Chapter 4: The Game Plan and Rain Battle

Acha, Kocha and Volleyball were waiting near the new warp pad. Suddenly it began to activate and Steven and the others entered.

Kocha: Guys. What the heck was that all about?

Acha: Yeah, was that an attack?

Volleyball: Are you okay though? Steven you look like you were punched in the face.

Steven: I was punched in the face. Ow, my face still hurts.

Connie kisses his cheek.

Connie: Does that help?

Steven: A little, but look we need to talk it's important.

Later at the house.

Acha: What?! You mean to tell me that Experiment SA-X is secretly in progress?

Bismuth: So you didn't know either?

Kocha: No, trust us we were Gien's right hand bots. We would've known all his secrets. But there was no news on Experiment SA-X even after Peridot here went rogue on us. I don't even think Bomber, Viggo, the Seatrons or Huntress knew.

Acha: Until recently. Wait, is it almost complete?!

Steven: He said that it won't be done until 12 years.

Amethyst: Yeah that grey guy said.

Acha: Grey guy?

Steven: Anyway, Volleyball there's something I need to ask.

Volleyball: Oh yes?

Steven: You knew my mom first before Pearl did. Did she have any other gems with her?

Volleyball: Uh...you mean her guards?

Steven: No I mean she said she knew my mom.

Volleyball closed her eyes trying to think. Was there any other gem Pink Diamond had. She's starting to recall that she did know someone else with Pink, but didn't know who.

Pearl : Think hard, did you know anyone else with Pink?

Steven: Yeah, she was redish pink, had pigtails, and her gem looked like a heart.

Volleyballs eyes opened wide as she started to remember.

Volleyball: A heart?

Steven: Yeah but it was upside down. Darn it, forgot what he said her name was. Spinny, Spiney, errr...

Volleyball: Spinel?

Steven: Yeah that's...wait, so you do know her?

Volleyball: It can't be.

Pearl: What is it?

Volleyball: I remember now. I wasn't the only gem with Pink Diamond. Spinel was there too.

Garnet: What do you know about her?

Vollebyall: Well, she was Pink's personl jester as I was her personal servent. Although, she treated us more as friends than servents. With her we always played together, goof around and also tended the garden we had.

Steven: That's right, you once said my mom had a garden in space.

Volleyball: It was our favorite spot. We were almost like that trio of cartoon birds from that movie you showed me once.

Steven: So then, what happened between mom and her?

Volleyball: I don't know. We all got along with each other. Whatever happened must have been after I was bubbled away. I can't believe I forgot all about her until now.

Pearl: It's also strange, I didn't know about her.

Amethyst: How come P? I thought you knew everything about her.

Pearl: Not everthing Amethyst. This Spinel never introduced herself to me, I don't know why though.

Volleyball: I don't know either.

Bismuth: Well I don't know what her deal is, but she's siding with the Gara Droids.

Volleyball: What?

Garnet: She did attack us along with Skekung. According to the warrior Gray, she works for this King Salamandas or Experiment SA-X.

Volleyball: No she would never do that!

Volleyball yelled in the room in frustration.

Volleyball: I'm sorry it's just, I don't believe it. The Spinel I know is a kind, sweet and funny gem. She makes people laugh and is very playful. This is not like her.

Steven: Well, if you and me try we could talk to her and know what her problem is.

Revenger: Don't push your luck. That warrior said she's the worst out of King Salamandas's army. You should be prepared for when you face her again.

Steven: But hold on, what if she's being forced?

Revenger: She didn't look like she was being forced. In fact it looked like she was having fun toying with you. She and that monster will be back and you have to fight back.

Volleyball: You mean even if it mean shattering her?

Steven: Whoa we're not going to take that kind of extreme measure.

Revenger: You think they're going to go easy on you? You told me the moment that monster Skekung found out your name he immediatly attacked you.

Steven: I'm not talking about Skekung, I'm talking about Spinel. We don't shatter gems, you know that.

Revenger: Rargh! You're too soft to be a warrior.

Revenger leaves the house.

Steven: Hey, where are you going?

Revenger: To find that warrior. I know he's hiding something from me. You think about your "great" plan.

Revenger flies off into the horizon.

Steven: Revenger!

Garnet: Let him go. He'll be back.

Steven and Garent goes back inside with the others.

Steven: Well he's gone again.

Garnet: Don't worry about him. But now that we know about the Gara Droids plan and this new gem the problem now is that how do we get to homeworld?

Amethyst: Yeah, we don't have a ship, do we?

