Chapter 19: Riders on the Storm
Review Replies
Romance Breeding: It's really nice to see this story updated again. It's been a while. Shame that we got so little "action" at the beginning. Oh well. Looking forward to the next chapter. Still feel like Ebony should be "ganged-up" by V and the girls. For "punishment" for being so naughty.
V takes her from behind and lifts her up. All while the girls use her like their plaything. V uses the modes on his member to heat up and pierce her womb. Raiko uses her electricity in her private life. Momo uses her powers to make her womb super fertile. And Meredith films them(especially Ebony's super ahegao face). They go crazy on her petite body, until her mind breaks. And she begs V to breed her for the rest of her life! Jean kisses her and tells Ebony that she will make an excellent brood mother. And maybe a couple more sexual encouragements from the others.
Dragon Emperor0: Well that's certainly kinky.
ThermalsniperN7: True…
Chadbunger: When will the bad guys learn that cloning never works?! The clone either becomes unstable, goes rogue or joins the Turtles. Oh well either way I can't wait for the shredder's plan to backfire
Dragon Emperor0: Your guess is as good as ours.
ThermalsniperN7: Yeah. Some people like Shredder are just delusional.
Romance Breeding: Or maybe they will do that to Panam when it's finally her turn? Could be hot. ;)
ThermalsniperN7: If V doesn't claim her while they're testing out that Basilisk first, that is.
Dragon Emperor0: That scene takes car Sex to a whole new level.
Idea Guy: I would love to see you do a Cyberpunk 2077 x Dying Light crossover story! It would be interesting to see how V would survive Night City during the zombie apocalypse. All of those cybernetics would be handy with dealing with the undead hordes. Not to mention, doing whatever he can for himself and his group to survive. And of course, when a base or settlement is established, they can start repopulating. ;) You can also add a little of Highschool of the Dead and Resident Evil series into the story. HOTD has gorgeous women, but Resident Evil has both awesome women and intense B.O.W.s for V to face. And imagine cyborg zombies running around with the Night Hunters and Volatiles! It should make things exciting and scary at once. Plus, Dying Light 2 is almost here and there will be plenty of material there for a story like this idea. I really hope that you at least strongly consider this idea, please
ThermalsniperN7: The idea of a Cyberpunk zombie apocalypse is already fascinating on its own. Mixing it with the ladies from various series just makes it better. Same goes for cyborg zombies, too.
Dragon Emperor0: Definitely interesting.
-Port Iris, Night City.-
At the docks of Night City, the Roosevelt slowly started to way anchor in the port, and then the ramp lowered, allowing a congregation of sailors to start leaving the vessel behind after its six month voyage was up. Among the sailors were V and Jackie, who were happy to be back on land.
"Ah, back home again! Good to be back, eh mano?" Jackie exclaimed as he breathed in the city air.
"Yeah it is. Especially since I have several wives to get back to. I just hope I got back in time for the kids to be born." The Nomad nodded as he thought about his wives. He kept in touch with them, sure, but when the final month of his tour came around, they went quiet in the middle of it. V hoped it wasn't due to them going into labor.
"Well, you better get to stepping mano, cuz when nothing will stop those babies when they want to come out." The Street Kid told his friend.
"Assuming they aren't already out, but I get the point." V nodded as they went to the parking lot and Junior rolled up to the two of them. "Say hi to Misty for me, would ya?" He said as he opened the driver's door.
"Gotcha, V. Do the same for me when you see your harem." Jackie nodded as his Arch rolled up remotely to him, allowing him to get on. V got into his living car and then proceeded to drive home.
"Welcome back, V. Was the tour a good one?" The AI asked.
"It was uneventful, which is good." V replied with a nod as they drove through the streets of the city. "How have things been while I was gone? The girls stopped calling in halfway through my final month of my tour." He asked.
"That was because Ms. Alvarez and Parker stopped by and they… kept each other occupied." Junior replied. "And in doing so, Raiko accidentally shorted out the house." He continued. "They've been getting it fixed since then."
