claimed victory over the entire guild. Looking at each other Laxus and Natsu laughed together while lifting Percy on their shoulders as the guild cheered for his victory.

Makarov would always claim that he intended to get pranked by Percy in order to boost his morale and to let him have fun. Though there were times where he and the guild had to step in when Percy was feeling down.

FLASHBACK AUGUST 16 X783

The day felt strange to Fairy Tail members. It wasn't as lively as before. Natsu approached Mira at the bar who looked sad. "Mira-chan whats wrong? Did someone insult you in the studio?" Mira shakes her head "Its Percy, today is his birthday and the day he came to us, but its also the day his mother was hurt." Natsu reflects on this as do Loke Gray and Erza. Laxus hears that from the second floor and organizes his team to prepare a party. "Oi Mira go bring Percy here, but give us time to prepare. Natsu, Elfman, Loke, head to the bakery and bring the largest blue cake they have. Gray help Fried make an ice rink." Laxus begins ordering people left and right to make sure Percy has the best birthday party Fairy Tail have seen. Makarov can't help feeling proud for his grandson. He knows that Laxus was in pain when Lisanna died and had tried to cover it up, but ever since Percy came in he has changed for the better showing the qualities he once had that convinced Precht to make him Master.

Mira went back to their house and found Percy outside looking at the sunset lost in thought "Whats wrong Percy?" Percy looks up at his big sister and smiles trying not to worry her "Ah its nothing" he says but Mira doesn't buy it. She looks at him reassuringly "Percy you don't have to hide your pain. Whenever you're hurting you can always let us know After all we're a family." Percy drops the smile and closes his eyes "Its my mother. I miss her so much. She always had made my birthday feel special no matter how hard times were." Percy's eyes start to water at the memory of his mother and Mira hugs him as he weeps into her shoulder rubbing his back. "I know how you feel Percy. Lisanna always had planned Elfman and my birthdays so many times making sure we were happy no matter what. When she had gone it left a large void for us. But the guild helped me and always made me feel welcome." She lets go of him for a moment and stands up before lending a hand. "Now come master wants us for something."

Percy and Mira walk towards the guild, while everyone watches on and gossip behind them about how strange that the cover girl of the Sorceror Weekly magazines is walking with a child. The two of them ignore the gossip and walk towards the door. "Hmm something is off wait outside for a bit I'll let you know when to come in." Mira walks inside and sneaks to Laxus's position "Is everything set?" She whispers to him trying to make sure Percy can't hear them. Laxus nods his head and signals for Levy to let Percy in. Out of all the girls in the guild, other than Mira and Erza, Levy is the one who is closest to him as she always tried to help him read but notices him struggling as words keep flying whenever he tries to read and reassures him that he is alright.

Percy waits impatiently tapping his feet on the pavement before he sees Levy walk out. "Levy whats going on?" he asks irritated. Levy just shrugs "Im not sure maybe we can find out together." They both walk into the guild when all of a sudden.

"SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PERCY!" rings all over the guild as everyone jumps out with huge smiles on their faces. A banner is placed on the second floor "Happy Birthday to our newest member Percy" Presents have been set on one side and a large blue cake has been placed at the head table. Stunned, Percy looks at Levy who smiles and points to Laxus. "You've been with us for a whole year and made everyone's life that much more entertaining. Thank you for bringing back the fun and excitement that the guild lacked for a long time" Laxus says. Erza walks over to Percy who is holding back tears and hugs him "Let your feelings flow Percy, you don't have to hold back anything."

Percy just couldn't hold back and starts crying hard "THANK YOU, YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST" he cries out hugging Erza as hard as he could before letting go with a huge smile on his face. Natsu carries Percy on his shoulders as Loke and Elfmann carry the cake closer with 9 candles on top. "Come on Percy make a wish" Natsu urges "Aye Percy make a wish" Happy repeats as he's flying around Percy. Percy thinks for a bit and blows out the candles letting a cheer roar through the crowd. After that they gave him the biggest slice of the cake before letting everyone take a piece. Once the cake has been eaten, Gray and Fried approach Percy with smirks on their faces. "Percy come with us we have another surprise for you" Gray lends his out for Percy who takes it and walks with them while everyone else follows. They walk to the back of the guild and exit only to see an ice rink set up. Fried steps forward and tells him "Gray was able to construct the rink but knowing you Percy you wouldn't use it unless everyone could so I enchanted it so that every member of Fairy Tail can glide without problems."

Percy smiles and runs to the rink as does everyone. Due to his affinity with the water, it was a surprise to no one that Percy could skate so well without needing any of the gear. Yet he always wanted to enjoy the ice with friends and family so he never did ask for one. Now that everyone could play on the ice he was willing to have as much fun as he could. There were races, games, statues made and so much more. By the time everyone had their fill it was time for presents.

Everyone headed back inside and Percy approached the pile of presents. He gently placed each present on the table and opened them gently. Cana had gotten him his own set of fortune cards to play with her, Loke had somehow gotten him a fresh set of clothes that he said would attract the ladies, Levy found a book written in Greek that he could understand easily, Reedus had painted a picture of him with the entire guild, Gray had made an ice sculpture of a Pegasus, Erza gave him one of her swords which felt right when he held it. After each present was given Makarov descends and in his hand the stamp of Fairy Tail. Percy was still an unofficial member of the guild but now it was time to make it official. So proud of his guild, he mimicked Gray and took off his shirt before aiming it directly in the middle of his chest with a sea green emblem. He would always be proud to call himself a member of Fairy Tail.

FLASHBACK ENDED.

Percy never forgot how much the guild did for him and always kept a smile on his face. He started celebrating every member's birthday and whenever he noticed one feeling down he was the first to make his way to them and cheer them up. To him Fairy Tail was more than just a guild or even a family. Fairy Tail was his home. And he vowed that no harm will come to his home.
