She never thought she's seen this thing again. Not in this life of the next. The fling of a tarp revealed it to the retired Digidestined. Before them sat a computer straight out of the 90s. Its beautiful purple case almost looked new.
Sitting in the desk's chair Edward spun to the screen. Pressing a couple of buttons the machine beeped. The monitor came to life a light filled the room. The background was that of the two of them together before their last encounter with the D-Reaper. Opening a coding program he glanced back at her.
"I'm not going to try to apologize again." He whispered in a hurt voice
"That's for that best." the voice of a disappointed girlfriend
Turning his attention back to the monitor he started to type. A mishmash of numbers and letters appeared on the screen with every keystroke. They went by faster than her eyes could process only looking like a jumbled mess. Leaning back in his chair he leaned back in his chair slamming down on the enter key.
"If we're lucky this will work." He muttered
"And do what exactly?" Julia whispered as the code faded
"Give it a second," Edward whispered
A second later a map of the city was on the monitor. It showed a trio of bright lights forming a triangle around the city. Among the lights a sickly orange blip flickered in and out of sight, Glaring at the screen he grabbed his phone snapping a photo of the monitor.
"This just made our jobs a little easier." He said standing
"Let me if I understand you can just sense them?" Isaac asked
"More of like we can smell them."Beelzemon corrected
The digidestined glanced up at the Digimon. After everything he'd seen he had to believe the demon. Beside him, Strabimon had turned. The wolf Digimon stood eyes locked on a large window. Through the window, he had locked eyes with a Flamemon.
The fire Digimon stood curious watching them. Without a word, it pointed to a metal door. Turning it walked further into the building. Glancing at his partner Starbimon spoke in a serious voice.
"He's one of the ones we're looking for." He said
Rushing through the metal door the group paused. They were met with a training facility. The room was small with a large mirror on the sidewall and pads on half the floor. The Flamemon stood on the padded side of the dojo. His flaming mohawk seemed to blaze as the light hit it.
"What do you jokers want?" He asked crossing his arms
"You got one of these?" Nathan asked holding up his digivice
"Yeah got one when Flamemon showed up what's it to you?" He asked holding up a red digivice
"It's kinda important you come with us," Isaac said politely
"Tell you what if you can beat me we'll go." The mohawked trained replied
"That's fair I'll fight you," Isaac said without thinking
Before he could process it a solid punch hit him. Stumbling back he barely blocked an oncoming kick. Getting balance Issac threw a punch hitting him hard in the face. In response, Issac was kneed in the side. Barely able to stand Issac threw up his arm in surrender.
"I give, you win." He grunted out
Turning to leave the brothers watched as he followed. As they made their way out he scooped up a backpack. He quietly followed them as they walk.
"Why are you following us?" Strabimon snapped glaring at him
"Names Lewis thought you wanted my help," Lewis yelled back
Isaac stopped mid-stride turning on his toe. Smiling he motioned Lewis closer with a wave. Picking up his pace he joined them. Giving him a weak nudge Issac smiled at him.
"You're just here for a good fight aren't you?" Isaac asked
"Perhaps," Lewis replied smirking
know how crazy you sound?"
"The legend is real I swear the whole Digital world believes it."
Edward Knight sighed turning back to the monitor. He couldn't comprehend what Julia had just told him. A myth of legendary warrior Digimon. She claimed they could digivolve without a partner. Slowly his eyes went wide and he spun.
"I think I get it." He yelled grinning
"Uhh, guy are you okay?" Tinkermon asked
"The Elemental warriors that once fought the D-Reaper," Edward announced
"My point exactly we just need to tap into your Digital history," Julia added
"Digital Rebirth," Edward whispered
Spinning back to his computer Edward typed like the wind. After several clicks, Quinn's watch beeped. Looking down she was met with the sight of a pale pink icon. Smirking Edward spun to her crossing his arms.
Pressing the button they watched as Tinker began to glow. In a flash of pink, the pixie revealed the form of Kazemon. The former Digidestined nearly fell from his chair at the sight of the wind elemental. Behind him, Julia smugly smiled knowing she was right.
"Wait if she's Kazemon does that mean?" He asked wide-eyed
"It does indeed Eddy," Julia said placing a hand on his shoulder
A quiet beeping rang through the air. Spinning Edward tapped a series of buttons. A blip appeared on the monitor. The blip had appeared on the far side of the city. The light glowed like a golden signal.
"You're a superhero?"
On the far side of town stood James looking up at his partner. Before he stood a Beatlemon. The lightning warrior glanced around them. Goblin Digimon had surrounded them. With a flex lightning cracked around the Beatle.
"Time to see what this new form can do," Beatlemon announced
Whirling the Beatle Digimon fired a ball of lightning. The ball sizzled before hitting its mark. The ball had hit a goblinmon roasting it. Beat lemon spun catching another one.
With a loud boom, the goblin was slammed to the ground. As James absorbed the goblin's data it vanished. Turning he found another Goblinmon stealing the code. It let out a slow breath before Digivolving. In a flicker of light, it became an Ogermon.
A wave rushed toward the oger. The force of the wave knocked it off guard. Using its bone club he forced itself up. A blade of water cut through the air slicing the monster. As it faded into code the glow of a digivice appeared.
"Thanks, those things caught us off guard," James said
Kelly only rolled her eyes at him. Clutch in her a digivice she gave a silent order. Nodding her Renamon sent another wave.
The fierce wave sent the Goblinmon sliding away. Turning Kelly sighed in annoyance. This was one of her "teammates" what a joke. There was no way she had the patience for him. Suddenly Beatlemon rushed over shielding her. A heavy bone club crashed into the beetle's back.
"I guess I should thank you," Kelly muttered
Lounging on a rooftop Beezlemon aimed at the sky. His shotgun pointed to the clouds. His vision flickered to the beautiful world of angelic Digimon. As his image returned to the city he hissed in anger. Why did he keep seeing these visions? Spinning his gun he slammed it into his holster.
"Problems beezy?"
At the familiar voice, he rolled over. BanchoLilymon stood over him looking him over. A singleeye peeking out from under her hat. She wore a playful smile as she sat beside him. Nervous he inches away.
"It's nothing just daydreaming." He muttered
With a playful nudge, she rested against him. At her action, the demon blushed. Something didn't feel right chill running down his spine. With a jolt, he stood aiming his shotgun at her. She didn't flinch simply smirking.
"Astute As ever Beeelzemon." She whispered
With a pattern of code the fsiry crumbled away. In he place sat a Lilithmon. She pulled a fan from her sleeve fanning herself. She sat taking in the demon. He turned his gaze skyward.
"Lilithmon why are you here?" He snapped
"Is it wrong to check on an old friend Beezy?" She asked
He snarled finger resting on the trigger. All he needed was a reason to fire. Using her fan she pushed his gun aside. A ring of rose petals fell rained down on them. Lilithmon stepped back her smirk growing.
"Looks like your new girl is here." She muttered
BanchoLilymon swung over on its yo-yo. The rebellious flower Digimon flicked its thorn-covered yoyo. The weapon retained the demon before squeezing her right. With one final squeeze, she turned to code. Smirking the fairy put her arm over Beelzemon's shoulder.
"Good work partner." She said with a laugh
