Chapter 12: Abyss Break
Percy's Mindscape
Percy looked in awe at the three massive beasts. On the left was the long red dragon with two mouths he could remember seeing before. On the right was the large yellow birdlike dragon whose light matched that of the sun. And in between was the blue giant with spikes on its shoulders.
Percy found his voice and asked, "Who are you?"
The three beasts look at each other and the room rumbles as the three laugh. Percy tries to stay brave against being he knows could crush him instantly yet holds his silence. Eventually the laughter stops as the dragon leans forward.
Considering that two years have passed since you summoned us, it is understandable that you are confused. I am Osiris, the Sky Dragon, and these are my brothers. The giant is Obelisk The Tormentor. And the sun dragon is called Ra. The dragon introduces itself.
Percy stays still as he digests this information. "Wait Ra? As in the Egyptian Sun God Ra? If that's the case than the three of you are Gods."
Very perceptive, young one. And yes we are Gods. But we are also bound to those who call us. The sun dragon explains.
Percy understandably confused asks, "Why do you bind yourselves? You are Gods, so aren't you free to roam the world as you please?"
The giant kneels as he answers the young boy's question, While other Gods roam the Earth, We are bound as our powers if not held in check could be devastating to your worlds. However not everyone is able to summon us. Only those of a specific bloodline can call on us. And you Perseus are a direct descendant of the one we originally served.
Percy has so much questions but he knows he's on borrowed time. "My friends are in danger, a rival guild is trying to capture one of my guild mates and he plans on destroying my whole guild in order to do so. The family I lived with for two years needs help."
The three look at each other again before Obelisk leans forward, We know of Phantom Lord's actions. We've been watching through you and we have seen what they have done. But we are bound to your soul, if you summon us you will be incapacitated for a few days as your body still needs to develop in order for you to utilize our powers.
Percy takes in the information and asks "What do I need to do?"
Back with Elfman.
Elfman charges as he searches for one of the Elemental Four. He finds himself in a room with a window open and as he takes another step he feels something in the ground. All of a sudden a man wearing a brown suit and a monocle pops up in front of him "Bonjour, allow me to introduce myself, Monsieur Sol of the Elemental Four at your service."
Elfman takes his jacket off "Yeah you were part of the group that kidnapped Lucy. Let me make this clear, you're not taking her. And since you're part of the Elemental Four, beating you will help stop it" he says as he changes his arm into a Black Bull with a Partial Takeover. Sol notices that and mocks "Just a partial takeover? Non! Non! Non! That will not be enough." Elfman charges Sol and slams his arm down but Sol dodges before launching Sable Dance temporarily blinding Elfman with sand.
Sol then dives underground and pops up behind Elfman "Roche Concerto" he casts as rocks attack Elfman from the ground up forcing Elfman to take a few steps back. Sol mocks him before diving underground before wrapping his silky body around Elfman's Black Bull arm. "Unhand me Sol!" Elfman demands prompting a "Monsieur!" out of Sol as her unwraps and kicks Elfman back.
Sol then realizes, "Ah you once had a little sister. I wonder where she is." Elfman stops before shaking his head. "Stop it" he growls. "Ah yes she's buried. The reason you can't do a full Takeover is because the last time you did you killed your sister." "I SAID STOP IT" Elfman yells in rage as he jumps, changing his arm into Iron Bull as he attempts to slam it down on him. Sol maliciously recreates Lisanna from dirt stopping Elfman in his tracks. He still blames himself for Lisanna's death. Using that pause Sol casts Platre Sonata, creating a large fist out of plaster and launches it at Elfman knocking him down.
Elfman skids all the way to the window. As he looks up he sees his sister Mira trapped between the giant's fingers. Rage flows through him and as Sol approaches him he begins a full Takeover. Mira sees this and begs, "Elfman please don't do it." Elfman doesn't stop and he transforms using Beast Soul. All of a sudden a large ogre jumps in front of Sol who is frozen in shock. The ogre pummels him and throws him into the air. Sol tries another Platre Sonata, which is ineffective. The ogre begins to systematically destroy Sol, punching him over and over until the man is unconscious. Suddenly the ogre jumps out of the window to the giant's finger and pries Mirajane loose before hugging her. The ogre transforms back into Elfman showing he has now full control over the Takeover.
Elfman, still crying as he hugs Mirajane, says "I'm sorry Mira, I had no choice." Mira hugs him back "I know. I'm just happy you're safe now. Also you took out a part of the Elemental Four. Only two remain now. Let's hope Erza and Natsu get there."
Top of the Giant.
Gray was having trouble with the water girl. She was precise as well as powerful and the rain was not helping things either. Also his attacks were ineffective as her body kept on turning to water whenever they impacted her. He really wished Percy was with him as he would've been able to stop her in her tracks. She had asked for Lucy to be surrendered peacefully and promised to talk to Jose. While her offer was sincere, Gray couldn't let Jose take Lucy. When Gray said that he would give up his life for Lucy, Juvia was heartbroken and unleashed her wrath on Gray sending boiling water at Gray in such speeds his creation magic couldn't keep up.
