Chapter 15: Fates Gamble.
"CHAOS!" The mages yell in fear as they stare at Osiris in disbelief. Levy, trying to understand, asks politely, "What do you three mean? How can Chaos be your world's creator?"
The three deities understand their confusion. Obelisk steps forward and replies "In our dimension there exists Primordials, beings that helped shape our world. And amongst them are Order and Chaos, two siblings who helped shape the world we hailed from. After the earthquake fiasco, we asked Chaos to remove the panel we were sealed in from Earth thus preventing any unwanted interruptions. When our panel broke she was the first to investigate and thanks to her, Perseus is still standing."
Lucy then asks, "But how did she send Percy here?" The three study her for a while, scaring her as she felt that somehow she insulted them, before nervously answering "We are not sure" causing everyone to fall anime style. Ra answers though "I suspect that when Chaos brought the boy to her plane of existence, she studied many dimensions, with the help of the Fates, and found one where the boy would be raised well. If that is the case, then she was right. But if you're asking how Perseus arrived here, we cannot answer that. We do know however that Perseus has a hard life ahead of him"
Erza jumps at the word Fates, as do Makarov, Mira, and Laxus. "What do you mean by Fates?" she asks. Ra replies again "The sisters of Fate, Atropos, Lachesis, and Clotho. They are the ones who dictate when mortal lives begin and when they end. They peer into the future and study countless events that could shape mortal lives and weave the threads for each mortal living their lives in their world. And once the time has come for a person to pass, they cut the thread of the person's life." Everyone stares at the three in shock. But one question still remained how did they find this world?
Lucy's eyes brighten before answering, "The Celestial Spirit King, he must know of them. They may have asked him to send Percy from their world, passing through spirit world, and then down to our world." Obelisk stares at the blonde mage, before nodding accepting her theory. "That appears to be the case. Due to the celestial world existing out of this plane of existence, we have had little knowledge of them except when you had summoned your spirits." Natsu and Gray look at the giant and ask incredulously "You mean you didn't know about them?"
Ra glares at the two, forcing the two to hide behind Erza as they hope to avoid punishment, before explaining, "Our knowledge is limited based on the plane we live in. For example, Natsu Dragneel, we can tell you that you and Gajeel are amongst five other dragon slayers who were raised by dragons, before disappearing on July 7th X777. As for you Gray Fullbuster, we know for a fact that Ur, your mentor had a daughter that was taken from her long before you and Lyon met her." The two mages stare in disbelief at Ra, who smiles before saying, "We also know that Perseus enjoys pranking the two of you as you two keep blaming yourselves for anything that happens to you two. Are we wrong?"
Makarov's face darkens before asking "Are you three responsible for those shenanigans of his." The three stare at the old man before falling down laughing, shaking the entire guild hall. Osiris composes himself before answering with a smirk, "Oh no Perseus is a troublemaker at heart. And do not even attempt to change that. We've thoroughly enjoyed his creativity with these pranks. Why he plans to" "Brother please they will suspect something" Obelisk intervenes as Osiris plans on giving away a prank. Ra however states, "Even if he says it, they cannot stop it. Though I must say it is fun to watch him scheming against each and every one of you."
Percy's body begins to glow again "Well it seems our time is up. Perseus is starting to wake up. However, we must warn you, he will begin to have dreams, either about the past, the present, or the near future, some of them might involve events that have happened in this world. So keep an eye out for that. And as a warning, keep our involvement with him within the guild. What happened with Phantom Lord is one thing, but we cannot risk Perseus getting captured due to our presence" Ra states as the three begin glowing as they return back to Percy's body, leaving the mages with questions that have not been answered. However, when they hear a whimper, they stop and crowd the boy as he begins to wake up
Percy doesn't feel right. He's been having weird dreams, some of what happened to him, but others were different. Something about Loke disappearing, a black mage and a young woman, and something about a tower. He opens his eyes and sits up rubbing his eyes "Man, I've been having some dreams lately" he remarks, before feeling his head hit armor. "OW Erza watch it" He says before looking up at the woman in question. He gasps at the sight of her crying, her right eye tearing up. Confused he tries to recall what happened and it hits him. She found out the reason he kept to himself for two whole years. Looking around it seems everyone has been crying. He also sees that he's inside the guild and its renovations. "Wait how long was I out?" he asks.
Lucy approaches the two as she answers "Almost two weeks now." Percy stares at her in shock "TWO WEEKS!" he yells before releasing himself from her grasp. Jumping off the bar, he looks at the knight before bowing "Erza I am so sorry, I missed two weeks of training. I will accept any punishment" "NO!" Erza yells as she lifts him up and hugs him tighter than before, "Never ask for punishment for something you can't control! And especially not after everything you've done for us" she pulls back and smiles.
Cana pipes in, "You stopped a Jupiter blast, created a barrier that prevented Jose's phantoms from hurting us, summoned a GOD to help us, before beating the living crap out of Jose." Lucy adds in, "Not only that but you took on two members of the Elemental Four and beat them." Percy stops her by stating, "I lost, I was overconfident and ended up getting burned" Laxus steps in "Exactly how were you overconfident? You took on the two of them to defend a guild mate from getting captured. And when the guild was threatened you stepped up defending your friends again and again. You're a prime example of what it means to be a Fairy Tail wizard. And I am honored to call you my brother." "As am I. My little brother shown us what a real man can do to defend his friends" Elfman yells out inciting a cheer from the guild.