"Oh. That explains it. I thought they'd gone into labor before I got back and were busy recovering." V sighed. "What's the estimated time it'll take to fix the house up?" He asked.
"It should be finished in two weeks' time, according to what I've heard." Junior replied. "In the meantime, everyone is staying at an upper class apartment that Meredith managed to rent out until repairs were finished." He added.
"Take us there." V said as he let Junior control the car.
"Of course." He replied as he steered the car to its destination.
(Later)
After a fairly long drive to the Corporate section of Night City, Junior parked V in the garage of the apartment building where the girls were staying in.
"Stay outta trouble, OK Junior?" The Nomad questioned as he got out of his car.
"Of course." The AI chuckled as he went to a nearby parking space. V then went inside the building and followed the waypoint in his vision to where his ladies were staying. As he got in the elevator, he decided to call up Judy and he didn't have to wait long for her to pick up.
"Hey, V. Back from your six months of seeing blue constantly?" She asked with a smile as her image appeared in his vision.
"I don't need to be reminded of that." Johnny groaned as he appeared.
"Yep. Are you with the girls?" The Nomad asked, ignoring the engram's groans.
"Yeah. Ivory is the only one awake. The rest of them are sleeping right now." The Mox girl nodded. "The kids are eager to see you walk through the door." She added, recalling how eager Teddy was when he realized that V would be back soon.
"Yeah, how are Teddy and Calypso? Are they okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, they're fine. They've been settling in just fine." She nodded. "They're taking a nap right now." She added as V stepped out of the elevator.
"I'll be there shortly. I just got off the elevator. See you in a few seconds." V said as he hung up and walked down the hallway before he reached his temporary apartment and knocked on it. Judy opened it and pulled him in before closing the door behind him and gave him one big kiss on the lips.
"Welcome home, soldier boy." She purred into his ear as she hugged him.
"Good to be back." V smiled as he held the mox woman close before spotting Ivory on the couch, just chilling while she sported a giant belly with their child, looking ready to give birth any day now. He walked up to the couch and sat next to her, getting her attention and prompting her to hug him happily.
"We all missed you." The bone shark woman told him.
"Me too, Ive, me too." The man said. "How much longer do you guys have?" He asked.
"Our due dates are a few days away, though it feels like it could be sooner. Hard to tell since we're sharks, primarily." Ivory replied as she released him.
"Good. I got back in time to welcome my kids into the world." V nodded with a smile, eager to be present for when his kids arrived in his life.
It was then that Raiko suddenly entered the room and spotted V. "Oh good. You're back. I'd kiss you, but my water just broke." She said through heavy pants, startling them.
"Wha– Oh jeez!" V groaned as he dialed the Trauma Team. "This is Petty Officer Victor Verne, I need a team at my location now! One of my wives just went into labor!" He told them immediately upon being answered.
"Affirmative. Identity confirmed. Trauma Team is en route now. ETA: ninety seconds." The receptionist replied.
"Definitely not the welcome home party one would expect." Johnny commented in surprise.
"Hey, at least it isn't a miscarriage." The man said.
(Later)
In the local hospital, Raiko was currently in labor with the other girls present–but after the first couple contractions, one after the other, everyone's waters broke. Now, the whole harem–save Evelyn and Judy–were in labor.
Meredith in particular went into labor at work, so it was fairly embarrassing for her, unfortunately. Thankfully, one of her coworkers was kind enough to rush her here, so she was spared most of it. Right now, V was looking particularly concerned as he waited for the doctors to come get him and let him see his wives, pet and children.
"Fuck, V, first you think you're in for an easy day back home, now this happens. Talk about not letting up." Johnny said as he leaned against a wall.
"Oh, tell me about it. It's starting to feel like easy days are becoming scarce at the rate my life is going." V groaned in agreement, knowing that he's gonna have several kids to take care of and they would more than likely give him gray hairs before long. Then there was the Voodoo Boys… Yeah, his shore leave was not gonna be kind to him this time, by the look of it.
