Chapter 6: Future Son?!
The room was completely silent after what Gray had just said.
Steven: Uh, hold on I think I had wax in my ear, for a moment I thought you said we were you parents.
Gray: I did.
Steven and Connie look at each other looking
Connie: Me and Steven?
Gray: Yes.
Steven and Connie: WHHAAAAA!?
The two of them fell to the ground back as they were completely shocked.
Steven: You're our son?!
Gray: Future son. This is why I didn't say anything before.
Garnet: Oh... I definitly did not see that coming.
Pearl: My baby going to have kids? Oh this is the happiest day of my life!
Bismuth: But he hasn't been born yet?
Pearl: But I know it's going to come now.
Amethyst: Whoa wait so...
Amethyst turns to Steven and smirks at thim.
Amethyst: Dude that means you and Connie actually...
Steven: ( blushing) Amethyst don't even say it!
Connie: ( blushing) Please don't.
Steven: Anyway Gray, can you tell us more about you?
Gray: ( Sighs) I guess there no point of hiding it anymore. Yes you two are my parents, King Salamandas and the Gara Droids invaded Earth and as I said, you along with Ruby, Pearl, Amethyst and Lapis were killed that day. Mainly mom along with was Sapphire, Peridot Bismuth and even Revenger were there and raised me.
Steven: So if I'm your dad, do you atleast remember me.
Gray: Saddly no, I have no memories of you or the others, well most of you I mean. I was probably two when you died.
Lapis noticed how he motioned towards her. Was he refering to her. Revenger was also in a thought. When he first fought Gray he said this his father taught him how to fight. But how can that be if Steven died when he was toddler. He could say he was lying but the way he bursted out that energy like that was too real. Something was not right with this.
Connie: Wait so why did we name you Gray?
Gray: Well my full name is Greg Grayson Universe.
Steven: Greg? So I named you after my dad?
Gray: That's what mom told me. But no one calls me Greg.
Pearl: Wait, you already settled on a name? But I made of a whole list of names I wanted to suggest.
Steven: Wha...Pearl you were thinking of names if we had kids.?
Pearl: Of course I would. I've been thinking of it since you two started dating.
Connie: That was six months ago.
Pearl: So?
Amethyst: Can we here them anyway P?
Pearl: Oh sure.
Pearl pulls out a roll of paper from her gem, she lets it roll out as the list was so long if went down the stairs. Everyone was just astonished that Pearl made that big of list.
Pearl: Okay let's see here ( clears throat)... Steven Jr, Connie Jr, Rose Jr, oh wait maybe I should rename that to Pink Diamond Jr, Acacius, Perseus. Oh you'll love these ones, Leonardo, Donetello, Raphael, Michealangelo, Pearl II and...
Amethyst: Whoa, whoa, whoa hold up. Why would they name their kid after you?
Pearl: Why wouldn't they name their kid after me? His favorite gem.
Then all the gems gasped.
Amethyst: Excuse me? Oh, oh you did not just say that.
Steven: Oh geez.
Pearl: Well I don't usually brag, but I did train them. Steven and I have been through a lot together so that makes me his favorite gem.
Amethyst: No way. You're so uptight and a total control freak. I'm way more fun to hang around with and we do all sorts of stuff together. So I'm his favorite gem. Right Steven?
Steven: Uh...
Garnet: Not so fast you too. I'm very patient with Steven whenever he made mistakes. I always make sure he's safe and I was the first to love him when he was born. Plus he's really into fusion. I'm two gems in one. So I'm his favorite gem.
Bismuth: Hold up yall. I always got our Young leader's back. I'm always rooting for him, I inspire him, I made his weapons and this house. Twice! So I'm his favorite.
Peridot: Pffft, please, you four are old school.
Pearl: Old!?
Amethyst: Hey I came out last, so I'm pretty young. But P is definitly old.
Pearl: Amethyst!
Peridot: But the point is, I helped him with the Cluster, we hang out watching Camp Pining Hearts and we're about to again with the upcoming reboot and I came up with Sand Castle wars. I mean, I'm the great and lovable Peridot! What else do I gotta say? I'm his favorite gem.