Pearl: All the old gem ships are barely operational, they're no longer capable of flight.

Peridot: Well, what about the galaxy warp pad? You know the one I used to first come and Steven tried to make fix.

Steven: We could do that.

Bismuth: No think about it. We warp over there, those scrap heaps will be standing around there. They'll over whelm us and kill us all.

Peridot: Oh yeah.

Lapis: Well, we know using the ocean doesn't work. I could fly you all, but I can only take one at a time.

Connie: What about Lion?

Steven: He barely had enough energy to take us to the moon. Making him warp to Homeworld is something else. Wait, Acha, Kocha how did you guys get to Earth? Did you have a ship or what?

Acha and Kocha: Uh...

Two years ago.

Acha, Kocha and Bomber were in their ship, on their way to Earth to investigate the Earth and to find Peridot. But as they were closing to Earth, they were fighting over the controls.

Kocha: Hey, I wanted to bring the ship to the Earth.

Acha: No way. I'm the captain, I get to land the ship.

Kocha: Who made you captain?

Acha: Isn't it clear. I'm taller, I get to drive.

Kocha: Taller, you can't even command Rubies to do their work. I should be the captain.

Acha: Not a chance it's me.

Kocha: No me.

Acha: No me.

Kocha: Me.

Acha: Me.

Kocha: Me.

Acha: Me.

Bomber: Would you two lame brains stop bickering and focus?! I'm in charge of this operation so I'm the captain, not you me. ME! So just land the ship already and...AAAHH!

Acha: Ah, what?

The duo turns around and see's an asteroid coming at their ship.

Acha and Kocha: AAAAAH!

Bomber: Turn the ship! Turn the ship!

But before they could do anything, the asteroid hits the ship.

Kocha: We've been hit!

Bomber: What's the damage?

Acha: The ships engine reactor is damaged and fuel is leaking. We're gonna crash.

Bomber: Don't say it. Don't even say it!

The ship was near the Earth's atmoshpere and the gravity was pulling them in.

Kocha: Brace yourselves and prepare for impact.

Acha: We're all gonna die!

Bomber: Morons! I'm surrounded by morons!

And with that the ship crashes and explodes.

End of flashback.

Acha: Um, lets just say their was an accident and it got destroyed.

Kocha: Completely.

Amethyst: Great, does this mean we there's no way there and just wait till we all die?

Pearl: Wait I remember now!

Everyone stared at her as she blushed.

Pearl: Um, sorry. What I meant to say was there might be one more thing that can get us there.

Garnet: And what's that?

Pearl: The ship Pink Diamond and I took when first coming here.

Steven: What? You and mom have ship.

Pearl: Well of course Steven, each of the Diamonds have their own ship when traveling to other planets.

Volleyball: That's right they do.

Peridot: Does it still work?

Pearl: It should. I mean it hasn't been touched in over 6,000 years but should still be operational.

Steven: Then it settled. Lets find that ship, stop the Gara Droids once and for all and save the future!

But then he heard thunder outside and it began to rain.

Steven: Uh...tomorrow. We set off tomorrow.

Connie: I got to head home, but I'll meet you tomorrow and help.

Steven: Okay then, you have a good night.

Connie: Thanks, you too.

She gets on Lion as they all wave bye to her.

Meanwhile

Near Beach City, the warrior Gray was flying above the forest, looking for Spinel and Skekung in the cold dark rain. He stopped in midair and took out some night vision goggles and looked around the area.

Gray: Hmmm. Nothing. No sign of those two anywhere.

He heard the thunder and looked up. The rain was pouring hard on him. Although he wasn't too wet with his armor, but was getting tired.

Gray: I won't be able to find them like this. Should call it a night.

Gray flew down and landed on a cliff that had a view of Beach City. He tried building a tent out of a fallen tree and branches. He kicked the tree so hard if fell down and managed to pick it up easily with his superhuman strength. He tied them up together with some rope and assembled them together into a shelter.

Gray: I know you're there.

He was referring to Revenger who was standing behind him.

Revenger: So, you can sense my presence.

Gray: I've been fighting all my life. When you train hard you can develop abilities that normal humans don't have.

Revenger: Right, tell me straight, who are you?

Gray: I told you, my name's Gray.

Revenger: Yeah I get that. But what are you really? You human or not?

Gray: I can't answer that.

Revenger: Don't give me that crap! I want answers.

Gray: What is it you want to know?

Revenger: I want to know what you really are. Where do you get your powers, how did you learn to fight and what are you hiding underneath that helmet?

