Chapter 6: Galuna Island.

"Percy this isn't just another job request, this is an S-Class mission" Erza tries to convince the young boy not to join her. She can't believe that the master agreed to this.

"Erza you've been teaching me so much but all the training we did would mean nothing without real-life experiences. Don't worry you know I can take care of myself." Percy smiles knowing Erza was going to be the real obstacle for him to join. He can't explain it but there is something on the island that's been calling out to him ever since he saw the job request.

Erza sighs and nods her head "Very well then, but you are to watch my back at all times and you must never rush in all on your own understand." In all seriousness Percy nods, now was not the time for jokes anymore. "Yes Ma'am understood." Erza smiles and rubs his long messy hair before they walk to the port.

"Erza how are we going to get to the island? No one seems to be willing to help." Erza smiles as she sees a pirate ship she had dealt with before. "You let me handle that" she says as she makes her way to the ship. After a few minutes of negotiating, ie Erza twisting the captain's arm almost out of its socket, Erza and Percy board the ship on their way to Galuna.

Now at sea, Percy takes a deep breath feeling the wind in the currents as they sailed before walking around the ship. Erza watches over him as he questions each crew member who take him in as one of their own. The captain walks by and comments "The boy is one with the seas." Erza looks at him questioningly prompting him to explain, "The way he's been walking around the ship checking on the ships mast its sails and checking the wind. He feels at home with the seas. Not even the most gifted of sailors pick up these traits on his first voyage" Erza nods, getting one step closer into finding out Percy's lineage. Ever since Percy appeared, the guild have been trying to clue in on Percy's father. Seeing how well he can manipulate water as a child had given them reasonable suspicion that the man was quite adept with water magic. This was a completely different clue however.

Percy walks over to the helmsman and wonders if he could try it out. The helmsman looks at him and asks "What be on yer mind son?" Percy, startled, tries to apologize but the helmsman laughs it off "I see ye been wonderin if ye could steer the ship." Percy rubs the back of his head and nods "Well no harm in tryin" He lets one hand off the wheel allowing Percy to grab it and explains to him how to pay attention to how the wind shifts and teaches him to steer the ship with the wind behind them. Once Percy learns everything the helmsman lets him take the wheel and, surprisingly, Percy doesn't struggle. He keeps the ship steadily in the direction of the island without any problems. At first he's thinking the helmsman is grabbing the wheel just to be sure they stay on course but he sees the helmsman talking to the captain and Erza. He smiles, yet another thing he's talented in.

Erza couldn't believe the helmsman just up and left his post letting a young boy at the wheel. She's about to scold him when she hears Percy call, "We're approaching the Island men drop the anchor." As he says that Percy is keeping the ship firm as they drop the anchor while the ship is close to the beach. Erza then looks at the captain who looks at her with an iconic "I told you so" look. Erza gives him one her patented glares before grabbing Percy and jumps off at the beach. "Looks like you learned something new." Erza comments while Percy sighs "Yeah I guess I did. Not sure Natsu or Laxus would like it though. Erza laughs at the hidden joke as the walk towards the island to hunt down the four idiots.

Village.

Percy was sent by Erza to the village to check on Gray's injuries. According to Lucy and Happy, he had lost a battle with his former friend Lyon whose on the island along with the the large rat and doll mage as well as two other mages that Natsu had dealt with as they were trying to revive a demon that haunted Gray for his whole life. Once he reaches the tent where Gray is, he immediately checks on his condition. The woman treating him covered his wounds well so now it was time for Percy to do what he could. He asked the woman for a bowl of water and when she gave it to him he lifted the water out of the bowl and ran it across Gray's bandaged areas. Erza walks in with Lucy and Happy tied up. "How is he Percy?" she asks. "Nothing too serious thankfully his wounds aren't too serious. He'll be up in a bit. Any sign of Natsu?" Once she shook her head he immediately wonders where he could have gone to. If he wasn't in the village then that left. "He's at the temple." Percy says. Erza looks at him "Are you sure?" "Positive, Natsu is head strong and he's probably going to let them get away with hurting on his friends. But what could he possibly be planning? That I don't know."