Lapis: Steven and I are Beach Summer Buddies and we love making morps together. I was the one who came up with Sand Castle wars, I'm the evil water queen. I stole the ocean and he still loves me. So that means I'm his favorite gem.
Peridot: You did not come up with Sand Castle wars!
Lapis: Yes I did!
Pearl: I'm his favorite gem!
Amethyst: No way Pearl It's me!
Bismuth: Na ah, it's me!
Garnet: It's defintly me.
Peridot: No me!
Lapis: Me!
Amethyst: Me!
Bismuth: Me!
Pearl: Me!
Garnet: Me!
They just kept on arguing putting everyone in an akward posistion
Steven: This is why I never say who's my favorite gem.
Revenger: Stop it, this madness needs to stop!
Gems: SHUT UP! NO ONE ASKED YOU ANYTHING!
Revenger just stood their silenced with a dumbfounded look. Somehow his sterness didn't help as they continued arguing. Gray just sat their looking dumbfounded as well, really not knowing what to do.
Steven: Okay, okay! Guys stop! There's no need to fight, you're all my favorite really!
They all stopped and just stared at him, arms crossed.
Peridot: All of us? Really?
Steven: Yes really.
Amethyst: Hmmm, we'll talk about this later.
Garnet: I agree, sorry you had to see that Gray.
Gray: It's uh...it's fine.
Garnet: So if you're Steven's son, that means you're part gem right?
Gray: Quarter gem yes.
Steven: So what gem do you have?
Gray: I don't have one.
Steven: Wha...really? But you have powers and you can summon a weapon.
Gray: Of course, I can do that. I just don't have a gemstone on me.
Connie: He's more human than Gem Steven. How old are you actually?
Gray: I'm 19. I've been training all my life for the resistance.
Steven: That's right you said that. So is your resistance like the the Crystal Gems.
Gray: I guess. I mean at first it was only 7 of us. We couldn't stay up in the surface anymore so we hid away at Bismuth's forge. No one knew of it's location. But only Revenger, Mom and sometimes Bismuth fought, but when I was 6 mom lost her leg and couldn't fight anymore and Revenger was mainly at it alone. But sometime after that, I discovered my powers...
13 years ago in Gray's timeline.
At Bismuth's forge
Six year old Gray was sitting by the corner with Lion. He had his hands together trying to do a trick that he recently discovered. He tried concentrating and only sparks came out of his hands.
Gray: Ugh, come on work.
He is then approached by Sapphire.
Sapphire: Hello Gray, what are you doing here all by yourself?
Gray: Hey Sapphire, I was trying to do this trick I did. I want to try and make it bigger.
She watched as he static kept sparking from his hands. He looked frustrated trying to get it right.
Gray: Come on!
Sapphire: Easy now. Take a deep breath.
Gray did as she did and took a deep breath.
Sapphire: Okay now try it again.
Gray formed his hands together as sparks static from his hands.
Sapphire: Now dont' try to force it. Try and focus. Concentrate and building that energy.
Gray did as she did and focused. He didn't force it this time as the energy sparked from his hands formed together into a small energy ball. His eyes widened in amazement as Sapphire smiled at him as the energy ball levitated from his hand.
Gray: Whoa! I did it!
Sapphire: I knew you could.
Gray: I gotta show mom this!
In another room Connie and Revenger were being treated by Peridot and Bismuth. Bismuth was treating Revengers scrapped and damaged body after his last mission failed while Peridot just finished building a robotic leg for her.
Peridot: Alright Connie, let's try this out.
Connie: Thanks for doing this Peridot. Thought I was never going to walk again.
Peridot: Of course, wouldn't want to put you in a chair.
Connie: I'm going to need it if I'm gonna be back in the battle field.
Peridot looked up at her with a frown.
Peridot: Well...with the short equipment we have, it's more of a crutch than a new and articulated leg. I don't reccomend fighting with this.
Connie: But I have to. Revenger will be alone.
Revenger: Than I'll have to stop Salamandas on my own.
Bismuth: How are you going to do that? You barely got away from Sargane and and Skekung?
Revenger: I don't know, I'll think of something.
