Blue Bloods - 12-17 - Danny and Maria
Christmas has passed and Maria and Eddie are taking advantage of the after Christmas sales and stocking up on all the baby supplies that they both will need for their babies arrival. As they are shopping they run into Abigail who has taken a personal day
Eddie: Maria there is Abigail Baker….. did you ever wonder what it's like working for our Father in law
Maria: from what Danny has told me ….. she is very protective of the commissioner
Eddie: Do you think they ever had a thing for each other
Maria: She's married with two kids… Knowing our husbands can you even think The Commissioner would do that
Eddie: I know but …. She is still a very attractive woman
Abigail comes up to them
Abigail: I thought it was you two….. I almost didn't recognize you
Eddie: this extra weight has changed both of us
Abigail: you both look great though… I couldn't imagine carrying three…. Is your due date getting close
Maria: Eddie and I are seeing who is going to deliver first and of course Danny and Jamie are seeing who will have the bragging rights
Abigail: The Commissioner is in the lead on that point….. He is always talking about them…. Four grand babies
Eddie: He will be adding one more… Nikki surprised her mom and dad ….. she and Jimmy couldn't wait and they got married and she is now pregnant
Abigail: How did Frank take it….. he will now be a great grandfather
Maria: Grandpa Henry was beside himself…. He will be a great great grandfather… something he thought he would never see… The commissioner did his usual smile …. I think he missed not seeing his first granddaughter not get married….. he is very sentimental
Eddie: Abigail….. you have time for lunch…. We have to feed the babies …. And I need to feed my curiosity
Abigail looks with wonderment as to where this is headed : You promise you won't get me in trouble….. you two have a way of doing that
Maria: I don't think we are in any condition to do that
The Girls go to a nearby deli and resume their conversation
Abigail: both of you have gotten close….. usually beat cops and detectives are at odds ….. but the two of you have become sisters
Eddie: Maria's honeymoon brought us real close… She got me in this condition
Maria: like you didn't have anything to do with it… I told you not to keep watching Against All Odds video
Abigail: You'll have to explain that to me
Eddie: After Maria told me how she got Danny to propose… I knew I could learn somethings from her….. so she shared her honeymoon with me and Jamie reaped the benefits
Abigail: After Frank and I talked about how you and Jamie wanted to still ride together after you married ….. I would have thought he wouldn't have even considered you two being partners
Eddie: are you saying Frank Reagan confides in you about family matters… you must be pretty special to him
Abigail: I don't know how special I am , but he does ask my opinion when it comes to the job….. that's why I would never work with any but him… enough about me….. how did you get Danny to propose and marry you.
Maria: Everyone now knows I've been in love with Danny since high school…. When we became partners and he was still married to Linda was the worst period of my life since I knew I would never be his. Danny being a Reagan ….. once he commits it's for life…. The five years after Linda's death I saw how miserable he was becoming with his loneliness … especially when both Jack and Sean had left the house.
Eddie: This is the good part
Abigail: are you sure your not the detective
Maria: She has sex on the brain ….. that's why she has three on the way… anyway….. I thought to myself if I don't make a move he never would… so I seduced him … made him see what he was missing… Danny being Danny would only continue making love to me if I became his wife.
Eddie: tell her about your dream … you know when Linda showed you Danni
Abigail: Linda showed you Danni….. how can that be
Maria: after Danny and I made love ….. I was so happy but I also became very worried…. Linda was everything to Danny….. I didn't want to be the woman that made him feel that he cheated on her. Linda came to me in a dream and told me she was pleased that Danny could fall in love again….. she didn't want him to be lonely any longer. She then showed me Danni with her black hair and big blue eyes and told me she couldn't wait to meet her mommy and daddy. I told Danny about the dream and Danni appeared to him in a dream when we were returning from Cancun. Linda gave us her approval and now Danny can freely refer to Linda without any guilt.
Eddie: A lot was to be learned from Danny and Maria….. I'm still curious … your very protective our father in law… how did you handle his Friends with Benefits situations…. We were all surprised at a Sunday Dinner when that became the topic. When one works so closely with someone…. You can't help but fantasize… I did it with Jamie….. Maria certainly did it with Danny… Let's face it the Reagan men are many women fantasies.
Abigail: your trying to put me on a spot….. good interrogation technique….. I would be lying if I didn't imagine what all those women especially Kelly Davidson did to him.
