During the week Delphini as scraped up some money. she didn't know how much she'd really need. she has 25 pounds and 84 cents. she just hoped it was enough. her bag was already packed, it was light and she was wearing her only pair of shoes that fit. she put on the hoodie that was much too big for her and put her hair
she listened to make sure no one was coming before lights out. after the Coast was clear she opened up her window. it was painted over but she managed to get it up a while back. she got herself on to outside window ledge and on the roof down below. it wasn't so scary to her anymore. she slowly got herself closer to the edge. the bushes were full, good. she'd needed as much padding as she could get. she was scared but her wanting to leave was stronger than her fear of getting hurt. she jumped into the bushes with a crunch. she got herself up and dusted her self off. she did have to get some twigs out of her hair first.
she walked to the bus stop and wait for a bus to arrive. she knew where she going she heard one of them talk about little Hangleton. she would go there and look for them. maybe they were her parents, maybe a family that knew her mom and dad. or maybe they were their friends. she absentmindedly held her necklace. if was a gift that was left with her. she closed her eyes and she hoped that she'd meet them soon, and that bus got here soon... it was creepy at night... and just as she wish the bus came. but when she opened her eyes, she was surprised to see a purple, triple-decker bus. it was huge!
the doors opened so she walked inside, it was nice and warm in there. she sat down and the seat was warm too. it felt so nice. The bus driver looked at her and asked where she was going " oh " said Delphini, she held her necklace again " I'm going to little Hangleton sir ". The diver smiled at her and continued on his way. " oh do I need to pay? " the diver shook his head. " no not this time, children ride free but maybe when you're older and that fare will be 60. Cents " Delphini smiled a bit as her stop came up. She got off and looked for the house she saw in her dreams. She walked for a while before she saw the house on top of the hill. She grabbed her bag tight as she felt anxiety bubble up in her stomach. She walked up the hill and as her mind began to panic. She took a deep shaking breath and knocked on the door before her.
She felt scared as the moon bathed her and the home in light. She felt anxious waiting for someone to open the door. Maybe she should leave and come back in the morning... but she doesn't have a lot of money to sleep somewhere... she was so lost in thought she almost didn't hear the door open up. " hello?... " it was dark at night and tom had a long day, he was about to go to bed when he saw a little girl with Black scraggly hair, wearing a large hoodie the seemed to have eaten most of her and he could barely make out her face. " hello, I'm Delphini Lestrange I live at a foster home for unwanted children I was looking fo- " before she could finish he looked shocked before he pulled her in " my god " tom said as he closed the door " you were supposed to be safe with your godparents?! What are you doing here at night? Who was watching you??? " he felt so scared at that moment. who left the two year old baby in the muggle world.
Delphini looked at the man with surprise, he knew her. was he her father? her uncle? family friend? she didn't know but she wanted to know what happened. the man looked at her. " are you ok? you look cold? " Delphini nodded a bit. " yes sir... " she didn't want him to be mad at her and hit her. " you can call me Tom, I know you have lots of questions but let's get you cleaned up before you go to bed. I'll tell you more in the morning. " he had showed her the bathroom. " heads up, the bathroom is still underway but the plumbing works just be careful, the water can get a bit hot if you're paying attention " Delphini nodded before he continued " I'll also have clothes for you Delphi " the girl smiled and walked into the bathroom before she locked the door.
Tom walked away to look for some clothes to Transfigure for her and get a room ready. He found a clean towel that he transfigured them into a nice pair of pajamas, he then went on to charm the room and transfiguring what was needed. He was proud of himself for making the room look new, He then laid the clothes next to the door and when to the kitchen to heat up some food for her where he left it on her bed.
Delphini took off her oversized hoodie and put it on the ground and let her hair down. She walked to the mirror on the ground and saw herself. She was in a dirty torn black top and her black hair was dirty and Unkempt and knotted. She took the brush out and brushed her hair as much as she could. The bruises on her arms showed when she turned them. She didn't like to see her bruises. When she turned on the shower she noticed how nice and clean it was, it wasn't like the one at the foster home. The water here was already hot, she doesn't remember ever having a hot bath or shower so when she got in she felt cold leave her body. She didn't even notice she was that cold, to begin with.
there was even shampoo and conditioner, body wash, a fresh towel, and a washcloth. She was enjoying a shower for the first time. She didn't want to leave after she was done. She popped her head out the door to see if anyone was outside she noticed some clothes waiting for her. She picked them up and put them on after she closed the door again. When opened the door again she wearing long comfy pj's, she was smiling when remembered the man from before. " sir, sir? Er, Tom? " she saw the man come up to her. " your room is ready, I'll show you the way. " she followed him down the hallway. " your room is next to mine, Lily's and Holly's rooms. " Delphini nodded as he left to room. When she opened the door she saw how nice and clean it was, she hardly noticed the plate of food waiting for her on the plush bed. When she sat down on the bed she saw the plate with steak, corn, mashed potatoes, and gravy. She felt so hungry she ate it Immediately. When she was down she felt better and full. She laid down in the bed and felt drifted off into sleep.
