Baharuth Empire - Arwintar

.

Arche opened her eyes as the first light of the sunrise of a new day dawned upon her. She shuffled out of the large bed as she stretched her back to remove the stiffness on her body. A slight breeze flitted through the slightly open window as she walked to it and looked at the large sprawling grounds. Outside her window was a large terrace that connected the whole of the 2nd floor. As she surveyed her surroundings, a red-robed man passed about outside. Shaking her head at the sight she counted four more guards walking around the large compound of Lord Samuel as the masked guards stoically guarded the estate of her Master.

Surprisingly, she tried to engage them once into conversation and found them rudimentary speakers. They would answer her questions respectfully, but would not elaborate anymore on a situation. Though she finds it quite odd for them to respond as such, she shrugged her shoulders and returned to her bed. Fixing her sheets and covers, Arche then walked over to the other large bed on the room. On it were the two sleeping form of her twin sisters, she picked up some discarded books, not only because she knew they were not cheap, but because the Master might be a bit miffed by their disregard to books from his library. They were probably reading the books last night trying to wait for her, but she came back at a very late hour last night as she helped Sir Zadicus and Sir Lily in setting up the caravans they would use for their trip to E-Rantel and the Sorcerer Kingdom respectively.

Lord Samuel decreed that she would accompany the caravan towards E-Rantel and would leave the twins to their devices for at least a week. Well, their Master said a week, hopefully it does happen that way.

Kuuderika and Ureirika breathed evenly as they both settled down nicely on the large estate. True to the word their Master spoke, the twins were tutored by the former governess of a well-known noble family that once occupied this estate. By no simple means was she found by the Master and was put to work immediately to tutor the twins in all points of education. They were taught everything, hygiene, drawing a bath, sewing clothes, household cleaning, general upkeep and of course good morals and right conduct to each and everyone that they came across. Oddly enough, they were taught to respect all life, humans, demi-humans, even monsters to an extent. They are also told to help anywhere in the large estate, though they are not forced to do anything, as children they are more than happy to help the adults in anyway they can. Arche also smiled at the dolls her sister clutched in their small arms, their Master gave them toys as a gift and has not deviated in anyway from the things he said to her weeks ago when he bought them from their bastard of a father.

All in all, it seemed that her fate and the twins turned out for the good at the moment.

Additionally, this is the most secured place in the Baharuth Empire, second only to the Magic Academy and the Royal Palace itself. Though she doesn't show, it seemed obvious that their Master is very powerful. To command the services of such excellent men like those of his inner circle, Sir Barristan (Bardiel), Sir Ramos (Ramiel), Sir Lily (Leliel), Sir Baramus (Baraqiel), Sir Zadicus (Zadkiel), Sir Azlan (Azrael) and 2 others she had not seen. To be able to command such men of letters and knowledge shows his power alone, yet he has close to at least 100 heavily armed soldiers guarding his estate and the Trading House. The materials alone to outfit at least those men would have taken a large sum of money that far exceeded what they had before when they still had their noble titles, which could explain the reason why his father quaked at the thought of defying their Master. Luckily for them though, he had taken them under his wing and certainly valued them not as slaves only, but as adopted children. This thought brought a slight blush on her cheeks as she began feeling fondly for their Master.

"That is why I will do everything I can to not disappoint Master Samuel," she walked towards the recent addition to their room which is their own bathroom and lavatory, it was a great innovation to be honest. She couldn't understand the basics herself, but running water was now within reach and she savored not having to take water from a nearby well to wash herself. Quickly though she splashed water on her face to clear the morning dust, then took a wet cloth and wiped down the slight perspiration from sleeping. Walking back to their room, she began taking out her equipment, armor and gear. She shimmied out of her sleeping gown and began donning her undergarments first, halfway through putting her leather bracers the twins stirred from their bed. Continuing her activity she watched them sit up and looked at her sleepily, she was straightening her hair when they became fully awake as they both smiled to greet her.

"Big sister!"

"We missed you!"

Arche's heart melted as she knelt down and hugged her two sisters, to be honest they were the world to her, and the only reason she has kept living and tiring herself by working as a slave. Though the luxury they are having now is far from being called a slave.

"I missed you too, but big sister has to leave again," she kissed their forehead as they both made an adorable pouting sound.

"Ehh!?"

"Why!?"

She gave a small laugh as she pats their head, one hand on each head, "Master Samuel wanted to see if they could open a trade route to the Re-Estize Kingdom, I will be going with the 1st caravan as Sir Zadicus's secretary and bodyguard."

"B-but isn't Big Brother Zadicus stronger than you?"

"Eh? Who told you that?" Arche looked miffed at that, you gotta hand it to the twins, though they could only read a few words, they are quite sharp for young children, "Well, he is certainly stronger than me. But he could get lonely when he's all alone for the trip."

"How about us?" Kuudereika opened up with her best puppy eyes.

Ureireika also cooed at her, "-yeah, how about us? We get lonely too"

'Oh by Gods,' she hated it when the twins were like this. Master Samuel said it before and she believed that he was right, together they could bring anything to its knees with the rubbish thing they do with their puppy eyes, "Don't worry, you will have Master to look after you while I'm gone."

"-and big brother Barristan!"

Huh?

"What did you say? Big brother Barristan?" Arche's eyes furrowed, he's the scariest guy she has ever met and yet the twins are now on Big Brother terms with him?

"Yeah! He's so cool! He taught us how to fold paper animals and also to read sometimes!"

"Yeah! He reads to us too and lets us draw using his paint!"

Her twin sisters was talking animatedly about Sir Barristan, whose images was that of a cold and stoic-faced character. Who would have thought that he was actually good with children, or perhaps it was only against her that she was cold. She shook her head to perish the thought as she give the twins each a kiss and bade them goodbye.

"Very well then, I will see you two as soon as my trip is over. Go get dressed for the day okay?"

Both girls kissed her back on the cheeks as she walked away and opened the door, clutching her staff on her hand she walked towards the corridor and saw a red-hooded guard standing on the corner of the hallway. Another one was walking towards her as they also patrolled the whole estate. She gave a slight nod in acknowledgement as the soldier saluted at her crisply. Arche sighed inwardly, seriously these soldiers need to lighten up. Making her way to the 1st floor, she headed for the kitchen and was surprised to find Sir Zadicus and Sir Lily already having their breakfast as the servants moved about to cook for the persons within the estate.

"Good morning Sir Zadicus, Sir Lily," she greeted them with a bow.

"Morning Arche," Sir Lily greeted her with a mug on his lips as he read a piece of scroll.

"Morning," Zadicus shoved a large piece of egg on his mouth, "Get some breakfast quickly, were about ready to leave."

Arche approached the counter near the stoves as a Magos manned oven with numerous servitors behind him, she smiled as the stoic looking man gave her a stern nod.

"Umm, toast and eggs please."

"Very well," the Magos looked back at the servitor and turn back to her, "Want some hot chocolate with that?"

The young girl's eyes lit up, "We have some?"

"The Master ordered some to be brought up into his room, apparently that include his guest that is with him right now. The Master is not selfish to deny us what he has."