A couple hours of waiting later, the doctor finally came to get him. "Mr. Verne, they're ready to see you now." The doctor told him.
"Thanks." The man nodded as he went inside and was greeted by the sight of his harem holding small bundles in their arms with tired but happy smiles on their faces. Ebony in particular had two bundles in her arms.
"Hoo boy, naming all these little bundles of joy is gonna be a chore…" Judy said as Teddy and Calypso both took turns holding their new siblings.
"Yes, but knowing who's who should be a simple affair." Evelyn nodded as she looked at Jean's child, who appeared to be the only son of the bunch. He looked like a shark boy, much like how his mom was a shark gal, but the difference with him was that his skin seemed to be like that of a tiger's fur, meaning that he had black stripes and orange skin with a white underbelly. V came over and looked at her before he smiled.
"I think I'll name my little boy Tony." He said, causing his son to look at him before he smiled and reached out for him with his cute little hands. The man smiled as he took his newborn son into his arms, smiling as the feeling of becoming a father really started to set in.
"That sounds perfect." Jean smiled.
"Fuck, V. If you name him Tony, then he's gonna become a playboy when he's older." Johnny commented as he looked at the little tiger boy. "... Though he does look really damn cute, not gonna lie." He admitted.
"I think I know what to name my little girl." Meredith said as she looked at the blonde baby in her arms. "I think I'll name her Cassandra, a perfect name for a Militech kid." She smiled.
"I'll name my little sweetie after my grandmother, Kaguya." Momo smiled as she held the mini Otsutsuki girl in her arms. This little girl had her father's hair and two little horns, with a human skin tone as well.
"I've decided to name my babies Natasha and Amalie." Ebony said, tickling her little girls, who had red and purple hair and hourglass birthmarks on their necks.
"After Black Widow and Widowmaker?" Evelyn asked.
"The very same." The petite Shadow Bull woman nodded, though petite was probably no longer applicable to her since she now had a C-cup bust due to them swelling with milk.
"I've decided to name my baby Pearl." Ivory said, her child seemingly like a tiny pearl in her bundle, her only features not an oral white were her pink eyes and moss green hair.
"I'm naming my little atomic pup Garnet." Kujira smiled as she held her daughter in her arms. She had jet black skin similar to her mother, and she also had her own atomic mutations. The only difference was that she glowed a vibrant orange, almost like Thermonuclear Godzilla, but without the meltdown risks.
"And I've decided to name mine Sapphire." Raiko added as she held a baby with bioelectric growths on her–one even dangling down her face like an angler fish, in her arms. The baby had kelp green hair and red eyes.
"All of them look so cute." Judy commented with a smile as she looked at all of the babies.
"I'm just glad it's over." V sighed as he sat down, the whole experience draining him. Luckily though, his two older kids were quick to hug him. "Thanks kids." He smiled as he hugged them back.
(The next day)
V woke up again in the apartment Meredith got for them after bringing Evelyn, Judy, Teddy and Essie back so the girls and babies could rest at the hospital. And as soon as he sat up, he saw that his two latest lovers were fast asleep.
Deciding to let them sleep in, he got out of bed and kissed them before going to do the same to the kids. However, as he got dressed, he got a call from Panam.
"Hey, Panam. What's up?" He asked when her image appeared in his vision.
"V, thank god you picked up, I really need your help." She told him.
"Whoa, easy. What's going on?" The man asked his fellow Nomad.
"It's Saul. He's been captured by a scav gang in the Badlands!" She exclaimed, clearly distressed. This news shocked V greatly.
"What?! When the hell did this happen?!" He questioned in alarm as he finished getting dressed.
"I don't even have time to explain why I don't have time to explain. Just get over here as soon as you can!" Panam stated. V growled as he quickly left a note for Evelyn and Judy before he left.
