Familiar velvet blue walls greeted Ren again when he awoke in a familiar looking jail cell. He was back in the Velvet Room. Getting up out of the bed in the cell, he looks over and once again finds Lavenza and Igor waiting for him.

"Welcome back," Lavenza greets Ren with a bow, "we have much to discuss."

"I wanted to continue our discussion from before trickster," Igor said. "I am sure you have many questions."

"Yeah, like why do you and Arsene keep calling me trickster and what exactly is this persona power?"

"Tricksters are those that oppose the path that fate has laid out for them," Lavenza said. "They are those that make their own fate."

"I see but what exactly is a persona anyway?"

"Personas represent the many personalities hidden within the user," said Igor. "In the case of your current persona, your rebellious side. You possess the wild card ability, meaning you can hold multiple personas at once." Ren's eyes widen at this.

"There are more personas out there than just Arsene?"

"Yes, they are split into categories called arcana, you can acquire more by making deals and forming a contract with confidants, much like the one you formed today." Igor said. Ren then remembers the strengthening sensation from earlier with Izuku.

"So the more bonds I form, the more personas I have access to."

"Yes," said Lavenza, "the arcana you acquired from before is the fool arcana. But be warned, you have access to a base number of personas that require minimal power but you must train your body to handle more powerful personas, otherwise you will be blown to bits in a sad but pretty spectacular way."

"I'd rather avoid that." Ren said imagining himself spontaneously combusting.

"How you go about it is up to you," Igor said. "But be warned. You have inserted yourself into a conflict that has been waged in relative secrecy between two powerful forces for generations."

"A war that has spanned generations?"

"Yes, it may not be immediate but it will manifest at some point during your journey. Be sure you do not let others compromise your own beliefs. Show the world around you your justice, confront your past when the time comes and remember the bonds you form."

"Here is a key so you can visit us again if need be," Lavenza said handing Ren a fancy looking key. A ringing sound echoes around the room. "It is time to return to your fleeting rest."

Early Morning

Ren woke up feeling like he just slept like a rock. He was surprised to see that he had actually woken up before his alarm went off. When waking up however, he feels something in his pocket that is digging into his leg. He reaches into it and pulls out the key Lavenza had given him.

"So that Velvet Room isn't a dream," Ren thinks to himself. "I doubt that'll be the last I see of that place and maybe then my questions will be answered. Hopefully." Ren gets out of bed and gets ready for school, putting on his uniform and glasses. He heads downstairs to the kitchen to fix himself breakfast and sees a note on the table, alongside a brochure for an aikido school, 'Master Ju's World Class Aikido' it reads.

"Dear Ren," the note reads. "I heard from this public prosecutor at work about this aikido dojo in town that she and her sister go to. I'm busy with work but you seem to have the time. I know your father taught you some things he knew but you haven't been practicing and are probably pretty rusty. The U.A entrance exam is ten months away but you should start preparing for it now. I'll meet you there after school today. Don't worry about fees, I'll take care of that. Love, Mom." Ren looks at the brochure with curiosity.

"I did not want to bring this up in front of your mother and after the day you had yesterday," Arsene said out of the blue, making Ren summon him in order to speak face-to-face with him, "but I have to question your decision to tryout for this so-called 'hero' school. It is a representation of the society that has held you down for who you are tis not?"

"I know," Ren said. "But you saw how I did against that sludge monster yesterday. I did good but I couldn't beat it without help. I feel like this school could help me with that. The students there are taught by the best after all and I need their expertise to better myself."

"I see, so you want to use that knowledge to better yourself and to help further your justice."

"Exactly, it'll also help me get stronger as well so I can use more personas."

"Very well, I see now why you want to go to this 'hero' school. I may not agree with the decision entirely, but you have my support."

"Thanks Arsene." Ren said but then hears Morgana's odd sounding meowing, drawing his and Arsene's attention. "Looks like the cat is hungry for some breakfast too." Morgana makes an annoyed face before a puff of smoke appears and surprises Ren. When it clears a seemingly anthropomorphic looking cat appears wearing a black half-mask on its head, blue eyes, a yellow bandana tied around its neck and a black leather belt with numerous pouches on it.

