Chapter 1: The Queen Meets Her King
-Port Clovis, Louisiana/Florida coastline-
In the seas of Sapphire Bay, a heavily armored ship was currently being jumped on by a gargantuan nigh Megalodon sized Shark. The shark was glowing blue, and was covered about to tail in growths that sported extensions that were also glowing blue with electricity. Even its eyes were glowing, giving it an almost alien appearance. On its head seemed to be a domino mask made of these growths.
This is the Maneater of Port Clovis, and she had her target right where she wanted him. Her target was an old man in overalls that sported a whiting red beard and had a burn scar on the left side of his face. He had also lost his right arm and left leg to her in two seperate previous encounters.
This is Pierre LaBlanc, aka Scaly Pete, the man that killed the shark's mother, C-sectioned her and scarred her for life. Giving her two large notches on her dorsal fin and two long scars going along her side.
As the creature climbed into the boat, it cornered her prey against several tanks of gasoline and crates of dynamite, which he looked back at…
Wait… Dynamite?
"Laissez le bon temps rouler." Pete said in a thick Cajun accent before pressing a button as the Maneater lunged at him.
An explosion went off, and the vicious shark was sent flying before splashing back into the water. Scaly Pete was dead for sure after that blast while she was alive, though she was certainly injured. She needed to flee Port Clovis, and she needed to do so immediately.
As luck would have it, a piece of debris from the blast hit one of the nodes maintaining the barrier that marked Port Clovis' border in the sea, causing the section it was in to go offline.
Acting quickly, the creature swam out of the waters of the godforsaken hellhole that she was forced to call her home for her entire life. And like most sharks, she never looked back.
(Later)
Days, if not weeks of swimming later, the female Bioelectric Bull Shark was nearing the section of the Gulf of Mexico where Port Iris was located. And as it did, it sensed the presence of a mutagen container nearby.
Swimming toward it, deciding that it'd have to do, she pried it open and downed the contents without a second thought. Had she'd paid attention, she would have seen that it had TCRI on its side.
This would be the catalyst for the next stage of her life. After an hour or two of swimming later, the shark suddenly felt something in her start to change as she reached the coast of Night City. Groaning in pain, she suddenly started to glow brightly as her body began to change.

Meanwhile, both V and Jackie were driving to the former's house after getting back to the mainland after their six months at sea for their naval tour. They were currently in V's Quadra Type-66, otherwise known as the Cthulhu.
This vehicle was Navy blue in color, with black fenders and trim, black pinstriping on the sides and trunk. It also had turquoise, red and brown Aztec tribal saddle blanket interior, and finally black rims and neon blue lights on the undercarriage and vents.
It had been over two years since the two had first met and since V had joined the Navy, and now the two were best friends. They were even serving on the USS Theodore Roosevelt together.
As they pulled into the driveway and parked, the two soldiers got out and stretched their legs.
"Ah, home sweet home." V sighed as he walked into the house's kitchen and pulled out a cardboard can of Planters Cheese Ball and started eating them as he walked into the living room and sat down in his favorite leather recliner next to Jackie who was on the couch.
"You know those things are bad for you, right amigo?" Jackie questioned as he popped open a Modelo Negra.
"Fucking hell, Jackie. Just because we're roommates doesn't mean you need to be my dad. I don't need you worrying about what I'm eating." The ex-Nomad retorted as he ate the crunchy snack. "I get enough of that from Captain Ishmael." He added.
"Suit yourself. I'm gonna go see Manny. I'm sure he's itching to see us again." Jackie shrugged before going to see their pet lizard.
V laid back in his chair as he turned on the TV and started flipping through the channels, until he reached the news station where there was a report going on about a breaking news story in Port Clovis.
"This just in, an explosion went off in Port Clovis' Sapphire Bay. A witness reported seeing Pierre 'Scaly Pete' LeBlanc along with several shark hunters in the area, but couldn't see what their target was until just moments before the blast." The reporter began.
"Pete? Tch. That guy can kiss my ass." V scoffed.
"Their target was apparently the infamous 'Maneater.' The witness even managed to catch a shot of the creature just before Scaly Pete detonated the explosives he had on his boat." The reporter continued as an image of the creature appeared, causing the silver eyed man to blink.
"What the-? What in the world caused those mutations?" He wondered. "But still, Maneater or not, that is a gorgeous looking Bull Shark." He added, admiring the size of the beast.