"Then I would love some please."

She looked pleased at that, even for a slave and the denizens of the Empire, chocolate is a luxury one cannot dismiss so. It was introduced by the Master as he was reviewing what products to introduce to the Empire. There was such a large variety of it that even the Emperor was enamored at the idea of such a sweet confection available inside his territory. Of course, the plant itself was not hard to take care of, but the Master wishes to restrict its production only within his control. As such, the Empire has outlawed the sale, production, distribution and commerce of said product, except through the only approved channel such as the Trading House of Lord Samuel. This in turn allowed the Empire a 20% net profit in exchange for the use of lands controlled by the Emperor. Ensuring not only does the coffers of the Baharuth Empire remain full, but the Crown will have its supply of this godly confection at any time it wishes. As such, it was such a pleasant thing to have this drink in the morning. Again, one of the luxuries she has been thankful for ever since she had been under the care of the Master.

Quickly devouring her breakfast she stood up and followed Zadicus and Lily towards the workshop on the back of the estate.

She walked outside to the back of the mansion and headed towards the Manufactorum, as the Magos all called the building they were heading into. Passing by in front of the barracks of the red-robed soldiers, she could see some of them getting ready for the day, those that worked the night shift would now be relieved by the morning shift. Though she never saw them take off their mask outside, she would always see them wear something in front of their face. Like a mask, or a half-mask, they would occasionally wear dark glasses that looked the same as Sir Barristan would wear. But they would take great care not to show their full face to anyone. She often wondered why it was so, but maybe because Sir Lily once told her that all the soldiers were all sworn to serve the Master at one point of their lives. This surprised her as their devotion was second only to none that she has ever seen, not even the Knights of the Empire had such notion of service.

Finally reaching the Manufactorum, she could not believe nor understand it when they told her the first time what the large building behind the mansion was for. If not as large, then the Manufactorum could be considered larger than the mansion of the Master itself.

But seeing it for her own eyes, it was truly something else.

Forges fueled by an endless supply of wood and coal burned day and night, churning out excellent forge works. From weapons such as swords, axes, spears, halberds, shields, even armor. She was mystified by the way the Magos worked on them as even the blacksmiths of the Empire that once visited actually begged to be apprenticed by the numerous Magos, but was respectfully turned away. Additionally, even household materials such as pots, pans, kettles, even ladles, spoons, fork and knives were all made in the same manner. She moved past the forge works and came upon the pottery section, where each and every conceivable example of earthenware is sculpted, baked, painted, and finally customized. Passing through a narrow door she then came upon the textile section of the place where all items and products concerning textile, clothing and jewelry are manufactured.

Zadicus and Lily were standing on the next section as Arche sidled up next to them. That is another thing that she found exasperating with her new Master and his inner circle, it was like they had a movement spell cast unto them, for they sometimes would move with such unholy speed it sometimes looked unnatural to be honest- but what the hell.

"Ah! Arche look at this," Lily holds out a model horse made of wood, "What do you think?"

Inspecting the fairly large toy on her hands, she flipped it over and analyzed the design, "It looks fairly well made and detailed Sir. A boy would certainly love this if their father would buy it for them."

"Hmm, did you not notice anything special about it," Zadicus smiled at her assessment, "Look at the small notches on the middle of the horse? Try to pull it apart like a chest."

"How do you-" Arche puts her thumbs together and pulled apart the notches and was surprised as the horse opened and tiny little soldier toys came spilling out, "-what in the world is this?"

"This is the new prototype toy that we would be bringing along with us," Lily pointed to two new crates that were being sealed by servants as they began to lead her towards the outside.

"I don't know, I mean-" she puts a soldier toy on her palm and examined it, it was really well made as the soft metal was molded and painted quite skillfully thereby giving an excellent approximation of a soldier, "-it looks expensive though."

"Well, it is only a prototype- and Lord Samuel has approved of such an item to be so were going with it."

"As long as we get what Master wants, I'm sure there would be no problems."

Zadicus smiled at that as she led her towards the carriage they would be taking, "Well then Lily, we'll be going now. I'll see you when I see you brother!"

"And I shall see you again brother," they clasped each others arms as their eyes talked without words. Arche smiled at that, the inner circle could talk with only their gestures and their eyes. She hoped that one day, she could be that way too with them. With the servitors securing the cargo on the numerous carts, each of the two caravans was made up of 5 carriages carrying a Magos and 2 soldiers each. Pulled by eight-legged horses called Sleipnir, they could run tirelessly for days in order for them to reach their destination much quicker. They settled down on their seats as Zadicus began reviewing their checklist of items with Arche confirming each and every item from her own checklist.

By the time they finished it was already past mid-day and have reached the last frontier city of the Empire and home of Master Samuel's acquiantance, Magistrate Tibian. After paying him a visit and leaving gifts, which is an excellent way to rekindle connections and also to confirm his reports on their attempts to penetrate the markets of the Re-Estize Kingdom.

They left the city without much fanfare and pushed through past the Imperial Castrum, the great fortress guarding the border of the Empire that straddled the outskirts of Solsticium and the Katze Plains.

It was almost dusk when Zadicus took Arche's attention again as the Azerlisia Mountain range loomed from afar and the darkness of the Great Forest of Tob surrounded them everywhere.

"Behold Arche," the man spoke with great reverence, "We are now passing through the realm of the Undead King."

"Shouldn't we have any problems by just continuing on?"

"We are safe as it is-" he stopped as a ghastly horn sounded from afar as the man looked ashen, "-unless they haven't been cleared by the Sorcerer Kingdom."

"Wha- what is that!?"

From a far, a group of soft lights seemed to move with unholy speed towards them. A cold chill gripped Arche as she finally saw what was pursuing them. It was 10 Death Cavaliers charging towards them from almost 500 meters away. Their aura was oppressing, their visage was horrible to gaze upon, their armors as hard as adamantium and their power could bring down a fairly large city on their own. Their large swords howled with the death throes of their latest victim as they continued to gain ground against them.

An unholy fear crept up to her as she looked back and saw Sir Zadicus nonchalantly observing the approaching calamity.

It was as if he wasn't the least bit bothered by their coming doom that-

"Sir Zad? Shouldn't we defend ourselves?"

"No need, look-"

It took all of Arche's self-control to look back again at the now larger than life Death Cavaliers. From afar, she could see with her 'All-Seeing Eye' the power exuded by these heralds of death. But what happened next made her flabbergasted even more.

"ARE YOU- COMPANIONS- OF THE ENVOYS FROM- THE BAHARUTH EMPIRE?"

Though it was halting and somewhat raspy, a haunting voice came from within the ethereal armors. It shocked her that these monsters were speaking with them, least of all reasoning with them. Then she remembered who controls the city of E-Rantel now.

"Indeed we are, I believe my colleague has spoken to your supervisor?"

The apparition nods its head and said, "WE ARE SENT- TO ESCORT YOU- ALLOW US UNTIL THE BORDER- OF THE SORCERER KINGDOM."

