Chapter 4: The Celestial Mage and the Demigod.

"Again" Erza orders her opponent who rushes towards her, sword drawn. She's able to parry him but his strikes are rapid and fierce. She stays on the defensive smiling at her opponent before pushing back, going on the offensive. Her opponent dodges and parries as much as he can but he doesn't realize that with every dodge he's getting closer to a wall. By the time he tries a second offensive, Erza's sword is at his throat "Wow Erza, you outplayed me again" he says smiling as he accepts defeat.

Erza smiles and sheaths her sword. "You did really well yourself Percy. That last volley was faster than before. And you're using your reflexes to counter a larger and stronger opponent instead of just blocking my strikes. But remember to stay aware of your surroundings after all battles can be won or lost based on the terrain and we swordsmen and swordswomen must stay aware of our surroundings at all times." Percy listens attentively to every word she says. He wanted to be able to fight with a sword just like Erza and he will never regret the day he asked her to train him.

FLASHBACK SEPTEMBER X783

Percy takes a deep breath to calm his nerves before approaching Erza whos in the middle of Natsu and Gray pushing the both of them off each other. Erza notices him coming over to her and asks "Percy is something wrong?" Percy shakes his head and with a straight face he asks "I want you to train me with the sword?" Natsu and Gray look at the kid with stunned and horrified looks as do everyone in the guild barring Mira, Laxus, and Makarov. Erza studies her little brother and asks "Why do you wish to learn how to fight with the sword?" Percy's eyes don't waver they stay strong as he responds "To protect my home and family. I don't ever want to be a burden for you guys and I want to help you out. Also I want to make sure that no one hurts my friends." Erza closes her eyes and smiles "Meet me tomorrow at sunset sharp, there we will begin your training."

FLASHBACK END

Ever since Erza and Percy have sparred every sunset nonstop. Erza drilled him hard on how to handle a sword and how to swing it before setting up training dummies when they first began. She noticed that the sword she gave him as a birthday present fit him perfectly, a 3 ft double edged sword that was shaped like a leaf (Achilles Sword), as he preferred slashing with quick strikes. His reflexes also threw her off guard as if he was born into the role. However while talented, Percy still had a lot to learn, a tip she kept repeating to him in order to improve himself.

"Well I have to go now there is a large monster roaming the countryside that has to be dealt with. Focus on your jabs and footwork until I come back" she instructs him "Yes Sensei Erza" Percy replies bowing to her before running back to the guild to spend time with his sister and brother.

Outside Fairy Tail Guild

"Are you sure they're going to like me Natsu?" A blonde teenage girl walks cautiously to behind the dragon slayer still in awe of what she saw in Hargeon.

"Don't worry Lucy, Fairy Tail is a guild for all mages." Natsu replies before stopping to sniff the air and smiles. "And speaking of mages, Percy come out here." Percy hidden within the bushes jumps on top of Natsu's shoulders "Natsu, Happy, you're back. Hello there what is your name pretty lady?" Percy asks with a wink, something Cana had suggested to do when he met a female outside of Fairy Tail. The lady looks at the new arrival and inwardly holds herself from screaming "SO CUUUUUTE!" before steeling herself "My name is Lucy and I wish to join the guild." "Well Lucy my name is Percy and this is my horse Natsu. Will you join us in opening the door to the star of a new adventure?"

"HEY IM NOT A" "Quiet horses don't talk back right Happy?" Percy smacks Natsu's head as he complains. "Aye sir" the cat replies getting a look of betrayal from Natsu as he grumbles to himself as he opens the door. Lucy couldn't believe that a kid just insulted Natsu and rather than be offended by it he just went along with it. The four of them enter with Natsu dropping off Percy at the bar before walking away to find the idiot that gave him false information.

