Abigail returns to the office and brings Frank's morning coffee
Frank: Did you resolve what's been going on with you
Abigail: Let's say everything is very clear…. Brian and I have come to an understanding
Frank: Good … this place is not the same without you
Abigail: The temp wasn't to your liking
Frank: no that's not it….. the girl did what was expected…. But she wasn't you
Abigail: in what regards
Frank: I quickly realized ….I take you for granted….. you know what I expect without me having to say it
Abigail: I'll try to limit my time off in the future… but there will days that I won't be able to avoid it
Frank: before I forget….. don't schedule any appointments for next Thursday… Eddie is scheduled for delivery of my three grandsons
Abigail: I bet that will be a relief for her… When I ran in to her and Maria shopping I couldn't believe how she was able to do it.
Frank: Well ….. now she in under strict doctors orders to stay in bed until then….. Maria is going to help her out
Abigail: I noticed that they have formed a close bond for each other….. normally sister in laws don't necessarily get along that well….. but Eddie and Maria have become like sisters
Frank: they are something
Abigail: how do you think Amy will fit in… she appears to be in the same mould
Frank: I think you may be right… I'm glad your back now we can get back to normal…. Get Garrett and Sid to come in for the morning briefing
Eddie reassures Jamie that she will be alright and that he can go to work
Eddie: I know that you're taking Dr Stephanie's words to heart but I will be fine… I gave Maria the extra keys and she will be over shortly…. I will be in good hands… Evan my mother said she would come by…now you have a good reason to be at work
Jamie: Are you sure…. You promise to stay in bed
Eddie: I promise…. You're going to be home enough when the boys arrive
Jamie gives Eddie a kiss a heads off not before calling Maria
Jamie: Maria… thank you for volunteering to watch Eddie… Dr Stephanie instructed Eddie to stay in bed and avoid stress until the delivery…. You know Eddie….. she's going to do what she wants to do….don't let her get out of bed
Maria: we talked about it….. she won't do anything if it hurts the boys…don't worry … Danny is doing the same thing to me, but I'm not carrying triplets….. if something comes up I will let you know
The pending arrival of the triplets has become the main focus of the Reagans yet the family business still continues with surprises at every turn. Danny gets a call to investigate a black market baby mill. He meets Jamie who also responded to the location since it was in his district
Danny: Jamie….. what the hell is this place
Jamie: we've been getting calls of pregnant women coming and going from this place, but it doesn't operate as a pre natal care unit… What it looks like this may be a baby mill …. You know like a puppy mill. New York has recently legalized commercial surrogacy and the kind of money people are willing to pay for a baby is amazing
Danny: so if money is to be made …. Express babies to go develops….. do we have any of the mothers that are willing to talk
Jamie: from what we are able to find….. many are illegals of child bearing age and in vitro fertilization is done to them …. They are promised money and a place to stay
Danny: the handy work of our brilliant politicians… They open a Pandora's box and we are expected to fix their mess. Don't these jackasses ever realize the consequences…. Mass producing surrogate babies…what happens to the lives of some of these kids
Jamie: I'll have my guys collect whatever files are here and deliver them to your desk… your going to have your hands full
Danny: Just what I needed
Jamie: I would help you…. I'm on call with my own baby making factory… Eddie has to stay in bed… If it wasn't for Maria ….. I wouldn't be here
Danny: at least we are fortunate that our kids won't come into the world like some of these unfortunate babies
Once Danny gets to his desk and begins to research he quickly finds that their already is a disaster of surrogacy cases of men mass- producing surrogate babies for pedophile intended parents' whose only intention is abuse….. then those babies handed over to unstable adults that have no business having a child. Though the state has made it legal it has become increasingly difficult to distinguish surrogate pregnancies from child trafficking
As Danny continues to see the files and sees the babies that have been sold he goes home with a greater appreciation for his pending daughter and three nephews that are about to enter the world