"We are in your care then," Zadicus gave a slight bow as the Death Cavalier raised its weapon and rode ahead of their column. As they rode forward, the concealed Angel sat down comfortably on his chair and closed his eyes. Arche didn't immediately took her seat, she watched as the Death Cavaliers really did rode out front and moved in unison with the convoy. Finally taking her seat after they have gone a fair distance away, Zadicus said through closed eyes, "Try and get some rest, we should be arriving at the borders of the Re-Estize Kingdom in the morning."

"Yes sir."

Azerlisia Mountains - Feo Berkana

.

Sporadic gunfire erupted everywhere as all passages to the ancient city was taken by the soldiers of the 7th Legion. Starting with the charge of the 3rd and 5th Company of the Alpha Legion that swiftly took the Southern Gate of the city, the rest of the Legion took hold of the Western Gate that leads to the city of Feo Raizo that is now in the hands of the 7th Legion. The passages leading to Feo Teiwaz remained unclaimed, but not for long as the forces that took the Southern Gate has begun their advance towards the Northern Gate, while the Eastern Gate that leads outside to Feo Jera and to the outside is now being besieged by the 3rd Legion. Because General Baraqiel felt confident that the Undead Legion could hold Feo Jera without fail and keep even its surrounding area safe from any amount of attack, while the Black Legion of his brother Bardiel holds the whole outside of the Azerlisia mountain range.

Thus, he would only need to concentrate on holding the 3 passages, including the access to the Royal Palace to smash the Quagoa into oblivion.

From their vantage points, the 1st Company of the Alpha Legion directed their fellow soldiers and coordinated their attacks one by one. With only the 9th Scout Company, it took them less than a week to take a city the size of Feo Raizo, now with the whole 7th Legion brought into bear, it looked like the city would be taken in less than a day. As each and every street was cleansed with fast moving Ironstriders, and every fortified position was blasted by the powerful weapons that were used by the Skitarii. It was like a large unstoppable wave of water that came pounding on the beach and sweeping away all that stood in its path. With the 7th Legion gaining the ground within the city in such speed and force, the Quagoa was caught by surprise as any defenses and counter-attack that they launched was immediately met and put down.

Pe Riyuro slammed his balled fist into the hard stone floor where he sat, every engagement that he sent his warriors into was easily rebuked. Every attack blunted at the start, every maneuver they attempt was immediately crippled. How could the dwarves mounted such an offensive against them, or was it the iron men that his men encountered awhile ago? But it was simply too fast for them to attack them at this time. An army this large and vast couldn't have mobilized this quickly and in such numbers that they were encountering right now. It was not possible since they would have been detected by the Frost Giants outside, unless they have already subdued the outside world, which was next to impossible because the Giants were as formidable as the Dragons inside the mountain.

"But who would attack us?"

Suddenly, a group of Quagoa pushed themselves in front of their Clan Lord and still panting said quite loudly, "My Lord, our forces at the front has retreated to give you this."

From behind them a body of a man, clothed in red cloak was unceremoniously dumped in front of their Lord as one proclaimed.

"My Lord, this is one of the bodies of the 'iron men'-" the soldier picked up the figure of the man and showed the surgical implants and limb prosthesis made of metal, "-they have metal growing out of their bodies my Lord. This one was captured after bringing down at least 10 of our soldiers. Its weapon could tear apart even stones where our soldiers hide in ambush. Observe."

Another Quagoa produced its weapon, a plasma pistol with enough charge on it to kill half of the occupants of the large hall. The Quagoa who held it cautiously pointed it to a portion of the stone wall and pulled the trigger. There was a sudden whirring sound and a glob of white-hot plasma shot out of the muzzle and exploded on the wall. Its passing burning the air around it as the projectile left a large scorch mark on the carved stone wall. An ozone smell permeated the air as Quagoa with less fortitude scratched and tried to expel the smell from their nostrils.

Pe Riyuro looked grimly at the damaged wall, "So, this is the capability of our enemy?"

"Yes my Lord," the leader of the Quagoa group, "Unfortunately, this one is only one of many who lead a hundred others in a hail of projectiles that could penetrate our strongest hide. Even our most hardened warriors were unable to last long against such a barrage."

Pe Riyuro examined the corpse of their enemy further and found it intriguing. For them to move with their metal limbs like so, and function as an effective fighting force. They were of average height for a human, one of its eyes were metal, while the other is human. It wore a plumed helm, a probable officer, and its armor was quite sturdy and shimmered from the small light that illuminated their hall. They were all still conversing and deliberating what to do next with their enemy when a small twitch on the supposed inert hand made him look and did a double-take.

"Wha-"

It was too late, the Centurion reactivated his brain implant and pumped his heart and body full of battle drugs. Even with a broken leg and a portion of his chest missing flesh and one of his arms shredded apart by the enemy. He easily stood as if nothing was wrong with his body and shouted in his robotic voice.

"FOR THE GLORY OF THE WARMASTER AND THE-!"

And a loud explosion tore through the whole Merchant Guild building, almost leveling the large hall and effectively crippling the Quagoa leadership.

.

From their elevated perch, Praetor Herzog looked through his binoculars and gave a satisfied grunt at the burning building. Behind him, another Centurion approached and said, "We have received report that one of our Centurions have initiated 'Last Light' protocol."

"I know, I just saw him take out the Merchant's Guild building."

"Really? Then they were really foolish for taking him to their base."

The Praetor stepped back from the ledge and headed back to his group on the lower levels, "We really can't blame them, every enemy who 'thinks' need to know who they are dealing with. Our Centurions carry a plethora of information that could compromise our army, though it makes our army's maneuverability top notch, it is also one of its drawbacks. Additionally, it also ensures not one information can make its way into our enemies and bite us back in the campaign."

"A need to know?"

"Indeed," the Praetor faced his soldiers and said, "Men, our General is coming. We need to take whatever is left of the Merchant Guild and await his arrival."

"Do we have ETA?" one Tribunii raised his armored hand, "-or the enemy composition at least."

Herzog grinned at that as he dons his helm, "Same old, same old. Not something we cannot handle."

He then walked towards the way downward to the streets below to join the panic and discord that the sacrifice of their Centurion had wrought against the enemy.

.

"General Baraqiel!"

The Angel General stopped as he turned and saw Praetor Ingo Pech catching up to him. With the bulk of the Alpha Legion pouring into Feo Berkana, the Undead Legion was dispatched to Feo Raizo together with the Dwarven Army as they secured that recently liberated city much to the astonishment and delight of the dwarves. True to their word and their boast, they would liberate the WHOLE mountain in a week.

"What is it Praetor?"

"We have received word that Praetor Herzog has reached the vicinity where the leader of the Quagoa was last sighted," he sidled up beside his General as they headed for the grounds of the Royal Palace, "Fortunately, he was waiting for confirmation that the Clan Lord was there, though one of our Centurion sacrificed himself for this information."

"Hmm, try to recover his cerebral cortex. See if it can be salvaged, his memories would serve to make an excellent soldier."

"We will try My Lord."

"Good, I wish to secure the whole city before we take on the Dragons."

"According to Praetor Herzog they have secured the entrances to the Royal Palace, any Quagoa that tried to retreat or retake the bridges were turned away."

