Hello!
First of all, in case any of you were curious, I am not dead lol. I know it's been months since I've updated this or my other story, but I will explain everything at the end of the chapter. Since I'm certain you came to read this new chapter instead of my excuse. So without further ado, Enjoy!
As a reminder, I DO NOT OWN Jujutsu Kaisen OR The Owl House. Those glories belong to their creators Gege Akutami & Dana Terrace
Chapter 3: Jujutsu High
Just walking outside of the city of Bonesborough, the group of four jujutsu sorcerers, one teacher and three students, were continuing their trek to Jujutsu Tech. As they were, the newest recruit to the art of exorcising curses was still thinking about the people he recently encountered: the human girl, the "King of Demons" and "The Owl Lady".
Itadori: Those people seemed nice.
Fushiguro: Don't get attached to them. Especially to that Owl Lady witch.
Itadori: Why not? She seemed okay, despite the shady looking business she has.
Kugisaki: She seemed "shady" and yet he still thinks she's okay?
Fushiguro: You saw the wanted posters all over town didn't you? She's got the highest bounty in the Isles. If you interact with her anymore, you'll be targeted by association. Plus, if the authorities catch you and find out your Sukuna's vessel, then we're all in trouble.
Although Yuji understood where Fushiguro was coming from, he still didn't think the witch was deserving to be called a criminal if all she was doing was selling junk. Besides, she couldn't be so bad if that Luz girl willingly chose to stick with Eda. There must have been some good qualities in that mischievous old witch.
Kugisaki: I could care less if we see her again or not. That old crow called me a hot head. Can you believe that?
Although Fushiguro and Gojo decided to ignore her question, Yuji nodded in agreement, even though he thought the opposite.
Itadori: Hard to imagine.
As they walked up some stone steps, Gojo couldn't help but think about the latest interaction with the Owl Lady. More specifically, the human girl that was with her.
Gojo: It's rare for Eda to actually take in an apprentice. Especially a human one. Maybe she took a liking to the kid. Still though, if Eda loses control and that human is in trouble, I'll have to step in.
After climbing the final steps, Yuji was amazed at seeing the top. Kugisaki & Fushiguro didn't seem to care as much and Gojo just smiled.
Gojo: I know the walk took longer than planned, but hey, Welcome!
The campus of Jujutsu High looked just like the "campus" at the human world. The only difference was instead of birds flying around, it was other flying creatures.
Gojo: Ok, Yuji, you come with me and we'll go see the principal. Megumi, why don't you show Kugisaki to the dorms and I'll meet you both later.
Fushiguro nodded his head while Kugisaki just went along with it, glad that their trek was done.
Kugisaki: About time.
Gojo was leading Yuji to the principal's building, but he couldn't help but wonder if Yuji was worried or ready.
Gojo: You ready?
Itadori: Yeah! As ready as I'll ever be.
Gojo: Good, because don't forget if you're denied admittance, you're execution could come sooner rather than later.
Itadori quickly changed from ready to nervous.
Itadori: What the hell kind of pep talk is that?
As they made their way into temple, Yuji quickly noticed that the only things keeping this building being pitch black dark were a bunch of lit candles.
?: You're late Satoru. 8 Minutes late
Yuji stopped and saw that the door he and Gojo entered through had shut itself closed. He looked in the direction of the male voice and noticed who it belonged to. A man with short black hair with shaved sides, a mustache goatee combination and was wearing dark clothes, along with dark sunglasses.
But although the man looked and sounded intimidating, what he was doing while he waited for Gojo, was the opposite.
The man was sitting and sewing together what looked like dolls and plushies.
?: As usual, not quite enough to chastise you for. I told you to fix that habit.
Itadori: That old dude is making cute things?
Gojo: If it's not enough to chastise me for then don't chastise. Besides, you're just sitting around making dolls anyway. So what's 8 minutes? (Turns to Yuji) Principal Masamichi Yaga.
Yaga: This the boy?
(Yuji bows)
Itadori: Yuji Itadori! I'm into girls like Jennifer Lawrence! This is an honor!
Yaga: What are you here for?
As Itadori was surprised by the question the principal just asked, Yuji responded.
Itadori: An interview?