He enters the house and he immediately goes to Maria and gives her a kiss for being the woman that she is
Maria: What was that for….. not that I minded it
Danny: I told Jamie today how lucky we both were for having two women like you and Eddie…. Today we both ended up at what looks like a Black Market Baby Mill … you should see some of the faces of these kids in their files….. it never ceases to amaze me as to how low people will go for money
Maria: they are now selling babies like puppies
Danny: that's the size of it….. now I have to find the bastards that are doing it
Maria: What's sad is they shut down Puppy mills but then they allow human baby mills to open…. How half ass backwards is that…. Babe…. I just got here….. Give me a little time and I'll make dinner
Danny: I got you covered….. I brought some Chinese carry out…. I'll bring home dinner while you are watching Eddie… you have to be tired from that
Maria: Your so good to me
Frank is notified of the Black Market Surrogate ring that is exploiting the new law established by the Governor and his very liberal Legislator
Sid: Ever since this new approval of commercial Surrogating got passed little baby mills are starting to sprout up. This one that Jamie and Danny are working on is the most blatant…. The place looked like puppy mill. These young girls most of them illegal got impregnated by some in vitro fertilization doctor and are having multiple births and the babies are sold individually for some big dollars
Garrett: where there is a demand suppliers come up
Abigail: Are you saying this is alright
Garrett: No ….. but today there are those that don't want to be inconvenienced by pregnancy….. apparently they had enough support in Albany to get it passed
Frank : most of the things coming out of Albany are screwing up this state than helping it….. this is one of them
Abigail: I've heard some horror stories about some of these babies, especially if they don't meet the designer needs of their so called parents. The most crucial period for any new born is the bonding period after birth….. Some may be loved by some well intentioned adoptive parents that truly want them, but there are those that maintain the same attitude of wanting to display their new acquisition and screw up these kids for life
After reviewing some of the mayors new directives Sid asks Frank if he could have 5 minutes in private
Frank: What is it Sid
Sid: I don't know if I should be telling you this but it may affect this office
Frank: Say what you need to say
Sid: you remember when you asked me to keep tabs on Brian Baker after that last blow up….. well I have ….. he has been doing a good job and hasn't gotten into any trouble until now… I've been told he may be cheating on Abigail… Boss ….. should I say anything to her … she hasn't been herself lately and I don't want to give her more to worry about
Frank: Give me the specifics…. I'll decide what she needs to know
Frank deliberates the rest of the day to see how he will handle this latest news. He knows Abigail to well ….she will sense when he is keeping something from her ….. so it is best if he feels her out to see what she is willing to tell him… she has admitted that there is a problem Brian … but they have come to and understanding
Frank: Abigail….. can we talk before you go home for the weekend
Abigail: What is it Frank…. Is there something you need me to do
Frank: We need to talk about Brian
Abigail: What has he done now
Frank: I don't want to pry into your private life …. But I thought that you two were working it out…. But I've got conflicting reports
Abigail: What reports… Frank …..Have you had Brian followed
Frank: Not actually….. That last incident with Brian had … I asked Sid to have his behavior monitored ….. so we didn't have a repeat… I don't know how to say it … but he has been caught with a female officer
Abigail: I'm not surprised… I did my own research … I know he has a girlfriend… that's why we came to an understanding that our marriage can no longer be fixed
Frank: What about you… Abby…..are you seeing someone also
Abigail: Really…..Frank…. you know me better than that… I refuse to remain in a loveless marriage that's why we agreed to a no fault divorce ….. I met with your son in law Jack to process the paperwork. Don't think I'm unhappy about it…. I'm actually relieved ….. my only concern has been my sons and how to protect them the best I can….. They love Brian and I don't want to change that for him by turning him into a cheater.
