Driscoll packs his things and is ready to go, he takes one last look in the mirror... wondering how he's going to manage. Then some customers walk into Hank's place.

Ann Darrow: "Hi, Hank."

They are Ann and Bruce,

Hank Marlow: "Sorry guys, it's already closed."

Ann Darrow: "Come on Hank, Friday night."

Hank is surprised to see them.

Hank Marlow: "But I only have ketchup left."

Ann Darrow: "I just want one with extra cheese."

Bruce Baxter: "She was late again, I pay."

Hank listens to Driscoll go downstairs, understands this might be awkward... but he lets things go.

Hank Marlow: "I agree."

Driscoll looks for Hank in the kitchen.

Jack Driscoll: "Hank?"

Hank prepares the pizza while Ann and Bruce talk.

Bruce Baxter: "Yes, I got a role in the new play as this Carl Denham, apparently I will play a hunter."

Ann is happy listening to him, when she sees... Driscoll!... he quickly leaves, Ann is stunned... she runs after him, goes out the back to look for him, but she can't find him anymore.

Ann Darrow: "Jack."

Driscoll hides behind a trash can, Bruce comes out to see what's going on.

Bruce Baxter: "What's up, Ann?"

Ann goes back inside, asks Hank.

Hank Marlow: "Ann."

Ann Darrow: "Tell me the truth...tell me I didn't see a ghost."

Hank Marlow: "I don't know how to explain it."

Ann Darrow: "Please tell me the truth."

Hank doesn't know how to tell him. Later, a rain shower breaks, Driscoll walks to the road, tries to hitch a ride, a car pulls up behind him...it's Ann!...(don't ask me how she didn't see him in the alley but yes here in the midst of a universal deluge) Driscoll is stunned, both are surprised, so much so that they cannot help but hug each other.

Ann Darrow: "Don't go, come with me please."

Ann takes Driscoll to her house, but hidden, besides securing her house, she has something to tell him.

Ann Darrow: "Save our data, before they took it away."

Ann pulls the USB data out of a little box.

Ann Darrow: "I thought they would serve us someday."

Jack Driscoll: "Does Randa know this?"

Ann Darrow: "No, I don't think so, I haven't talked to him in years."

Jack Driscoll: "I have to make sure."

Ann Darrow: "Jack, I don't understand why we can't go talk to him together."

Jack Driscoll: "Because he told me what he wanted to do, my cell data, isolate it and then duplicate it...in short, weaponize it."

Ann can't believe it.

While...

Randa has access to a restricted location, a cryo-synchronization warehouse, in containers of the Black Pearl, she takes a sample of the first super soldier serums.

At home...

Driscoll will sleep in the living room, away from Ann...she brings him clothes and blankets.

Ann Darrow: "I thought you wanted to shave."

Jack Driscoll: "Thanks, I'll be out real early...as soon as I can."

Ann Darrow: "Really, you're not staying?"

Driscoll denies it.

Jack Driscoll: "I'd like to, but I'm not sure I'll be around long."

They both understand it much to their regret.

Jack Driscoll: "Can you lend me some money?...I'll take the bus."

Ann Darrow: "Sure, at least let me drop you off at the station."

Jack Driscoll: "Okay, but just that."

Ann Darrow: "Don't you need something else?"

Jack Driscoll: "No, I already have what it takes."

They both wish each other good night and go to sleep, they suffer because they want to be together... but given the circumstances, they know that it will not end so well for them.