"For the last time I'm not a cat," the thing said annoyed, "I am Morgana!"

"What the?" Ren said while Arsene gets into a defensive position. "Wait you're Morgana?"

"Yes, the same thing as the 'cat' you saw a moment ago." Morgana said. Ren then walks up to him and starts petting his head. "Hey what are you-"

"Wow you're so soft. You feel like a teddy bear." Ren said as he pets Morgana gently. The latter, though embarrassed at first, starts to enjoy it as his cheeks go red.

"Great," Arsene said, "now you're making me want to pet it."

"Anyways that's enough," Morgana said snapping out of it as Ren stops petting him. "I'm a human originally but I'm just stuck like this for right now and I don't know how I ended up like this."

"I see," Ren said.

"Yeah and I see you have a persona." Morgana said gesturing to Arsene.

"You know what a persona is?" Ren asked surprised.

"I do oddly enough. It's one of the few things I do remember. Here let me show you." Morgana said as he strikes a pose reminiscent of a superhero. "Zorro come out." A blue flame comes out from behind him before a buff looking swordsman with a mustache, black mask, and a matching black cloak with a rapier arrives.

"Ah a fellow persona," Arsene said as he bows in greeting to Zorro. "I am Arsene, a pleasure."

"Nice to meet you," Zorro said in a Spanish accent. "I am Zorro, gentleman swordsman at your service."

"I hate to ruin the moment," Ren said. "But couldn't you have done this in a more open part of the house." It was here that they noticed the kitchen was a mess from Morgana summoning their persona. Silverware was on the floor along with chairs being knocked over and cabinets flung open.

"Oops sorry," Morgana said embarrassed. "Here I'll help clean up." The duo's personas disappear as they begin to clean up the kitchen. Afterwards, Ren puts four pancakes in the toaster, two for him and two for Morgana. He wasn't sure about giving a cat pancakes but did so anyways figuring it to be a learning experience either way. Morgana cut them and went right into eating them. "People like this stuff? It's real dry, a shame because I had high expectations for this."

"You do know you're supposed to put syrup and butter on it first right?"

"Oh crap! That explains a lot. Here pass the syrup." Morgana said as Ren slides the maple syrup down his way. He smothers the pancakes in an avalanche of syrup. He plunges his fork into the pancakes and slides it into his mouth." "Mmm, that's better!"

"They're frozen but glad you like it. We'll have to try fresh ones sometime. You said you have no memory of how you ended up in your uh... current form?"

"Yeah it's strange," Morgana stated in a contemplative tone. "I know about things like personas and stuff but not how I ended up like this or what caused me to."

"Well good thing my mom ran into you. Otherwise you would still be out on the streets probably eating out of a dumpster or something."

"Yeah thanks. Your mom is very kind Ren. But I sense she's not very happy right now. Is it because..."

"Of my dad dying yeah," Ren finishes, causing a brief moment of silence at the table. "He meant a lot to many different people. But mostly the two of us. That set up in the living room is a tribute to who he was." Ren said gesturing to it with Morgana looking back at it. "He was a hero, with quirks around I mean that both figuratively and literally."

"He seemed like he meant a lot to both of you. I'm not sure if I knew someone like that but I would like to. This note said he taught you a few things on self defense. What did he teach you exactly?" Morgana asks as Ren nods, thinking back to a moment a year earlier to recount the story to Morgana.

One Year Earlier...

Ren is knocked to the floor of a mat set up in the backyard of the Amamiya residence, home of the card wielder hero Ace ,a.k.a. Kenji Amamiya and his family. It is a small and modest home on the verge of the town square. Ren is in a white t-shirt with black track pants and sneakers.

"Come on get up," Kenji urged to his son, he is in a white tank top showcasing his slim-fit physique and grey sweatpants. "An opponent is not gonna wait for you to get back up."

"Don't let up Ren!" Yuri, the Amamiya matriarch, shouted in support.

"Yes dad," Ren said getting back up into a fighting stance. He throws a punch at his father who ducks it, grabs Ren's shoulder and attempts a takedown. Ren is able to get out of it with a knee to the gut, causing his dad to stagger a bit. Yuri winces at the blow.