Percy sheds tears of joy as the whole guild chant his name over and over. Makarov approaches the young boy and hugs him. "You my boy have done a magnificent job against Phantom. And as such, once the guild is rebuilt, we are having a party in your honor." The guild cheer accepting the condition. Percy wipes away tears before yelling out loud. "THEN WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?! LET'S REBUILD THIS GUILD!" Happy and the others chant "AYE SIR"
That night
Percy twists and turns in his sleep as he keeps seeing a single scene repeating itself over and over. "Erza stop don't do it" he mutters. Mirajane and Elfman already awake due to his twisting, shake him trying to wake him up. Percy out of nowhere sits up, "NO! ERZA!" he shouts, his eyes wide open. He looks around and sees Mirajane and Elfman sitting next to him, concern written all over their faces. Mira hugs him tightly, calming him down as she says "Percy it's okay, it was just a dream." Percy shakes his head "It felt so real. I was in a crystal tower, Erza was down. I saw Natsu fighting someone. I don't know who but he seemed familiar." Elfman rubs Percy's back, and states "Erza and Natsu are asleep in an inn at Hosenka."
Percy nods and lays back down "I'm sorry you guys, I never meant" he tries to apologize but Mira puts a finger against his lips "There's nothing to forgive. You were having a nightmare, happens to all of us. And considering what happened recently I'm not surprised. Though we can talk about it in the morning OK?" Mira smiles and she hugs him close as the two head back to sleep, Elfman heading back to his room as well.
Next morning
Mira, after directing Loke's fan club back to Lucy, asks to meet with Makarov and Laxus privately. She's worried about Percy's dreams as they became more and more prophetic. Once in his makeshift office, Makarov asks Mira, "Well Mira you wanted to talk to us. What seems to be the matter?" Mira nervously looks at the two and says "There may be an incident that involves Erza and her team later on. Percy had a nightmare in which he recalled her and Natsu in a tower made out of crystal on an island fighting someone. He also said that the man they were fighting looked familiar, and when I asked about him, he recalled the man having "blue hair with brown eyes and a red tattoo over and under his left eye.""
Laxus ponders this and asks, "That's Siegrain, a member of the council. Why would they fight him?" Mira also recalls, "Natsu had to fight Ultear in Galuna, another member of the council." Makarov takes in the new information and hopes that Percy is wrong about this. "It may have been a dream like the Gods warned us about, one consisting of events in the near future. However, we can't incite panic by spreading this. All we can do is hope that Erza and her team get back from that safely."
Later that night
Percy and everyone in the guild search for Loke, wondering what happened to him. Percy has noticed that Loke has not been himself lately, only keeping to himself. He wonders if it has anything to do with his aversion to Lucy. During the search, he notices Lucy is missing. "Umm anyone seen Lucy lately?" Gray then answers "She said she had something to check on." Percy storms over to him, not able to believe what he heard, and demands "You let her go alone?!Do you realize how much danger she could be in?" Gray, not knowing what's happened to his brother, goes right back and says "It's not like I had a choice, she left before explaining anything to me."
Natsu gets in between Percy and Gray, something he didn't think would happen before, and pushes them apart. He then reminds them, "Percy if Lucy has a lead then we have to trust her. Besides, Lucy can take care of herself." Percy backs off and continues the search leaving the two mages confused. "What's gotten into him?" Gray wonders. Natsu just shakes his head and the two continue searching.
Next morning
"YOU'RE TELLING ME YOU WERE A SPIRIT THIS WHOLE TIME?!" Percy, Gray, Happy, and Natsu yell at Loke, aka Leo the Lion celestial spirit, as he and Lucy retell the tale of the last few days.
"Sorry about that you guys, I didn't mean to worry you" Loke rubs the back of his head. Percy hugs the spirit before checking on Lucy, asking "How are you though, you summoned all of your spirits at the same time. That must have taken its toll." Lucy smiles and hugs her little brother tightly, "Aww you're worried about me" she says, trying to embarrass him. Percy fires back with a smirk, "Of course I was, I made a bet with Levy that you and Natsu would be together. I don't want to lose that bet" Natsu and Lucy fall over before yelling, "There's nothing going on between us!" Percy just nods his head and walks away.
Loke then gives the four of them tickets to the Akane Resort. He had already given one to Erza and the rest was with the other four. As Erza sets up ready to go, Percy stops her. "Erza, promise me you'll come back" Percy asks his eyes looking down. Startled Erza tries to ask why only for Percy to look at her with unshed tears, "Just promise me please" he repeats as he hugs her. Erza smiles, "I promise that we will return" she states as she returns the hug.
The others watching begin to wonder, "Do you think he has feelings for Erza?" Lucy asks. Natsu and Gray look at each other before shaking their heads. Percy lets go and watches as the five of them leave, hoping that whatever he was concerned about doesn't happen.
Tower of Heaven.
A young man sits in his throne waiting patiently. For the past 8 years he was plotting to revive his master Zeref and now the pieces were all in place. All that was needed was a sacrificial lamb. And what better sacrifice than the one called Titania.
"Soon my dreams will come true and Erza will be sacrificed in order to bring Zeref into the world."
Another chapter done. Sorry it took me so long. But I had suffered a bit of a writing block. No worries I will be back to normal posting chapters as fast as I can. So what could possibly worry Percy so much? After all Erza can take care of herself right?
Next time: Percy trains with the Raijinshu, but he can't shake the feeling that Erza is in deep trouble.
