Authors note:

There are a few reasons Anakin didn't try to kill Sidious in the last chapter. Firstly, he was still in a weak state following the visions, and he knew sidious wouldn't go down so easy. He knew he wouldn't be able to defeat sidious even if it looked like he has a lightsaber to his neck. In addition, he actually started to agree with what sidious was saying. He came back in time with the goal of killing sidious, but the dark lord is twisting his mind once again.

Anakins ship landed on Serreno. Dooku and 2 royal guards approached the landing bay. Dooku dismissed the guards and approached Skywalker.

"Let's get straight to the point. What are you actually intending to achieve?" Dooku asked

"I don't really know anymore. I came back with the goal of killing sidious and leaving it at that. However, my coming back has seemed to hasten and change events and things are becoming less controllable. In fact, Sidious almost tempted me to the dark side earlier today. That is why i'm here. I need to to train me how to resist the darkside. I can use it with ease, but the power is constantly tempting me and it's hard to resist. I just feel as though if i fully embraced the dark side i could do so much more, but that runs the risk of me becoming a monster again. I want to prevent the clone war, but i also want to reform the republic to eradicate slavery and stop corruption. There is so much I want to do, but i don't know how without becoming a sith once again. "

"I share the same goals as you, and the dark side offered me the chance to achieve my objectives. I can train you to resist the darkness, however, you must use it aswell. The light side can only get you so far. That is why I left. You will also need to be willing to fight the Jedi if you want to make your reforms a reality. The jedi are so attached to that excuse of a senate, that even though your goals are in the interests of the galaxy the Jedi will still try to stop you. you know of the failures and the flaws of the jedi and that is why you became a Sith. Together we can save this galaxy. Take down Sidious and bring order to the galaxy"

"This is sounding an awful lot like Sidious" Anakin commented

"Thats because sidious was right. His methods are certainly flawed and by the sound of your experience they caused mass suffering and pain. However, we will meet the same basic objectives of a peaceful and safe galaxy, without the necessity of war or genocide to reach our goals."

Anakin began to contemplate the counts offer. He knew he was right. The jedi would inevitably try to stop him if he tried to fix the republic, and he knew he wouldn't be able to free the slaves of the galaxy, or stop the clone wars without embracing his Sith persona once again. He began regretting not trying to kill sidious on Mustafar, however, he knew that sidious wouldn't have been defeated so easily, and even if he had killed sidious Maul would have been able to escape to continue Sidious' plans.

"I will join you and follow your guidance" Anakin said

"Very well. Henceforth, you shall be known as DARTH VADER" Dooku proclaimed (Anakin told Dooku in an earlier chapter that he went by the name Vader in his past life)

Council POV

Obi wan, Yoda, Windu and Koon were able to get back to coruscant. Anakin had deactivated the tracking device on the ship he stole, so they couldn;t use that ton track him.

The Jedi made their way to the council chambers and took their seats (Obi wan still wasn't a master so he stood to the side)

"We followed Dookus lead and it took us to Mustafar. Skywalker was there but the sith had escaped. Whilst we were distracted Skywalker stole Master Plos ship" Windu reported to the other masters.

"He is dangerous and Sidious must have gotten to him in some way if fled even once you had arrived" Master Fisto stated

"A great threat he could be." Master Yoda replied, "Great care we must take. Make an enemy of him we must not. Very powerful he is."

The other jedi nodded in agreement, however, Obi-Wan was more conflicted. He knew something was wrong and wanted to help his apprentice, but he also knew he had to follow the councils guidance to stay put"

2 weeks later

There were celebrations in the capital as the 'kidnapped' Chancellor returned safely to the capital. He had claimed that special republic commandos had rescued him from a bounty hunter who had taken him.

The Jedi knew the chancellor was Darth Sidious, but they knew they couldn't confront him yet as if they did it would be seen as a military coup and Sidious likely had contingencies in the case that happened. For the time being they had to pretend to play Sidious' game, and they and take him out when he slips up.

SIDIOUS POV

"We need a way to start the clone wars before Skywalker can attempt to disrupt my plans. However the first batch of clones is still years from completion. We need a way to speed up their production, or to provide the republic with an alternative army. I believe that for the time being, if we begin separatist attacks then regular worlds in the galaxy will use their own private militaries to support the republics efforts. There is a large fleet of ships including venators already completed as well as fighters. We would have to train up regular citizens to use such equipment until the clones are ready, but it could work. Once the clones are ready we can escalate the conflict.

Anakin POV

Anakin and dooku were engaged in a heated duel. Dookus' red blade clashed with vaders blue blade. Lightining and large object crashed in all directions. A fiery rage was present from both parties. Dooku, who was normally calm and composed, was getting aggressive and even agitated.

Eventually Dooku got the upper hand when he was able to use Vaders weaker and smaller body against him by tossing a large object at him which Vaders child body was unable to resist.

Dooku held his blade to Vaders neck.

'You are beaten" Dooku declared

Dooku deactivated his lightsaber. "You have fought well my new apprentice. However your natual form is holding you back. We need to create a set of armour to help make up for your natural shortcomings. Then you will be unstoppable" Dooku suggested

"I agree" Vader said whilst getting back on his feet.

"I know someone who can help" Dooku replied, "I'm sure you know of General Grievous"

"very" Vader answered

"Well, the person who helped me rebuild grevious into his robotic form could help design a set of armour for you" Dooku proposed

"I'm not becoming a robot again" Anakin said with distain

"That wouldn't be necessary. It woudln't be to the extent of grevious. it would simply be a suit of armour that can be easily remouved. It would also allow for you to appear the size of a full grown man rather than a Child. " - Dooku assured

"Very well" Vader agreed

ONE MONTH LATER

A dark figure rose. A tall and intimidating build. It had a similar look to that of past vader, but without the life support and the weakness to lightening.

"This suit is fully optimised for your needs. It makes you appear far taller and larger. Increased strength, the ability to use force lightening and far more. It can be removed at any time and you can go back to your normal self whenever you need." Dooku commented

Anakin felt both happy and distraught simultaneously. he knew that he would now be able carry out his objectives far more effectively. however, he was turning back into the being he thought he had destroyed. he had to make sure he remained balanced between the light and the dark and never submerge fully into the dark side. He wasn't trying to make an enemy of the Jedi, but if they made him an enemy then so be it.

"Now we need to get you a different blade. That blue one is not going to work with our plans"

Vader and Dooku set course for Illum.

Dooku remained with the ship whilst Vader approached the large cave entrance. He could already feel the light and dark conflicting around him.

Council POV

"One of our invisible alarms in the Illum system had detected an unknown ship enter the system" - Windu infiormed the Council

"That could be Skywalker" - Mundi replied.

"We need to investigate." Windu added

Windu, Mundi, Yoda and Kenobi all got to their Jedi Starfighters and set course for Illum.