"Hey Big Sis Mira we have a new member to the guild" Percy yells before grabbing a fishing rod as Natsu kicks the unfortunate member "THAT'S FOR GIVING ME FALSE INFORMATION!" and starts a brawl. Mira leaves the bar and looks over Lucy who's start struck. "Welcome to Fairy Tail my name is" "Mirajane Strauss Im a huge fan of yours, I followed every single one of your photoshoots" Mira is delighted to meet a fan and one who wishes to join.

"Oi Natsu's back" Gray marches towards Natsu in just his boxers as usual. He's been trying to get back at the damn flame breath ever since he put fire ants in his boxers. Of course he didn't know that Percy was the one who pranked him. Cana puts her drink down "Gray your clothes" "NOT NOW CANA" Elfman tries to get involved like a real man should before getting knocked out. "Ugh this is why I don't date any of you guys none of you have any class" Cana states as she lifts a keg of rum and proceeds to drink it. Lucy is absolutely stunned as if the entire guild except Mira is completely insane. She turns to Mirajane in hopes of explaining "Its too much of a hassle to break it up. Besides its kinda fun isn't that right Percy." "Mira, Im trying to concentrate." Percy is sitting cross-legged on the bar table with his fishing rod completely focused. Lucy is trying to figure out, a. What kind of relationship do those two have, and b. Why on earth is he using a fishing rod in the guild? Percy feels a tug and begins pulling back on the rod while reeling his catch in. During the brawl Gray keeps feeling a tug on his boxers but rather than checks whats wrong he unintentionally removes his boxers leaving it free to Percy to catch. Percy is proud of his catch and now that he got his fair share of fun he breathes in deep before bellowing out "OOOOHH MAAASTEEEEERRRRRR" freezing everyone in their place as they look up the stairs to see absolutely no one. Percy smiles mischievously as everyone turns to him trying to scold him yet when they see Gray's boxers they can't stop laughing. Gray looks down and sees his tool is out and looks around for spares while trying to run after Percy whose laughing while running off upstairs with his prize. Lucy couldn't believe they all fell for that and yet it's still too funny to see everyone frees for no reason.

Mira spots the master carrying Percy as the guild begins brawling again "Master you know Percy loves to have fun and last time I checked you were completely fine with that." The brawl continues as they believe Mira is helping out her brother. That all changes when they feel themselves under a giant shadow and look up terrified before running away with Natsu standing. "HA I WIN YOU GUYS ARE ALL AFRAID OF" Natsu is cut off by a giant's foot stomping on him as Percy slides his way down. "Thanks Gramps oh we have a new member here her name is Luffy." "ITS LUCY" Lucy couldn't stop herself fast enough as the giant turns in her direction. As he walks towards her Lucy is shivering with fear but stops as she sees the giant figure shrinking into a midget. Percy sees her confusion and warns "Don't let his midget size fool you, Grampa Makarov is a Wizard Saint and master of Fairy Tail for a reason." "And what have I told you about calling me a midget?" "Same thing over and over don't do it or you don't get to prank the guild however you forgot that you owe me for a certain incident Master" Percy says cockily as Makarov remembers a certain time Percy caught him

He then looks at the female mage in front of him and notices the keys around her waist. He also notices that she bears a remarkable resemblance to the late Layla Heartfillia, though she's been avoiding using her last name. Seeing that he smiles and says "Mira get the stamp while I talk with the guild" He says before jumping up to the top of the second floor with Percy next to him.

Lucy watches as Makarov berates each member for causing their own brand of chaos, Gray for public indecency, Elfman for punching a guy who suggested education was worth more than fighting, Cana for charging the council for her drinks (Percy particularly enjoyed that and gave her a thumbs up which she replied with a wink and a blown kiss making him blush), Natsu for blowing up Hargeon's port, and somehow Percy got his own brand of trouble for PRANKING THE WHOLE COUNCIL by showering them all with glitter during a meeting. Though it was never confirmed EVERYONE in Magnolia knew the Master of Pranks was the young swordsman/water mage.