"On my way!" He hissed as he hung up and stormed out of the apartment. His destination: The Aldecaldo encampment.
(Later)
Junior came to a halt in the Aldecaldo Nomad camp in the Badlands outside of the city, and V quickly stepped out before marching up to Panam. Saul being captured triggered an old instinct that V never got rid of, that instinct being to give the ones who dared to capture a fellow Nomad absolute hell. It was his way of saying that he cared about his kinsmen.
He literally just got back a day ago, and he figured that the Voodoo Boys could afford to wait a little longer. His fellow Nomads were first on his list to take care of.
"I'm here, Panam. Tell me how he got captured." V ordered firmly, getting straight to the point. The Nomad woman was quick to explain.
"The brickbrain went out without any backup. We know it was the Raiths because their chatter said they had someone important." The woman told him. "I don't know why, but I thought I could count on you." She added.
"I belonged to a Nomad family too once, trust me, Navy life and City life doesn't change us that much." The man told her.
"Thanks, V." Panam sighed in relief before she turned serious. "I know where they're holed up. There's a sandstorm coming, so we can use that as cover to get in and out undetected if we go now." She stated.
"Any way we can get recon done before then?" The man questioned as they walked towards a section of the camp.
"Mitch is doing that right now." The woman nodded as they stopped at a car surrounded by other Aldecaldos. "Though to be quick, it'll have to be the two of us." She added.
"Wait– Just us?" V asked in surprise.
"Don't worry. I'll cover you." Panam told him.
"But what about all you guys?" V questioned.
"Look around! The last attacks left barely half of us standing! Our supplies are stuck outside damn Reno, and the gear– don't get me started!" Another Nomad, Carol, ranted.
"We're up shit creek without a paddle, static. And I don't know if we'll ever find or fashion ourselves a paddle, try as we might." A Nomad man named Cassidy sighed.
"So your leader gets nabbed and you do what? Hope for the best?" V questioned, not even remotely pleased with what he's hearing. "Rather not think about what you do for the ones at the bottom of your food chain." He added with a scowl.
"You're asking for trouble." Carol said in irritation.
"Yeah, well where I'm from in the navy, ya don't leave a man stranded. Especially not your captain." The merc responded
"Damn right." Panam nodded in agreement. It was at this point that Mitch finally got around.
"Got a drone flying over the Wraith's hideout, the cameras here, unless you wanna keep mouthing off." Mitch told them.
"Give it here. I wanna see what wasp nest I'm walking into." V said, prompting the man to give him a shard linked to the drone. The navy man placed it in his neuroport and then began seeing through the drone's camera as it flew over the Wraith camp.
Through the camera, the Nomad could see the camp that the wraiths set up. It was inside an abandoned cement plant which they put some primitive defenses around.
"Looks like that Tai-Kong port dugout that the Roosevelt blew up during my last tour. Bastards probably mean to stay longer with those defenses up." The man noted.
"That's what we think, too." Panam nodded in agreement. "I'm seeing some tracks from a van, one that might've been carrying either heavy equipment or Saul." She noted, spotting some tire tracks in the dirt.
"If I had to hazard a guess, they're probably keeping him in the main building, so if we wanna get Saul out without getting a cap in our asses, we should probably cut the power of the skywatch." The Nomad stated.
"Good idea, and if they haven't gutted the place yet, then the cam net should still be intact." Panam nodded. "You just need to find the control room." She added.
"Right, and if push comes to shove, I think I have something that'll help us shove hard." The petty officer nodded as he called Junior over. "Alright, Junior, pop the trunk and get me Megalodon-L Mark-1." He told the car.
"I pity the fools who earned your ire." The AI remarked as he opened his trunk, and the Aldecaldos around V dropped their jaws when they saw what was inside. It was a dive suit, and it had a menacing shark themed design. The mask in particular had the appearance of a shark's head and looked like it was designed for multiple environments, and there were a few weapons that looked made for being used with the whole set. Said weapons consisted of a wrist mounted missile launcher for the right gauntlet in between two wrist blades and the left gauntlet had a wrist mounted control pad in between the wrist blades. There was also a revolver with shotgun shells.