Suddenly, Lord-General Baraqiel stopped walking and turned to the Western side of the city. From afar a cold wind seemed to make its way through the city as he felt the presence of his elder brother.

"My brother is here."

Praetor Ingo Pech looked at his General and asked, "Lord-General Bardiel? He's here-"

"Yes, we must move and meet him," he shook his wings in the creeping cold as he continued to head towards the Royal Palace followed by elements of the 7th Legion.

.

Meanwhile

.

Bardiel's eyes shone like polished obsidian as he marched on the Western outskirts of the Dwarven city. All around him were bodies of Quagoa warriors felled by the initial fighting. A Praetorian approached him marked as part of the 9th Centuria of the 7th Legion.

"My Lord-General, welcome to Feo Berkana."

The black general did not speak immediately, but looked towards the Royal Palace as he felt his brother moving towards it. He then turned to the 7th Legion Praetorian.

"You look new?"

"Indeed my Lord, I am the 4th Praetorian for the 9th Centuria. The fighting was quite vicious in the beginning and we do not have ample information against the enemy."

Bardiel sighed and shook his head, "And I was left with the subjugation of the Giants, when all the fighting to be had was under here. Well, you have to draw the short straw sometime. What is the situation Praetor?"

"Our forces have taken roughly 75% of the city, with the bulk of their army still holding at the Merchant Guild-" the soldier pulled out a tablet and showed the hologram to the 3rd Legion's General as their own Praetor's approached him, "-our fortified positions are here, where the entrance to Feo Raizo are- and here to the main entrance leading to Feo Teiwaz is also held by our Legion. There are holdouts and fortified positions by the enemy, but we will flush them out."

"Have the use of explosive weapons relaxed yet?"

The Praetor shook his head, "General Baraqiel forbade the liberal use of explosive weapons since it could ruin the whole city. He wishes not to repeat the razing of Feo Raizo where the Legion almost leveled all the government and housing in that city."

Bardiel nods his head and then turns to his two Praetors, "Praetors Tarik Torgaddon and Gavriel Lokien, gathered the Justaerin. We will bulldoze through the Merchant Guild on our way to the Royal Palace. Praetors Ezekyle Abaddon and Horus Aximand will take charge of the rest of the Legion and cleanse the rest of the city with our brothers of the 7th Legion. As their doctrine dictates, no mercy, no prisoners."

"Understood Lord-General," the 4 Praetors beside him acknowledged as the latter 2 went to the rear to assemble the rest of the Centuria of the 3rd Legion that came with them.

He then turned the 7th Legion Praetor and commanded, "Come with us, I will need you as liason."

As they marched, a black flood of soldiers charged through the streets as the suffering of the Quagoa intensified.

Great Tomb of Nazarick - 9th Floor

.

Nigun Grid Luin nursed the drink in his hand, the bouquet of the fine wine brought jitters out his body as he looked at the man beside him. Likewise, Erythro also nursed the drink on his hand as the 'Sous-Chef' hovered near them, wiping glasses and ensuring that the table top is clean. He then looked behind them at the resting Cardinal as he also clutched a glass of drink and a cold towelette covered his forehead, eyes and temple. Twitching ever so slightly, he was ordered to calm himself before showing himself back to Lord Ainz as he seemed hysterical after laying his eyes on their lord.

I mean, who could blame him after seeing such a Godly Being.

A being that clearly resembled the God of Death himself, though the Undead King denied his divinity over and over again, he kept close the words that Erythro once spoke of after coming out of a trance.

"The truly divine, does not require worship."

Alas, Lord Ainz ordered him taken to the 9th Floor and be given drinks for his nerves until such time that he can once more face them. Nigun tried to stifle a laugh as Erythro nudged him a bit while taking a swig of his drink, "What are you laughing about?"

"Nothing, its just that I remembered the Cardinal's first response."

"Ah," as the Apostle also smiled, "Yes, the crazed Cardinal."

.

Nazarick Throne Room - few minutes ago

.

"ALL HAIL THE GOD OF DEATH!"

"... umm-"

"ALL HAIL THE GOD OF DEATH!"

"... r-really now-"

"STAY YOUR HAND OH LORD! WE WOULD HAVE ONLY SERVED YOU MY LORD!"

"... oh c-come on-"

"SEND US NOT FROM YOUR SIGHT DEATH GOD! MERCY! MERCY UPON US!"

They both watched as Cardinal Dominic dropped down on all floors and almost kissed the carpeted floor, shocked at the actions of the old man, they were both kneeling and immovable, unable to stop the Cardinal as he screamed and pleaded with all his might. Even Nigun seemed troubled at what the Cardinal was doing, would their Lord see this as an affront? He spied a glimpse and saw an alarming scene.

The Dark God's head was resting on his knuckles while his elbow rested on his great throne. As if, looking at the Cardinal like a passing curiosity, he looked bored or possibly contemplating on what to do with them.

Silently, he offered a prayer for the Death God and a soft cheer for the antics of the old Cardinal to actually work.

Then a deep cough that easily cuts through the wailing old man, who also stopped mid-sentence as Lord Ainz's deep baritone voice carried through the large hall.

"Demiurge-," an escort of the Undead King with a finely tailored suit and a prehensile tail coming out from behind turned to the King knelt low, but not before wiping the extremely pleased expression on his face that threatened to split his face in half quite literally, "-have a maid bring the Cardinal to the Bar at the 9th Floor and instruct the Sous-Chef to give him something for his nerves. When he has sufficiently calmed himself, then you may bring him to me again."

"As you wish My Lord," the still smiling demon cleared his throat and said loudly while activating [Command Mantra], "SLEEP!" and the Cardinal promptly dropped down on the floor.

Lord Ainz then stood up, waved his bony hand and stepped through the portal he just opened. Both Nigun and Erythro looked dumbfounded as a very complicated spell, like teleportation, was merely child's play to their God. Followed by Lady Albedo and the rest, Demiurge turned to Nigun and pointed to the old man.

"Pick him up and follow me."

They obeyed quickly as the Arch-Demon waved his hand and opened another [Gate], Nigun finally understood how in the world can the servants of his master can vanish just like that. Apparently, each and everyone of them can perform a spell of such high caliber without batting an eyelash. Perhaps it is a pre-requisite of being within the inner circle of the Supreme Beings. They both picked the old Cardinal up and followed the Arch-Demon through the roiling black mass.

.

Finally, Cardinal Dominic himself took the pristine white towel from his face and took a slow sip from his drink. Nigun and Erythro looked at him as he turned to the maid and softly said.

"Please tell our gracious Lord, that I have now recovered and in control of my feelings."

Lumiere gave him a small smile, turned away and walked outside the door. Taking his cue, the Sous-Chef took out another drink and said, "Cardinal, please drink this. It will re-invigorate you after such a stressing event."

The old man joined them at the table top and took the offered drink, he puts it on his lips and savored the bitter taste of the whiskey.

"How do you feel Cardinal?"

Dominic licked his lips as he closed his eyes and sighed deeply, "You both know of the story of me once commanding the Sunlight Scripture correct?"