"The creature had allegedly killed Pete's son at least two months prior, though that was proven false when he washed ashore and was rushed to the hospital." The man continued. "On another topic, the waters of Port Clovis have tested positive for radiation and mutagen traces, both of which match what can be found at the TCRI scientific conglomerate." He added.
'That explains the mutations.' V thought as he listened.
"Back to the Maneater, the Coast Guard investigated the area and found no trace of the shark. Wait…" The reporter trailed off as he read a piece of paper that was handed to him. "I've just received word that a piece of the high tech barrier that represents the border of Port Clovis' waters was damaged and went offline. There's a possibility that the Maneater has escaped. Though this is unproven at this time." He said.
"So the shark is probably loose… Hmph. It's Scaly Pete's fault all those people died, as far as I'm concerned." He scoffed. In his eyes, dying while fighting the Maneater was just karma biting him—rather hardly, he might add—in the ass.
Though as he turned the TV, a faint bioluminescent glowing blue pulse caught his attention out of the corner of his eye from the window door leading to his back porch.
"Uh, Jackie? I think you better come look at this." He called.
"Why? What's the…" The bruiser started to say as he entered the living room and spotted the glow. "... Chiqado! The fuck is that?" He wondered.
"No idea. Let's check it out, but be careful about it." V replied. The hispanic man nodded. The two approached the door and the former Nomad cautiously opened it. Glancing around, he spotted the source of the light on the beach. "It's on the beach. Let's get a closer look." He said.
"Right behind you." Jackie nodded as he pulled out his pistol. You don't live in Night City without one. The duo made their way to the light on the beach, and found something that shocked them.
It was a woman, and she didn't look at all normal. This woman had electric blue skin, EE-cup breasts, bioelectric growths that all ended in a domino mask made of the growths. As well as an hourglass figure, webbed hands and feet, gills on her neck, and long and spikey sea green hair. She also had two razor scars going down her left side.
Oh, and she was naked.
"The hell…? Is this a mutant?" Jackie whispered. V didn't answer, he was too busy staring at the woman to utter a reply. As he took in the details of her appearance, he was mesmerized by her. She was… the most beautiful creature he had ever seen in his entire life. And that was saying something because he was no stranger to beautiful women.
'She's… perfect.' He thought, entranced by the woman's beauty. Jackie then shook him out of his stupor, bringing him back to reality.
"Que? Hey, snap out of it, amigo." He told him, waving his hand in front of his friend's face.
"S-Sorry… We should get her inside, before she's seen." The man told his roommate.
"Right. She looks pretty worn out." Jackie nodded as he put his pistol away and grabbed her legs while V grabbed the woman's shoulders.
As they carried her inside, they laid her on the couch where Manny was resting on the spine of the piece of furniture like a literal bump on a log.
"Whoo! She sure is heavy for a girl who's that small." Jackie sighed, wiping his brow.
"What kind of mutant is she to be that heavy?" V wondered as he looked her over… and noticed something very familiar. "Oh shit…" He gasped.
"What?" The other man asked.
"I don't know what happened, but… this is the Maneater of Port Clovis." The ex-Nomad said in shock.
"What?" The man gasped, hands on his head. "Chingada Madre! How do you know for sure?!" He added.
"I saw an image of her on the news earlier. Apparently a guy named Scaly Pete was trying to kill her… Guess how that went." V explained, his voice becoming flat at the end.
"Jesus." Jackie said in his native tongue, rubbing the back of his head. "Anything else I need to be made aware of?" He asked.
"The news did say something about radiation and mutagen. That would explain… well, this." The other man replied as he gestured to the shark woman. "... We should probably cover her up." He added.
"Agreed." Jackie nodded as he went to go get a blanket. When he left, V took a moment to think about what he literally brought into his house.
'How did you get here?' He thought to himself as Jackie came back with a blanket and put it over the woman.
"I'm gonna try to get us some food. Want anything?" The man asked.
"Something small. Maybe a ham and cheese sandwich." V replied.
"How does a Popeyes fried chicken sandwich sound?" Jackie asked.
"Sounds great." The former wanderer nodded. "Better make it three just in case." He added, hearing the woman's stomach growls as she turned over.
With that, Jackie left to get their food, leaving V alone with the Maneater… If he could even view his guest as such.
Deciding to let her sleep, the former Nomad turned on the TV again and on came the Night City 54 news.
