Edited January 15, 2019. Changed the AN to reflect my new and cheaper prices
Hello.
This chapter was brought to you by my pa_tr_eo_n. To find me, just search for Composcreator on the site or enter pa_tr_eo_ slash Composcreator. Just get rid of the underscore and put an actual period. The ff site won't let me type up the whole word or URL.
None of my works will be hidden behind a paywall, rather this is to let you all decide which story you want to see updated sooner and motivate me to do so. I know that I will work harder and be more motivated to write knowing that you paid to vote for that story.
It's only $1 to vote on what story of mine you want to see more of. Once I know I have a large enough base, I will add a second tier.
For $4, you will be able to vote whether or not you want me to start a new idea that I have or if you want me to focus on what I already have. Note, that poll will have MY ideas on it, and those who pay for Tier 2 can decide if they want to see one of them get written and posted or if they would rather focus on current stuff. New stories will be added to the Tier 1 poll if it is popular enough or I like it enough, or I might keep it on the Tier 2 poll. I don't know yet; I'll take it case by case. Eventually there will be a Tier 3 but I'll talk about that later.
Originally I wanted to finish the entire Kendo storyline, but I set a deadline for myself and rather than extend it and take even longer, possibly going all the way to July, I decided to cut it short. I'm taking summer classes right now, so it's a bit hard to be writing, especially since it is a writing class itself, one with lots of workshopping. Plus, there is actually going to be a publisher who is a colleague of the professor who will be coming to talk with us. Basically, I need to focus for my future.
In return, however, the next chapter will be longer than before and actually have back-story on Murayama and Issei. Plus, I've even throw in a Yuri Lemon! At the same time, I added a section here about why Phantoms have to actually be present for a Gate to fall to despair. I mean, no offense to the Gates of the original show, but there are definitely people out there who experience hell worse than that every day of their lives, who live in despair. Plus, if they really wanted to, there were moments where the Phantoms did not need to be physically present. So I decided to explain that.
In return, once classes end for the summer, in early July, I will expand upon my part_eo_n, adding other tiers that will allow you to vote on new ideas I have, stuff you want me to do specifically, and commissions!
I do not own the Kamen Rider franchise or High School DXD.
Things such as chants and data on the magic rings were obtained through Kamen Rider wiki, High school DXD wiki, and English translations of High School DxD volumes 1-22. I do however claim ownership to original spell and transformation rings as well as original techniques.

Chapter 13: Girls and Kendo part 1
"I'm glad to see you making progress Issei." Sona said as she looked over some papers. She had just finished grading the first set of Issei's make up tests. As promised, she created them herself with just the right level of difficulty that Issei would still pass so long as he actually studied. In the 2 weeks that followed the Annie Phantom, Issei managed to cram in enough time on catch up studying while also keeping up with the current class material, albeit the obvious gaps caused by his absence. Not to mention his regular morning jog, patrols of Kuoh, and nightly jobs as a devil. Had he still been human it would have been stressful, so being a devil helped, not to mention Asia healing whenever he burned himself out.
"It was a good test." Issei said as he examined the chessboard that stood at the corner of the room. "Felt like it was written by an actual teacher." He gave her a bit of a glance. "You ever considered giving up the heiress life to teach?" Sona merely raised an eyebrow while Tsubaki glanced between the two, a fraction of a smirk on her face.
"Perhaps." Sona replied, her face as straight as always. "I see you've taken an interest in my chessboard. Do you play?"
"Nope. My sensei got me interested in it, but we spent a lot of time getting my physical stats up. Besides, this looks like one of those custom sets and considering the way the devil peerage system is based on the game I find myself drawn to it a bit."
"Understandable." Sona nodded. "By the way, what are the plans for the Fallen you have bounded to you?"
"Their names are Raynare and Kalawarner." Issei lightly chastised her. "And by plans, do you mean day to day stuff? In which case I don't really have any plans. They seem to be getting used to living with me and Asia first."
"I didn't realize it would take this long."
"Apparently they're used to moving every month so having an actual permanent residence is a big adjustment for them."