Yaga: But why Jujutsu High? In the Demon Realm?
Itadori: Uh, to learn Jujutsu?
Yaga: I mean beyond that. What do you hope to find once you study curses? And learn the art of exorcising them? Why did you decide to come to an entirely new world in order to do so?
Itadori: Well, I suppose… I'm going to collect all the fingers of Sukuna. Can't just leave them all out there.
Yaga: Why not?
Itadori: Hm?
Yaga: People you never know die every day due to crime, accidents and diseases. It's just the natural course of life. It happens here on the isles as it does on Earth.
Gojo: Here he goes again.
Yaga: But you're telling me you can't overlook it when that death is caused by a curse? That if a curse makes its way out of the demon realm and causes deaths in the human realm, then you'll really have a problem with that?
Itadori: It was someone's dying request of me and I don't care about the details. I just want to save who I can.
Yaga: Dying wish? (Yaga stands up) You're saying you'll fight curses just because someone else told you to do that? Insufficient!
(Itadori gasps)
(Principal Yaga sticks out his arm and one of his dolls, green with strange hair, stands up on its own)
Itadori: That's not a doll! It's alive!
Yaga: In a way. They're corpses. Dolls that I've infused with my curse.
The doll then leaves the principals side and quickly appears in midair in front of Yuji about to throw a punch at him. The interviewee quickly blocks the punch with his backpack, but it's still strong enough to send him backwards towards a pillar.
Itadori: That's one hell of a doll.
As the doll taunted Itadori in the form of dancing, the principal continued his lecture to the young man.
Yaga: A persons true nature is reveals itself during a crisis. I'll keep attacking you until I get an acceptable answer.
Yuji, beginning to feel frustrated, stood up and was ready to fight back.
Itadori: Look man, it wasn't "someone else". (Yuji runs at the doll) It was my grandfather's dying request!
Itadori successfully landed a punch on the doll, but as he did, the stuffed monster began bouncing all over the room and as a result, all of the candles that kept the room lit blew out. Now, it was dark and the vessel didn't know where the bouncing creature would be.
Itadori: What the?! Where is it?!
The doll then ricocheted off a pillar at incredible speed and once again made contact with Yuji, causing the teenager to roll backwards into another pillar.
Yaga: Family is still "someone else".
The moving toy once again taunted the boy.
Itadori: Oh right, it's a doll. So it doesn't get hurt or scared.
The principal began to light up the candles again.
Yaga: Here in the demon realm, curses don't bother witches and demons as much as they do humans. In a way, witches and demons of this realm see curses as pests and see us sorcerers as exterminators. However, it's a different perspective for the sorcerers themselves. A jujutsu sorcerer constantly faces death and not just their own death when they go against curses. Sometimes you must ignore the victims and rend the flesh from those that the curses murder. It's an unpleasant job. You have to be highly motivated and perhaps a little crazy to handle it. You do this because someone else told you to? Don't make me laugh! It'd be more believable if you said you were doing it to postpone your execution.
That last sentence was enough to upset the teen.
Itadori: Oh screw you! I-
Yaga: Then tell me this! Are you going to blame your poor grandfather when you get killed by a curse too?
That question stopped Yuji from talking back and actually got him to think.
Itadori: Damn old man, you say some pretty harsh things.
Yaga: Teaching is making people realize truths.
Itadori: That's right. I guess.
(The doll uppercuts Yuji)
Yaga: It's not easy to imagine how you'll feel on the verge of death. However, I can say one thing for certain. At the rate you're going, you might end up cursing your beloved grandfather for his dying wish. Jujutsu sorcerers never die without regret. So I'll ask you just once more. Why have you come here? To the Boiling Isles? To Jujutsu High?
Itadori: As a kid, I was always better than most at sports and in fights, but never once did I think, "This is something only I can do." Never.
With the doll about to throw another punch, Itadori not only dodged it, but he hit the dolls stomach with his head and was able to trap the doll in a headlock.
Itadori: Consuming Sukuna IS something only I can do! So even if I could escape my death sentence and run away from this responsibility. Then someday I could be eating food, taking a bath or reading manga. In the moment I'd stop to think, I'd go, " Oh I bet that right now, somewhere out there, someone is dying because of Sukuna. But that doesn't concern me. It's certainly not my fault." You expect me to tell myself that? Well I refuse to do that! I don't know how I'll feel when I'm dying, but, I won't regret the way I lived!
