Alec's list of worries kept piling up. He needed to take down the White Skull Syndicate and the mysterious League they formerly or still work for. He needed to stop the Redburst Drug Trade that was growing in his town. He needed to find the Older Vigilante who had been watching over Castle Grove City before Alec became Red X. Now he also had to worry about a Detective who was on his and the Older Vigilante's trail. No, there was an order of things that these tasks came in. First find the Vigilante. Learn the ropes from him about patrolling the streets and then take down the White Skull Syndicate. The League may hide themselves or reveal themselves after the White Skull Syndicate is taken down, but the drug trades will definitely stop.

"I should find out what the two reporters know," Alec decided. He decided to follow the reporter who liked the Beheader, the reporter with dreadlocks. The man must have been 6'7, because he toward over Alec. He smiled at Alec as Alec approached him.

"Here to give some info about Sideslash?", the reporter wondered.

"No sir," Alec replied and he saw the man's smile slightly fade. "I'm actually wanting to learn about him."

"Oh," the man responded as he looked down on Alec.

"I was wondering how often do you find these crime scenes. With people's heads cut off."

The man thought for a moment and then nodded. "Not as often as Nightly Towers has you believing. Sideslash mainly uses chains when fighting. Sometimes he uses the bottom of his hilt to knock out his opponent, yet he also takes the heads of those who do unforgivable crimes. For instance, there was a Serial Killer in our city back in the eighties. My father was the reporter on scene at the time, gave the Serial Killer the name Wellman because he would use drowning as his method of killing. His targets were children between the ages of eight and ten. He murdered about sixty kids before Sideslash got a hold of him and well... took off his head."

"Woah," was all Alec could respond with.

"Yeah," the man chuckled. "Pretty fucked up right. My father named him Sideslash in the newspapers afterwords. Well, the streets started cleaning up after the man in the red hood showed up and started taking the heads of Serial Murderers, rapists, and pedos. He even ran gangs out of the city by destroying their supplies and tying them up in chains. That man made things better."

"Then how have things gotten worse," Alec growled under his breath. "Why is the city being overrun by drug traders and gangs."

"To that, I am trying to figure out as well," the reporter explained. "Sideslash had been making rare appearances lately. He targets mainly those he deems evil, cuts off their heads, and ignores petty thieves, drug dealers, and gang shootings."

"Maybe it's an imposter," Alec figured.

"I can't publish a story off of maybe kid," the tall reporter chuckled. "I need solid info with sources and proof before I do anything that might tarnish the name of Sideslash and my father."

"Any way I can help?", Alec asked. This was his best opportunity of tracking down the Vigilante, by sticking with the writer."

The tall black man stared at him and then laughed. "You remind me of when I was a kid. So daring and full of adventure. Not to mention you don't mind doing a little hard work every now and then. That's a rare breed."

Alec stared at the man confused for a moment and then the man grinned at him.

"I'll take you up as an unpaid intern and see where we can go from there," the tall man decided. "Give you a little something for your resume at the very least." He took out a small video camera from his pocket and a notepad and pen and tossed it to Alec. Meet me at Bishop Auto Industries at three PM sharp. Don't be late."

"Can I get your name?", Alec wondered.

"How silly of me," the tall man facepalmed. "I'm Zack Devoid," the tall man introduced himself.

"I'm Alec Bridgeend," Alec responded to him and the tall man headed off with his camera crew. The blonde man from Nightly Tower had already left some time ago, so Alec couldn't ask him for information. He supposed it was for the best. Afterall, if he starts talking to the competitor of King and Queen News Mr. Devoid would probably not take him as an intern. "Alright then," Alec begun to think to himself. "I found someone who spent his life following Sideslash. Once he leads me to the vigilante I can get this partnership rolling. Then we can go after the Redburst sellers. Then I can find that bastard with silver hair and his sidekicks."

"Things are coming together," Alec smiled to himself.