Gray: Mom! Mom!
They heard Gray's voice coming in as he was showing her, the energy ball he made.
Gray: Mom, look at what I did.
Gray showed her the energy ball.
Connie: H-How did you...
Gray: I discovered it myself a while ago, but I got it to look like this.
Peridot: That's incredible.
Bismuth: Now that is really something else.
Revegenger didn't say anything but just stared at him as he was getting an idea.
Connie: That's amazing Gray. You're powers are starting to show.
Gray looked excited but he was losing concentration as the energy ball began to destabalize and it bursted into little projectlies bouncing all over the place. Everyone ducked down and lucklily no one was hurt once they disappeared.
Gray: Uh...sorry.
Revenger: ( in his mind) Of course...it's him.
Later
Revenger gathered everyone together on the plan he had in mind.
Connie: You want to do what?!
Peridot: Yeah, do you hear yourself?
Revenger: Yes, I'm serious. I want to train Gray so he can fight with us.
Sapphire: Revenger he's only a child.
Bismuth: Yeah, this is crazy.
Revenger: My mind is made up. I'm going to train him.
Connie: He's my son. He's all I have left.
Sapphire: We already suffered our loss of Steven, Ruby and everyone else too, Gray doesn't have to be on that list.
Bismuth: Steven's powers weren't enough and because that Uppercrust killed the others so fast we didn't get a chance to use Imperial Rainbow. What will make Gray different?
Revenger: The reason they got killed was because they slacked off.
They all stood there looking at him with hurt and offended looks.
Connie: Excuse me?
Peridot: Those were our friends. Our family.
Revenger: I'm sorry, but it's true. I warned him that the Gara Droids would return eventually and they did. He stopped training and that made him weaker. But with Gray I can make him stronger. I can him better than his dad. He is our only hope.
Connie: You're putting his life in danger.
Revenger: I'm doing whats best for him. For us! Is this what you all want, to stay in here, hide and lose? Salamandas will find us eventually.
As they were arguing Gray overheard everything from another room as he held onto Lion. He wasn't sure of what to make of it. It was about him and Revenger wanting to train him to fight. Gray always thought about becoming strong. He heard stories about his dad and all the things he's done, maybe he could do the same.
Connie: I can't...I refuse...
Revenger: Gray?
Gray jumped up suprised he knew he was listening.
Revenger: I know you're there. Come.
Gray walked up to him.
Revenger: Tomorrow, we train. To make you the most powerful warrior on the planet. Are you up for that.
Connie: I said the answer is no.
Gray looked over at his mom and the gems who were all worried for him. He looked back at Revenger.
Gray: I always heard so much about dad. I want be strong just like him.
Connie: Gray...
Connie kneeled down to his level and placed her hands onto his shoulders.
Connie: You don't have to do this. This is about trying to save the world, fighting Salamandas. You know that right?
Gray: But...you told me how you were trained fight as a kid.
Connie: That's different I...
Connie then thought about it for a moment. She too was trained to fight, but she was living fine back then. This is dark time and Gray hardly knew what they were doing.
Connie: Okay, I don't know about about getting him to fight, but you can train him for now.
Revenger: Alright.
Connie: But don't get him anywhere near Salamandas!
Revenger: Okay, alright, I promise he'll be fine.
The next day.
Revenger and Gray were on Lion as he warped them to a field.
Gray: Revenger, if we're camping how come we didn't bring any food or supplies.
Revenger: Because this is the first part of your training. If you want to be strong, you must learn how to survive. I'm going to leave you alone for a month.
Gray: Wait what?!
Revenger: You have everything out there, food, water and things to make tools and shelter.
Gray: No don't leave me here!
Gray grabbed Revenger's hand until he shook him off.
Revenger: Enough! This step is vital to your training. Good luck oh and uh, don't get eaten by wolves.
Gray: Wolves?
Revenger gets onto Lion and has him warp away.
Gray: Hey Revenger! Revenger!
But he was gone as Gray looked around his surroundings and takes a deep breath.
Gray: Okay, just relax Gray. I mean how hard can it be hehe.
