When thinking about where to start chapter 12, I realized there were certain events that I wanted to cover but would not fit in with the plot I have in mind for the chapter. So I decided to cover them with an "intermission". Basically for stuff that happens in between arcs or whenever. While important to the overall story, I felt more comfortable calling it an intermission rather than an actual chapter. This way, I can also skip over certain cannon events that we know will happen e.g. here, Asia moving in with Issei will be mentioned, though not really elaborated on.

FYI it basically took me 2 weeks to write this, even as my Summer classes ended while getting ready for the Fall semester.

Plus, with this out of the way I can focus on my other stories easier.

I do not own the Kamen Rider franchise or High School DXD.

Things such as chants and data on the magic rings were obtained through Kamen Rider wiki, High school DXD wiki, and English translations of High School DxD volumes 1-20. I do however claim ownership to original spell and transformation rings as well as original techniques.

Intermission 1: Familiars and Plans

At the Hyoudou Household…

"Can we talk for a moment?" These words made Issei look up from the TV towards the speaker Kalawarner.

"Sure." He responded, turning the TV off and patting the seat next to him indicating she should sit there. After she sat down, she was silent for a moment. "Is everything ok?" Issei asked his voice full of genuine concern.

"Make me your familiar." She said abruptly, interrupting his questions. Before he could even respond, she continued. "After talking with Raynare about our current situation, we have agreed that going back to the Grigori would be a bad idea. One of the higher ups was definitely working with Dohnaseek and Mittlet so they would have no trouble getting rid of us. While I have no place to go, Raynare has you and can stay here as your Familiar despite being a Fallen Angel in Devil territory." She held up her hand to stop him from interrupting. "Even if you talk to the Gremory girl, there would still be restrictions placed on me and they would probably be equivalent to house arrest. By becoming your Familiar, not only do I get special privileges but also more strength do defend myself in case more of those Ghouls come after me." With her piece said she put her hand down, indicating that he could speak.

Issei remained silent for a while, looking the blue haired Fallen Angel straight in the eye. While she did not look away, she was sweating on the inside. Just when she thought she would loose focus, he spoke.

"Did Raynare tell you everything about the contract?" He asked seriously.

"Yes." Kalawarner responded managing to keep eye contact.

"So you know about the benefits and the summoning."

"Yes."

"And the side effects."

"I'm fine with being knocked out for a bit."

"And you do realize that there is a lot not know about making you my familiar?"

"If I'm going to be stuck in a devil's territory then I might as well entertain myself in some way." She shrugged.

"Fine." Issei sighed. "I see no real reason to say no after all the arguments you made. Plus I'd rather avoid and politics or bullshit like that. I wouldn't be surprised if the devils themselves were the ones who invented bureaucracy." Kalawarner did not say anything in response knowing that it was a rather inflammatory topic between many supernatural species so she just nodded her head while Issei grabbed the box containing the Contract and Familiar Rings (Connect; Please!). "Let's get started."

Contract; Please!

Familiar; Please!

"Do you, Fallen Angel Kalawarner, accept this contract of familiars where you shall be summoned by your ring and receive my magic so long as you wear it until you choose to no longer serve me?"

"I do."

Once the ceremony was completed, Kalawarner's ring became one with a pair of black wings with a "K" in between them.

"And we're done." Issei smiled putting away the rest of the rings. However, before he could store the box away, Kalawarner leaned forward and gave him a soft kiss on the lips. No tongue, just lip to lip contact. "Wha…wha…" Issei stuttered.

"Since I have yet to suffer side effects this kiss counts more than the one Raynare gave you." The blue haired woman said with a grin before getting off the couch and leaving the room. Issei was still in a daze for a minute, snapping out of it when he heard the doorbell ring. When he went to open it, he did not know what to make of what he say.

"Rias, what are you and Asia doing here with all these boxes?"

Meanwhile at the Japan NSA Section 0 Headquarters in Tokyo…

"I see." Spoke a spectacled man with neatly combed hair as he put the report he just finished reading down on the desk he was sitting at.