"Of course your Eminence," intrigued at the sudden tone of voice of the old man, Nigun turned towards him as Erythro also did likewise, "We are both aware of your feats before- numerous cleansing of demi-human villages, clandestine incursion into the Argland States, assassinations within the Baharuth Empire. Most of your deeds are still sealed and would remain so for the next 20 years after your death. I have seen the scrolls your Eminence."

"Indeed, but are you also aware that aside from my skills in combat, I also possess latent abilities for scrying."

It was then Erythro's turn to nod his head, "That would explain your reaction, I believe it would be overwhelming to the senses?"

Cardinal Dominic downed the drink he was given and felt immediate relief and a surge of energy coursing through his body, "His mana is unfathomable, the intensity of his innate magic hurts my ethereal eye, it was only but a moments glimpse and yet-"

"I know what you mean Cardinal," the Dark Apostle sighed at that, "I can only close my eyes and try to shield my 2nd sight, but he shines so brightly nevertheless. His power is like a beacon right?"

"No, not a beacon Apostle," the Cardinal stood up as the maid named Lumiere returned, "He was brighter than the sun. Like a God."

.

While the shenanigans at the bar was happening, the Sorcerer King vanished once more into the solitude of his room. Silently rolling on top of his bed like a piece of onigiri on a sheet of nori, he sighed over and over again as he comically buried his face on the soft pillows.

'My god! Why can't I just deal with normal people for just one more day? Every time I go back here, something absurd happens,' the human inside of Ainz, Satoru Suzuki, sighed once more as the 'emotional dampener' or his passive kicked in. Suddenly, a steady knock from the door made him perk up.

"Who is it?"

"Ainz-sama, may I come in?" a soft confident voice said through the door.

"Umu, you may come in," he said but not before sitting properly on the bed and grabbing his philosophical book on his bedside table, "Is that you Lumiere?"

The Homunculus maid had a tinge of red on her cheeks, it was one of the endearing qualities of their Lord. He can remember each and everyone of their names, a weak, insignificant thing like her was remembered by a Supreme Being. Truly, it was one of the greatest honor to serve them, "Indeed my Lord, it is I Lumiere. I have come to report that the human Cardinal that the heretic Nigun brought has reported that he has calmed down and is ready to face you again."

"Very good, I was beginning to think we would need to cast a spell on him just to calm down," he puts the 'phony' book back on his bedside table and stood up, taking great care to remove the wrinkles on his jet-black robes, "By the way Lumiere, escort them to the Throne Room and please mention to your sister 'Increment' that I expect her on day-off today since she will be attending me tomorrow, I saw her awhile back holding a rag and about to clean the door on Nishikenrai's room."

"As you wish my Lord."

The maid bowed low, turned and exited his room, Ainz walked over to his large mirror and sighed once more.

'Welp, here we go again.'

.

The Undead Lord opened the door of his room and found Demiurge and Cocytus waiting for him, it was decided that the Cardinal was not a threat to him and Shalltear was sent back to guard the entrance of Nazarick while the twins was sent to go by their business. Cocytus would act as the primary protector of Lord Ainz as he nods his head knowingly and the 2 Guardians followed right behind him.

"Ainz-sama, we have brought the human Cardinal back to the Throne Room as per your instructions," Demiurge looked to the Overlord as he moved one step forward to speak with him, "He seemed somewhat more pacified than before."

"Very good, though it amuses me on his outlook of me. We need to ascertain where his heart and loyalties lie," the Overlord turned to the Arch-Demon and nods his head, "As you are indubitably aware, he was approached by Sammael's heretic as the foothold necessary to get into the inner workings of the Theocracy. Demiurge, I wish for you to observe him and then tell me later on things that I might have missed."

"Oh such an honor Ainz-sama! To even allow me the grace of having my views of import-"

"What nonsense Demiurge," the Lich stopped walking as he turned to the demon and said, "You and Albedo are the two things that I look for counsel aside from Sammael's words. Of course you have much value to me."

The demon was stunned as he gave a small bow as the Overlord continued walking towards the Throne Room. Cocytus stood beside the demon as he remained still after bowing to their Lord.

"ARE. YOU. ALRIGHT?"

Demiurge looked at him with an ear-splitting smile as he tried not to look too pleased with himself.

"I am fine Cocytus," he stood up straight and brushed his hair back, the trembling of his shoulders coming in waves as he kept his transformation under control. "To be appreciated as such by our Lord and Master. Such happiness overtook me and I had to control my emotions."

"WILL. YOU. BE. HAVING. AN. ALBEDO. FIT. TOO?"

The demon sighed and followed their Master, "Hell forbid, I am one of the voices of reason under Lord Ainz and Lord Sammael. I cannot allow myself to go down that rabbit hole, not to mention Sebas might rub it in my face."

"INDEED. HE. WILL."

Arriving at the Throne Room with less fanfare as before, the Undead King walked with his back straight and looking as regal as before, his jet black robes fluttering behind him and the World Item showing proudly where his abdomen should have been. The Cardinal, the Apostle and the Heretic all bowed as they saw him approach, taking great care not to meet his eyes nor his face. All three of them were on their knees at least, as Lord Ainz reached the throne and sat himself on it.

'Are they waiting for-' the Overlord hmm'ed and said, "You may raise your heads and stand."

"Oh tha- thank you My Lord," Cardinal Dominic stood up and looked at him once more, "I believe you are not aware my Lord, but I have an innate talent called 'Ethereal Eyes'. As such, I am able to see an indication of your m-magical prowess."

"Oh? What do you see then?"

"My Lord, your power suffuses your very being. It shines wherever and whatever you touched," Dominic sighed as Nigun stayed silent through it all, "I can understand now why our best teams of God-kin cannot even stand up to you. It is truly enlightening."

"Hmm, you are different Cardinal. According to what I have learned of this world, is that the religion you are taught is quite intolerant of non-humans," the Overlord stood up and began to step down from his raised dais as the humans looked at him in surprise and alarm at his approach, "I wish to get your honest insights in a few other things Cardinal, walk with me."

Opening a [Gate] spell, he continued walking forward past the humans. Nigun and Erythro quickly followed behind the Undead King and the human Cardinal while Demiurge and Cocytus brought up the rear.

Passing through the dimensional rift, they were greeted with a crisp mid-day sun. Dominic's eyes widened, they just jumped from one place to another and it didn't even take much effort from the Overlord to cast such great magic. They were on a large sprawling garden and it seemed like it was the 'Stellarum Nex' at first, but Nigun somewhat calmed down after seeing they were surrounded by familiar walls. Yes, he could definitely recognize those walls and parapet design since they studied extensively the masonry design of all the neighboring kingdom and he could identify that this is E-Rantel, or rather the fortress inside the city.

But there was no garden before within the Fortress grounds itself, it was the home of the nobility and the home of the upper crust of society. So, it begs the question.

"Is this E-Rantel?"

Ainz did not answer, but chose to walk forward and head towards the gazebo that was recently constructed by the Magos in charge of construction. They seated themselves around the large table as servants brought forth refreshments. Orange juice was served with ice as each and everyone that was in the table was served, Cocytus stood outside of the gazebo as a sentry, while red-robed Skitarii was dispersed all around the walls and gates.