Once Yuji gave his response to the principals question, the old man made his decision.
Yaga: Satoru, show him to his dorm room. Be sure to explain the security arrangements to him as well.
Itadori: Hmm?
(Yaga turns to Itadori)
Yaga: You're admitted. Welcome to Jujutsu High.
Yuji smiled as he finally accomplished getting admitted. However, he should have paid more attention to his grip on the doll as it got out of the headlock and landed another sucker punch on the newly admitted student.
Yaga: Oh, sorry. I forgot to release the curse.
The vessel followed Gojo to his new dorm room and he couldn't be more ready to settle in.
Itadori: Woah, this place is huge!
Gojo: All the 2nd & 3rd years are out at the moment. But you'll meet them all soon enough. There aren't many of them.
Yuji quickly began putting away his stuff and hanging up posters.
Gojo: You know, there's no real reason for you to go out and fight at all. Fushiguro, Kugisaki & I could retrieve Sukuna's fingers while you just stay here and chill out.
Itadori: Yeah, nice try guy. I said I'd do it and I will. Though I gotta say, hanging out until Fushiguro comes back all beat up just to bring me a finger? That'd be funny.
Gojo: Yeah, but you wouldn't have refused to fight. I already knew that.
Itadori was surprised to hear that his new teacher would already know the answer before asking the question.
Itadori: Huh? That was a test?
Gojo walked towards Itadori and waved his finger in front of the student.
Gojo: If the fingers were that easy to find don't you think we would have collected them all already? Like I told you before, Jujutsu Tech possesses six of the fingers. Actually, five now if we subtract the one you ate at the crematorium. But going back on topic, the fingers we have were found in the human realm. From what we understand, there are fingers here in the demon realm too.
Itadori: Really? I thought all of Sukuna's fingers were back in the human realm.
Gojo: Nope. And believe me when I say finding them here will be a lot more difficult than finding the ones back in Japan. Some have a presence that's overwhelming. Some keep very quiet. There's also a chance witches or demons possess a finger in order to protect themselves from curses or have already been absorbed by a curse spirit. These are the challenges we've dealt with when it comes to searching for them. But, at last, we have you. The Sukuna within you will try to regain his power and that will lead us to the fingers. You're both a vessel and locator. Our very own radar. So you see, we won't get very far without you.
Itadori: Are you sure he's going to be cooperative?
Both the teacher and student walked out of the dorm room and into the hallway.
Gojo: Oh, I think we can come to a win-win agreement there.
The next day, flying through the skies, Eda was sitting on the front her staff with King in her hair and Luz sitting behind her.
Luz: Thanks again for doing this Eda.
Eda: Yeah yeah. But still, don't say I didn't warn you. The kids who study here are just as much weirdos as you and I.
Luz: As a weirdo myself, I welcome the opportunity to meet more.
Although Eda scoffed at the idea of Luz getting along with the students of Jujutsu Tech, she couldn't help but smile at her apprentices enthusiasm towards checking the place out.
Soon enough, the three saw that they were approaching a certain area covered in what Luz recognized as Japanese temples and architecture.
Luz: Is this it?
Eda decided to answer the question with very little excitement.
Eda: Yep. Welcome to the school of curses, Jujutsu High.
Eda then descended Owlbert down to the middle of the campus. When they reach low enough, both Eda and Luz hop off the staff while Eda hangs on to it. Luz begins to walk around and before Eda could lead the way, King hopped himself out of Eda's hair and took a look around the school grounds.
King: Wow! I've never been here before!
(King looks around)
King: Well, I'm already bored. When are we going to see a curse? I'm sure one would be a fine minion for my –
(King can feel Eda glaring at him)
Eda: A what for your what?
King: Uh…. Did I say "minion"? I meant to say….. Mini Friend! A mini friend for myself!
Eda: Alright. I know that's a total lie, but I'll let it slide. But seriously, don't get any ideas about bringing a curse back home. Those things are nothing but trouble.