Frank: Abby…. What can I do for you
Abigail: Don't say anything about the divorce… I'll tell Brian he needs to be more discrete …. Once the divorce is final… everyone can know
Frank: I'll tell Sid it's been handled and the case is closed and no more monitoring
Abigail: Thank you …. I have to leave now if that's alright
The family gathers for Sunday Dinner with Jamie and Eddie being absent… Joe and Amy however came home from their honeymoon and wanted to share their happiness
Frank: welcome back ….. from the pictures Amy sent you two had a good time
Joe: Thank you again grandpa… Amy and I had a great time
Amy: You gave us the perfect gift to start our marriage….. Amy goes and gives Frank a hug and kiss
Henry: Those pictures showed that once again Reagan Men know how to pick Reagan Hottie's
Amy blushes
Danny: I can vouch for that…. Those bikini's certainly have a way with achieving desired results
Maria: I can vouch for that….. look at me now
Henry: You kids continue enjoying yourselves…. Before you end up like me or Francis
Frank: 2022 is starting to become a very memorable year for the Reagans…. Amy our newest Reagan woman….. Maria and Eddie our expecting mothers of the next generation Reagans… Erin…. My new years wish is you run the table and bring some sanity back to the DA's office… I raise my glass to all of you….. you've made me very proud
Henry: I never thought I would live this long to see it…. You kids have established a legacy of a job well done
Erin: Grandpa none of this would've been possible if not for you….. what you instilled in Dad and us is the true Reagan Legacy….. To Grandpa.

Meanwhile Jamie is trying to make Eddie more comfortable as they both are preparing for the big day
Eddie: Jamie…. I 'm really getting worried…. Are we ready for this… three baby boys ,Jamie
Jamie: Sweetheart… don't do this to yourself…. We were given the three boys for a reason…. They are our sons and we will do everything to make their lives special….. just think how special they are
Eddie: Rub my belly… let your sons feel what a wonderful dad they have….. Jamie … I couldn't love anyone more than you….. your the perfect husband and now the perfect dad…. Boys we are so lucky
Jamie: Let's get some sleep… Thursday will be here before we know it
Thursday arrives
Jamie: Eddie…. Sweetheart … let's get you ready
Eddie: Jamie….. tell me everything will be alright… I haven't slept all night thinking
Jamie: Everything will be fine… Dr Stephanie's assistant called and she will be waiting for you….. so all your working is for not….. just stay relaxed
Eddie: you will stay with me ….. right
Jamie: where else would I be…. There is nothing more important than you
Jamie helps Eddie into their SUV and Eddie notices her new reality….. three baby carriers strapped to the back seat
Eddie: it's really happening…. this dream is coming real
The Reagan network has also been busy….. Frank helps Henry into the Commissioner's SUV … Jack freed Erin's campaign schedule for the day…Maria made sure that Danny cleared his schedule…. She wanted him by her side. Joe and Amy also took the day off to be at the hospital.
Lena Janko has been a nervous wreck thinking of today as she and Armin enter the hospital and sees all the Reagan's waiting for the same news of the arrival of their grandson's
Frank: Lena…. Armin… the big day is finally here
Lena: how can you be so calm….. is Eddie alright…. Has she arrived… where is Jamie
Armin: Excuse her Commissioner… this is her way of dealing with this
Frank: Jamie came out before you got here…. Eddie is being prepped ….. they are doing all the necessary pro opps to make sure our grandsons are not in any stress entering their new world
Lena: I still can't believe my baby will be a mother… How could Jamie give her three at once… one was hard enough
As the grandparents have their conversation …. The aunts and Uncles have their's
Erin: Maria….. this must be exciting for you… your big day will also be here shortly… has my big brother driven you crazy yet
Maria: Danny has been great….. I don't know how he is when he is not with me….. but he has been very reassuring…. Telling me what Linda went through with Jack and Sean eased my mind
Danny: Being a father to a little girl after all this time … will be a new learning experience
Erin: Big Brother… you were there for Nikki when Jack wasn't around… I think you will do fine…. Now if she turns out as stubborn as we were …. Then you will have your hands full
Maria: one thing that will be for certain…. Our Danni will be loved… this family takes care of their own
Erin: Danny… you've been working solo lately…. Are you asking for trouble
Danny: finding a good partner has been hard…so I've been kinda sorting them out…. After Maria I got spoiled… you gotta admit she is hard to replace.