"Ooh, that had a bit more power than I was expecting," Kenji chuckles with a light cough.

"Sorry I didn't mean to do it that hard," Ren said dropping his guard. His father notices it and grabs him by the arm, tossing him into the ground.

"Don't worry I can take a lot more than that. Never drop your guard until you're sure you've bested your opponent." Kenji said offering a hand to his son who takes it. "But I see you've improved a lot."

"Thanks," Ren replied simply.

"Anyways let's take a break for right now. Have a seat if you'd like, I'll get the water." The patriarch said going to get waters. A short while later, the father, mother and son are sitting at a table on their deck in the backyard. "So how are you feeling?"

"Alright I guess. Man these lessons are tougher than I thought."

"Well even in a world with actual super heroes, not everything is sunshine and rainbows."

"Exactly hon," Yuri said. "That's why you need to be ready to defend yourself if need be."

"Yeah we're all so focused and fascinated on powers that those without them or those with weak ones are left in the dust."

"So you're still having issues at school?"

"Not as bad as it used to be, but yeah." Ren replied with Kenji sighing in response.

"It was because of that fight with that one kid wasn't it," Kenji said.

"Yeah the guy thought he was better than everyone else and put down anyone he thought was beneath him, including myself." Ren said as his father looks at him with a stern expression. "I could handle him doing it to me, but there was this one track guy he kept picking on. He seemingly sat and took it but I could see it was really getting to him. I told him to stop one day, but then he said something about you and mom being disappointed in me because I lack a quirk and that you would disown and abandon me because of it. Then next thing I know I knock him hard to the ground and then a teacher takes me away and you know the rest."

"Yes I remember," Kenji said, "you got suspended for the blow. This is the first time you told your side of the story. You didn't say anything about it before and I just brushed it up as you not wanting to say anything."

"Yeah I got angry and I took it out on him."

"Don't ever think that your dad and I are disappointed in you and that we would ever abandon you," Yuri said looking at both her husband and son. "You're our son, being quirkless won't change that."

"It's good that you stood up for someone else and I'm proud of you for that, " Kenji said. "But you shouldn't attack everyone that says something bad about you. Perhaps that was what he was trying to do in the first place. That's why I do these lessons with you. It helps with testing your limits and with control as well."

"I know, I'm sorry."

"It's alright. Just promise me that you'll never fight for a selfish reason."

"I promise, I'll fight selflessly like you."

"Glad to hear it, but you're your own man Ren. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Don't fight selflessly just to satisfy me and your mother, fight selflessly because it's the right thing to do."

"Yes, Dad." Ren said as he finished his water, ready for another round.

Present Day

Ren finished his story as he was cleaning up breakfast.

"Anyways enough about me I gotta get to school," Ren said as he puts his bag on.

"Hang on," Morgana said as he jumps up in the air and turns into his previous form. He crawls up and gets into Ren's bag. "I figure I go with you to see what's out there in the world, plus it'd be pretty boring sitting here in the house all day."

"Alright then, guess I can view it as a way of training anyways. Hey looks I can understand you now in that form," Ren said grabbing his bag.

"Really?" Morgana replied as Ren nods. "It must be because you saw me switch back and forth between those forms. It affected your cognition of me."

"My what?"

"Your cognition. You know the way you see and hear me."

"I see," Ren said as he locked the door and started his daily walk to middle school. "Anyways time to look like a normal kid again." On the way, he looked at his phone for the news looking for any news about yesterday's events. He found it when reading about the sludge villain's encounter with Bakugo. Most of it praised All Might and Bakugo with some references of Izuku. Fortunately for Ren, there was no mention about his first encounter with the villain.

"So encountering this sludge guy was what led you to awaken your persona?" Morgana asked peeping out of the bag.

"Yeah," Ren replied. "I didn't want to let someone else die because of me again and all that experienced is what led to Arsene awakening."

"Again? You mean this happened before." Morgana said as Ren just looks back at him in silence. "Sorry."

"It's fine you didn't know," the trickster replied as he continued his walk to school. "I know I did what I could but I just feel I could have done more you know?"

"Yeah like with me trying to remember things better."

"Something like that," eventually the two arrive at school.