It kind of reminded them of the Akhelios Warframe from the old video game of the same name.
"Holy shit! Now that's a serious kit!" Cassidy exclaimed with wide eyes.
"Damn, what kind of Corp did you sign up with that got you this stuff?!" Panam exclaimed in amazement as she looked over the whole kit in admiration.
"None. This is an original custom job done by me." V smirked as he took the gear out of the trunk, shocking his fellow Nomads even further as he went into a tent and sealed it so he could get into his suit uninterrupted.
(Later)
"Here, it's a suped up Rivec pump, a Rhino dose. If you find Saul before he flatlines, this should give his central pump a jolt." Mitch said, tossing V said device.
"Got it." The ex Bakker nodded, fully suited up and ready to kill if need be.
"Come on, V! Let's get moving!" Panam called from a van.
"On my way!" V called back before turning to Mitch. "Saul will be back here before you know it." He told him assuringly before he jogged over to the van and got in the driver seat. The two Nomads then drove off for the Wraith's hideout with Panam stealing glances at V's shark themed dive suit along the way.
"I know this probably isn't the best time, but when did you start making this suit?" The woman asked, unable to contain her curiosity any longer.
"The last time I was on leave, I got one of my wives to get me the necessary materials and then I started tinkering with it." He replied. "I'm pretty pleased with the results." He added.
"Oh. Hey, how are they, anyway?" Panam asked.
"They literally gave birth yesterday right as I got back. Definitely not what I expected." The man replied with a sigh, still reeling a bit from that. Panam blinked at that.
"I can see why you didn't expect it." She confessed. One doesn't simply get back from tour and expect their wives to go into labor, let alone on the same day they get back. "... Can I swing by and see them sometime?" She asked after a beat passed, an excited look in her eyes.
"When they get back to the house, sure." He nodded. The two continued to sit in silence before V turned on the radio, which started to play "Riders on the Storm" by the Doors. 'Heh, now isn't that ironic?' V thought in amusement. Here he was, trying to rescue one of his fellow Nomads before a sandstorm, and a song about that brand of weather was playing on the radio. Funny how life worked.
After a couple of minutes, they were getting close to the abandoned cement plant. Panam had V park them by a rock formation so they wouldn't be spotted.
"Okay, you head into the base, and I'll cover you as you go in." The woman said as she got her personal sniper rifle ready.
"I spotted a gate off to the side. I'll head in through there." V nodded as he checked his revolver in case he had to go loud. He didn't think he'd need it, but you never know when you might.
"Right. Good luck." Panam nodded as the duo hopped out of the van. The Nomad woman took up a perch by the rocks while V took off in a mad sprint toward the side of the facility.
And to add to the distraction, he had the car speakers blast as he made the song repeat, which made the Wraiths look around in confusion.
"Riders on the Storm. Riders on the Storm. Into this house we're born. Into this world we're thrown."
After a bit of running, V managed to reach the side of the building and scale the wall before dropping down on top of one of the goons, killing him with his Mantis Blades, before spinning around and slicing apart two more–and grabbing a third two hurl into a wall, causing his face to splatter.
"Like a dog without a bone and an actor on a lone. Riders on the Storm."
The soldier swiftly made his way into the building, making sure to stay out of sight and took out his opposition wherever the opportunity presented itself, making sure to hide the bodies as he he went, he managed to find his way to the control room and killed a Wraith before hiding his body in a bin.
"Sorry man, nobody's gonna fuckin find that body." V said as he jacked into the cams. He swapped through them and found a camera in the basement, and conveniently, that was where Saul was being held. "Panam, I found Saul. He's in the basement of the adjacent building!" He reported.
"Is he alive?" She asked.