"Interesting." Sona mused. "I suppose that's a difference in MO between us and the Grigori." She made a few notes on her document. "From my understanding, there are those who stay at their research facilities and bases while the others are scouts. Seems like those 2 were the latter."
"They said something similar." Issei replied stifling a small yawn. At the same time, he moved one of the white pawns on the board. "Anyway, I should probably get going."
"Well," Sona replied turning to him. "I suppose I'll see you-" Before she could continue as the door to the Council room was burst open by a boy with dirty dark blonde hair.
"President! We've got a problem!" He cried out. He then took stock of the room, realizing that Issei was there, his expression becoming a mix of confusion and anger.
"You were saying Saji?" Sona spoke up reminding the boy.
"Oh right." He shook his head to get himself back on track. "Some girl showed up and challenged the entire Kendo team!"
"How is that a problem?"
"She's taking things too far! Some of the juniors managed to get out and call for help, but kept on talking about some strange stone creatures getting in the way!"
At the mention of the stone guardians, Sona's and Tsubaki's eyes widened in recognition and realization. They turned to Issei only to see him already jumping down from an open window.
"Would using the stairs really be that hard?" Sona sighed before dashing out the door, her VP right behind her. It took a few moments for Saji to register what happened before following.
By the time they arrived, Issei was down to the last Ghoul who was using a claymore instead of the normal spear. The wizard easily sidestepped the swings and countered with bullets to the face. As it started to dissolve, Rias and the rest of the ORC arrived.
"We heard the screams from the clubroom!" She quickly explained, following Issei as he charged in with the rest right behind. The sight that greeted them was not a pretty one.
Sprawled across the floor were the members of the Kendo team, all of them beaten quite badly and holding their arms, shoulders, or wrists in pain. Some were even gripping their legs. Then, standing there in the center of the room still fighting off the last few members with ease was the mysterious attacker. However, they had no idea who she was. Not only was her uniform lacking any distinctive features, she was wearing a kendo helmet completely hiding her face. Soon after Issei and co. entered, she struck the wrists of the three members attacking her, the strikes creating a sickening CRUNCH.
"That was easy." The kendo girl said in a smug voice before turning to the last three members, Murayama, Katase, and a third year with green hair and a decent bust. "All that's left is you my dear Gate."
"Get back Tsubame!" Murayama shouted as she picked up a shinai.
"That's adorable." The attacker scoffed raising her own weapon. "Though I suppose that being extra certain you can't compete can't hurt."
However, before she could attack Issei tackled her to the ground. He tried to grab her helmet, only to get struck on the hand. The strike was so powerful he actually gripping his wrist and was immediately struck on the head making him fall back. The girl sprung to her feet ready to attack again, but was intercepted by Kiba with his own shinai. The blonde boy parried her attacks, allowing Issei time to grab one from the floor and join the attack. She was barely able to fend off the both of them, and they knew it. However, before they could press the advantage, she threw something onto the ground creating smoke that filled the entire room. By the time it cleared up, she was gone.
Half an hour later, the ORC as well as the three members of the STC were gathered in the council room with the three surviving members of the Kendo club. Rias and Sona had just finished explaining the concepts of Ghouls and Gates and that the girl had to be a Phantom since the Ghouls were supporting her. Not to mention her comment. In that time, Issei was introduced to the upperclassman, Tsubame Shiratori. She joined the Kendo club as a freshman and became a regular during her second year.
"What's concerning," Sona added, now that the basics were covered, "is the damage the Phantom did to the other members of the club."
"All of them had their wrists and knees damaged." Tsubaki picked up, looking at the printout before her. "There is even the chance that their bones were broken, but we won't know until the hospital gets back to us. However, none of them will be able to compete in the tournament this evening."
"There has to be a way!" Murayama cried out. Tsubame was starting to tear up while Katase was consoling her. "Sempai is moving soon and will have to transfer schools, so she won't be able to compete in any tournaments for the rest of the year! Tonight's tournament is her last chance!"
"I am sorry to hear that." Sona sighed. "However, the school cannot allow the other members to compete after being attacked and receiving those level of injuries."