"Indeed Cardinal, this is the fortress city of E-Rantel-" Ainz took a drink of his juice and asked, "-now then, it seems you can carry on intelligent conversation now. I know the reason why you wish to see me as conveyed by my advisers, but I want to know the real 'reason' why do you wish to see me?"

Cardinal Dominic puts his glass down as he came down from the psychological high of tasting a certain beverage for the first time, he looks at the God in front of him and said, "My Lord, I wish to know what Nigun saw in you. If your power indeed surpasses what our world can and cannot do. If your being does defy all logic, if your power exceeds all perception, and if your presence encompasses all."

"Ho? And what had concluded you to say that I am a God?"

"My eyes had never failed me, as I have said before-" he bowed again as Demiurge tried to stifle a smile on his own face, "-your aura is overpowering. If you have not consciously suppress your powers, I believe no human could have even approached you from such a distance."

'Oh how right you are,' the Overlord gave a toothy grin, no pun intended, and said, "Umu, you are right. If I would not suppress at least my aura. I'm afraid it might kill you all."

"Again, I am thankful for your mercy, for only an unfathomable monster could have been so careless. But you take great care my Lord, and for that it makes you a God," Dominic smiled and bowed slightly, "My Lord, as I have promised to Nigun. I will assist in your ascension to prominence and would physically endeavor to your return. However, much of my colleagues do not tolerate the idea of sharing power. They would resist and I fear that could turn the Theocracy asunder."

"You speak to me as a great man, but you undeniably care about your fellow humans."

Nigun looked on as the Cardinal's face reddened a bit at the praise their Lord was giving them. He could not understand it, but Lord Ainz was different from Lord Sammael. It was clear as day, where as the Undead Lord was considerate and kind, his master although also kind was quite heavy-handed. But then again, he would not be called Warmaster for nothing right?

"Of course, many who hold high office fall to such trappings as power and hubris," the Cardinal finished his drink and puts the glass back on the table, "I endeavor not to be such a human. Instead, I always remember why I accepted being a Cardinal in the first place."

"Impressive, I must say that your words indeed impressed me," Ainz then looked at Demiurge knowingly and asked, "Could you give me your input on how you would support the Heretical movement of Nigun?"

Dominic's brow furrowed and after a moment of contemplation replied, "I may have a few ideas My Lord."

He discussed numerous scenarios and plans, while Ainz would look at Demiurge if there is a particular plan that he likes. The Archdemon kept his partial smile on his face and committed each and every word to memory. Who knows, maybe their Lord can actually use one or two of the scenarios that was outlined by the humans.

'A true Overlord indeed,' was his thoughts as he savored the moment of his master's plans coming to fruition in front of his diamond eyes.

Re-Estize City - Capital of the Re-Estize Kingdom

.

Gazef Stronoff sighed as he stood in front of a large ornate window overlooking the southern side of the Re-Estize Kingdom's castle grounds. He had contemplated the events that lead him finding the man that now stood beside him as they both waited for the most important person in the Kingdom. The double doors they were standing in front of finally opened and out stepped King Ramposa III, wearing his monarchical garments, a crown on his head and a staff on his hand, he gave a small nod in greeting to his Warrior-Captain as he walked purposely to the meeting area. After the failed ambush on his Warrior-Captain, then the purging of the traitorous members of the Noble Faction, and then the recent loss of E-Rantel.

Much has been going on through the minds of the King, though he is a wise and caring King, he is also human and the burden of age and rule has begun to weigh heavily on the monarch.

"Gazef, what is the heart of our soldiers?"

The Warrior-Captain sidled up to his monarch as they headed to the meeting room, "As expected, they respect and adore you my liege. Your care and love shines through the numerous reforms you are doing to the Kingdom, your Highness."

"You flatter me too much, though my last daughter deserves all the credit in the reforms that she has described to me," the King turned and headed to a flight of stairs going downwards, "Compared to her, I seemed like a simpleton at least."

"Surely not your Majesty," Gazef tried to console his king, "Your wise and decisive action shifted the power of the Kingdom from the Noble Faction, back to the Royal Family. Without your timely decision regarding Count Lytton and his apparent hand in the ambush at Carne Village, then we would have been severely weakened by such treachery."

"We are indeed very fortunate, that the magic caster you have encountered prevented such a disaster as your demise, this also makes clear that the attempt on you is a ploy to undermine the power of the Crown," the King reached the 1st floor and headed for a set of double doors where 2 guards stood at attention at the entrance, "As such, with one of the Nobles that is secretly working against us removed, one can elevate a new noble that would be our ally, at least for the moment."

The double doors swung forward held fast by the guards on station as Gazef and King Ranpossa III walked into the conference room. The King headed towards the head of the table, on a raised platform where a throne was placed for him. Five men sat around the table as the 6th seat was obviously vacant due to the absence of Count Lytton. The King straightened himself in front of the gathered men who all stood up at his entrance and sat back down as he waved at them to relax. From the King's right he counted off Marquis Raeven, a sharp eyed man that is secretly the leader of the Royal Faction, right beside him sat Marquis Pespea, the son-in-law of the King himself and lastly Marquis Urovana, the eldest member of the Noble Faction. On the other side of the table seated on the immediate left is Marquis Boullope, a scarred man from many battles and skirmishes from his youth and the leader of the Noble Faction, seated beside him is Marquis Blumrush, the wealthiest noble in the Re-Estize Kingdom and a staunch critic of the crown and his new policies.

"Gentlemen, I am glad you could make it to our meeting," King Ranpossa sets his walking stick on the side of the throne and sighed, "Though I regret to inform everyone of the demise of Count Lytton, which I am sure everyone is now aware of the reason of his execution."

"Indeed your Highness," it was Marquis Boullope, "Though I still do not understand how can a man like him, who is a well-known patriot could have betrayed our nation with the Theocracy. Might I mention that the Theocracy maintains the Temple of the Gods scattered about on our nation and has remained a powerful ally against all manner of threat against humanity. Why would they seek to undermine our influence whereas they actively assist, though in a covert manner, numerous nations against their beast problems."

"Have you not read the report Marquis Boullope?" it was the young noble, Marquis Pespea who questioned him, "Whether he acted alone or not, it is imperative we find whoever supported the notion of bringing down the power base of the King by assassinating his Warrior-Captain. Thus, it is safe to look for the person who greatly benefits the demise of Captain Stronoff, someone who truly gains the most from his death?"

"Are you implying there are other traitors in our midst?" it was Marquis Raeven who spoke, leering towards Pespea. His demeanor was that of a fox, but in reality the King knew that this man was a patriot and is very loyal to the Royal Faction who he secretly led.

"Of course," it was Marquis Urovana, "We all agree that the disgraced Lytton could not have acted alone, the plan is simply too ambitious for a single noble to benefit. And its effect could not have been predicted by only one person, it could have only been the work of a group of noble or-"

King Ranpossa looked at his old friend and sighed, "-or it could be the influence of a neighboring nation."