Then he heard something russling in the bushes. He freaked out and ran away, but really out came was just a rabbit.
Later that night
Gray: Come on, come on.
Gray was trying to make a fire. He had twigs together in a pile as he tried to rub two sticks.
Gray: This is impossible it'd be so much easier if I had some lava from Bismuth forge. Wait a minute.
Gray got his hands together and tried to do the energy ball trick again. He was able to do it and tossed it into the twigs, making a fire.
Gray: Yes, it worked!
Then he heard a growl. From the bushes was a wolf glaring and snarling at him.
Gray: Uh...hello. Nice dog?
Wolf jumped at him as Gray dodged and ran through the forest trying to get away, until he tripped and fell. He turned back and saw the wolf about to pounce and kill him.
Gray: No! Leave me alone!
Gray reached his hands out at it and suddenly and energy beam shot right at it, instantly vaporizing the wolf. Gray sat their and just breathed heavily and looked at his hands, unable to believe what he just did.
1 month later
Gray has been adapting to the wild life. He was able to figure out how to make shelter and for food, he was hesitant killing some animals, so he mainly fished and even snacked on bugs. That night he was near his tent and was cooking his fish over the fire.
Gray: Come on, can't this cook any faster.
Revenger: I see you doing well.
Gray looked behind him and saw Revenger.
Gray: Revenger. Has it been a month already?
Revenger: I've been watching your progress. I didn't think you survived the first night.
Gray: It took me four days trying to adapt. I thought I was going to die. And you saw everything? Why didn't you save me from the wolf!
Revenger: If you want to fight, you must stand your ground and fight. But congratulations, you passed the first step of your training.
Gray: Really? So next I'll learn to fight?
Revenger: Yes, prepare yourself.
Over the years, Revenger has been teaching Gray how to fight along with controlling his powers and using them. Revenger was not easy though, Gray got so much punishiment from him, actually getting hit from his punches. He had him climb a mountain with rocks attached to him, along with swimming across the ocean with weights and jumping across cliffs and trees. But no matter how hard it was, Gray kept on going.
6 years later.
Gray now 12 years old was at the forge, sharpening his training sword. He had a more athletic build with some muscle. He had more control on some of powers such as flight and forming energy blasts, but he still couldn't summon his weapon yet. Revenger approached him.
Revenger: Gray, it's time to go.
Gray: Right, coming.
Gray followed Revenger out as he came across Bismuth.
Bismuth: Hey there soldier, how's the sword doing for you?
Gray: It's good Bismuth, but I still haven't mastered on forming my weapon yet.
Bismuth: Hey don't worry about it. It took you dad a while to figure out how to use his. With the progress your at, you should get it soon.
Bismuth patted him on the back, a litte too hard that it pushed him a bit.
Gray: Yeah ok. I'll be back later.
Bismuth: Just stay out of trouble.
Later
Gray and Revenger were training, with their weapons. Gray mainly blocked while Revenger attacked faster and harder until he knocked him down. Gray got knocked down multiple times, but kept getting back up and fought back with what he got.
Revenger: Alright, break time.
Revenger sat down while Gray went to his bag to get out some water and drank some. He sat by Revenger as they rested. Gray looked over at Revenger and wanted to ask him something.
Gray: Hey Revenger.
Revenger: Yeah kid.
Gray: What was my dad like?
Revenger turned to him with a confused look.
Revenger: Didn't your mother or any the gems tell you?
Gray: Well yeah, they always said how he was so kind, brave and helped everyone. But what was he like in battle?
Revenger: Hmmm. You dad was... a good man. Really was, when I first came to this rock the only thing that was in my mind was hate and getting back for what Gien did. I didn't want to do anything with Earth, but he showed me why it's a great place and helped made some friends, that was until that day. But the point is while he was a kind man, he was too soft. His lack of training after the first Gara Droid invasion, hesitant on killing and wanting to live a peaceful life is what got him killed. He tried to talk Salamandas, but instead he ended up dead. That was one thing I couldn't stand. He had so much power and didn't put at good use.
He then noticed Gray who was looking down and was shaking, holding his water bottle tight.
Revenger: I'm sorry it offends you ,but it's the truth.