The demon couldn't help but wonder about Eda's disdain towards curses. He remembered the previous day, back when Luz showed interest about Jujutsu High and Curses, Eda shut her down completely. And now she won't tolerate curses at her home.
King: Hey Eda, why do you hate curses?
Eda paused with her back towards King. All she said was four words.
Eda: I have my reasons.
Eda then began to follow Luz. King was confused about her answer, but before he thought about it, he realized Eda & Luz were getting farther away.
King: Weh!
(King quickly runs towards Luz & Eda)
Luz: Wow! It's like I'm in Japan! If it looks this cool in the demon realm, I can't wait to see how it looks in the human rea-
?: Hey!
The human, witch & demon turned around at the sound of the intimidating female voice and noticed two people. Both of them are human. One of them, was a teenage girl, looking older than Luz, had dark green hair tied into a ponytail, golden eyes and wearing a pair of glasses. She was also wearing black leggings with black shoes. Luz noticed her uniform was the same one as Nobara was wearing yesterday, meaning that this girl was a student too.
The other person with the girl was a boy and appeared to be slim with purple eyes, mid-length platinum blonde hair. However, unlike the other students, Luz noticed that the collar on his uniform was high enough to cover his mouth.
Girl: Who do you think you are trespassing here- Wait a minute. You're the Owl Lady. And that little demon that's always with her. Why are you here?
King: I'm not little! At least, not that little.
Eda: (Sarcastic) Thanks for the warm welcome. Don't worry, I won't be here long. I'm just showing the kid here around and-
Girl: I don't care who you're showing this to. This is a private school, not a public park.
Eda: Geez, still "fun" as always eh Maki?
The spectacled girl couldn't help but be irritated at the Owl Lady's mockery. Before she could comment back at the witch, Luz was curious.
Luz: Eda, do you know them?
Eda: These two are second-year students here. The girl is Maki and skinny over there (Points to the boy) is Toge Inumaki.
Interested in the new human faces, Luz walks over to them to introduce herself.
Luz: Hey there! I'm Luz Noceda, it's nice to meet you (Extends her hand to Inumaki to handshake)
Inumaki: (Bows) Kelp.
Luz: Uh…. thanks?
Eda: Oh yeah, he can only talk in ingredients for some food.
Inumaki: (Nods) Salmon
Maki: Let's get back on topic here. Why are you here?
Eda: Relax will ya. I'm just showing my apprentice here (gestures to Luz) this place. We're not staying.
After the Owl Lady introduced her apprentice to the two students, Maki noticed something about the Latina girl that was with this witch, she's human.
Maki: (Looks at Eda) You have a human apprentice? What's the point in that?
Luz: Well, the point is so I can learn to be a witch.
Luz's answer confused the two older teens.
Inumaki: Bonito Flakes?
Maki: Uh, you know humans can't use magic right?
Luz: Well, sure that's what everybody says, but, I'll just be the first one to do it.
The two curse students had their doubts, but even though they didn't show it, they liked the determination the girl showed.
Maki: Do whatever you want then. Just don't expect it to be easy. And do know what you're getting into.
Luz wondered what the older girl meant by that, but soon enough, Eda was quick to change the topic.
Eda: By the way, where's the other two?
As soon as the witch said that, she, King & Luz noticed a big silhouette approaching from behind Maki & Inumaki. Once light came through, Eda recognized the figure, King was amazed at its size and Luz was amazed at what it was.
A Panda bear.
Luz: (Gasps) Dios... Mio! Is that… is that a…. Panda! (Luz runs towards the bear in excitement).
Panda: Yes I am. Who are you?
Luz stopped in her tracks as soon as she heard words come out of the bears mouth.
Luz: It talks?!
Eda: Yep. Kid, say hello to Panda. Another second-year here.
Panda: That's me. It's nice to meet you.
Luz: A panda named Panda? Oh, uh, it's nice to meet you too.
(Panda warmly hugs Luz) (Everyone in the area is surprised that he hugged her)
Panda: Sorry. But I could tell that before you learned I could talk that you wanted to hug or at the very least pet me. I figured you didn't ask just to be polite. So I hope that you don't mind that I saved you the trouble.
(Luz smiles)
Luz: Of course I don't mind. Yes! I can scratch "petting a Panda" off my bucket list!
