After seeing his fellow retainer disappear in front of him, Odin had began to panic. He looks over the chalk lines to see where exactly the chalk had broken. Upon finding the spot, Odin's eyes widen in horror as his face pales. His shoe had changed one rune from summoning to banishing. All Odin knew was that he sent Niles to some realm somewhere that was dark and despairing. He further inspects the runes within the sigil to make sure that he didn't cause another break or if he did, what that break would change. Fortunately, but also unfortunately, for Odin, there was no other break. Knowing that he was over his head on this one, the dark mage swallows his pride and runs to where his lord was waiting. Since this was a high level emergency, Odin just throws the door open to where Leo was sitting.
"MILORD! WE HAVE A SITUATION!" Odin shouts as he bursts through. Leo immediately snaps his head up from his work hearing Odin's tone of voice and the lack of dramatics. It was never a good thing when Odin spoke normally.
"What's the situation Odin?" Leo asks as he rises from his seat.
"So you know how you allowed me to perform that summoning ritual? Well, it went wrong-" Odin answers, wincing a bit. It was then that Leo noticed that Niles was not with Odin.
"How precisely did it go wrong Odin?" Leo asks, looking at Odin sharply.
"Soooo my foot smudge and thusly broke one of the runes and Niles noticed but a moment too late. I performed the ritual and instead of summoning a powerful and dark ally, I uh accidentally banished Niles to a realm unknown. All I know is that wherever I accidentally sent Niles, it's not a pleasant one," Odin explains as he fidgets with his cape. Leo takes a moment to process what Odin told him and he then sighs in relief.
"Well, while this is a very serious situation, it is fixable I believe," Leo informs Odin.
"Wait really?"
"Yes. You simply banished Niles, correct?"
"Yes milord, I even double checked all the runes and everything before coming to report the situation. It's still there if you would like to double check."
"I will double check to make sure you didn't miss anything. But this is fixable as since you banished Niles, we can get him back assuming he is still alive. I don't believe we'll be able to summon him back since we don't know where he ended up, but if he's in another realm we have two options of where he could be."
"A realm with in the Deeprealms?"
"That or a realm through the Dragon Gate. Neither will be easy to figure out but it is doable."
"Right! I forgot about the Dragon Gate! What do you need me to do milord?"
"Go fetch Nyx and Corrin, and try to avoid running into Xander if you can help it. I'm going to go look over the runes to make sure you didn't miss anything," Leo instructs before leaving his study to go look over the runes. Odin then heads off to find Nyx and Corrin. Odin knew that Leo wanted Nyx as she is a powerful dark mage herself but wondered why Leo wanted Corrin. The blonde knew it wouldn't be because Corrin was Nyx's husband, but maybe because Corrin was leading the army, but Odin knew he would find out one way or the other soon enough. He finds Lord Corrin first.
"Lord Corrin! Might I have a word with you?" Odin calls out to the white haired prince. Corrin blinks and looks over hearing Odin.
"Ah! Odin, good afternoon! Is something wrong?" Corrin greets as he walks over. He also noticed the lack of dramatics which worried him.
"Aye. Lord Leo requests your help alongside Lady Nyx's help," Odin says. "I may have messed up severely. And speaking of Lady Nyx, where might she be?"
"Oh I know where she is, just come with me Odin," Corrin says as he starts leading Odin towards the library which was where he had been heading originally. "So what exactly happened Odin?"
"No offense milord, but it would be easier to explain once your wife joins us," Odin answers.
"Fair enough," Corrin says before pushing the doors open to the library. He steps into the library, Odin right behind him. "Nyx? Are you in here?"
"I'm right here Corrin," Nyx says, stepping out into the aisle. She arches an eyebrow upon seeing Odin. "And I see you have Odin with you.."
"Yes! I need your milady! Alongside Lord Corrin's help. Lord Leo sent me to fetch both of you," Odin explains. Nyx made a face upon being called 'milady'.
"I will never get over the fact that I am now technically a Lady of the Nohrian royal court..." Nyx comments, earning a chuckle from her husband. "But very well. Your tone and lack of dramatic words indicates that this is a dire situation and that you most definitely will need my help."
"Thank you so much Lady Nyx!" Odin says, bowing to the smaller dark mage. He didn't even care that he was called out on his dramatics, as he was far more concerned about Niles than his perceived imagine. The blonde then leads the two out of the library and to where the sigil and Leo were, explaining the situation that had gone down.
"Aaahh so you need my help in locating Niles after a major screw up on your end," Nyx says. "I should be able to assist in this manner by working together with Lord Leo," Nyx says.
"I appreciate being told what has happened but I'm not too sure how much use I'll be in this endeavor," Corrin says, frowning a bit.
"Well, you have a certain air about you that connects you to others really well, so I imagine that you'll be helping in the sense of being a focus booster," Nyx answers.
"That would make sense-" Corrin says, nodding his head to the side.
"Oooooh, never thought of it that way! Truly a genius in the dark arts!" Odin says.
"I'm only accepting the praise since it's true," Nyx says as she and the other two arrive to where Leo was carefully inspecting the sigil drawn across the floor. Leo looks over hearing the voices.
"Good. You're all here. I assume Odin has explained the situation?" Leo asks.
"That would be correct. So what do propose we do from here to fix this?" Corrin responds, looking at his younger brother.
"Well, fortunately for us, Odin did not miss any mistakes when he looked over after sending Niles away. So no further corrections or additional steps need to be made to locate Niles," Leo explains. "And this is where you are need Nyx. Niles is either in a Deeprealm or in a realm accessible only by the Dragon Gate. Both are infinite in possibilities, and the more magic we have on hand for this, the better. I would also like to see how you think the best way to search for Niles would be."
"I see. I assume Corrin here is to be a focal point of energy?" Nyx asks.
"Most likely yes. As well as myself and Odin," Leo answers.
"Hmmm... I can think of two possible ways, both requiring Odin to feed energy and for him and Corrin to act as a focal point," Nyx starts. "The first would be you, Odin and Corrin acting as a large and powerful focal point, while you and Odin pour your energy into me. This option would be the most precise but would take longer since it's one person searching. The second ritual would just have Corrin and Odin as the focal point while Odin splits his energy between us. One of us would search the Deeprealms while the other searched the Dragon Gate. This method would be quicker but not nearly as precise."
"Since I am just to be a focal point here, I think the stronger focal point would be better overall," Corrin chimes in.
"I am inclined to agree with you. As much as I would like to get Niles back quickly, I would rather only have to make one trip to grab him and have that trip be as quick as it could be," Leo says.
"I am fine with that ritual as well Milord! Shall I fetch Lady Elise to help keep us refreshed with her healing magic?" Odin asks.
"Yes. And get Jakob as well, that way Elise doesn't wear herself out," Corrin answers. "Besides, I'm sure Jakob is bound to find us out eventually."
"He does have a knack for keeping an insanely close eye on you," Nyx comments. "...And me now that I'm your wife."
"Eheheheh... I wasn't expecting that to be honest... If it gets too much, don't be afraid to tell him to tell him to knock it off," Corrin says.
"I will go fetch Lady Elise and Jakob!" Odin announces before heading off to find the two to bring them into the situation. Leo then looks at Nyx.
"Well, let's get what you need and if we don't have it, we can send Jakob or Felicia to go get the supplies," Leo says.
"Splendid. Time to get down to business to bring back Niles. As much as I don't like him," Nyx says as she starts walking off to see if the needed materials were available, Corrin following while Leo stayed behind to watch over the sigil.