Ren walked the halls with a new set of eyes compared to yesterday. Before he cared what people were saying about him, now he didn't. Though he did walk by some people to hear the latest gossip. Most of it was usual teenager stuff like school, dating and other things. But some of it was about the sludge villain and about Izuku and Bakugo's involvement but Ren had not run into either of them yet.

"Hey you heard about that sludge villain in the news?" A girl student asked a boy student, getting Ren's attention.

"I did," the boy student said. "Weren't two students from our school involved?"

"Yeah, Katsuki Bakugo was caught inside of that icky monster. All that goo in and around you, yuck. Then that Midoriya guy tried to save the day and All Might had to save them both."

"Talk about a hassle, but I bet saving two kids is nothing for All Might. Seems like all that stuff about Bakugo was just too good to be true."

"Hey!" Bakugo's voice rings from down the hall. He walks quickly and angrily towards the boy. "That villain got lucky was all. I'm still gonna be the best thing to walk out of this school and do more than you extra." He points as the boy and girl student frantically walk away.

"Well someone can't handle some criticism," Morgana whispers from Ren's bag.

"And you, four-eyes," Bakugo said walking towards Ren, who stares at him without fear. "I saw you eyeing me yesterday. I'll tell you the same thing I told Deku. I don't need saving from you or anyone. I can handle myself."

"Are you sure about that?" Ren asked plainly.

"Yeah I am. Don't get delusional on me like Deku."

"There's more to him than meets the eye, but if you say so." Ren said and then walked away to get to class.

"Huh, what does he know?" Bakugo said then turned around but bumped into something large, causing him to stop but remain on his feet. His irritation turns into confusion as this thing in a red suit and a flaming smile stares him down. The thing swipes one of its claw-like hands at him. "Shit!" He says surprised and falls just as the thing pulls back at the last minute. The thing laughs and disappears. Some students were freaked out while others start giggling at the seemingly tough Bakugo getting spooked.

"Hey you extras got something to say!" Bakugo exclaimed. The students settle down out of fear and return to their daily routines, all the while ignoring the smirking frizzy haired kid in glasses.

Lunchtime

School had been going by quick and like any other day to Ren. The only notable thing was that his teacher scolded Izuku for muttering too loud. He noticed Bakugo was quiet towards both them, with the exception of Ren's earlier encounter. Perhaps a silent gratitude towards Izuku? Ren was in the cafeteria at a table by himself waiting for his friend. He had ramen from the cafeteria today in front of him.

"That was real smooth of you Arsene." Ren said seemingly to himself but was addressing Arsene.

"Yes, thank you for trusting me," Arsene stated. "I merely wanted to embarrass that arrogant brat, not hurt him."

"No one knows it was me either who brought you out."

"I know," Morgana chimed in. "They probably think the school is haunted by some demon or something. Good sneaking skills for both of you."

"Hey Ren," Izuku greeted Ren, getting the attention of the latter."

"Oh hey," Ren replies as Izuku takes a seat. "How are you doing today?"

"Pretty good especially after yesterday. How about you?"

"Same here, it was a hell of a day yesterday. Still feels like it was all a dream a bit. You know?"

"Yeah I feel the same. Especially with All Might talking to me afterwards."

"He did?"

"Yeah," Izuku pauses for a second to think of a response, getting Ren curious, "He congratulated me for my bravery and that I inspired him to step up."

"Really?"

"Yup, I'll never forget that moment. Kacchan also confronted me too just after you left."

"Yeah he told me. He didn't hurt you did he?"

"Oh no nothing like that. He was actually a bit angry at me saving him but that's just his way of being thankful."

"Is it now?" Morgana chimes in from within Ren's bag. "That certainly sounds like the kid we ran into earlier?"

"Say did you hear a cat just now?" Izuku asks Ren who just shakes his head as Morgana makes a nervous face within the bag. "Must be me then. Oh yeah didn't you say he told you the same thing?"

"He noticed me after he intimidated some kids gossiping about the incident yesterday and then confronted me, basically told me the same thing as you then I left. Arsene had fun with him though."

"Wait that demon thing I heard about going around the school was Arsene?"

"I see he has a reputation now, but yeah that was him. I let him out to give Bakugo a good scare, payback for backhanding me yesterday. I guess I should tell the school about my new abilities so they're not scared."

