54. Delusional (Asylum AU)

Auction Day 13- Sophie - Asylum!AU

Harry screamed at the locked door. He wasn't crazy, he didn't belong here! He belonged at Hogwarts! He was a wizard! Hagrid had said so.

"Let me out, I'm missing potions," he yelled, banging his head against the door. "Open this door, Dobby, let me out!"

Outside the door, Dr. Albus Dumbledore shook his head. The poor boy had been admitted on his eleventh birthday by his aunt and uncle. He was living in a delusion that he was a wizard, of all things. He kept saying something about getting a letter, but the boy's uncle said no one wrote the child. Harry's parents had been killed in a drunk driving accident when Harry was just a baby. He had never accepted it and built up this whole world in his head about how his parents had been special. Now, Harry was a ward of the country, living at Hogwarts Asylum for Mentally Disturbed Children. Albus almost felt sorry for the boy. He'd gone as far as to run away from his home and run head first into a pillar at King's Cross Station, screaming about the passage being closed.

"Mister Potter, it is time for your medication," Dr. Snape stated, pushing open the door to Harry's room. Harry had been put in isolation after an incident with another patient, Miss Hermione Granger. No one knew the specifics of what had happened, but Miss Granger had gone catatonic and had quit responding to anyone.

"You're trying to poison me, Snape!" Harry yelled, knocking the tray from Dr. Snape's hands and running to his window, yelling for someone to save him. Albus sighed. He had hoped in time, that Harry would come to the conclusion magic didn't exist and this was all in his head, but the boy had made no move to help himself, no move to admit that possibly he was wrong. Maybe it was time to up the boy's treatment. Albus did have someone coming to look at Harry, Alaster Moody promised to be one of the best pediatric psychologists in the country, maybe he would finally be able to help Harry?