Gray starts to wake up and sees Lucy and Happy tied up with Erza next to them as well as a smiling Percy. "Well you took your time. Welcome to the land of the living Gray, or at least momentarily living." Percy jokes as Erza stands up "I thought you were sent to stop Natsu and Lucy, not join these two fools." Gray looks around "Where is Natsu anyway?" "He's probably at the temple as we speak so we need to look for him so that we can go back" Percy inquires. He's about to leave the tent when "We're not leaving the island just yet. If Lucy filled you in then you know exactly what these villagers are going through".

Percy looks back and forth between Erza and Gray who are both arguing. When Gray calls her heartless that's when he can't take it anymore "STOP THIS BOTH OF YOU!" Erza and Gray, stunned, look at Percy whos already near tears. "Forget the villagers, forget the mission, and forget the rules of the guild. There is a madman whos trying to revive a demon and Natsu is probably there right now without any backup. We can't be arguing right now we have to find Natsu. Erza youre right this was an S-Class mission, but we're already in it as we are and since youre an S-Class there should be no problem in finishing the mission. Gray how could you call her heartless? She's doing this because she felt that three of her family members have gone on a dangerous mission where you could've been seriously injured. And you were!" Percy turns around and heads outside. "Im going to look for Natsu, He's out there somewhere and Im not going to let him get hurt." Percy starts running in the direction of the temple.

Erza, Gray, Lucy, and Happy look at each other stunned, before Erza sighs and cuts Lucy and Happy loose. "Well we can't stay here any longer. Let's go" she commands before the four start running in order to catch up with Percy.

Outside Temple

Percy made his way to the temple while still angry over the two friends arguing with each other. He knows he shouldn't have but it was too much for Percy. Percy then tries to track Natsu's movements as he knows that in order to free Deliora the moon has to hit the Iced Shell allowing the dispel magic to melt the Ice Percy decides to head to the area where the demon was frozen as he wishes to know more about the Iced Shell.

Lucy, Erza, and Gray were still a bit far off his position. "You know for a little guy he sure can run fast" Gray observes. "Try sparring with him, I can barely see his feet when we spar. The only one who could beat him in speed is Laxus but even still that's due to his abilities." Erza responds. Lucy is in deep thought "Wait how did Deliora end up encased in that ice?" she asks. Gray stops and reflects back on his youth. "It was my teacher Ur" Erza and Lucy in shock look at him. Gray explains how he foolishly went after Deliora as a child against Ur's wishes and how she ended up saving him by casting the Iced Shell. "But the thing is Iced Shell uses the castor's own life force to seal the being within meaning"

Deliora's cage

"Whoever cast this is still alive" Percy can sense the heartbeat within the shell and the life force within the water. Quickly he focuses on the water containing the life force of the castor and pushes his hands out bringing the essence closer to the ice as he feels the temple shift. "Huh Natsu is he trying to tilt the temple?"

Temple support beams.

"There now Moon Drip won't be directly on Deliora now to deal with Lyon.

Temple

"What was that shift? Is someone trying to destroy the temple" A white haired wizard wearing a blue coat comments. A cat-human hybrid is looking confused while struggling not to rub his claws into his forehead while a cloaked wizard wearing a mask laughs as he knows whats wrong. "No not destroy, tilt it so that the light from the moon doesn't hit Deliora. Emperor Lyon it seems that sparing the wizard's life didn't help" "Be quiet Zalty." Lyon barks as Natsu breaks the floor in landing in front of them.

"Now that the temple is not upright Deliora will not be revived. Now lets finish this"

Outside the temple.