Makarov makes a big deal about the council before crumbling their complaints and burning the paper away, giving Natsu a free meal. "Now any power that surpasses reasons still comes from reason. Magic isn't some kind of miraculous power, it is a talent that only works when the flow of energy inside us and the flow of energy in the natural world is in perfect synchronization. To perform magic one must have a strong mind with the ability to focus. It should take over your being and come pouring out of you soul! If all we worry about is following rules then our magic will never progress. Don't let those blowhards on the council scare you follow the path you believe in." Makarov then looks at Percy who smiles before closing his eyes and holding his hand out. Suddenly to Lucy's shock water comes from each barrel into a large ball in front of Percy. The ball is then transformed until it turns into the symbol of Fairy Tail with a banner underneath saying "THAT'S WHAT MAKES THE FAIRY TAIL GUILD NUMBER ONE!" Percy smiles as he keeps the hand on his creation while with his free hand he points upwards with his index finger and thumb as do everyone in the guild as they cheer.

Lucy stares astonished and amazed, so amazed in fact she doesn't realize one of her keys was glowing. Once Mira returns with the stamp Lucy is so proud of the guild she chooses her wrist as the place she wants her guild mark. When asked about the color, she looks at Natsu whos laughing with Percy and blushes when she says pink. Mira stops for a moments before smiling and stamping her wrist with the pink guild mark. As she goes to show Natsu, Percy notices Romeo running into the guild absolutely horrified. Percy and Romeo have been good friends and there was a time when Percy came to his aid when there were some kids picking on him and made sure they turned away. He didn't know that Macao had taken a job but considering that Percy hasn't seen him in a week it was concerning. Romeo demands that Makarov send someone out to the Mt Hakabe which isn't too far from here. Percy knows that Makarov is being harsh because he's worried so he asks to talk with Romeo in private.

Percy leads Romeo to the area outside the guild and lets him talk "Romeo whats wrong? You sound more than just concerned. You sound guilty." Romeo looks at Percy and starts crying "Its all my fault, I just couldn't stand what those kids were saying about Fairy Tail and told my dad that he had to prove those kids wrong" Percy hugs Romeo and rubs his hair. "I promise your dad will be alright" As he says that he sees Natsu walking out of the guild and towards the mountain with Happy fast on his tail. Later he sees Lucy running out after Natsu. He smiles as he now can deliver some good news and can tease his big brother.

Sunset.

Percy waits with Romeo outside the guild as he sees Lucy and Natsu supporting Macao with Happy announcing "Romeo your dad is alright". Percy lets Romeo go as he runs towards his father and apologizes profusely to him while Macao returns the apology and boasts that he took down 19 beasts in a row.

Lucy, Natsu, Happy, and Percy enjoy the father and son connection yet Percy still feels envious of Romeo. The guild was his family but he still didn't know who his father was. Lucy notices one of her keys is glowing, and not just any key, and pales. One of her spirits wants to speak with her urgently. She apologizes and walks away to the guild. Percy and Natsu shrug as they head home.

With Lucy.

Lucy rushes to a woman's bathroom in the guild before going into a bath and tunring it on. Once filled with water, she summons her first celestial spirit Aquarius whose less irritable and deep in thought. "Im so sorry Aquarius I didn't mean to ignore you I swear." "Aquarius doesn't react still deep in thought. "Is something wrong Aquarius?" The mermaid looks up. "That boy isn't just some mage." Lucy is a bit confused the only person she might be talking about is Percy yet nothing felt off about him "What do you mean Aquarius?" The spirit shakes her head "You remember that story about the Titans and Gods?" Lucy nods as that was her favorite bedtime story ever since she lost her mother. "Well they actually did happen. And the boy you met has traits similar to that of the water god Poseidon the ruler of the seas."

Wow that was exciting. Now Percy and Lucy are getting along just fine. Also NaLu will happen. Also the time warp on Tenrou will be in effect on Tenrou.

Next Time: After several quests it is time for Percy to explore and what better way than to have Erza on his side as they head to the cursed island