Panda: Glad I could be of help.
Eda & Maki: He's just enjoying the attention.
Inumaki: Mustard leaf.
King: (Looks at Panda) Hey Buddy! Back off from Luz. I'm the only one she can hug! I mean, Luz is the only one that can bask in my greatness!
Panda: (Pats King on the head) Sure thing.
(King slaps away Panda's pat)
Eda: You guys are still one short. Where's that gloomy kid? Is he sleeping or something?
Panda: If you're talking about Okkotsu, he's back in the human realm studying abroad.
Eda: Really? Well that sucks.
Luz: Why? Did you get along with him Eda?
Eda: In a way.
Luz, King & the second years were confused as to what Eda meant by that.
Eda: I was hoping that if Luz & Eda saw how tired and miserable that kid was because of that curse he had, they'd want to stay away from them for good.
After Eda thought to herself, everyone heard a familiar voice approaching them.
Itadori: Hey! Luz, Eda, King!
The owl house residents turned around to see Yuji, now wearing his new school uniform, with Fushiguro and Gojo walking behind him.
Luz: Yuji! Hey! Did your interview go well?
Itadori: Yep. I mean, it was rough with all the punches, but nonetheless, I got in (Gives thumbs up).
Luz: Congrats! Wait, punches?
After getting a closer look at her new friend's uniform, she noticed the red hood it had, which set it apart from what the other students were wearing. Minus Panda since all he was wearing was an arm band.
Luz: Wait, why is yours different from the others?
Itadori: (Yuji looks over at the hood at the back of his uniform) I don't know really know. Mine just came with the hood when I got it.
Gojo: Oh yeah, school uniforms can be customized on request.
Itadori: For real? But I didn't put in a request.
Gojo: I know. I did.
Itadori: Really? Oh well, it fits well and I like it anyway.
It was only Luz's second time seeing the blindfolded teacher, and she could conclude what she already assumed when she first met him at Eda's stand.
Luz: That guy's quite the character huh?
Fushiguro: He's just quirky like that.
Luz: Hey, where's that girl that was with you guys?
Fushiguro: Kugisaki is still unpacking her stuff and setting up her dorm.
Luz: Ah, settling in. I know that feeling.
Gojo: So Eda, you decided to show your kid and pet around here?
King: (Looks at Luz) Haha, he called you Eda's pet. Wait….
Eda: I'm only showing them around because the kid was curious.
Luz: Actually, (Looks at Gojo) do you think you can tell me more about curses?
Eda: Luz! That wasn't part of the deal.
Luz: I know, but I figured that if curses are as dangerous as you say they are, I should know more about them so that I know what do if I ever see one.
Gojo: Well hasn't Eda told you about-
(Gojo looks at Eda to see her glaring at him)
Luz: About what?
Gojo: (Sighs then smiles) Never mind. (Rubs the back of his head) Forgot what I was going to say.
Fushiguro, Panda & Maki: Such a bad liar
Although Luz, King & Yuji were confused by Gojo's sudden mind slip, Fushiguro & the second-years looked down and away from the gaze of the Owl Lady. As if they knew why she didn't want the blindfolded teacher to say anything.
Gojo: But hey, Luz right?
Luz: Yeah?
Gojo: If you're that curious about curses, I can teach you some basics when I have some free time. Or if not me, I'm sure the students here can.
Luz: (Smiles) Really?
Panda: What?
Maki: Huh? Leave us out of this! Besides, there's no point in teaching someone who can't use Jujutsu.
Inumaki: Bonito Flakes.
Gojo: Oh come on, don't be like that. Besides, (Points to Itadori) you know Itadori is-
Fushiguro: Hey!
Although Gojo wanted to complain at Fushiguro's interruption, he quickly realized why the student did as he remembered that The Owl Lady and her group were here. They didn't need to know about Yuji Itadori's "circumstances" about getting into Jujutsu High.
Luckily, the pink-haired first-year knew how to improvise.
Itadori: I don't have as much experience, but i'm still looking forward to dealing with curses.
Although Luz and King believed it, everyone else in the area sweat dropped at Itadori's line, especially the Owl Lady. Clearly she wasn't buying it and Fushiguro saw it as clear as day.
