The group ran through the facility, quickly reaching the first corridor of cells where they found Edward. However, they stopped when they found what was waiting there for them. Arata Arikimo stood in front of them, blocking their path, with his blank expression conveying no emotions.

Luna looked into his dead eyes, looking as if she were on the verge of tears and muttered under breath,

"Dammit. What the hell did they do to you, uncle?"

She, of course, got no answer. She didn't think he was able to answer, he hadn't let so much as a word slip during their previous encounter in Academy City. In fact, he had barely made a sound.

He wordlessly brought up his splayed hand towards the group and relentlessly fired arrows made of air.

Touma rushed to the front as soon as he saw Arata raise his hand, raising his own right hand to counter him, however, his instincts told him to drop, and he followed them immediately, dragging Luna down in the process who landed on top of him. As he did so, parts of the metal walls broke apart and flew across the corridor where his and Luna's heads had just been.

Arata hadn't aimed for the group, he had aimed for the walls and had tried to hit them with the rubble instead.

"You okay?" Touma asked Luna as she picked herself up.

"Yeah, I'm good. Thanks." she replied, helping Touma to his feet.

She wasn't up for long as Arata repeated the attack and Luna dropped to the ground again, anticipating the attack and letting the shards of metal fly over her head. Touma, meanwhile, sprinted forward, trying to get out of the range of the attack which he was mostly able to do, except for one small piece of metal that scraped along his back, but he grit his teeth and continued forward.

He was able to close the distance between the two of them quickly and let loose his right fist, sinking it into Arata's gut. Arata bounced up into the air but managed to grab onto Touma's arm and let loose his own punch into Touma's gut. Touma doubled over and fell backwards but was quickly replaced by Luna, who tried to strike Arata in the face, but he dodged it easily by tilting his head to the side.

Having seen her first attack had missed, Luna tried use the momentum she had gained by spinning and sinking her heel into Arata's cheek, but he swept her legs out from underneath her, throwing her to the ground again.

Etzali, Worst and Umidori all charged at the same time in an attempt to overpower him with numbers but were thwarted by a storm of wind arrows unleashed by Arata. With no cover around them, the three rescuers' only option was to cover their vitals with their arms. The storm of arrows enveloped them, and small cuts appeared all over their bodies. One of the arrows managed to embed itself in Worst's arm before disappearing leaving a bloody hole where it hit. She clenched her jaw against the pain and shot out a spear of lightning.

Arata leaped to the side to avoid the bluish wite attack and in one smooth motion shifted his momentum to launch himself at Worst, possibly seeing her as a threat.

However, before he could reach her, Etzali stepped in, swinging his fist down on Arata, knocking him to the ground.

Etzali tried to follow up on his attack, attempting to kick Arata while he was down, but Arata was quicker, rolling backwards and onto his feet before jumping backwards to put some distance between himself and the Academy City residents.

He stopped for a second and looked over the group as if he were analysing them and then once again launching himself at Etzali, Worst and Umidori. As he did so, dozens of arrows of air started to form around him, aimed at the three people he was charging at.

With so many arrows aimed at them and nowhere for them to run or hide, the trio tried to force Arata down before he was able to fire the spears at them. However, whether it was a bolt of lightning from Worst's ability, a bullet from Etzali's handgun or a lance of nitrogen from Umidori's ability, Arata brushed of the attacks as if they were nothing and raised his hand into the air, ready to fire.

Suddenly, Arata tripped over something, the arrows disappeared, and the sound of breaking glass rang out through the corridor. Everyone looked down to his feet to see Touma, on his belly, reaching out with his right hand to grab Arata's ankle.

All four of Touma's allies saw their opportunity to attack, and they didn't need a second invitation. Worst fired spears of lightning at her target, keeping him occupied as Etzali and Umidori charged him, with Umidori already activating her bomber lance and Etzali raising his handgun.

However, Arata once again shrugged off Worst's lightning attack and used his foot to throw Touma towards the two people rushing him.

"Tch, what's with this guy? Nothing seems to work." Worst asked.

"No idea, but we know Imagine breaker works on him, so if we can restrain him and I hold on to him with it, we can win." Touma explained.

As they talked, Luna tackled Arata to the ground, but with his ability returned to him, Arata increased the speed of the wind around him drastically. Luna tried to cling onto him, but when the wind was directed straight at her and Arata started hammering blows into her arms, she couldn't hold on any longer and she lost her grip and flew into the wall, leaving a large dent in the white, metal surface and falling to the ground, somehow managing to keep her consciousness.

"Luna!" Touma shouted, but he didn't need to worry.

"Owwwwwwwww." she moaned squirming a little where she sat. "That's a solid zero out of ten, would not recommend."

Meanwhile, Worst, who was the only one left standing, shot towards Arata, using her magnetism to jump from wall to wall making herself harder to hit. Arata attempted to destroy the walls she was pulling herself to, but Worst simply changed her target. She managed to get within striking distance in no time and stretched out her hand, hoping to flood Arata's body with electricity.

However, before she could make contact, a huge gust of wind threw her up and she hit the ceiling. As gravity took control over her body, Arata tried to kick her. But Worst was faster, using her magnetism to get out of Arata's range.