"In other news, the Militech squadrons patrolling Port Iris after the escape of the infamous Maneater of Port Clovis is still ongoing. Currently no sign of the creature has been found, but updates are still pending." A reporter said.
"Knowing them, they'll be watching the waters. They'll never think to look in someone's home." V muttered. Changing the channel he soon landed on TNT, which was playing back to back NCIS episodes.
Though this change in channel seemed to cause the shark woman to stir, and this made Manny wake up and roll over until he plopped on her stomach… Which caused her to wake up.
"Huh?!" She gasped, causing V to snap his head to her with a surprised look.
'Shit, I wasn't expecting her to wake up so soon!' He thought as the woman sat up and looked around frantically.
The woman kept looking around until her eyes finally adjusted to the lights and shadows of the room and allowed herself to calm, until her eyes landed on the iguana on her lap.
"Hm?" She hummed curiously as she ran a finger along his body… Before realizing she had hands, wasn't in the ocean and wasn't suffocating. "What… happened… to… me?" She wondered slowly, testing her voice for the first time. To V, her voice was just as amazing as her appearance.
If he had to compare it to someone who he knew the voice of, he would most likely compare it to Juvia Lockser from Fairy Tail.
It was at this point that the shark woman's nose immediately picked up the scent of humans, causing her to snap her head right in the former Nomad's direction and proceed to look right at him. Her eyes were framed by the Bioelectric growth domino mask that actually complemented her electric blue orbs.
V dared not move a single inch lest he get a negative reaction. Even if she was more or less human now, she still had the mindset of an animal, most likely. The shark woman stood up, or rather, tried to since she ended up stumbling and colliding with the man, causing them to fall to the floor. Manny had opted to move the moment the woman did, and was looking at them from the couch.
The soldier let out a groan as he shook the cobwebs from his head. When he opened his eyes, he found himself staring into the entrancing eyes of his mutant guest. The shark woman, likewise, was stunned by the silver eyes of the human underneath her.
'She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.' The man thought, right as he noticed that his hands were currently holding her by her plump, peach shaped ass, which made her moan slightly and start sending out small bolts of electricity.
'Mmmm… His hands feel good on me…~' She moaned internally as she snuggled into him, her body continuing to emit electricity.
V was actually surprised at what she was doing. Deciding to take a risk, he got up, which made her whine before he pulled her onto the couch and placed her head on his lap and started rubbing her back. This made her start to feel a sense of safety, which was very new since she never felt that way—except in her grottos—and very much liked it.
"You feel alright?" He asked the woman currently in his arms.
"Yes…" She sighed in bliss as she snuggled into him. "I want more." She added. This surprised the man a bit, but he smiled at her and hugged her close again as he let her fall asleep on top of him this time.
(Later)
Later on, Jackie walked into the house again with food in hand as he closed the door. "Yo, V! I got some grub for us!" He called from the doorway.
When he didn't get an answer, he wondered what was up. Deciding to place the food in the kitchen, he went into the living room and found his roommate sleeping with their shark guest without a care in the world. The sight made him smile.
"Guess the Maneater's really just a softie under all that hunger." He muttered as he pulled the blanket over them and let them sleep blissfully.
About twenty minutes passed and the man had already eaten his food, when the shark woman's nose picked up the scent of food and she slowly woke up, which made V wake up as well… Right into the woman's very ample chest.
"Eh?" The mutated shark uttered as she looked at him and smiled while a purple blush appeared on her face as V removed his face from her cleavage with a massive blush.
"S-sorry about that." He apologized. The woman just continued to smile as she pulled his head back into her chest.
"I don't mind." She told him simply. Then her attention was drawn back to the smell of food, which made her perk up. "Food!" She exclaimed as she let go of the ex-Nomad and got to her feet… and fell back on him again, causing the man to grunt and her to whine in disappointment.
Jackie, meanwhile, was chuckling at what he was saying while Manny was straight up laughing. That's right, the lizard knows how to laugh.
"Here, let me help." V sighed, rolling his eyes as he handed her the sandwich that was meant for her, the fries and the peach sweet tea that came with it.
"Ya know, we should really give her a name." Jackie commented as the woman ate a fry before deciding to eat the rest, liking the way they tasted.
"Hmm?" The Shark woman hummed, taking a sip from her drink.
"Well." V said as he scratched his head. "I did see a few forums online call her 'Elektra'." He suggested, which made both of them shake their heads.