Fushiguro: Gojo keeps telling us to keep secrets, yet he's the one that almost let it slip twice
Eda: Yuji, I don't know what made you want to enroll in Jujutsu High, but believe me when I say curses are nothing to look forward to.
Yuji noticed how serious the witch said that last part.
Itadori: Does she really know how dangerous curses are? But, I thought curses don't bother witches as much.
Eda: Luz, King, wrap up this little tour soon. If ya need me, I'll be outside the campus.
Eda then walks off from the Jujutsu students and left Luz and King with them. She figured that it would be better if those two were with people who are experienced with curses than with herself, especially with the attitude she's showing.
Even though the Owl Lady told King she had her reasons for hating curses, he still showed concern for her. Luz knew Eda didn't like to talk about curses, but she too was worried for her teacher.
Gojo: She is right you know.
(Luz and King turn to Gojo)
Gojo: Curses are dangerous. Especially to humans.
Luz couldn't help but gulp at the latter sentence. But that didn't stop her from asking the blindfolded teacher a question.
Luz: What exactly is a curse?
There was a brief silence. Luz was younger than the other students at this school. The second years weren't entirely sure how to break it to her. Although Yuji wanted to explain the curse he went through before he came to the Boiling Isles, he was still new to concept, so he doubted he would explain well.
Gojo looked at Fushiguro and nodded at the student, signaling him to go ahead and explain. Although the serious teen was having his doubts, he stepped forward towards Luz.
Fushiguro: Curses are the results of negative emotions from mankind. Anger, regret, shame, all of those are what manifest monster-like creatures known as curses. Those curses are responsible for numerous missing persons and unexplained deaths back in the human realm.
Fushiguro's explanation made Luz nervous. But, that uneasiness quickly changed to confusion.
Luz: Wait, if curses are that dangerous, why are all of you here in the demon realm instead of dealing with them in the human realm?
Fushiguro: Because even though curses are made out of negative energy from humans, they're born here in the demon realm.
Luz and King were surprised to hear this.
Luz: But then how-
Fushiguro: A weak curse can sneak its way into the human realm. And even if it does get stronger in the human realm, there are Jujutsu Sorcerers there that are strong enough to take care of it. Jujutsu High is where we learn about curses by battling and exorcising them. That's why the school was established here on the isles. To deal with the curses that are manifested here and preventing them from causing harm to the human race.
After that explanation, Luz began to understand how serious curses are. But, just like Yuji, she was curious as to why Eda hated curses so much. If curses are dangerous towards humans, why would it concern her mentor, a witch?
Fushiguro: If you ask me though, its not safe for you be here on the isles.
Luz: Huh?
(Yuji turns to Fushiguro surprised)
Fushiguro: You said earlier you were studying under Eda to be a witch right? (Luz Nods) Well sorry to tell you, but even if you do somehow learn how to wield magic, it won't do any good against a curse if you ever encounter one.
Luz: What do you mean?
Maki: He means that curses can nullify magic.
Panda: We don't know how or why specifically, but the point is, magic and curses don't go together.
Inumaki: (Nods) Mustard Leaf.
King: Wow, you're all really bumming us out here.
Maki: Nobody said the truth would be easy to hear.
Luz: (Smiles nervously) But still, what are the chances I'll run into a curse?
Gojo: More likely than you realize. If you're living with Eda.
Panda: Don't jinx it! I mean, it's more likely you'll come across a weak curse, since those are more often seen here on the isles. But still, don't ever approach one.
Luz: How will I know what one looks like?
Panda: Lets just say if something looks really grotesque AND you get a "bad feeling" from it, it's a curse.
Once the talking bear explained, the Dominican-American girl and little demon were confused.
King: Uh, you know there's a lot of weird looking things around here right? Demons, witches, and other things?
Fushiguro: That's why you also need to take into account any cursed energy the curses give off. Or the "bad feeling" Panda said earlier.
Luz: Okaaaay. And what exactly is cursed energy?
Fushiguro: It's made from negative emotions. It's what curses are made of.
Luz: But still, how will I know what "cursed energy" feels like. Am I supposed to sense it or something.
It was Gojo's turn to speak
Gojo: Exactly. And for you Luz, even if you're not a sorcerer, you should be able to sense cursed energy if you were able to see Megumi's demon dog the other day.
