In Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh...
Driscoll finally returned to the United States, arriving at the University of Pennsylvania. Driscoll tries to go unnoticed, and tries to enter the place, but sees that there is now more security, identification is required. Thinking of a way to fix it, he goes to look for Ann, at his workplace, he waits patiently, then Ann leaves.
Ann Darrow: "Thank you, see you later."
Driscoll is happy to see her again, but her happiness runs out when he tries to get closer to her, as he discovers that he now has another partner, a guy named Bruce Baxter. This discourages Driscoll a bit, but he doesn't give up.
In the evening...
Driscoll goes to the pizzeria of an old friend of his, a war veteran named Hank Marlow, he can't believe it, he was left for dead.
Jack Driscoll: "Hank, I swear...everything you've heard about me, it's not true."
Hank Marlow: "I know, I knew all along, you know how I feel about both of you."
Driscoll lowers his head.
Hank Marlow: "Did you talk to her?"
Jack Driscoll: "No, she doesn't even know I'm here...does she have a boyfriend?"
Hank Marlow: "Yeah, a stage actor... they say he's the best, good boy."
Jack Driscoll: "I understand."
Hank Marlow: "Jack, how can I help you?"
Jack Driscoll: "Can I stay here for a few days?"
Hank Marlow: "Of course, you'll be fine in the upstairs room."
Jack Driscoll: "Thanks, really...and...there's one other thing."
The next day...
Hank gives Driscoll a job as a pizza delivery man, although it is only momentary, since it helps him to enter the university easily, when he leaves with the security guard.
Jack Driscoll: "This is for the fifth."
The guard is...
Luke Hobbs: "I don't think there's anyone up there."
Jack Driscoll: "Come on strong man, I'll be bad if I don't get paid, at least let me take a look, besides... I have one left over... and at no cost."
Hobbs inspects the pizza and lets him through.
Jack Driscoll: "You saved me, big guy."
Luke Hobbs: "Don't worry, mate."
Driscoll passes, Hobbs enjoys the pizza.
Luke Hobbs: "Great."
Once upstairs, Driscoll is careful as he walks past the computers, bringing back memories of the incident in the lab. A guy named Kurt lets him use a computer in exchange for a pizza. Since they are public computers, Driscoll logs in with someone else's account.
Jack Driscoll: "Dr. Ann Darrow."
He then writes the possible key from him, it works.
Jack Driscoll: "Yes."
He searches through the files for the project name.
Jack Driscoll: "Kaiju."
When giving search... nothing is found, this puzzles Driscoll.
Jack Driscoll: "Let's see, Jack Driscoll."
He doesn't get anything, he senses that they erased everything. So he contacts Mr. Reptile again, the only thing that can relieve him is that he answers him.
Mr. Reptile: "Mr. Monkey, hello...how's the search for him going?"
Mr. Monkey: "The information disappeared."
Mr. Reptile: "I won't be able to help you without the information".
Driscoll is frustrated.
Mr. Reptile: "What are you going to do?"
Mr. Monkey: "I've got to keep moving."