Gray: No I'm just...just upset that he was that weak. If he was so strong before, why did he stop?! He could have been here with me and mom, but he isn't. Because he doens't like to fight? If he failed, what if I fail. You're counting on me to take down Salamandas and mom doesn't know this yet.
Revenger: Hey easy! Listen, that's why I'm here. To keep you from making the same mistake he did. If you keep up with me, you'll be more powerful than he was. I told you, I'll make you better than he was. That's a promise and I got your back.
Gray relaxed and smiled at him. But then they heard something from the sky, sounded like jets.
Revenger: Gray, get behind that boulder!
Gray and Revenger hid as they looked up, it was a four Aerodroids flying by caring a large container
Gray: Are those enemy jets?
Revenger: Aerodroids, what's that they got their? Lets follow them.
The two of them flew up and followed Aerodroids but stayed far away so they wouldn't be noticed.
They landed on a cliff and saw what was once Beach City. The old buildings were torn down as theire were new taller ones. The sky was red with black clouds. Where the temple and lighthouse used to be was large castle and on it was a a red flag with black logo resembling a dragons skull. They also saw in the distance Little Homeoworld no longer there, instead was a large stadium.
Gray: Whoa, is this where Salamandas lives?
Revenger: Yes, this was once our home.
They saw the Aerodroids land. They got out binoculars and watched as they placed down the container. It was near a large statue that was being built. They saw human slaves building it and were up to the knees with Gara Soldiers and Black Knight droids keeping watch on them. They saw that Spinel was on top of the crate and jumped off to meet her comrades, two of Salamandas's reincarnations.
One was Sargane. He was as tall as Pearl, completely covered in black and gold armor and was hunched like a football player with large shoulder pads, sticking out of them appeared to be sword handles. His face was covered what a resembled a silver kabuto mask with a face plate and a gold crest. The natural parts of his body you could see was his eyes, one was yellow and the other was all white with no pupil and a scar on it.
The other soldier was Char. He was as tall as Garnet and had a more humanoid look with green skin and long braided black hair along with pointed ears and yellow eyes. He was shown to have an athletic build with handsom looks also. He wore similar armor to Skekung but his one being white rather than bronze and didn't have skirt armor. He had earings, brown boots with blue leg warmers and a cape. Around his wrist appeared to be some kind of watch like control panel. The two approached Spinel with her delivery.
Char: Spinel, you're back sooner than expected.
Spinel: Of course, these humans I captured were so easy. I mean did they really think they were to hide from us forever.
Sargane: You sure you didn't slack off on this?
Spinel: I would never, Sargane. I mean do you really think that little of me?
Sargane: You goof around a lot, that's one thig.
Char: Nevermind that Sargane, release the slaves.
The Gara Soldiers opened up the crate and many humans exited out. Some of them were actually familiar faces, atleast to Revenger, Lars, Buck, Sour cream, Jenny, Kiki, Onion and Sadie. Revenger's eyes widened when he saw her.
Char: Alright slaves, get to work! No slacking off or you'll be King Salamandas's dinner!
Sargane: Get moving!
Revenger and Gray watched all of this. Revenger couldn't stand it.
Revenger: Alright that's it, I'm going in. Gray you stay here.
Gray: What? This what I've been training for.
Revenger: These are high ranked soldiers right there. You're not ready for them yet. Wait here.
Gray: ( mumbles) Yeah go and take all the fun.
Revenger gets down there and sneaks his way down, avoiding the soldiers until he was near Char and Sargane from behind.
Revenger: ( in his mind) Wait, I only see Char and Sargane, where's...
Spinel: Yoo hoo.
Revenger looked above him but saw Spinel merging her arms into a large hammer and hitting Revenger, exposing him. He fell to the ground and looked up and saw Char and Sargane looking down at him. Two Black Knight droids came and restrained him.
Char: Well, well, it's been years since we last saw you Revenger. For a while I thought you decided to hide knowing you'd lose.
Revenger: I don't back down after a few fights, just reloading my weapons.
Sargane: Is it just him? Where is that swordswoman?
Revenger: Sorry, but she ain't here today.