"Yeah. I can see him moving. I'm going for him." He said as he disconnected from the cameras. He then went to the main building and kicked the door in, splattering a Wraith to the wall due to the force of his kick.
"There's a killer on the road. His brain is squirming like a toad. Take a long holiday, let your children play. If you give this man a ride, the sweet family will die. Killer on the road."
Several other Wraith thugs jumped in surprise at the sudden noise and V capitalized on that by firing a wrist missile at a cluster of his enemies that happened to be near a fuel can, blowing them to bloody chunks and disorienting the rest further. He quickly dashed at another and stabbed his wrist blades into her chest before tossing her aside and whipped out his revolver to shoot the shotgun shells inside it at three others, sending them flying back before they landed on the ground, dead.
One last thug remained, and V stalked towards him menacingly as he whimpered in fear of the shark-like monster in front of him. It was simply too much. Without any hesitation, he took out his pistol and shot himself in the head.
"Tch. Wimp." V scoffed before he made his way to the basement. Once he got the door open, he spotted Saul and made a beeline for him. "Hey, Saul. You in there, man?" He questioned as he gave the Aldecaldo leader a shake on the shoulder.
"Ngh. What the…?" He groaned as weakly as he looked up at V's masked face, not recognizing him right away. "Who the hell are you?" He asked, struggling to keep his head up.
"It's me, V. Hang on, this'll get you up and about." V replied as he took the Rivec pump out and injected it into Saul's arm. After a few moments, he let out a groan before...
"Ooooh yeah, that did it!" Saul yelled as he shot up. "... What're you doing here, anyway?" He questioned.
"Panam got me to come here. I'm still kinda in Navy mode, so I wasn't about to just leave you to die like this." V replied as the two made their way out of the building the way the Navy man came in. "And in the Navy, we don't leave a man stranded. Especially not our captain." He added firmly.
"Heh. Sounds like something Nomads would go for in a heartbeat." Saul chuckled as they left the building, but when they got outside, the sandstorm had started, much to the irritation of the two men. Though they were a bit relieved when Panam drove up to them.
"Girl, ya gotta love your man. Girl, you gotta love your man. Take him by the hand, make him understand. The world of you depends, our life will never end. Gotta love your man."
"Get in, now!" She barked at them. They wasted no time and got into the back of the van and closed the doors.
"Punch it!" V exclaimed, and the mocha skinned woman did exactly that and drove away from the Wraith den as fast as she could.
"Riders on the Storm. Riders on the Storm. Riders on the Storm. Riders on the Storm. Riders on the Stooooorm…" The song blurred as they drove away, before it slowly faded out, being replaced by the howling of the wind and the grating of sand against metal brought on by the storm.
"Fuck! We won't be able to make it back to the camp in this storm!" Panam cursed in frustration as she drove.
"Is there anywhere nearby that we can hunker down at?!" V shouted over the noise.
"There's an abandoned house nearby! That's our best bet!" The woman replied. "I'll take us there!" She added as she made a detour toward their temporary shelter.
After a bumpy ride, the Nomad trio arrived at the old house and hopped out of the van before rushing inside. They all took a moment to catch their breaths as they relaxed from the ordeal they had just gone through.
"Urg. Need to catch my breath." Saul groaned as he sat down, V meanwhile went to the bathroom to route the power for them, when Johnny made another appearance.
"Hey V, been meaning to ask ya something. Got a second?" The former rocker questioned as he leaned against the door frame.
"Yeah. What's up?" V responded as he worked.
"You mentioned getting in touch with Horizon Industries so that we can try and craft me a new body." He stated.
"Yeah, still do. Why?" The Nomad asked.
"Well, just figured that since we're on dry land again, why not try it out?" The engram questioned.
"Good idea, but I don't see any progress being made in the middle of a sandstorm, obviously." V shrugged.
"Well, yeah. No point trying in these conditions." Johnny nodded in agreement. "Just remember to try when we get back to the apartment." He added.
