Chapter 4
Christian
I'm driving through my parent's driveway when I glimpsed a gorgeous brunette walking towards the door where my mom is welcoming her. I wonder who she is? I've never seen her in any of my mom's parties before.
As I park my R8, a mercedes parks beside me. Two blondes, a boy and a girl, who looks like siblings, emerge from the mercedes. I don't know them either. Hmm, mom's been making alot of new friends lately. Young ones too.
"Who the hell is that?" Elliot exclaims beside me. He decided to tag-along yesterday for my now weekly tennis games with Ros. Gwen, Ros' partner, was also there so we could play doubles. We decided to eat dinner and had some drinks after. Elliot ended up crashing at my place last night. So, we both decided to just come together for today's BBQ party.
"I don't know. Never seen them before." I tell him.
"Blonde, long legs, and what looks to be at least a C, possibly a D-cup." He rubs his hands together, "This is gonna be a better day than I thought." He says as we walk to the house.
I scoff. A pig, I tell you.
o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o
"Christian, it's good to see you again." Ray say as we shake hands. "This is my wife, Carla." I saw Carla share a look with my mom whose on her way to us. What's that about?
"Ray, it's always great to see you. Carla, nice to meet you. I heard your daughter is a bestselling author. Is she here today? My sister's been meaning to meet her." I would also like to meet her. I decide not to say that out loud though. I've become a little obsessed with the book, you see. I've reread it a few times by now. The way Anastasia thinks is so appealing to me. I've tried searching for a photo of her on the internet, but I could never seem to find one. I can't believe i'm saying this, but i'm attracted to her mind. I've been really excited to finally see the mysterious Anastasia Steele.
"Christian." My mom interrupts before Carla could respond. "Come, I need you to help me carry something." We excuse ourselves from Ray and Carla, but not before I saw mom secretly wink at them.
"What're you up to?" I ask mom. She tries to act like she doesn't know what i'm talking about but I can see her try to fight a smile. She leads me to the library but before we reach it, she says she forgot something and that I should go on.
Grace
Mia's primping herself up. She's been very excited to meet Anastasia Steele. I know Mia, she's gonna monopolize Anastasia's time once she gets ahold of her. So, when I met Anastasia earlier - she's so beautiful!- I told her all about our library and the first editions we've collected through the years, and she was hooked.
"If you'd like I can show it to you?" I tell her. Her eyes widen and she seemed genuinely excited.
"If it wouldn't be too imposing, I would love to see your library." She says. Oh, she's such a sweetheart! I can already tell, I would love to have her as my daughter-in-law. I lead her to the library and tell her to take as much time as she wants in there.
Now, I only have to find Christian.
Ana
Oh my goodness! They have a first edition of Wuthering Heights. I'm engrossed in reading, and enjoying all the little differences this version has from my trusty worn-out wuthering heights copy at home when I heard the door opening. I turned my head towards the door and saw the most gorgeous man i've ever laid eyes on.
I stand up way too fast. Too fast for my clumsy body to keep up, and the next thing I see is the floor coming closer and closer. Great. Ugh, today of all days! I feel warm, strong hands on my shoulders. I look up to intense gray eyes. Wow! He's beautiful.
"Are you okay, miss?" Even his voice is hot. Keep it together, Ana! .
I stutter a little but I was eventually able to say, "i'm fine". He holds my hand to help me stand up, and I swear I felt a jolt of electricity from when our hands met.
"Sorry about that. It seems I was born with 2 left feet." I try to laugh it off.
He smiles, and what a smile it was. I could melt right now.
"I'm Christian. Who are you?" He asks.
"Ana. It's nice to meet you." We shake hands, and I feel the electricity again. I saw his eyes flicker to our hands. Does he feel it too?
"So, how do you know the Grey's? And, what brings you to the library? Are you a book worm like me?" I ask him genuinely curious. I wanna know everything about this guy.
"I am a Grey. Grace and Carrick are my parents. My mom brought me here she wanted me to help her carry some...thing."
Christian
"...thing." There doesn't seem to be anything to bring to the backyard from here. Hmm... the looks, the winks, leaving me right before I opened the door. Is mom trying to set me up with Ana? For the first time ever, this might actually work. Ana is the brunette I saw earlier. If I thought she was beautiful then, now that I see her up close - there are no words. She is the most beautiful woman i've ever seen, hands down. That's saying a lot since i've had hundreds of women throw themselves at me because of my money and looks. There's only one problem. I don't date.
As a teenager it took me a while to start having sex because of my haphephobia. Thankfully, Flynn taught me to explain to girls i'm interested in that i'm uncomfortable with touch. So, after an initially awkward conversation, i'm good to go. After a while though, I found it too taxing to have this conversation again and again. So, I struck up a deal with certain girls. I call them, they come, we do it, we say goodbye. The last girl was the longest one i've had. Her name is Susannah. She's a lawyer; and is too busy to worry about a relationship. We did this for 3 years until she quit her job for something less time consuming. Her new job is in Chicago, so we had to terminate our deal. That was more than 6 months ago. I've been meaning to look for someone else but it just wasn't a priority for me anymore. I'm thinking of proposing a deal with Ana, but she doesn't seem like the type to agree to a purely sexual relationship.
"You're Christian Grey? As in, the billionaire?" I nod my head as I watch her eyes widen. She has such stunning blue eyes.
"So you're the guy that's been harassing my editor." She says with a giggle.
"Wait, so you're Anastasia Steele? The author? Well, if you had only agreed, I wouldn't have had to." I tease. Holy shit. She's Anastasia Steele? She's even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.
"Yup, so i'm guessing your sister's here? Maybe, we could just do it here then." But I don't really wanna share you yet.
"Well, I have a few questions myself."
Ana
Christian and I spent the next two hours talking. Initially, he asked questions about the book but after I remained tight lipped about certain questions, we moved on to anything and everything under the sun. I learned about his company, how his father was initially against him dropping out of college to pursue it but after presenting a business plan, he eventually loaned him the money to start the business. I told him the story of how I became an author. How I used to work as an elementary english teacher, and would write during my free time. How much I loved teaching the kids until they moved me to the High School division, so I decided to resign and write full time.
We were having such a great time until Grace knocked at the door with a very excited raven haired woman behind her.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you two, but my daughter, Mia, just simply cannot wait to meet you, Ana."