Gray: I can't answer those. I told you I'm here to help.

Revenger: Yeah that's main problem. How do I know we can trust you?

Gray: Steven seems too.

Revenger: Sometimes he's too trusting. That's what I'm here for. To find out what you are, even if I have to use extreme measures.

Gray: I'm not here to fight you Revenger.

Revenger: I want to know what you're capable of and at least take off your mask so I can see who you are?

Gray: Tell you what. If you can take me down, I'll tell you everything.

Revenger: ( silent chuckles) I love the way you think kid. Go ahead, make your move.

Gray: You first.

Revenger ran up at him and threw a punch, but Gray caught his fist. He did a roundhouse kick at him but Gray blocked that too. Gray grabbed his leg and threw him at a tree. Revenger looked up and saw Gray about to punch him. He jumped up avoiding the attack as Gray punched through the tree, knocking it down. While in the air Revenger aimed his arm and shoulder cannon at him and fired away. Gray however managed to deflect all the projectile attacks by simply swiping them away with his hand. Gray's hand began to glow and threw at him a red energy ball. Revenger dodged it and was about to fire back down at him, but when he looked down Gray was gone. He looked around but couldn't see him through the dark and heavy rain. Lightning strucked and he got a glimpse of Gray in front of him, he gasped and was punched to the ground. Gray landed back down.

Revenger: ( silent chuckles) Impressive. You're better than I thought.

Gray: I had a great teacher.

Revenger: Really? Who taught you to fight? One of the survivors?

Gray: That's not important for you to know.

Revenger: I think it is.

Revenger formed his wrist blades and lunged at him. Gray blocked the attack with his arms. The armor on his arms was really strong and made to block attacks like this. He kept blocking his attacks until he grabbed both his arms and kicked him down. Gray jumped up and was flying down at him with a kick. His leg was glowing green and was coming down at him fast. Revenger got out of the way. Gray looked back at him and was punched across the face and then the stomach. He stepped back gasping. Revenger was running at him with his wrist blades. Gray formed his nagitana sword and the two clashed their weapons.

Revenger: Tell me, who taught you to fight.

Gray: No!

Revenger pushed him back and tried to slash across his head. Gray ducks and hits him with the pole of the nagitana. He jumped back and was spinning his weapon.

Gray: Cyclone burst!

Gray used the cyclone burst on him as the electric windstorm was coming at Revenger. But Gray coulnd't tell if he was hit or not. Suddenly from the side, he was punched across the face by Revenger, dropping his weapon as it disappears. Gray tried to get back up but is grabbed by Revenger with a full nelson hold.

Gray: What the...

Revenger: You fight well. Honestly this is the best fight I had in two years. But I can tell you're holding back. I guess that answers one thing. You're not the enemy.

Gray: I told you I wasn't and I don't want to hurt you.

Revenger: That's your fault. Don't you know you never hold back or show mercy to the enemy?

Gray: Of course I do. But you're not.

Revenger: Is that what your teacher taught you. Tell me his name.

Gray: I refuse.

Revenger: I will not let you go until you answer me. Not to mention it seems I've won so you have to.

Gray: ( mumbles) Damn...

Revenger: Tell me now. Who taught you to fight?

Gray looked down as he balled his fists and was shaking.

Revenger: Tell me!

Gray: MY FATHER!

Suddenly a green aura bursted out of Gray's body. This sent Revenger flying into a boulder. He fell down and looked beaten up and was paralyzed. Gray walked up to him as the two stared at each other in the eys.

Revenger: I...I knew you were holding back. Hehehe...( coughs)

Gray: I'm sorry, that wasn't supposed to happen.

Revenger: Ha don't be. You amaze me Gray, but you haven't showed me your face.

Gray: You can't fight anymore in your state. So I won. You got your answer. Just let me do my mission and don't follow me or else.

Gray flew away to another location to camp as Revenger sat there under the rain.

Revenger: His father huh? Judging by the way he fights, he must have been a good mentor. I may not have gotten his identity or what his big plan is, but...something tells me I haven't seen the last of him.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. Sorry if this took long, but I wanted to take this slow and think through the plot carefully. I know the fan ideas of Spinel and Volleyball know or meet each other have been done before, but honestly I thought this was the best route and I found really strange if Pearl knew about Spinel, why didn't she say anything before? I also realized a plot hole in my first story about the whereabouts of the ship that Bomber, Acha and Kocha took when first coming to Earth so I tried to retcon it here.