"Got it." The Navy man nodded as he finished his work on the power.
"Okay, we have power, but no heat. Guess we gotta do some extra work." Panam sighed.
"I'll head outside and have a look at the circuit breaker." V nodded before he went outside and to the back of the house before he found the circuit breaker before making a few adjustments and managed to get the heater running. With his task done, he went back inside to relax.
But when he got back, he saw Panam and Saul arguing yet again. This time over how Saul would have sold the Aldecaldos out to Biotechnica for protection against the Raffins.
This particular notion struck a particularly sensitive nerve in the man's head as he sat down next to Panam on the couch.
"V, will you please tell Saul that getting 'help' from biotechnica is a horrible idea?" The woman prompted.
"Gladly." V nodded as he took his mask off and gave Saul a glare. "What in the actual fuck is telling you that selling out your clan to a Corp like that is a good idea?! Do you even realize what you could damn the whole clan to if you went through with it?!" He questioned.
"What would you know about that?" Saul questioned.
"I don't know if Panam already told you, but I was part of the Bakkers before I left to join the Navy. But that isn't the entire story." He began. "I also left because the Bakkers were joining up with Snake Nation, a clan that had been bleeding us with war and bloodshed over supplies and turf for decades–my father and mother being two of the dozens of people that were killed in the whole thing." He explained. "And when the Bakkers decided to join Snake Nation, I felt betrayed. The people that I had viewed as family were joining my parents' killers. I decided it was time I went my own way after that. I didn't need to stick around to know what would happen." He continued.
"And I'm sorry for your loss, but what does that have to do with Biotechnica?" Saul questioned.
"Saul, Snake Nation was being paid by Biotechnica to get the Bakkers cornered and weakened so they could move in on their turf." The petty officer told him. That caused Saul and Panam to look at him with wide eyes.
"And I was about to…" The black haired man trailed off before cursing, feeling like an idiot. "Fuck! If that's the case, then they're probably trying to do the same with us, too!" He growled.
"And you were about to fly right into their net. Nice one, fearless leader." Panam scoffed.
"Don't start with me, Panam." Saul told her sternly before he sighed. "I need to get some rest. Today has been exhausting." He said before he chuckled a bit as something came to mind. "Ya know what they call sandstorms in South Africa? Haboobs. I fuckin' love that word." He added before he went to one of the bedrooms.
"What was that all about?" Panam questioned as she and V laid down on the couch together.
"No idea." The man shrugged as he set his mask on the coffee table before the woman decided to rest her feet in his lap.
"You know, I've never really been with a roof over my head for very long before. Being a Nomad means you're pretty much fused to your car seats, after all." Panam chuckled. "But it looks like I've done it twice with you." She added.
"Trust me, I know the feeling." V chuckled in agreement.
"Yeah. Although, this place sure would make a nice motel if it was in better shape. All we would need is a cranky guy behind the front desk and–oh wait." The Nomad woman noted with a chuckle.
V couldn't help but chuckle as he understood the jab at Saul. "Yeah… But right now, Hotel California intends to fulfill your needs." He said, deciding to enjoy the moment. Panam caught on to this and smirked.
"An old Eagles reference? Where do you get all this stuff?" She questioned, stifling a laugh.
"My grandpa and great grandfather, they always played old tapes and records at night when I was a kid." The man replied.
"You miss them often? Your family, I mean." Panam asked.
"I do. But… Ya know, it's funny, I don't even think I ever cried at any of their funerals." The man shrugged, rubbing Panam's thigh with his hand. "Guess I just got used to it after a while–death, I mean."
"That sounds kinda…. I don't even know how to describe that." Panam sighed as she held V's hand.
"Yeah, me neither." V said before his female companion grabbed him and pulled him into her chest, letting him listen to her heartbeat as they laid down on the couch.
"Well, I think I know another place where you can feel good." Panam smiled as she rested her head in the nape of his neck. As the two started to fall asleep, Johnny appeared again, sitting where Saul had been.