'The Slane Theocracy- it can only be them,' Gazef silently thought as his monarch seemed to reach the same conclusion.

"As it is, we cannot pinpoint the said 'nation' into confessing the hand that they have in this fiasco. What we can do now is continue to investigate this matter and address the other points we need to stabilize this agitation that we are currently experiencing."

Marquis Pespea took out a scroll and read it out loud, "Our recent loss of E-Rantel has hurt our prestige, not to mention a fortress city and the adjacent land that extends from E-Pesper towards the Katze Plains. Additionally, with the Sorcerer Kingdom being established, we do not seem to notice any recent demand by the Empire for the return of E-Rantel. Additionally, a large influx of people displaced by the occupation of our frontier city has complicated the food situation. Mainly, the branch family of most nobles that wished their relatives to live on the fringes are suddenly thrusts back to the capital, not only are our food supplies straining, the mood of the nobility, the middle class and the peasants are nearing breaking point."

"-not to mention the harvest moon is beginning."

"That is actually our biggest concern now, as you know the peasants are for once in full force to harvest the grain. With the threat of the Empire not looming above us, and the Sorcerer Kingdom now occupying E-Rantel, we can harvest the grain and not let the annual war have us go in the negative. Thus, we also save a whole lot by not purchasing any grain from the Argland States."

"Wonderful news at last, now what are our options that we could take about our lost territories?"

The King was silent and finally answered, "We would not take E-Rantel back."

"WHAT!?" it was Marquis Boullope that shouted, "How could we not restore our honor? Our prestige that this undead has taken from us? And you even call yourselves the King?"

"Silence Marquis, you shall not slander the King. It is not the time nor the place for blame," it was Marquis Urovana that interjected in the behalf of the King, "Rather, His Majesty is correct to strengthen our borders and yield E-Rantel in exchange for respite and in maintaining the integrity of the Kingdom and the lands within our boundaries."

"I agree with the King," Pespea nods his head in agreement.

Marquis Raven grinned like a fox and said, "I also agree with the King and Marquis Urovana however, in what way will we maintain this order and strength with the loss of our prestige with the Sorcerer Kingdom. Both paths have merits and one cannot function properly without the other, alas, we can only- in my own opinion to strengthen our power base so we can take back E-Rantel."

The leader of the Noble Faction rubbed his chin and nods his head, "Raven, you put forth a sound argument. Very well, we will postpone the war in favor of increasing and stabilizing our internal affairs. We would not push of the re-taking of E-Rantel until such time that we secure ourselves inside our borders."

"Thank you Marquis Boullope, the next on our agenda is regarding the Merchant's Guild appeal on the new application of trading merchants from the Theocracy and the Empire. They have sent products and the guild has approved of them all however, the sheer number of the items and merchants must be whittled down-"

"Do we have a list of the merchants at least?"

"We do have-"

The rest of the mid-day took the discussion on the numerous status of the merchants, if they would be allowed entry or not, if they would be allowed any tax exemptions, any special trade rights, any restrictions on the product that they peddle or that they are allowed to sell within the Kingdom.

.

"Well, what do you think Gazef of the recent meeting?"

"I believe it went well my Lord-"

"Warrior-Captain, you are with me and we are alone," the King sighed at that, "Be honest and tell me what your really thinking."

"It was bloody boring as hell my Lord-"

King Ranpossa III gave a small chuckle at Gazef's words as they reached the southern walkway leading to the other side of the castle. With the meeting of the nobles ending just before lunch, the King asked the Warrior-Captain to accompany him to a place that he usually goes in case he needs a little bit of counsel. They walked under the shadowed veranda as they watched the other members of the Noble Faction heading outwards to their own devices. They saw and observed Marquis Boullope was met by the 1st Prince Barbro together with Marquis Blumrush. Marquis Urovana headed back to his estate while Marquis Pespea expressed concern that he wanted to ensure that preparations for the autumn harvest would be finished as soon as possible.

The King and Gazef turned into a side entrance and came out of the south garden where a blonde haired woman was picking flowers into her basket while a young knight in silver armor stood not too far away.

As they approached, the young knight bowed low at the King as the older monarch called forth for his youngest child.

Her smile could launch a thousand ships as the old King felt reluctant to even give her away in marriage, "Ah, my sweet daughter. How are you today?"

"I am very much fine father, I take it your meeting with the nobles have not gone well?"

"Why would you say that?" he accepted a small garland of rose that his daughter made and effortlessly pinned at his left chest pocket, "Must I always find an excuse to see my most precious child?"

"Isn't elder brother Barbro your most precious child considering he is the Crown Prince and all?"

Ranpossa sighed at that, "Well, he is a man after all. He can take care of himself, but you my child is different. By the way, your legislation on slavery wants to be copied by a member of the Argland State Republic. Would you consent at that?"

The Golden Princess nods her head, "Of course father, if it advances my advocacy to abolish slavery, then by all means. But truly now, what seems to be bothering you?"

"Nothing much my child, I truly hope though that I can pass on the reigns of rule to your brothers and have them give you a rather comfortable life."

"Well, I also hope that the undead does not march to our capital if that is what you are thinking of."

Both Gazef and the King stopped in their tracks, shocked that the princess was even aware of what is happening right now. They both thought that she was sheltered enough from the outside that she wouldn't know about their recent loss of territory.

"Ho-how did you know about that my child?"

"Father, people are known to gossip. Additionally, I do receive regular visits from Lady Lakyus."

The King sighed and seemed to accept her explanation, "I see, then what are your thoughts of our current situation then?"

"I do hope that you can keep the other nobles in check father, I believe it is important that we do not antagonize the Sorcerer Kingdom considering the swiftness upon which they dealt with the soldiers at E-Rantel," the Princess gave a small smile as she led them towards her tea room, "Judging by the reports made by the Warrior-Captain, it is simply terrifying to encounter such an entity. Not to mention having 2 of them that wield such power, we are quite caught by surprise at this."

Gazef and the King looked at each other at the sharpness that the Golden Princess has displayed. Not once, but twice did she stressed out that they should avoid a direct confrontation with the Sorcerer Kingdom. The power of that Kingdom can only be surmised as much at they can take an entire fortress city in one day. Driving out not just the soldiers, but sparing much of the citizenry and allowing them safe passage too. The discipline of their soldiers, the willingness to die, the instruments of war that they brought with them, it seemed like a mythical army descended at them from the sky.

King Ranpossa III gave a small laugh as he took his seat while maids brought forth tea and biscuits, "My, my... to think I look for council at my youngest daughter. What kind of father am I?"

The rest of them gave a laugh at the King's statement as Renner kept the sweet smile on her lips.

'Truly how low can you get old man.'

.

The Crown Prince and Marquis Boullope stepped out of the carriage as they arrived at this non-descriptive mansion near the borders of the Capital. As they alighted, a robed servant came rushing outside as it bowed at them in greeting.

"Crown Prince Barbro with Marquis Boullupe, Lady Hilma bids you welcome."

"Is she inside?"