Erin: I was surprised at how you and Anthony got along on that last case with his cousin….. Anthony had nothing but good things to say even though he still thinks your a knuckle head
Danny: Are you suggesting I partner up with Fatso….. I thought he was your fatso working solely for you
Erin: If I get elected I've been thinking of something….. but I got to get elected first
In the operating room Dr Stephanie begins to explain what she will do …..Eddie and Jamie have received this procedural information before
Dr Stephanie: Your abdomen will be cleansed with antibacterial solution and your pubic hairs will be trimmed . A catheter will be placed into your bladder to collect urine more freely. Intravenous lines will be placed in a vein to provide the necessary fluid and medication to keep you and the babies hydrated. To keep your body as close to a natural birth as possible a regional anesthesia… spinal block and epidural block will not let you feel any pain when I perform the two incisions ….. first lower abdominal and lower uterine.
Eddie are you ready
Eddie: I'm as ready as I will ever be
After Eddie is numb Dr Stephanie performs her incisions and keeps the excessive bleeding contained as each boy is removed and cleaned. First is Justin who is the larger of the three …. Little red cap is placed on his head. Second is Jeremy and a little Blue cap is placed on his head. Third is Jonathan the smallest and a white cap placed on his head.
The surgical nurses clean and wrap each baby and then place them in incubators so that their vitals are recorded and monitored.
Jamie can't believe what he has just witnessed and asked the nurse if the boys are ok since each boy has IV lines attached to them along with breathing tubes
Nurse: It looks worse than what it is….. the boys appear to be in good shape….. but their weight has to increase before they can come with you… but don't be alarmed… Eddie needs the time to help her recover from those incisions
Dr Stephanie finishes stitching Eddie's incision's and then begins to talk to both Eddie and Jamie.
Dr Stephanie: I'm going to keep you and the boys in the hospital for the next week more as a precautionary than need… First…. I don't want to take any chances on your incisions getting infected… secondly the boys can use the time to gain a little more weight….. I don't want you to worry … this will do you both good…. Are we clear on that… once they are home with you... you will have your hands full. From what I can see all three of them are very healthy and they are very identical….. they came out of the same placenta … you are the parents of identical triplets
A very tired and sore Eddie smiles: When will I be able to hold them
Dr Stephanie: The incubators are set up so you will be able to touch them….. but first let's get you rested and more comfortable… You've been through a lot….. you have a lifetime of holding them
Jamie: Thank you doctor….. what else do we need to be on the look out for
Dr Stephanie : Once all the anesthesia wears off ...Eddie needs to drink plenty of fluids and begin to walk to prevent constipation and deep vein thrombosis. This week we will monitor any signs of infection plus help her in becoming comfortable in breast feeding your new sons. This week will be a precautionary week. At the end of the week we will go over everything you need to look for….. so far so good … congratulations on your three sons.
Jamie goes and gives Eddie a kiss: How do you feel
Eddie: I feel like I've been run over by a truck… are our of boys ok ….. your not keeping anything from me
Jamie: They are fine…. This week is to make sure they stay that way….. so don't worry … you need to rest…. I'll go talk to our family …. They are all waiting
Eddie: I love you Jamie….. I'm going to sleep now
Jamie goes to the waiting area and tells the family that the newest Reagans have arrived. He tells them they are identical ….. Justin has the Red cap…. Jeremy has the Blue Cap and Jonathan has the white cap. He also tells them not to be alarmed the tubes are to helped them get a little more weight and to breath more easily, but there is nothing to be concerned about. As for Eddie…. She is very tired and sore… She feels like she's been run over by a truck