"This definitely confirms that she's the Gate." Issei added, getting everyone's attention. "Kendo tournaments require a team of 5, so the Phantom must have been targeting them for that reason."
"Isn't there anything you can do!" Murayama cried out at Issei. "Don't you have some magic that could heal them and put them in condition to fight?"
Her words made Issei take another look at his options. The only spell he had for healing was 'First Aid' but that was only good for emergencies to keep someone from dying, not some cure all. They did actually consider having Asia fix user her Sacred Gear, but there were too many complications. For one thing, by the time they got around to that paramedics had already arrived. Not to mention it was too risky. Apparently there was a possibility of messing things up if the bones weren't set correctly, so it was better to keep that from happening.
"So right now," Issei spoke aloud. "What we need is 2 more members who can act as substitutes for the competition."
"Well Issei and I could do it." Kiba said aloud. "If only we were girls." He sighed.
"Not using!" Issei said in a panicky voice. "I don't wanna use that spell!" It took him a while to realize he said that aloud, making everyone look him like he said something strange. "Nope!" He cried out backing up with his hands held up. "Nope!"
"Issei." Rias said in a warning tone, one that seemed to cause something inside Issei to react and pressure him to submit. Before a conflict could happen, someone else intervened.
"Issei, if there's a way you can save her then you need to use it!" Asia exclaimed, her hands clasped in front of her like she was in prayer, her eyes full of expectations and hope. He really did try to resist, but he had to relent. Disappointing that face would hurt more than disobeying Rias.
"Step back." He said with a sigh. "And someone call the house and tell them what's happening afterwards." With that, he opened a portal, (Connect; Please!) and pulled out a box that was closed tight with multiple locks, getting questioning looks and raised eyebrows from everyone.
"I want everyone to understand," he began as he started entering the combinations for the first lock. "Whatever I do after this, it's not really me, but an inner persona that usually locked up."
"Trying to avoid responsibility?" Murayama growled.
"No!" The first lock was off and he was now on the second one. "I'm saying that I will have no control or memory of what happens under the affects of this spell." Only one lock left. "Look just," he sighed, "just be ready. I only used this once before and it was enough for me and sensei to decide that it needs to be sealed away."
With that, he finally opened the box and everyone looked at whatever angle they could to see it. Inside was a spell ring with a dragon head looking up at the signs for male and female. They were lucky it was that simple for they could not take another look as the ring literally jumped out of the box making them fall backwards in surprise. Issei was the only one still standing, though it looked more like he was trying to dodge the ring.
"Just calm down." He said, actually speaking to it as he jumped out of its path to the side. "Can we talk about this!" He ducked. "Seriously, this is ridiculous!" The ring hit his legs with such force he actually stumbled allowing it the opening to bounce off the ground and onto his right hand, then forced it to the belt causing it to be scanned.
Gender Bender; Please!
There was a flash of red light and the next thing everyone knew Issei was gone. In his place was a teenage girl with his hair style, a medium sized bust and ass, dressed all in black leather.
"It's about fucking time." She growled jumping to her feet and patting herself down. "Nearly 6 months since I had my first breath of fresh air and you decide that's too much?! Well fuck you too you virgin piece of shit!" She yelled holding up the finger to the ceiling.
"Um…" Kiba spoke up. "Are you all right Issei?" The girl looked at him like he was crazy, then slapped him so hard his whole body spun around.
"This shit right here is why I'm not interested in dicks." She said with some disgust in her voice. "I aint Issei you idiots. I'm his inner feelings and thoughts, all usually trapped by the need to 'behave', given physical form and voice."
"Does that mean…" Sona started, slight fear in her voice.
"Do I have all his repressed sexual desires and impulses in me? Yes it does." This she answered with a smug expression. Her answer made all the girls cringe slightly as they remembered how Issei behaved before his disappearance, and factored in this girl's apparent dislike for men. If anything she would definitely be worse than Issei, using her gender to her advantage. They really should have taken his warning more seriously.
"Right." She continued, stretching her limbs a bit. "Last I checked, I've got at least 24 hours to have fun, but we still need to deal with the Phantom. When's this tournament again?"