"Yeah some were intimidated but others got a good laugh out of it. I missed it but heard about it from others." The bell then rings signaling the end of lunch. "Oh crap we better hurry up and finish eating." Izuku said frantically eating his food.

"Uh, right." Ren replies hurrying to finish his lunch as lunch as well.

After School

School had ended on an anticlimactic note for the persona user. He did not run into Bakugo outside of class again and was in the midst of walking to the aikido school with Izuku.

"Say I gotta ask about yesterday," Ren said.

"What about?" Izuku responds curiously.

"You shoved me out of the way of the villain, putting yourself at risk. You did it again yesterday with Bakugo. You could have just left us to our fates but you didn't. If you don't mind me asking. Why did you help us?"

"You both looked like you needed saving," Izuku simply said. Ren chuckles at this. "What?"

"It just sounds like you is all."

"Well it's the truth. It was weird because my body just moved on its own without me even thinking."

"Huh that's odd, I felt something similar yesterday as well."

"Really? I never had something like that before. I guess it's a sign or something."

"Yeah like we're made for this or something. Which gave me an epiphany yesterday."

"What was it?" Izuku asks curiously.

"I was quirkless until yesterday, when I got my persona. I had to have been given this power for a reason. Even with heroes, the strong still trample upon the weak. Even with so many voices, theirs is still somehow silenced. I want to be their shout. Which is why I've decided to go to U.A."

"That's great to hear! I think you would be a great fit for being a hero."

"Thanks, hey we should train together sometime."

"Yeah we should, but I can't today since i already made plans for today." Izuku said rubbing the back of his head.

"That's fine I'm pretty busy myself today. Which speaking of that I gotta meet my mom somewhere so I'll see you later." Ren said waving goodbye and walking off towards the aikido school.

"Bye Ren," Midoriya said back. "He sure seems more determined than before," he begins muttering to himself, "I'm sure it's nothing, but I hope he doesn't do anything too drastic. He seems like he has a lot bottled in or something." He then walks away, on his own path i the direction of the sun.

"Man he is a weird kid," Morgana says peeking out of REN's bag. "Nice, but weird."

"Well he did have a tough childhood I think, being bullied and all with not a whole lot of friends. Kind of like me."

"Come on, you have me, your persona and green hair back there. You have more people supporting you than you realize."

"The cat is right," Arsene says from within Ren. "You have people supporting you and you can make even more friends if you set your mind and heart to it."

"Alright, thanks guys." Ren said with a renewed sense of confidence.

"So then I said," a familiar sounding voice says in the distance.

"Hey, it's that Bakugo kid," Morgana said surprised.

"Damn," Ren said, "I really don't feel like dealing with him. Gotta hide." Ren looks for a good hiding place before spotting a corner. Before he knows it, he suddenly moves like a phantom to the spot taking him by surprise and shrouding the persona user in shadow. Bakugo walks by with his group of friends, failing to notice Ren who looks on perplexed. "What was that?"

"That was a phantom dash," Morgana replies.

"A what?"

"What you just did, you can use that move to move into cover spots and other spots."

"I see. How do you know about this if you're memory is messed up?

"I just do. I can't really describe it. It's one of the few things I do remember."

"I guess that's that then. I'll need to practice this sometime. Will you help me sometime?"

"Of course I will!" Morgana replies eagerly. "It'll help me get out of this bag for and keep active."

"Glad to hear it. Anyways, time to get to this aikido school."

Master Ju's World Class Aikido

Ren arrives at the aikido school, with its white sign, black lettering and a cartoon guy performing a kick in a gi. Ren analyzes the place he'll be learning better self-defense techniques.

"By the way," Morgana said peeping out of Ren's bag, "how are we going to tell your mom about my other form?"

"Let's keep it a secret," Ren replies. "At least for now. She's got a lot going on now with work."

"Yeah makes sense, a lot of people would probably freak out over seeing a talking cat." Morgana said as Ren nods. He walks in to see the white walls with different colored belts and a blue mat where people are practicing their skills.

"Over here Ren," The Amamiya matriarch said waving Ren over to an office. Across from her is a man with black spiked up hair in a white martial arts gi with a black belt.