"Too obvious." Jackie noted.
"And down in New Japan on Port Iris's south east, people there are calling her Raiko." The former Nomad added. Jackie mulled it over in his head and nodded.
"Yeah, that should work nicely. Hm… Yeah, Raiko Mizukage." He said, coming up with a surname for their new roommate.
"Mmmm." Raiko nodded in approval as she continued to eat her sandwich hungrily. "So good." She moaned in delight.
'That mutagen must've really had an effect on her digestive system.' V noted mentally, spotting no problems with Raiko eating non-meat foods like the bread and pickles of the sandwich.
"And we should probably get her some clothes too." Jackie noted. "Problem is I'm not sure the local mall sells her sizes in underwear." He added.
"Yeah, that's gonna be a bit of a problem." V nodded. "I would suggest swimwear, but I'm not sure they sell her size either." He added.
"Let's get her measurements and find out." The bruiser said. V nodded as he went into the kitchen to grab a tape measure before he came back and made Raiko stand up.
The shark woman's legs wobbled since she was still getting used to having them, but after a moment, she was able to finally stand up straight. This made the two men finally take notice of how tall she really was.
"Damn. Didn't think she'd be this tall." Jackie whistled, seeing that Raiko was nearly as tall as them.
"Probably left over from her time as a Mega Shark." V shrugged as he started taking measurements and quickly took notice that her measurements equalled out to the exact same as the girl whom she shared a similar voice to: Juvia Lockser.
However her chest was considerably larger than the manga character's, since most data books gave Juvia a D or DD rack while Raiko's had measurements that were equal to that of an E or EE cup.
"Whoa. That's one impressive rack." The former Nomad whistled. This was impressive because he had seen bigger racks on women before, but they were either fake, enhanced by cybernetic breast enhancement or the result of very convincing bra padding.
It was rare for it to be natural, so Raiko definitely had an advantage.
Raiko blushed at his words, and oddly enough, felt flattered. "T-thanks." She stuttered.
"Don't mention it." V told her, patting her on the head before turning to Jackie. "Remind me, do we know anyone who does custom clothes?" He asked.
"Yeah. I know just the person. I'll go put in a call." The man nodded before leaving to make said call.
"Hmm…" V hummed as he looked at Raiko, who kept herself covered with a blanket and was still nervously sending out static electricity at random. "We're going to have to get you some sort of image inducer." He noted.
"H-how long do t-t-those last?" She stuttered. V walked over to her and pulled her into a hug to try and calm her down.
"Relax. I know a guy who's the best in town. He'll be able to get you a real good implant and then install it the same day. He's so good he could even do it in his sleep." He reassured her. "His name is Vikter Vektor, the best Ripperdoc in all of NC." He added.
"Ripper...Doc?" Raiko asked, confused and slightly intimidated by the name. She even tilted her head in a way that made V's heart skip a beat.
"Yeah. Ripperdocs are medical practitioners that people can go to nowadays who can install a variety of cybernetic prosthetics we normies call cyberware." The man said as he pointed to his personal augmentations, which were honestly pretty basic. "There are many that operate legally, but some conduct illicit deals, such as installing military-grade cybernetics for the right price." He continued. "And trust me, our boy Vik? He's damn near the best in the biz. You'll be just fine." He told her
"I… guess I'll trust him…" Raiko said nervously before she found her head pulled into the crook of V's neck, which calmed her down.
"Atta girl." The former Nomad said as he pulled out his phone. "Call Vik." He said as the phone dialed. A few seconds later someone picked up.
"Hey, V. You still on your tour, or on leave?" A deep male voice asked as he answered.
"I'm on leave Vik. Hey listen, I got a favor I need to ask of ya." V said as he continued to hold Raiko close.
"What do you need?" Vik questioned.
"I have a friend that just arrived in Port Iris recently. She's never had any augments in her life, and I need someone I can trust to help her out with getting some safely. You up to the challenge?" V asked.
"First timer? Eh, sure why not. What's she need?" The Ripperdoc asked.
"An image inducer, preferably one that runs on bio electric batteries?" He replied.
"Hmmm. Gimme a second." The man said as he shuffled around. "Well, you're in luck. A contact of mine from inside Arasaka industries just got me a few Kiroshi Tech image inducers last week. Pristine ones too." He added.