Gray resorted to flight to strategize as he used a smoke screen created when his ice shield was being melted by her boiling water. Juvia sensed it and sent a large wave of boiling water into the window flushing him upwards. Juvia then sent another wave into the air targeting Gray. Gray having had enough brought his hands together and froze the water all the way to her casing her in ice.
Juvia was frozen. She couldn't believe her crush had found a way past her boiling water strikes. She also was blushing as Gray's hand was groping one of her breasts. Gray just noticed that and wildly shook his head. "I swear I didn't mean this I'm sorry" he said as he let go, ultimately releasing her from the icy prison. Juvia was still blushing madly as she pondered why he let him go.
"Let's start over again shall we?" Gray asks hoping to avoid the incident. Juvia shakes her head, "I cannot. I cannot bring myself to harm you again" she says. Gray, understandably confused, looks on. "Juvia is stronger than Lucy, Juvia can protect you" she states still blushing as she attempts to convey her affection for him. The rain pours down harder than before causing Gray to ponder "Oi this rain is getting heavier. This rain is so gloomy." Juvia freezes at the word Gloomy, having heard the same phrase over and over again in her youth. She screams as she launches a wave of water much hotter than before. Gray attempts to freeze it but it doesn't work, resulting in him being blown back.
"Juvia has no need for love. Juvia the gloomy rain woman has no need for love. Phantom lord accepted Juvia as one of their own. Juvia is a member of the Elemental Four. A Phantom Wizard!" Juvia rants as she merges with the water. Gray gets back up and blocks the water with an ice shield "I will not lose to Phantom!" he yells as he brings another hand into the water and freezes it forcing Juvia to dodge it. She notices that his attack somehow froze the rain. Bringing both hands to the ground, Gray chants "ICE GEYSER!" as ice shoots from the ground upwards to Juvia freezing her then sending her flying.
As she falls, Gray slides down in an attempt to catch her. Just as Juvia thinks she's gone, she feels Gray grabbing her and pulling her up. He sets her on the ground laying her on her back as the rain stops and the clouds begin to part. "Huh the rain has stopped" he said before looking back at her smiling, "care for another round?" he asks. Juvia melts at the implications and passes out with a large smile on her face, prompting Gray to try to wake her.
Back at Fairy Tail
Wakaba notices something off. "Oi a lot of time has passed. Why has nothing happened?" he asks. A purple short haired wood mage named Laki shouts "Is anyone noticing the circle turtlish?" Macoa and Wakaba look back at her confused before Macao says "She means its moving slow. Why can't you be clearer about this?" "I like the way I talk" Laki fires back. Cana makes an assumption, "Well it may be due to most of the Elemental Four being defeated. Which leaves these shades."
Fairy Tail safe-house
Lucy woke up earlier to Reedus looking down on her. Kicking him due to him being too close and assuming she's still in her room, she looks around and asks "Wait. Where are we?" "You're in the safe-house." Lucy turns around to the voice seeing Gray's teacher Ur standing on two feet.
"Why are you here Ur? And how are you walking normally" Lucy asks. Ur smiles as she walks over to the Celestial Mage. "There's a chance Phantom might find this place so Mirajane asked me to stay here. Also Porylisca made me a new prosthetic leg. It's been helpful" Reedus wakes up still dazed by the kick. Lucy attempts to apologize, but Reedus shoots it down "It's understandable I made you uncomfortable." The three stop as they hear the door getting pushed. Ur and Reedus stand in front of Lucy, Ur's hands already in position.
Phantom Lord Hallway.
Erza and Natsu have been searching for the bastard who hurt their master. Warren had already let them know that Aria is the only one left. Erza steels herself as she plans on making Aria pay for what he's done.
Suddenly out of nowhere winds buffet the two as Aria appears in front of them crying "So sorrowful. I am to hunt a dragon and a knight." Erza and Natsu prepare themselves Aria sends powerful gusts of wind at them with stars attacking them both. Natsu takes the brunt of the attacks as Erza pushes forward and slices through his wind. Aria, shocked begins to disappear in order to drain her magic, but Natsu ignites his fists and punches him while Erza, now in her Heaven's Wheel armor, slices Aria with Pentagram sword. Aria lay on the ground utterly defeated. So much for the most powerful member of the Phantom Four.
Erza looks at Aria in disgust, "And to think that you were able to drain Master's magic. You're nothing more than a fly underneath our boots" she says scaring the living crap out of Natsu. All of a sudden they feel the giant moving as it takes a knee.
Porylusica's hut.
Makarov wakes up feeling much better now. He gets off of the bed and puts a jacket over his clothes. "Where do you think you're going Makky?" The witch asks with authority. Makarov sighs before replying "My children are hurting. One of them is about to do something drastic. I can't afford to stand by. Besides I'm all better now." Porylusica doesn't reply but she knows Makarov is telling the truth. Somehow his magic had been returned allowing him to heal much faster. But she still has some words for him
"You can't keep doing this Makky. Your body isn't as strong as it used to be." Makarov nods before walking out anyway. He's surprised to see his grandson and his team standing by waiting.