"Ah you must be Mr. Ren," the man said with a wide smile, "I am Hitoshi Ju, but you can call me Master Ju."

"Hello sir," Ren said shaking his hand and taking a seat," it's nice to meet you."

"Likewise. I was just telling your mother here about our school."

"Are you sure you want to do this Ren?" Yuri said. "You don't have to do this for the sake of your father.

"I'm sure, I'm doing this for me."

"Anyways, lets talk about what this school is all about." Master Ju went into detail about the school from what it's about to when Ren can come in for class. "Now I have to tell your mother about payment details. We have a class in session right now so why don't you watch and see what you can expect. There's someone there I think you can get along greatly with."

"Alright, thanks sir. I'll leave you two be." Ren gets up and moves to a set of chairs near the class. Seemingly still setting up, Ren grabs a nearby magazine and begins to look at it.

"Wow!" Morgana says peeping out of the bag, looking at a blonde girl posing for a magazine. "That is the most gorgeous girl I've ever seen. She's looks just like a princess."

"It says her name is Ann Takamaki. Maybe we'll be fortunate enough to meet her one day."

"Boy I hope so!"

"After you keep it down, I don't think animals are allowed in here."

"Hey I'm not a-"

"Hyah!" A girl says real loud, getting Ren's attention. The girl is in a gi surrounded by three older students and looks to be about the trickster's age. One of the students approach her and she expertly takes them down, smoothly.

Here Ren gets a better look at her features. Dark brown shoulder length hair that complements her mauve eyes nicely. Another student attempts to get in close but she knocks them back with a light push kick. She goes towards the third student who dodges to the side in a swift manner. But the girl strikes with a sweep kick that knocks them to the ground. She strikes a pose, standing above her three opponents. Ren claps at this catching the girl's attention.

"Oh," she said blushing a bit. "Thanks."

"That was very impressive," Ren said, "you must go at this thing hard."

"I guess I do, I enjoy doing aikido."

"Oh sorry, forgot to introduce myself. I'm Ren Amamiya."

"Makoto Niijima," she said. "I don't think I think I've seen you here before.

"I'm a new student here, or I will be soon since my mom is finalizing the stuff now."

"I see, Master Ju is quite the character but he teaches some great stuff. What makes you want to do aikido anyways?"

"I'm planning on trying out for U.A and I figure I can pick up some self-defense techniques to help out."

"Nice to see someone trying to be a hero. I'm actually a first-year there myself."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I guess I take after my father and sister. He was a cop and she's a public prosecutor. Seems justice is the Niijima family tradition."

"Same here, my mom's a detective as well and my dad was a pro hero named Ace. Have you heard of him?"

"I haven't. So you know what it's like to live with high expectations."

"I guess so. I'm sure your family is proud of you."

"Yeah," Makoto said awkwardly. "Sorry it's just it's extremely difficult getting into that school and I'll be glad to help out another hopeful with preparing, not just in here but elsewhere too."

"Thanks, why don't we share contact info to stay in touch if that's alright with you."

"Sounds good to me." Makoto said. The two exchange phone numbers and talk for a bit longer. Eventually, Yuri leaves the office.

"Are you ready to head out Ren?" Ren's mother said.

"Yeah, nice meeting you Makoto." Ren said walking in his mother's direction.

"You too Ren." Makoto said.

The mother and son leave the school to head to the car.

"Man I don't feel like cooking tonight," Yuri said to her son, warming up the car. "How about we go to Leblanc?"

"I'm not really into coffee and curry."

"Come on, their curry is to die for and you don't have to get coffee if you don't want to. Plus it would be nice if you actually met the owner. He is an old friend."

"Alright sure." Ren said as the car drives along with its destination set for the quiet little coffee and curry joint known as Leblanc.

"Hello there," an older voice greets. The Amamiyas walk into Leblanc, the brown interior with a few booths and a bar area with numerous types of coffee beans on display. A few patrons sit inside.

"Long time no see Sojiro," Yuri said.

"Ah Yuri, it's been a long time." Sojiro said shaking her hand.

"That it has, too long."

"So who's this with you?"

"Oh this is my son Ren," Yuri said gesturing to him.