"On behalf of the Hotel California, I bid you a good night. Sweet dreams." He said before disappearing again.
(The next day)
V woke up with a groan before he noticed Panam was gone, likely outside. Taking a moment to get himself together, he proceeded to get up and pick up his mask before walking out the front door and saw that the sandstorm had passed and his fellow Nomad was sitting on the didn't bother putting his mask on since he wanted to feel the air on his face.
"Hey, V." The woman said from her spot on the porch.
"Hey." V nodded as he sat down next to her.
"So, you gonna be heading back to Night City after this?" She asked after a beat or two.
"Yeah. I've still got one giant harem of wives and some children that are waiting for me." The man nodded as he looked at the sunrise.
"The fact that you can casually say you have a harem kinda impresses me a little." The mocha skinned woman admitted with a small chuckle.
"You get used to it after a while." He shrugged. "Crazy thing is, they actually told me that if I found a couple more ladies to bring home, they'd be ready to get a bigger bed." He added with a chuckle.
"Oh jeez…" Panam snickered as Junior rolled up to them.
"Hello there, you two. I see you managed to wait out the sandstorm." He said upon stopping.
"Hey Junior, listen, mind waiting a minute? Need to finish talking about something with Panam." The Nomad told his ride.
"Ah, my apologies." Junior replied before moving a bit further away and parked next to the van.
The two then got up and started walking over to Panam's bike. "Hey, about back there with Saul, thanks for sticking up for me like that–it really means a lot." The woman told him.
"You're welcome." V nodded with a smile. "Besides, I had to make sure he didn't make the same mistake the Bakkers made." He added.
"And I'm glad you did. I don't even want to think about that pile of shit we just narrowly dodged." The woman sighed, feeling more than a little relieved that her clan had evaded that nasty bullet.
"That I think we're agreed on." The man nodded as Panam got on her bike.
"Here's your compensation, keep it safe for me, alright?" She said as she handed him her sniper rifle.
"Will do." V nodded as he accepted the weapon. As he looked it over, he let out a whistle. "Damn, this thing is gorgeous. You could nail five lined up targets with this thing. What's its name?" He asked.
"It's called Overwatch, and yeah, it is a gorgeous gun." Panam chuckled in reply.
"Yeah, I am definitely keeping it safe. Maybe I'll give it some upgrades, too." The man mused as ideas entered his mind while he looked at the masterpiece of a sniper rifle in his hands.
"Have fun with that. I'll be in touch." Panam said as she got on her ride. "Oh, and before I forget." She added before she leaned forward and kissed V quickly before pulling back.
She then drove off, Saul following behind her in the van. V breathed as he went over to Junior and put Overwatch in the trunk before he got in the driver's seat.
"Alright, Junior. Let's go home. I think I've had enough adrenaline rushes for a while." He said as he relaxed in the seat.
"Right away." The young AI replied before he began driving both of them back to the apartment.
Dragon Emperor0: And now V's back, the babies are born, and Panam is primed to join the harem soon.
ThermalsniperN7: We WERE gonna get the Voodoo Boys job started this chapter, but then it just kinda detoured to this. Not that it's a bad thing, given what happened here.
Dragon Emperor0: Though that does leave an interesting concept for the Basilisk sex scene from in game. Should that be the romp that gets Panam pregnant?
ThermalsniperN7: Or should they get orgasm denial by the attack on the Aldecaldo camp and take their anger out on the assailants? If it's the latter of the two, then Panam is gonna march right into V's apartment to finish what they started.
Dragon Emperor0: Or house, depending on if the repairs are done. And don't worry, we'll also be doing the Judy romance storyline. That'll just come later. After the Voodoo Boys main job is done. Then we'll be doing mostly side jobs until Takemura appears again.
ThermalsniperN7: And let's not forget V getting in touch with Horizon Industries to get Johnny a new body. Anyway, see you next time.