Luz realized what he meant as she remembered the dog that was with Fushiguro, how it sunk into his shadow and how he said it's a curse.
Gojo: Even though you ought to keep your distance from a curse, the more you encounter should give you a better idea at recognizing one.
The jujutsu students, minus Itadori, were slightly surprised at their teacher's suggestion.
Fushiguro, Maki & Panda: Is he actually encouraging her to face curses?
Even though she was at away from everyone, Eda heard Gojo's thought and was annoyed.
Gojo: But, if I understand correctly, you didn't come here for a lecture on curses right? You wanted to check out the campus right?
Luz quickly remembered THAT was what she originally came for.
Luz: Oh, right! I completely forgot. (Laughs nervously and rubs her head)
Gojo: Hey Itadori, Fushiguro, why don't you two give her and King there a brief tour.
Itadori: Sure.
Fushiguro: Why do I have to?
(Gojo looks at Fushiguro casually)
Fushiguro: (Sighs in defeat) Fine. (Looks at Luz and King) Follow me and I'll show you where the classrooms are.
Luz: Oh yes! Please do.
Itadori: After that, we can show you two the dorms and common area is cool too.
Fushiguro: Not happening. Dorms are off limits to everyone outside of students and staff.
Itadori, Luz & King: Booo! (All three give a thumbs down in disappointment)
Fushiguro: Shut up.
Once Fushiguro led the vessel, human and demon away from everyone else, the second years approach Gojo.
Maki: You sure showing those two around here is a good idea?
Gojo: I don't see much of a problem with it. Besides, I can tell by looking at them that they have no ill intention.
Although Maki didn't like the idea of showing outsiders around, she didn't complain. Panda just nodded as he seemed to like Luz and King too, despite King's annoyance towards him. And Inumaki simply nodded.
Inumaki: Mayonaise.
The sensei knew that there was someone close by that thought completely differently.
Gojo: Of course, YOU have a problem with it right?
(Sighs) (Eda appears from behind one of the temples)
Eda: Dang right I got a problem with it.
The second years silently agreed to leave and let Gojo and the Owl Lady talk it out.
Eda: Luz doesn't need to spend her time around you guys. She's perfectly fine studying under me.
Gojo: You know that so long as she's human, she'll eventually run into a curse if she stays here on the isles right?
Eda: Please, if all she has to worry about are a Grade 3, 4 or a simple Fly Heads, she's got nothing to worry about.
Gojo: And what about you?
Eda didn't say anything as she thought about what would happen to Luz OR King if they found out about her secret.
Gojo: You're going to have to tell them eventually.
Eda: They don't need to know. I've put up with it for many years and I will for plenty more.
Gojo: You know Eda, the offer still stands.
Eda: Yeah right. I've seen how Jujutsu sorcerers operate. Tell your geezer higher ups , that I'll take my chances.
Gojo didn't say anything as Eda just walked away to the campus entrance. Gojo knows she's stubborn, but he does agree that the way the higher ups run things will take things too far.
Eda: Tell Luz and King that I'm waiting for them and to hurry up.
Gojo: Yeah, no problem.
And scene!
So, you've noticed I haven't written & updated in a while. That's because for the past couple months, I've been working full time at a job that I found rather exhausting. I mean, you'd be tired too if you had a shift that started at 5 IN THE MORNING! I had to wake up at 3:30 AM just to get ready and drive out there. So yeah, it takes a lot out of me.
I'm currently looking for a new job (hopefully one that lets me sleep in and more closeby) but my desire to write hasn't changed. It's just slowed down. Still, "WS&C" isn't going anywhere.
Now onto this chapter.
So yeah, I decided to introduce the Second-years sooner than when they were introduced in the anime/manga.
Also, yes, Gojo, Fushiguro, the students & staff of JJ High, minus Itadori & Kugisaki, know about Eda's problem. Also, since Eda's "problem" affects her magic, I figure curse energy ought to affect any magic as well.
See you all next time!
Next Chapter, Kugisaki & Itadori take on their first mission with a curse. Afterwards though, boiling rain forces them to take refuge at The Owl House. Later though, everyone there realize they're not the only ones there.