"That's everything Issei told me sir. Everything the unknown Phantom calling himself Hitman said to him." Rinko reported as she stood at attention in front of him.

"So not only did Fueki have two associates who helped him in his research, they have their own power that is at least equal to his and they conducted their own Sabbath at the same time."

"That is correct Agent Kanzaki." There was a pause as Rinko watched his boss push his glasses up and look over screen of his laptop on which the file on Fueki was open. With a sigh he turned his chair around so that he was facing towards the office window and away from Rinko.

"Looks like we have no choice but to contact the other agencies." He spoke. "Inform the appropriate people that we need information on anyone who has not been seen since the day of the Sabbath or those who were temporarily absent that night. Be sure to mention to check prisons and asylums."

"Yes, Kanzaki."

Meanwhile, at an unknown location…

A figure, hidden by the shadows of the large expensive curtains behind him, sat at his own desk. Standing to the side was Hitman, his features concealed by the darkness of the room as the he waited for the man to speak. After several minutes, the mysterious man lifted his arm as the skin on his hand broke open, revealing the albino snake as it crawled out of him and landed on the floor before slithering away.

"Good job on securing the information." The seated man said flexing his hand a bit before taking hold of some files on the desk. As he held them up to read, he briefly eyed the certificate on the wall next to Hitman proclaiming him to be a fully certified lawyer. As such he will now be referred to as Lawyer.

"While the student remains here, we'll start moving with operation 'Revive and Collect'." As he spoke he tossed the file to Hitman who caught it so fast his arm movement could barely be seen. "Give that to Echidna and Ifrit. They'll need all that to travel properly."

"They won't like having to pretend to be humans and take the slow way of travelling." Hitman chuckled.

"Then they will just have to deal with it." Lawyer said sternly. "We need them to keep a low profile as much as possible."

"We will need to make special arrangements for certain locations."

"That can be dealt with at a later time. What is the status of Learnean?"

"Still recovering. Lamia is taking care of him."

"That's good to hear." Lawyer leaned back a bit. "Now that we have our long term plans out of the way, anything immediate that needs my attention?"

"A few things." Hitman produced some files of his own. He tossed one right at Lawyer while the rest landed on the deck. "We've identified a few more Gates. We're sitting on the others but that one is ready for picking."

"I see." Lawyer looked through the dossier before placing it on his desk. The only thing visible was a young woman with brown hair and twin braids. "I do believe the Phantom you have recommended is a good fit for the job."

"Thank you sir." Hitman said with a hint of satisfaction in his voice before disappearing from the room. Lawyer merely turned around so he was facing the curtain as he leaned back in his expensive chair.

"You can't get a man with a gun, but you can still shoot with it very well."

Okay.

Whoever manages to guess the identity of the Gate first will get their own OC as a Gate in the future. First one to correctly guess the Phantom will get their own OC Phantom. And if you manage to guess both correctly before anyone else, your OC will be part of a major group of Phantoms that will play an important role in this huge arc that will definitely happen in the future.

Another reason I wrote this was to get myself to start seriously thinking about the major villains and their appearances. I know I did not actually

With this I would like to announce a new poll. Should Gabriel reveal her true identity to Issei now, or before the meeting with the three factions? One thing that won't change is that she will be the one to give Issei Ascalon, not Michael. I have something special planned for their first meeting.

Heads up, the next arc will only be 2 chapters long, 3 if I end up expanding the plot again.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION! My progress on writing fanfiction will be significantly slowed down this semester. My major is Creative Writing so I need to take the appropriate classes which for the current semester is Intro to Creative Writing Fiction and Poetry. However, in order to take the higher level classes, I need to submit a portfolio. It has to be two short stories with a maximum 20 pages in total length. I can try a few times, but I would rather only have to do one submission so I can get started on the classes as soon as possible. So I need to focus as much time and energy on that as possible.

That's it for now. Please Favorite, Follow, and Review. But most of all, thank you for reading!