"Good to meet you, I'm Sojiro Sakura," the Leblanc owner said shaking Ren's hand.

"Likewise sir."

"I've heard about you from your father. Sorry for your loss."

"Thank you."

"Anyways, come take a seat. What can I get for you two?"

"Just coffee and curry Sojiro." Yuri said.

"Same here." Ren said. Sojiro nods and readies up the shop's signature cuisines.

"An environment that promotes both feelings of calmness and familiarity," A blue-haired patron says to himself which Ren picks up on. "I wonder how I could use this for my next art piece?"

"It does promote a serene atmosphere," another patron, one with what looked like black-haired bird's head, said. "I would never have expected this from a coffee shop."

"Here you go," Sojiro said handing two cups of coffee to the Amamiyas. They both give thanks.

"I wonder if he's looking for some help here," Ren thinks to himself. "Looks like it's just him."

"It would be a good way to meet new people," Arsene said. "Aren't you too young though?"

"I could see real quick," Ren thinks before he stops eating a bit. "Hey Sojiro!" Ren says which make makes Sojiro come over.

"Anything I can do for you?"

"Actually I was wondering if you could use some help around here, it just seems like a lot for one person to be doing all this."

"Are you saying you're interested in a job here?"

"Yes sir."

"You wanna work?" Yuri said mid-chew.

"I do, I could meet more people this way."

"I appreciate the offer but you might be a bit young to be working here. Plus I don't have the money to pay you." Sojiro said.

"I know and I'm ok with that."

"I do have you listed as a legal guardian Sojiro so it should be ok." Yuri said.

"Alright, just come in when you have free time since you do have school. Plus I do hear you're a bit of a trouble maker from what your father has told me about you."

"Don't call him that Sojiro," Yuri said.

"Sorry Yuri," Sojiro said.

"I'll be on my best behavior." Ren said.

"Ok then. Looks like we have a deal then." After this, the door opens as another customer enters Leblanc, a thin blonde man. "Welcome."

"Hey there," he says as he takes a seat next to Ren.

"You want the usual?"

"Yes, please."

"And that concludes our story on the hero killer," the news anchor on the tv said, drawing Ren's eye. "In other news, police are still investigating the sludge villain's attack yesterday in regards to whether he worked alone or had accomplices.

"Man that was something else yesterday," Sojiro said with a cigarette in hand. "That kid running in there like that. It was stupid. Brave, but stupid."

"Perhaps, but he did distract that thing enough for All Might to save the day." Yuri said having cleaned her plate of curry.

"Wait this guy," Ren thinks to himself while staring at the blonde man in front of him, zoning out for a bit.

"Can I help you at all?" He asks, causing Ren to shake his head a bit.

"Sorry, zoned out there. It's just you were there yesterday at the rampage weren't you?"

"You have a good eye kid. Yes I was there." The blonde man said, taking a sip of his fresh cup of coffee. "Don't think I've ever been so close to a fight like that before."

"I don't often find myself in those situations often. Especially since I grew up in the countryside."

"Yeah it can be quite overwhelming I imagine. You can call me Toshi by the way."

"Ren, nice to meet you."

"You finished eating Ren?" Yuri said noticing REN's mostly cleaned plate.

"Uh yeah I am," Ren said as Yuri waves Sojiro over for the check. Right as he hands it, he also hands Ren a small notebook.

"Here kid," Sojiro said. "Writing usually helps me get my thoughts together so it might help you too. Being a teenager is tough you know?"

"Oh thank you," Ren said taking it and putting it in his shirt pocket. The Amamiyas bid thanks and farewell as they leave Leblanc.

"Look at you making all kinds of new friends," Yuri said walking back to her car. "You're getting more and more outgoing I've noticed. Even talking to people twice your age."

"I guess I have."

"I'm proud of you Ren."

"Thanks mom."

Night Time

Thunder roars as pouring rain comes down. Around a quiet alley, sits Ren overlooking a fight in a worried state. A short distance away is two figures, one standing tall and one hunched over on one knee and bleeding from wound in his stomach.

The hunched man springs up and goes for a punch but is dodged by the other man,a a well dressed man in a black suit and helmet covering his face, to which he delivers and elbow to his back sending him reeling to the ground.