"AAHHHH! THE TEMPLE IS TILTED" Lucy screams while Happy tilts his head trying to look at it straight. Gray isn't shocked but is impressed "Well if he intended it then great move Deliora wouldn't be revived." Erza looks at the temple but then senses something in the shadows. She pushes Lucy and Happy away while she and Gray dodge oncoming projectiles. As the look up they see minions dressed in purple cloaks with their weapons drawn. Erza reequips her sword as she says "Gray go you need to deal with Lyon. I'll handle these guys." Gray starts to object but Erza reminds him "You need to settle the score with Lyon. Now go." Lucy stands up and draws her keys and whip "I'll help Erza out as well now go ahead." Gray looks at the two standing together and smiles before running off to the temple to deal with Lyon.

Back in the Temple.

Lyon has been fighting Natsu enraged by the dragon slayer's actions and yet no matter what he is getting frustrated with Natsu as is any opponent who has faced the dragon slayer. With every attack he delivers Natsu answers back with a strike with the same amount of intensity. Not even changing the whole terrain to ice has worked. They both stop for a moment to collect their breath. Natsu begins by saying "This could go on forever so do yourself a favor and give up." Lyon, outraged at the audacity, responds "I would never give you the satisfaction" Natsu smiles as he ignites his fist "Then you're asking for it". As Lyon and Natsu charge up, Gray pushes through the icy battlefield.

"Natsu its time I finished this fight. After all this is between me and him" Gray says as he stands in front of his old friend. "No way, you already lost to once already" Natsu rebukes, only for Gray to say "That's precisely why I want to fight him again. And this time, he won't win." Gray widens his stance and crosses his arms as he begins to charge up the forbidden spell. Lyon, stunned, believes Gray doesn't have what it takes and taunts him "You're bluffing Gray you're not planning on using it" Gray just keeps powering up to the dismay of Lyon and Natsu. "Its in your hands now Lyon, leave the villagers and get off this island or stay and be encased in ice which will it " "SHUT UP!" Natsu strikes at Gray stopping the spell.

Gray, shocked, demands "I thought I said this was my fight why did you stop me?" "Because you're not fighting him, you're throwing your whole life away and I won't let that happen. Besides we have someone to live for don't we?" Gray stops and thinks. This whole mission has been screwing with his emotions ever since he saw Deliora and Lyon trying to revive the monster just angered him. So blinded in anger that he forgot about the one person that no one has seen yet. "Natsu please tell me Percy found you." Natsu horrified at the thought, at Percy being in danger, takes a sniff and yells "WHY IS PERCY WITH DELIORA?" As he runs down to get his little brother, the temple shifts back to its original state. Zalty shows up and laughs at whole thing.

"So sorry for that Lyon, I just wished to let you know that the temple is back to normal" he says as he looks at Natsu. "What I spent a whole night planning that you jerk." Natsu yells as he charges at Zalty when all of a sudden a hole in the ground opens up from underneath him sending him down to the room Deliora is in as well as Percy who's still focused on reviving the spell castor. "Hey there Natsu hows it going? Erza and I showed up to pick you guys up. I convinced Erza to at least finish the mission before we head back" Percy says while still staring at Deliora. Natsu tries to stop him "Percy you have to leave the temple is back" "Good that means the Moon Drip is going to hit Deliora, which means will allow me to revive the spell castor." Natsu stunned at the revelation asks "what do you mean?" Percy looks at him and says

"Deliora died the moment he was encased. But the person who trapped him is still very much alive. And the only way I can save her is if the spell is lifted. So please Natsu, let me save her"

There you have it folks. Percy on his first quest learned some neat tricks with steering the ship. The whole getting angry at Erza and Gray is part of him hating to see two of his family members starting a fight that could hurt them. And now he's using the Moon Drip in order to save Ur. Now some of you may not like this but I would rather have Ur alive as she sees her two "sons" grow to be strong mages.

Next time: Percy attempts to revive Ur while all hell breaks around him. Will he succeed?
