It was just pointed out to me that the timeline I placed this chapter in made do sense (Sorry and thank you very much to the reviewer who pointed it out), I've just edited it so it hopefully makes more sense, Ahsoka now returns just after season 3, episode 7 (Assassin) where on a peace mission to Alderaan she received visions and ultimately stalled an assassination attempt on Padme. I won't guarantee any updates, however I am off for a few mores days, I'll try to write more tomorrow. This is also on AO3 under the same name (The Potential - Oftheseventhhouse)

She woke up abruptly to a feeling of being drenched in water,

Looking up, she was dry.

Ashoka looked around the room in fearful apprehension. Was she still dreaming? The room looked exactly like the room she had occupied over a decade ago with her master during her days as a padawan.

If she had been captured by the empire they would've chained her up at the very least. The Empire allowing a prisoner to sleep in? She thought amusedly, No, she had definitely not been captured by the Empire.

Standing up quickly, she reached for her sabres to only find one. Quickly stifling the mild panic, she poked around the room looking to see if it had simply rolled away in the night; she still had one, both would've been taken away if she'd been detained.

Glancing in the mirror briefly as she passed by, looking behind the dresser for her lost sabre she froze in shock.

That wasn't her face looking back at her.

At least, it wasn't the face that had looked back at her for the past decade. She was looking at a different Ashoka, a younger Ashoka.

Replacing the old, grief-ridden eyes that hadn't lightened since the loss of her dearest friend (and maybe something more, she'd wished before his death), the Captain of the 501st, and only one of her battalion that had made it through order 66 with her. Rex.

In place of her longer, more elegant montrals that had grown with her wisdom in the decade of rebellion, short, stubby montrals faced her. Looking more thoroughly over her appearance, she noticed she was much smaller. Added height and years of lean muscle, built over years of training and little food had disappeared, a short teen girl replacing the woman she'd become.

Though still in disbelief, she grudgingly accepted she may have somehow travelled to the past, having experienced odder things, always put off as mysterious workings of the force. She looked through her drawers for a better indication of when exactly she had returned to and found the outfit she had favoured around her second year as a padawan. She glanced at the cropped top and tube skirt in slight amusement, surprised her overprotective master, grand-master and battalion had ever let her on the battlefield with such little protection.

Thinking of her master and grand-master had a pang of longing shoot through her. Eyes watering slightly, she felt an impossible mix of happiness, confusion, dread and sadness well up in her chest at the possibility of finally seeing them again. Her true master, not the monster Vader had been twisted into by darkness, the older brother she had loved with her entire heart. Loved enough to let him kill her.

Recalling her last moments before she'd been transported here felt extremely painful. A man she loved had finally been the one to end her. Not this time she promised, she would do all she could to ensure a better future for everyone. They'd all deserved so much better. Obi-Wan, Padme, Anakin, the clones. And Rex, especially Rex. She might finally be able to form a relationship with him away from the respectful, formal interactions that had developed into a deep friendship after facing countless hardships, always together.

She would do better for all of them, she would put in everything to ensure a peaceful, happy future for all of them.

The first issues she saw were the biochips that had led thousands to their deaths by those who had been comrades, brothers even. An intense flash of anger surged through her as her thoughts turned towards Sidious, the Chancellor. The bastard that had caused so much pain and suffering, he was the main issue.

Suddenly overwhelmed by the intensity and gravity of the situation, she realized she would never be able to do it all alone. One word to the wrong ear would send this delicate situation into a flurry of insanity, she knew. Only the most trustworthy would need to know. Quickly her mind settled on Obi-Wan and Rex, however, she was deeply conflicted over her master.

The man she had known, loved and trusted for years had led the world into the darkness she had come from. His close relationship with the chancellor, along with his respect and admiration for Sidious troubled her. Would he even believe me? Would any of them believe me? She knew her Rex would at least listen to her story, but had her Rex changed so much from the Captain that had now only known her for a few years? She knew her grand-master's level headedness and rationality would at least leave her the chance to explain, and with her drastically better skills, years honed, along with certain future knowledge, she thought he could be convinced.

But Rex.

She knew Rex was extremely protective of his brothers. She had sat beside him countless times as he mourned his lost brothers, always determined to do better for them. Would he believe her unbelievable story only a dark plot to harm his brothers? She knew his cautiousness would force him to second guess her, but would he eventually believe her?