"Damn, this guy's really becoming a pain in the ass." she muttered.

"Hey, you have something in common, maybe you two can form some sort of twisted friendship from that?" Touma retorted.

"No thanks. That would mean this Misaka wouldn't get to mess with Mr Director over in Academy City anymore."

"You know, sometimes I wonder what your intentions are with him."

Worst didn't have time to answer him as she detected something using her ability. More accurately, something or someone had come close enough that it was able to mess with it.

"This Misaka was wondering when she'd make an appearance."

She immediately pulled herself backwards and, using the small shards of metal that now littered the corridor, pulled everyone else back as well.

Unfortunately for Touma, she accidently did so by driving one of those shards of metal into his arm. At least, he hoped it was an accident.

"AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!" he screamed.

As he screamed in pain, the ceiling came down between them and Arata. The area was engulfed in dust and debris, and everyone started coughing as they struggled to keep the dust out of their lungs.

In the middle of the dust, standing on a small pile of rubble that used to be the ceiling, stood a high school girl with short, brown hair and who had the same face as Worst.

Mikoto Misaka looked around, quickly surveying the state of the fight. As her eyes scanned Touma, she noticed the wound on his shoulder and the metal shard sticking out of it.

"Why is it that you always find a way to get yourself hurt? Seriously. Every. Single. Time." she said, holding her head with her hand.

"Don't look at me, this was your sister's fault."

Mikoto raised an eyebrow at the girl who looked as if she might be her older sister.

"Shouldn't you be fighting him?" Worst asked, forcing Mikoto's attention to the man they were fighting.

As she did so, blue sparks started coming from her entire body, a tell-tale sign that she was activating her rampage dress. She glared at Arata as she got down low like a sprinter waiting for the starting pistol in the 100m, ready to launch herself towards him.

But she froze just as she was about to kick her feet off the ground. Her eyebrow twitched and she appeared to be angry at something. Everybody looked at her, wondering why she wasn't attacking the man in front of her.

"Did you just do what I think you did?" she asked out loud. Everyone behind her looked around and at each other, trying to find out who she was aiming the question at. They didn't have to wait long as a different voice spoke up, answering her.

"What did you expect, human?! I was stuck in your pocket whilst you jumped from an aircraft 800 feet from the ground! I had to suffer all those acrobatics you tried on the way down and finally, you activate that power of yours and electrocute me in the process!" the voice screamed from Mikoto's breast pocket.

Mikoto picked out the palm sized god from her pocket who was now covered in her own sick and sniffed her. A big mistake.

"Oh my god, you stink." Mikoto recoiled in disgust, holding her nose and nearly threw up herself.

"This is all your fault!" Othinus screamed, her voice rising in pitch as she got angrier at the level 5 she had dropped through the ceiling with.

Othinus climbed down from Mikoto, leaving a trail of her sick on the way down. Something Mikoto was not too pleased about to say the least.

"You little shit! What the hell is wrong with you! I'll feed you to the damned cat the next time that little brat is over."

Mikoto tried to stamp on the small goddess, but Othinus managed to dodge her. Just barely, but dodge her nonetheless. She managed to reach Touma and hid behind him hoping he'd protect him from his girlfriend's wrath.

"Woah, Mikoto, breath. Now's not the time for this, you can punish her all you want later, okay?"

"Tch. Fine, but I will punish her." She stated, pointing at Othinus. "Great, now I have to fight covered in sick." She muttered as she turned round to continue her fight. She was a bit surprised that Arata hadn't attacked yet, but she understood why as she turned around.

He wasn't there anymore.

"Huh? Where'd he go?" she asked no-one.

"Apologies, but I'm afraid he has a different task for now," came a woman's voice from seemingly everywhere.

Everyone looked around trying to gauge where the voice was coming from and quickly realised it was coming from a number of speakers around them. Touma was amazed they hadn't been destroyed when Mikoto brought down the ceiling. He wished he could have that sort of luck sometimes, it would mean a lot less time in rented apartments whilst his and Mikoto's got fixed.

"And that task is?" Mikoto asked, guessing the woman on the other side could hear her.

"He's retrieving poor Skye that you friend behind you there, hurt. I don't appreciate other people hurting my daughter by the way, so I hope he's ready to pay for what he did."

"So, what? This is a family affair now?"

The woman on the other side started laughing.

"Oh, yes. I guess you could say that. Why don't you ask dear Luna about it? I'm sure she would love to fill you in. But I suggest you hurry because this place is about to be destroyed." She announced before the speakers went dead.

A/N And there we have it. I don't really have much to say about this chapter other than I can't wait to reveal the background of these characters. (In before everyone ends up hating it.)

I'm thinking of changing the A/Ns from now on and just having them at the end of each arc as I usually struggle with what to say in these parts, but I will still reply to the comments each week if there are any.

Speaking of comments;

Guest: True, but I figured Worst would be the most technologically knowledgeable and would have known how to take it down even without her powers, so I decided to have her take it down whilst Touma saved Luna.

And that's everything. Hope you all have a good week and I'll have another chapter up next week. Bye.
