The Reagan women's night out becomes different than the night they became page six headlines. Abigail Baker is a NYPD detective who currently serves the primary aide to the commissioner. As such, she is also a member of the Police Commissioner's squad. Baker is responsible for preparing and accessing Frank Reagan's official schedule. As such, Baker acts as the final barrier between anyone who wishes to speak or meet with the commissioner as nobody gets to do either without her approval. Baker also assists Frank in the transmission of his communications, that comes directly from his office. Her loyalty to Frank, as well as her hard work and dedication to the NYPD, has earned her a place within Frank's advisory inner circle.
Abigail Baker's personality can best be described as very official and professional. She almost always fulfills her duty with great discipline and respect. However, she is known to sometimes speak her mind about an issue randomly and isn't afraid to speak up when it is about something she cares about. Baker has respect for her fellow co - workers and always does her best to perform what she is asked to do.
When it comes to relationships Abigail is married to Brian Baker and has two children with him. While she admits she is happy with him , she mentions that from time to time, her guard is up even when it comes to Brian. Nevertheless, she loves him still. Other than that, Baker has other friendships, especially one the job and Frank Reagan.
Being the Commissioner's personal aide, she is very close to him. Frank has been shown to care for Abigail just as much as he would his own daughter. Frank always holds her in high regard and sometimes brags about her achievements in front of others, such as that she holds the medal of valor.
In Season 8, Episode 10" Heavy is the Head" , Baker requests permission to transfer back to her old boss. Frank is greatly saddened by this and personally investigates the motives of Baker's old boss, who works as Captain at IAB. He discovers that the reason why that Baker was asked to return was because her old boss wanted a foot in One PP. Therefore he has a personal and professional reason to deny Baker's request. Frank has also been known to meet Baker for coral dinners. Currently Baker has been working for Frank for 15 years
The relationship between Frank and Abigail is more complex than Boss and Employee…. Therefore when it comes to Abigail's happiness or sadness Frank takes a personal interest . He took it upon himself to talk to Brian Baker as to why he is causing this grief to his family and to the department.

Saturday arrives and the Reagan Family gather at the cathedral as Father Quinn renews the marriage vows of Jack and Erin. The Catholic Church doesn't acknowledge civil divorce unless that marriage was annulled by the Catholic Church. So for all intent and purpose the original marriage vows are still in place but renewed
Father Quinn: before everyone retreats to Delmonico's to celebrate this reunion …. I would like to make a few comments…..