"Regretfully, she has stepped out to ensure the preparations for a grand ball for the nobles will be a success, as such she is quite busy right now and will be unable to attend to you," the servant smiled and gestured to a row of women standing in attendance at a side entrance, "However, she has ensured that you both would be taken care of during your visit."

"Ah yes, she did mention before that she is planning a ball about welcoming the far-flung nobles currently driven into the city," the Marquis sighed at that and was led to their customary room. With an overlooking view of the city and an open terrace, with their guards positioned on the 2nd floor to ensure security, this was their customary room when they visit this brothel house managed by Hilma, "We require wine, but no women at the moment yet. Maybe later."

"Of course Marquis," the robed servant clapped his hands and slaves began serving wine, fruit, and sweet bread. He walked over to the line of women, whispered something on their ear and walked out of the room.

The Marquis sat on a cushioned chair with the Crown Prince sitting across from him, they nursed their particular wine goblets as Barbro finally broke the silence and grunted, "So, they chose not to go ahead with the plan to retake E-Rantel?"

"It was decided by your father, supported by both Urovana and Pespea-" the older man took a sip of his wine and sighed, "-and further supported by Raven. They brought forth arguments that would certainly not stand against anything that we can come up with. Their arguments are sound enough to even convince Raven to agree with them."

"That man is a swine," Barbro gulped the rest of his wine and signaled for more, "He's nothing more than a coward, a fox, and a traitor. When I become King, I will do everything in my power to bring that man down."

Bullopea smiled at that, yes, this was the man that he supported from day 1, "He is indeed one my Prince, but he is also a very powerful swine, a rich coward, and a very shrewd fox. Most people forget that his influence is quite formidable and he is known for being extremely well connected."

"I know Marquis, its just that my father is showing a side of the monarchy that is weak. Whereas we should show the power of the Crown and the Nobility by retaking our lost city, yet here we are, cowering in the Capital."

"You know, Marquis Raven had some sound arguments about postponing the campaign."

"Bah! Raven is a coward, a sly fox bent on expanding his power base among the nobles," Barbro took a swig of his wine goblet and waved at a nearby servant for more, "Though his house troops are quite formidable in their numbers, he is a cunning fox that we need to be wary of."

"Be that as it may, he still has the ears of the King. He also has the support of the other nobles from our faction, they see him as wise, cunning and a shrewd gentleman."

"Two things Marquis, we need at least 2 things to happen," the Crown Prince made a point of his fingers going 'V', "One, we must control the Crown. Two, we must get the full support of at least half of the members of the Noble Faction."

The Marquis sighed at that, "Alas, with the loss of Count Lytton we lose half of our voting power within the faction. As we know, Urovana and Pespea are the King's man through and through, but Marquis Raven would not go through with any of our plan unless he is satisfied with the terms."

"That is why I told you we cannot do anything unless I am King."

"My Prince, the only way for you to be King right now is if the King would be incapable of ruling in anyway," Marquis Boullope almost whispered, "It will be akin to treason for me to speak of such things, but that is the only way I can see for you to restore the honor, prestige and power of the both the Royal Family and the Nobility."

Crown Prince Barbro cleared his throat and it seemed to dispel the momentary loss of words, "I do not wish my father harm, for no child would wish to harm their parent. But then again, I must prepare myself for such a contingency."

The Marquis and Crown Prince put their cups of wine together and raised a toast, unbeknownst to them, on the far side of the room where they were discussing their plans. A streak of shadow seemed to shake and wiggle for but a few moment, then finally it stilled and it remained a shadow once more.

.

To be continued... into the next chapter.

.

Sebas stood in attention as a five large carriage pulled by Sleipnirs arrived at the large sprawling ground, with the official cover of Solution being a daughter of a distant noble from a different nation. It was easily established that her father's supposed acquaintance is the merchant Samuel. Thus, they have made the decision that the operation of the Sorcerer Kingdom would start with the cover made by the agents of Nazarick.

Zadicus stepped out of the carriage and walked towards the butler, they met face to face as the Angel puts his right hand forward and was clasped in a firm handshake by the Dragonkin.

"Welcome to E-Rantel, my mistress waits for you."

"I am glad to be here," Zadicus together with Arche greeted the butler as they were gestured inside, "My master has a letter for the Mistress."

"I shall let you meet with her at once then," he then walked forward as the two travelling merchant followed him inside.

Arche rubbed the sleep from her eyes as she followed Sir Zadicus inside, the servitors they brought with them hurriedly put their things away as hurriedly went upstairs to the 2nd floor study. She saw that the mansion was quite spacious and was as large as one of their villas in the summer back when they were still nobles. The architecture of the house was of the Kingdom's design and seemed fairly new as the furniture looked well-maintained. They finally reached the 2nd floor study and was led in front of a beautiful blonde haired woman. She was using her 'All-Seeing Eyes' and found that no amount of magic seemed to dwell on anybody here as well, the same way Lord Samuel and all his inner circle seemed to be in her eyes.

Waving it out of her mind, she heard Sebas make the introduction and quickly stepped out of the room saying that he would need to attend to the servitors and their rooms. He would also need to prepare breakfast since they just arrived early in the morning, before he could go though Zadicus made her go with him so that he could discuss business with the Mistress of the house.

As soon as they were gone, Zadkiel cracked his neck and gestured to the door. Locking it and casting a silence spell, he took a seat in front of Solution and gives the letter to her. Taking it from his hand, she opened it quickly and found the objective sought to her by the Warmaster.

"Master Zadkiel, we would need to meet with the nobles so that we may be able to proliferate your wares into the Re-Estize Kingdom."

"Have you planned a ball yet?"

It was Solution's turn to produce a piece of paper and said, "This is an invitation for a ball within the Re-Estize Kingdom. It seems Lord Sammael was not aware of this since we just recently sent a copy of this as part of our report on our reconnaissance work here."

This is perfect, though we may need to make a house call on this-" he looked intensely at the invitation and raised his eyes, "-this Hilma Cygnaeus, so that we may be properly introduced. Have you made a portfolio already?"

Solution produced a notebook and gave it to Zadkiel who quickly scanned it with a critical eye, "This is excellent, who would have thought that we will have such a solid contact into the Kingdom like this."

"I fail to understand such, should we not just bend them to the will of the Supreme Beings?"

Zadkiel smiled at that, like all servants they have an overriding need to do well and serve everything to their Lords. However, Lord Sammael taught them that that is not always the case. Sometimes, it is the means that you subjugate the enemy upon which you are looked to after.

'That could be the reason why the Undying Lord allowed us to collaborate with them, but this is a good chance indeed.'

"We just need to be acquianted with them, it is fairly easy to sway this woman's heart."

There was a dangerous glint on Solution's eyes as she nods her head, "Indeed, such evil on her heart could only make her will less so."

"Send word to her mansion that we will come after the mid-day for the banquet. Hopefully, we can come to terms with her within the day. I will also send word to the Astronomican of our initial plans."

(A/N: And... here I GO AGAIN!)

AND I'M BACK!

Chapter 5 had a catastrophic outcome. I thought I saved the changes and sad to say it wasn't even close to being saved.

I really do apologize for that. Maybe next chapter I can get around to updating it.

Cheers,