Maria: Kelly Davidson….. News Reporter….. she did that POP special … she's his Friends with Benefits
Abigail: she's just one….. Frank has away of getting around
Eddie: So you have fantasized about him…. This should be good….. did you seduce him in the office… I always had a fantasy about our petrol car….. I wanted so much for Jamie to due me in the back seat like we were kids
Maria : I told you she has sex on the brain…. I'm surprised she hasn't been pregnant before this
Abigail: I'm married….. but being with Frank Reagan has crossed my mine on more than one occasion…. But then all the explanations he would give like he is to old….. I'm like his daughter… but he is still a man like no other… I've said to much… Your getting me in trouble that I can't handle at this time.
Eddie: This is just girl talk….. don't feel that we prying into personal matters… you're as much a Reagan Woman as we are… You've been with our Father in Law longer than we have
Abigail: Don't mind my words…. I'm just going through a difficult period right now
Maria: Is there anything we could be of help
Abigail: Actually this luncheon conversation was good for me….. but I will have to leave now… enjoy the Joe and Amy's Wedding this coming weekend
As Abigail bids farewell Eddie and Maria continue talking
Eddie: so how did you take that… our Father in law has another notch on his belt if he chooses
Maria: there is no notch to be had…. She is struggling with all or nothing….. I knew that feeling so well
Eddie: Are you saying she is in love with The Commissioner
Maria: it certainly looks that way to me… how is her marriage handling it is the real question
A flashback to the night that Nikki tells Erin and Jack of her surprise news
Nikki: Mom… Daddy… not to bring up the last time we were here… but we need to tell you this… Jimmy and I will be sleeping in the same room… because we are married and your pending grandchild likes it that way
Erin and Jack look at each other with astonishment
Erin: When did this happen….. why didn't you tell us…. How could you keep this away from us
Jack: Was this some kind of punishment to us for all the years we weren't a family
Nikki: Don't take it that way….. the last time we were here….. Jimmy listened to your words and when we got back to LA we both realized that our love for each other required a permanent commitment….. so we had a simple wedding at the court house….. I know it's against our Catholic Traditions but Jimmy is not Catholic and we no longer wanted to wait. Jimmy and I are very happy and now that we will have a baby … we are even more happy… please don't be disappointed….. this was right for us….. no pressure on either of us… we did what we wanted to do…. Please understand
Erin: When is this baby due
Jimmy: we just found out that Nikki is two months pregnant….. 7 months from now.
Nikki: We waited to tell both of you in person...since you decided to finally go after the DA's job that you always wanted , so I didn't want you to give up your dream for me again. Now that I'm going to be a mom , I'm understanding the sacrifices you made for me….. I told Jimmy that if I told you the news you would once again put your dreams aside and come to me and I didn't want that… you made me who I am…. I was raised as a Reagan Boyle, but now I'm a Hastings and Jimmy and I will raise our baby in the same traditions.
Jack: When did you grow up so fast ….. Jack and Erin both go and hug a kiss their daughter and new son in law
Erin: How will we tell Dad….. Nikki you now you were always Grandpa's favorite
Jack: He will respect her decision… as long as she is happy he will be happy
Erin: Nikki always was able to get him to do whatever she wanted….. but this is different
As the New Years Eve festivities approached Frank calls in Sid, Garrett and Abigail to go over all the security precautions
Frank: Sid have we taken the extra precautions especially with Cyber Security….. we don't want a repeat of what happened at Thanksgiving….. with all the crazies having their way because our system was compromised.
Sid: Sloane Thompson's recommendations have been implemented and everyone knows what they have to do if there is a glitch….. The new system appears to be working better than before
Abigail can't help but think when Sloane Thompson's name was mentioned… she was another Friends with Benefits of Frank Reagan… is she letting her fantasies run away from her reality… does she do what Maria did and let her feelings be known to him or push them further back into the recesses of her heart never to be mentioned
Garrett: Another year under our belts and we are still here… What will this new year bring
Sid: I just hope this new year brings some common sense back….. what we went through this past years can't be repeated… I don't know if cops can keep getting pounded and expect to still do their job
Frank: our job is to protect and serve the best way we can….. If Erin gets elected DA maybe that will be a start….. Sid can you make sure there are a few extra patrolmen at this Sunday's Mass… My grandson is getting married … I don't want anyone spoiling this for them because he is a Reagan
Sid: How many people
Frank: Just a Normal Sunday Mass ….. They are getting married at the end of Mass and the Sullivan's have arranged a reception at the Church hall….. Joe and Amy wanted to keep it very simple
Garrett: The Mayor's office must be cringing at the thought of more Reagans entering the mix
Frank: More Reagan's entering the mix… looks like I'm going to be a great Grandfather….. our Nikki went ahead and got married and she too is pregnant….. five new babies in the coming year...2022 is going to be one hell of year for the Reagans
Abigail: Congratulations….. that makes you a Great Grandfather ….. one more reason for not to say anything
Frank: Since you put it that way is my time up
Abigail: That was not my intention….. you're more of a man than those half your age... In Abigail's thoughts... Why did I say that
Garrett and Sid look to each other with : What did that mean?….. What is Abigail trying to say?