Arasaka industries was a Japanese technology conglomerate known for doing dealings and allying with the Foot Clan. Real dangerous people.
"Whoa, Kiroshi Tech? That's the best stuff on the market. You sure you wanna use that, Vik?" V asked as he looked at Raiko, who seemed confused.
"I'm sure. If I'm gonna help a first timer, I'm gonna make sure they're satisfied with my procedures and the outcome." The cybernetic doctor replied. "Bring her by when she's up to it. I'll have the inducer on stand by." He instructed.
"Will do Vik. Thanks a million, I'll be sure to repay you big." The Nomad said.
"You're welcome V. Hey, where'd you say your friend was from again?" The man asked.
"Oh, she came from Port Clovis." The man replied.
"... I don't blame her for leaving. That place sucks fresh ass." Vik said flatly, getting a snort from V.
"Too true." He nodded.
"This girl have a name? What'd she use to do?" The ripperdoc asked.
"Her name's Raiko. And she… It's a long story, but the short of it? She was hunted for most of her life because of her unnaturally high bioelectricity. People over there wanted to turn her into a living battery." The Nomad… partially lied, it was no secret that scientists in Port Clovis wanted to capture Raiko alive for study when she was there.
"They- Oh hell no! No living being is getting turned into a living battery in my lifetime!" Vik growled. Raiko actually found herself appreciating how Vik wanted to help her. "You made a good call, contacting me, V. I'll be sure to help your girl out best I can."
"Thanks Viky, and when you see Misty again, tell her me and Jackie said hi, and thanks for housesitting for us." The man smiled.
"No problem, kiddo. See ya soon." Vik said before hanging up. It was at this point that Jackie reentered the picture.
"Great news, I just got off the phone with Misty and she's already working on getting our girl some clothes made." The bruiser stated. "What's up on your end?" He asked as Raiko laid back down on the couch and V handed her his old childhood toy: a large blue shark plushie, as she got underneath her blanket.
"Vik's fully ready to help out. Even got a Kiroshi grade inducer in pristine condition ready for her." The silver eyed man replied.
"Chingada! Nice deal hermano!" The man said in surprise as Manny crawled up to his shoulder and dropped an unpeeled banana into his hand. "Thanks, Manny." He grinned as the two shared the fruit… and saw Raiko sound asleep with her new toy hugged close to her body.
She honestly looked like a baby, like she hadn't had a decent sleep in years.
"She looks so peaceful, it's impossible to view her as a monster." V said softly. He wanted to run his hand through her hair, but resisted the urge.
"Poor kid. She probably never had a quiet moment before now." Jackie sighed, Manny copying his deflated expression. "But, that's where we come in." He smiled.
"Yeah." The Nomad smiled back as he stroked Raiko's cheek, noticing that she had a scar near her eye on the side where her other scars were. "Come on, let's leave her be." He said as the two got up.
"*yawn* Yeah, I'mma go for my nighttime eight hour siesta. See ya in the morning, V." Jackie said as he went to his room. V looked at Raiko one last time before kissing her on the forehead, which caused her to smile in her sleep as her biolights glowed dimly to indicate she was asleep.
"Rest easy, Raiko. You're safe now." He whispered before deciding to turn in for the night.

Meanwhile in the underwater estuaries of an abandoned TCRI complex near Port Clovis, giant jaws chopped through the rusted metal gates and revealed a glowing pair of white eyes and a pair of red eyes staring at the water in front of them.
It was like the wise Quai Gon Jinn once said: There's always a bigger fish.
Dragon Emperor0: What the…? Is that what I think it is?
ThermalsniperN7: I think so. But enough of that. Everyone, say hello to Raiko Mizukage, the shark woman!
Dragon Emperor0: And as you can see, despite her reputation as a Maneater, she's not ferocious, angry or crazy at all. Just anxious, scared, unsure and absolutely adorable. She's basically still the little pup who was thrown into the swamp all that time ago.
ThermalsniperN7: And as such, must be treasured and loved. Anyone who wants to use her as a battery is chum. Lookin' at you, Port Clovis!
Dragon Emperor0: That aside though, it's absolutely criminal that there aren't any Maneater Fanfics. Especially with how popular the game is getting. And with the DLC coming soon… That being said, if you guys have any ideas for plot plans or things of that nature, let us know.
ThermalsniperN7: Yeah. We wanna make this Maneater story good. Anyway, see you guys next time!