A quick bell chime quickly pulled her out of her thoughts. The bell had originated from the clock, showing 8:30, she knew she would have to get to breakfast quickly, as had been her routine, to rid herself from any suspicion.

Quickly dashing from her small apartment on the 5th floor of the temple, and walking through the airy, light walls that had been destroyed so long ago was a surreal experience. She entered the cafeteria just as it began to fill and headed towards the shelves of food trays on the far wall. She half-expected to either be thrown out onto the streets, an ode to her past self leaving the temple, or be walked through as if she was in a dream. So many people she hadn't seen in over a decade, people she knew had been killed in order 66, walked by her to grab their own meals. It was beginning to settle on her exactly what had happened.

Ahsoka suppressed the memories trying to resurface and quickly walked towards where she knew her grand-master would be seated. Anakin had always been a rather late riser compared to the average Jedi, though she now knew that was partly due to his morning comms with Padme, so the sight of her early-riser grand-master wasn't too great of a shock.

Swift blue eyes quickly glanced up at her appearance, a warm smile greeting her as she sat down across from him at the table they had frequented for so long. Playful memories rushed to the front of her mind, always involving her master and herself annoying the man in front of her at this table. Countless pieces of food thrown, teasing, and jokes had occurred here, nostalgia filled her senses.

Looking away from Master Obi-Wan's eyes quickly, knowing she had been caught staring too long, he greeted her.

"Good morning Ashoka," his slightly concerned voice intoned, "Did you sleep well last night?"

Obi-Wan had never been one to dig into another business, or express too much outward concern she fondly recalled; though the concern shown in his eyes reflected his true caring nature.

"A few nightmares kept me up for a while, but I'm fine." She quickly stuttered out awkwardly, the shock of talking to Obi-Wan again causing her plan to act normal falter. Ahsoka could tell Obi-Wan didn't fully believe her lie, however he continued on as if nothing odd had happened.

To cover up her blunder she quickly inquired when Obi-Wan thought Anakin would appear, guessing how long it would take him to roll himself out of bed had always been a fun activity they'd indulge in at breakfast, this time though, she thought it might give her some more information on when exactly she'd come to be.

Indulging her curiosity (and though he didn't know, answering her question), he replied "Well, the attempt to assassinate Senator Amidala, must have been quite stressful for him, I'm sure he'll use the opportunity to sleep in." Slightly sarcastically rolling his eyes, if she didn't know about Anakin and Padme's relationship she was sure she would have attributed his sarcasm to the fact they both very well knew he would take any opportunity to sleep in regardless of his situation, but now she could assume it was because Obi-Wan was aware of the "Secret" relationship.

Glancing at the clock momentarily, he stated "I'll say 9:30 at the latest today, he'll be woken by the younglings passing by his room for their meditation class at 9:40."

Ahsoka chuckled slightly, remembering just how loud the younglings could be when passing through the temple, though their volume never lowered despite countless lectures. Now though, she knew when she had arrived, just after her encounter with Aurra Sing on Alderaan. She'd arrived at perhaps the perfect time, she believed by this time her relationships had solidified enough that her story would be believed, while leaving enough time before more troubling events (like the temple bombing) to change things. She hoped it wouldn't come to that, though she had felt extremely betrayed by Barriss at the time of her betrayal, she now realized that despite her horrendous methods she had had a point, there needed to be changes and hopefully Ahsoka would be able to bring them.

"Well you know how deeply Anakin can sleep," Ahsoka replied, leaving her thoughts momentarily, "I doubt even a Bantha could wake him after a late night." And she knew he must've visited Padme last night, she now knew it had been partly responsible for his late mornings, and after the assassination attempt she was sure he must've been frantically awaiting her return.

A quick beeping from Obi-Wan's comm interrupted their light banter, Cody's familiar voice coming through.

"General, your presence has been requested by General Luminara for a mission briefing with the troops."

"Already?" Obi-Wan asked, surprised. "I thought we'd at least be given a few days' rest after Onderon."

"I thought so as well sir, but Master Luminara said it was quite urgent."

"Ok Cody, I'll just be a few minutes." Quickly standing up to leave with his tray, Obi-Wan turned to her apologetically.

"I'm sorry to cut our breakfast so short but Master Luminara seems to think this is quite urgent, can I trust you to tell Anakin where I've gone when he eventually wakes?" He asks.

"Of course Master Obi-wan. May the force be with you."

"And with you as well." He returned, departing quickly.