Frank: by the way since Joe has rushed everything the three of you along with your spouses are more than welcomed to come
Garrett: Is this an invitation to a Reagan Sunday Dinner
Frank: on a larger scale….. The Reagan's and the Sullivan's will be together
Sid: count us in
Sid and Garrett leave… Abigail stays
Frank: are you going to tell me what your going through ….. your struggling ….. do you need time off
Abigail: I find myself in a no win situation and I can't grasp what is right for me
Frank: Has Brian done anything else to upset you
Abigail: I can't blame Brian… I would be relieved if he finds the one that will make him happy….. I certainly haven't ….. the guilt of what we both are doing to our sons is heart breaking for me.
Frank: Are you saying your marriage isn't fixable
Abigail: How does one fix a marriage when the love has been allowed to disappear and the only thing left is blame… he blames me for not seeing him the way I see you...Abigail's thought's ...What am I doing... and I blame him for not being the man I could admire … we changed…. Sir….. I've said to much…. I can't burden you with my problems
Frank: Abby … I wish I could tell you what to do or make everything better for you
Abigail: I'll figure it out ….. thank you for letting me vent a little… I'll try to keep my personal life out of the office
Frank: Just remember, everything about you concerns me… If you find yourself lonely on Sunday, come to the wedding just to give yourself a break
Abigail looks back at him with that look that says… if you only knew how much I want to be in your arms to comfort me.
Sunday arrives and Father Quinn finishes the Mass with : The Mass has ended Peace be with you…. To the Reagans and to the Sullivan's please stay in your seats as we will perform the Marriage Ceremony of Joe and Amy
John Sullivan escorts his beautiful Amy down the aisle to be given to anxiously waiting waiting Joseph Hill Reagan

To the Sullivans and to you especially Paula Hill…. Your two children give us hope in that they could have easily done the simple thing and enjoyed the fruits of a relationship without the commitment. They chose to commit to each other to become one in the eyes of God and Man…. In this day and age the commitment to Matrimony is often overlooked….. Marriage is not easy and it takes a great deal of work to keep it going ….. knowing your two families ….. I'm sure that you have the right stuff to endure and enjoy what's ahead of you…. At the wedding reception Amy takes her new mother- in- law to meet her family while John and Frank have a little conversation of their own
John: Commissioner…. Did you know any of this was coming down… my Amy has been so tight lip about it… I understand that Joe only recently came out as a Reagan
Frank: It's Frank….. When Joe brought Amy to Sunday dinner….. we all suspected that she was special to him … then he took that undercover assignment and we lost track…..He is definitely my son's kid….. keeps things to himself
John: Everyone knows how your son was killed… It concerns me that Amy could become a widow
Frank: John….. we all took this job knowing the risks….. Joe did some growing up after the undercover assignment and that ambush….. Amy made him realize that she was more important to him than the job…. He is in it for the long haul….. He is a good cop he will be a very good husband because of what he missed out on.
John: When Amy told the family that he was a Reagan …. I had a sigh of relief especially after some of the dirt bags that she brought home
Frank: I have to say the Reagan men know how to pick the Reagan women….. my daughter -in- laws would make any family proud
John: four grandchildren coming up
Frank: Make it five…. My granddaughter is also expecting….. we just found out
John: Are telling me I may be a grandfather in a short time

John excuses himself as he sees Amy waving him over so that he can meet Paula Hill. Frank in the meantime sees a very nervous Abigail making her way towards him.

Frank is about to understand what Abigail is struggling with as he honors her request. As they dance Abigail's heart is pumping like a school girl at her very first dance with the boy that she had a huge crush on. As Abigail leaves Garrett comes to Frank and asks why Abigail left so quickly

Garrett: I've never been to a all Irish Wedding….. this is great….. their is definitely plenty to drink
Sid comes up: Boss thanks for inviting us this is great…. The food and drinks are something
Frank: I'm glad your having a good time… I need to go dance with my new granddaughter
On her way home Abigail's mind is racing with what just transpired... she opened the pandora's box that she has been afraid of opening... she is in love with Frank Reagan... what will she do now?