"I'm disappointed in you Ace," the well dressed man says. "I was expecting more of a fight out of you."

"I still got a few tricks up my sleeve," said Ace weakly.

"That's all well and good Ace but we can stop this now if you tell me where All Might has sullied off to. He was here a few days ago and you helped him out. So surely you must know where he has gone to now."

"I told you already. He left a few days ago and I don't know where he's gone to next. Probably one of the big cities."

"So it seems you truly don't know," the man said raising a hand up with what looks like wires sticking out of his fingers. Ren, from a distance picks up on this. "Still, your card quirk is quite unique. One of a kind really. I'm sure you don't mind if I procure it for a while, this won't hurt that much."

"No!" Ren shouts running with both his in front of him trying to tackle him to the ground. It only lightly pushes him as Ren trips to the wet concrete below.

"Ren, get out of here!" Ace shouts to his son.

"Looks like we have someone too nosy for their own good. I wonder what quirk you have?" The man said as the wire from his fingers launches toward Ren. He stares wide-eyed, bracing for impact. But then someone steps in to shield the boy from the blow, his own father has taken the blow for him. "Well it seems like I've gotten one thing I came for at least."

Ace is then released and falls to the ground besides his son. Ren goes to check up on his father, kneeling over him.

"Dad are you alright?" He asks worriedly whilst looking up for a quick second to find the man gone. "Dad come on we gotta get you out of here." He shakes his father and yet no response. "Come on Dad say something! You're Ace the hero you can't die!" He continues shaking him as blood covers his hands, tears flow from his eyes and police sirens ring out into the rainy night sky. One pulls up, in which one Yuri Amamiya gets out and runs up to him. Seeing the dead body of her husband and her frantic son.

"No," she says softly, holding back tears. Ren hears this and runs up to his mother, hugging her for any kind of comfort.

"He's dead Mom!" Ren said. "And it's my fault!"

Ren wakes up suddenly in the dark night and looks around frantically. It was a dream, a nightmare that had happened for real months ago that still remains just as haunting as it was before. Ren puts his hands into his face as a means of composing himself.

"Are you ok?" Morgana, who decided to sleep with Ren, asks.

"Y-yeah," Ren says. "Sorry, just a bad dream." He gets up out of bed and heads downstairs with a destination in mind, the memorial to his father. He arrives at it, taking it all in. The coat that once held the blood of Kenji Amamiya sits on a wall. Ren leans on it and looks down. It was here he notices a hand sitting on his shoulder, a clawed hand that he instantly recognizes as Arsene's.

"You're not at fault for what happened to your father," Arsene said. "You have only that well dressed man to blame."

"Thanks," Ren said. "I just feel like I could have done more or if I wasn't there. He'd still be alive."

"You can't know that for certain. There was nothing you could have done that would have saved them. I just wish I had come around sooner."

"Like you said, we have only that villain to blame. With what I want to do, I'm sure we can find him and avenge Dad one way or the other."

"I know we can."

"Also how did you come out? I didn't summon you."

"I do have the power to come out on my own, but I usually choose not to since I do have respect for you."

"Well thank you then. Anyways lets get back to bed. It's a new day for us in the morning and the only thing I know for certain is that these next 10 months are gonna go by quick."

So this took much longer than it should have. I could sit here and make excuses but I really just didn't have the energy to do this since I had a job writing multiple articles a week and I got burned out from it. But better late than never.

I wanted to lay the foundation for the 10 months until the exam so that way I can get to the meat of the story faster. Also I hope I got Sojiro right since I didn't want to find a balance between his grumpiness and his big heart. Anyways time to answer some questions.

Guests: I'm pretty sure personas don't have sentience like I've shown in the story but I always like it when they interact with their user. To avoid confusion though, only Arsene and his other two forms will be able to speak to others.

Makoto is actually the one I romance when I play Persona 5. She's in the running for who Ren will end up though I haven't fully decided whether he'll end up with one of the persona or MHA girls yet.

Karlos1234ify: Will Deku get a persona? You'll have to read to find out. Though if he does get one, I'm up for suggestions as to who it should be.

Thank you for reading.