"Oi Gramps what're we waiting for?" Laxus smiles as waves of Phantom's flags fly in. Makarov is proud of his grandson "All those by you and your team?" he asks. Laxus shakes his head "Naw. Mystogan had a head start. We just finished off the rest now let's go."
Phantom Lord Control Room
Jose is absolutely livid. Even the Elemental Four are down. Fear begins to creep into him. How strong did Fairy Tail become in the last six years? Laxus, Gildarts, Erza, even Gray and Natsu. And now this boy was a member, a boy whose control over water was more powerful than Juvia's. He's interrupted from his thoughts as Gajeel drops in with the target. Gajeel though looks injured as if he was in the fight for his life.
"Well done Gajeel you did well. How did you find her?" Gajeel drops her in front of Jose. "Never underestimate the nose of a Dragon Slayer. Though I gotta say, I didn't think it would be so tough." Jose wonders what he meant.
Flashback,
Gajeel, Boze, and Sue stand in front of Ur and Reedus. Reedus has been beaten badly while Ur manages to hold her own against the two, her prosthetic leg wasn't tested for battle but she's not planning on giving up easily. She brings her hands together slamming them to the ground in order to make Ice Volcano. The move catches the three by surprise and sends the three flying into the air as an Ice Volcano erupts beneath the three. But as a result of the massive amount of magic and as she still was recovering from Iced Shell, she kneeled breathing heavily, exhausted by the ordeal. Gajeel getting tired of playing around uses his patented Iron Dragon Roar at the Ice mage who attempts to block it with an Ice Shield. But as she sees Reedus get pummeled by Boze's sound magic, she turns around and shouts at Lucy, "Run! Just keep running!" Gajeel uses that momentary distraction keeps up the pressure blowing her away.
Lucy attempts to run only to get knocked down by Gajeel. He picks her up and attempts to head back only to be kicked by Loke. Loke demands "Put Lucy down now." Gajeel takes a sniff as something felt wrong about the mage in front of him. "Hey who are you and why do you smell funny?" he asks. Loke with all sense abandoning him, cockily replies "I don't appreciate men sniffing me so cut it out. I don't swing that way so find another man to sniff" Gajeel, already pissed off due to Ur, just about had it and turned his arm into an iron hoof before extending it launching it at Loke. Loke nimbly dodges and gathers light energy in his fist and punches Gajeel with it. He's about to follow up but all of a sudden he freezes, time catching up to him. Loke whispers mentally "Karen not now please."
Gajeel takes the momentary distraction and punches him down. "Sue, Boze, finish this up. I got a package to deliver." Sue casts mirrors around Loke Boze launches his Sound magic attacks. They double within the mirrors and cause massive damage as he recollects on what happened.
Flashback End.
"Hmm so Ur is a part of the guild as well? How did she recover? We had intel that she was deceased after her battle with Deliora" Jose ponders. Gajeel shook his head before saying"Does it matter? We got what we want lets go now." Jose laughs and rebukes him, "Not a chance. It's time to show those fairies that their luck will run out." Jose then speaks in the loudspeaker, "Fairy Tail you have fought admirably, but we have captured Lucy Heartfillia. And now there's only one thing left. Wipe you off the face of this world."
Back outside.
Natsu and Erza stood still as they heard Jose's announcement, his true intentions clear. Natsu's anger deep within him is rising to apoplectic levels. All it needs is a match to start. Erza slumps near a wall before telling him, "Natsu unleash the power within you. You've been holding back for so long. Believe in yourself, and call it forth. Now is the time. Protect Lucy, protect the guild. NOW GO NATSU, YOU WERE DESTINED TO SURPASS ME!" Natsu's power grows larger and larger, flames envelope his body as they take the form of a dragon taking flight. And with a great surge he flies towards the place Lucy is held captive.
Outside
The shades keep on adding up. The mages are exhausted, they're almost out of magical power. Cana looks at the whole shade army in desperation. All of a sudden the skies darken. Lightning flashes all over the shades striking them down one by one. Then everyone hears the call
"BEAST OF THE SKY, DESCEND FROM THE HEAVENS AND UNLEASH YOUR MIGHT AGAINST MY ENEMIES. COME FORTH, OSIRIS THE SKY DRAGON!"
Another chapter completed. I'm proud to say that I also hit another accomplishment. So many people have viewed this story, over 2600. I'm so happy you guys took the time to read the story I just created. Now you may wonder why Gajeel is less enthusiastic. Honestly I love Gajeel so much that while the first version is still awesome, it still feels like overkill to kick Lucy and rough her up too much. Also I wanted to show that Jose is a true prick. Don't forget to vote on who I should pair Percy with. I am leaning towards Kagura and Erza together with him along with Annabeth just for the badass women to fall for him.
Next Time: Natsu and Gajeel face off. Jose tries to flex and will be humiliated, but not by Makarov. And finally the three beasts will be unleashed on Phantom Lord.