"Umm…" Murayama stuttered. "Like 2 hours before it starts off. But we need to be there half an hour before that."
"So I'll cast the spell on blondie over there at the time." She mused. "In that case, Asia!" she pointed at the nun making her jump in surprise. "Call the house, tell them what happened and let them know I'll be stopping by the house for a few stuff."
"Umm…" Asia stuttered. "What name should I give them?"
The girl smirked.
"Call me Echi." She started walking out of the room. "Echi Hyoudou."
When she left the room, everyone was stunned silent, except for Kiba who was rubbing his sore cheek.
"Now I get why Issei was trying to warn us." Sona sighed as she massaged her temples.
"Really makes you wonder what happened when Issei used that spell for the first time." Akeno chuckled. "Especially since he was in America at the time."
The idea made everyone sans Asia pause for a moment, before all the girls shivered in absolute fear. As long as Echi was around, they were not safe. It actually made the devils feel sorry for the Fallen Angel Familiars. Only a little bit though. Part of them suspected they would actually enjoy what might happen.
Meanwhile…
"So you decided to run." The Lawyer confirmed, sitting behind his desk looking out the window over several buildings.
"Didn't really have a choice." Sitting on a couch across from his desk was the same girl who attacked the Kendo club this morning. Though she wasn't wearing her mask anymore, the shadows kept her features concealed. "The wiz kid attacked me, and those devils were there as well. I'm not going to risk destruction for the sake of one Gate."
"Fair enough." The Lawyer conceded.
"Besides," she added in a smug tone. "I incapacitated most of their members. With only three, there's no way they can compete."
"And I do applaud you for showing such self-control." He said with a few genuine claps. "Unnecessary blood on our hands accomplishes nothing. In fact, it would be extremely detrimental. It could be seen as an act of violence or worst a terrorist attack. Either way, it would bring unwanted attention upon yourself and your cover, not to mention the increased efforts against our kind." As he said this, his left hand moved towards the very edge of the desk very discretely, allowing a small snake to slither into his pinky. "However, there is still the chance that the Gate won't become a Phantom."
"What do you mean?" She asked, holding up the file with Tsubame name and picture on it. "We determined that if the team can't participate in this tournament because of her, she would fall into despair."
"Yes. We did." He agreed. "Unfortunately, merely bringing a Gate to despair is not enough. There is actually a need for the presence of a Phantom in order for a new one to be born."
"I don't follow."
"The original ritual used to create us, the Sabbath, worked by bathing the Gates in magic then forcing them into despair." He elaborated. "That's because it works by darkening the magic potential buried in Gates, twisting it into a manifestation of Phantoms." As he said this he allowed a dark purple aura to leave his body. It was so dense the entire window was blocked. "Which is why," he continued dropping the magic and allowing the room to return to normal, "a Phantom must be present when a Gate falls. Our natural aura is enough to cause a reaction with their despair and begin the birth of a new comrade. After all, look at how twisted the human world is." He spun a small globe that sat on the desk. "Every day, every hour, every minute, lives are ruined, families destroyed, and dreams crushed, with untold numbers practically living in despair. Yet, even those who are Gates and suffer such fates do not fall. However," the sound of a pen crackling as it was bent could be heard, "because it is just one Phantom causing the reaction as opposed to being bathed in dark magic, the process is slow, which is why those ringed magicians are able to fight back and even destroy the Inner Phantoms."
"I-I see now." She gulped. "I should have realized that I still needed to be there." She began wringing her hands in frustration. "But what am I supposed to do now! There's no way they'll be able to participate. I've already missed the fall."
"Well consider this you're lucky day." The snake burst out of his hand and hissed at the girl on the couch. "Turns out the Wizard and his friends have created a light of hope for our dear Gate."
"You mean-?"
"Yes, they'll be at the competition. In fact," the grin on his face could be heard, "our little friend is in place to get their expectations up high. Which will make her fall all the sweeter."
"And I will be there to stoke the flames of despair."
Okay.
This episode's Gate is from Kurogane by Ikezawa Haruto.