Sargane: You're not stupid enough to come alone. Who else is here?
Revenger: No one!
Char: Really, that tone of yours sounded a bit alarmed. Should have brought Malaka with us to read your mind. Guards!
Two Aerodroids approached Char.
Char: Fly up and look around the area. If you see anything, shoot to kill.
Revenger gasped. The Aerodroids flew up into the sky and searched.
Gray saw the two Aerodroids approaching to his spot, he was freaking.
Gray: Oh crap, not now. What do I do? What do I do!?
They were getting closer as Gray tried to think. He remembered his training and thought of the cross beam he practiced a long while back. But he only used on dummies, not the actual enemy. But he didn't have many options. With a serious look he stepped in front of them. The Aerodroids saw him and flew faster nose dive at them. He concentrated on his energy and formed his arms into a cross. The top of his hand began to glow and shot out a blue energy beam at the two, blowing them to pieces. Char, Sargane, Spinel and Revenger saw from the bottom.
Char: What was that?
Sargane: I knew it, he's not alone! Who else is here!
Revenger: No one!
That's when they saw something fly up and then coming down at them top speed. Then the figure landed in fron of them, Gray with his sword and a serious look.
Char: Wha...uh...a kid?
Sargane: He wasn't the one who did that did he?
Revenger: No Gray! Get away now!
Spinel: Gray huh? That's sounds like a dull name. How about Little Gray, no, no, no Wittle Gway, that sounds better!
Char: Forget the name Spinel. You there, imprison him.
Another Black Knight droid approached him from behind and was about to restrain him. But his instincts and reflexes in training began to kick in. Before the Black Knight droid could grab him, Gray jumped up in the air and kicked the Knight in the face, shattering the head into pieces. Char, Sargane, Spinel and Revenger gasped with startled faces as the Knight droid fell to the ground.
Spinel: Oh you naughty boy!
Spinel stretched her arm to grab him, but Gray grabbed her arm and spun her around and threw her at Char and Sargane, knocking them down. He drew out his sword and attacked the Knights holding Revenger, taking them down easily and freeing Revenger.
Gray: How was that?
Revenger: Don't get full of yourself kid, this fight isn't over yet.
They turned back to Char, Sargane and Spinel. Along with them were a group of Gara Soldiers.
Char: What is this? How did one kid pull that off?
Sargane: Forget how!
Sargane grabbed the handles from his shoulder pads and pulled them out, which turned out to be swords.
Sargane: Attack them! Finish them!
Revenger: Remember your training.
Gray: Right!
And so the two took on the three. Revenger took on Char and Sargane while Gray had to fight Spinel.
Spinel: Well now, you're no ordinary kid are you?
Gray: No, and you're gonna pay for what you did to my dad?
Spinel: Dad...of course I know now, your his kid. I remember you, you were just a cute wittle baby brat! But I have been looking for someone to play with. So...
Spinel drew out her scythe and readied herself.
Spinel: Let's play a game you and I.
The two fought, though Gray mainly defended himself, Spinel was too fast and rough. He tried to slash her, but she dodged and tried to slash him. Gray got of the way, but go his cheek cut. Gray stepped back holding his cheek as blood dripped from it.
Spinel: Aw what's the matter, you gonna cry?
Gray glared at her as his hand began to glow and threw and energy ball at her, which she got hit and fell back.
Revenger: Gray!
Gray turned to Revenger who was in the middle of fighting Sargane and Char.
Revenger: Take down the guards and free the prisoners, have them all meet back here.
Gray: Okay!
Gray ran to the Gara Soldiers around the area, taking them down like they were nothing until finally meeting up with the slaved humans.
Gray: Is everyone okay?
Lars: How did you do that? Who are you?
Gray: I'll explain later, let's go.
The humans didn't hesitate and did as he said, they ran past him as he pointed where to go when Sadie met up with him.
Sadie: Hey uh, thank you. Your're doing a brave thing.
Gray looked at her and smiled.
Gray: Sure.
Revenger blocked many of Sargane's attacks, but when they locked their weapons together Revenger's shoulder cannon fired at Sargane knocking him down. He fought Char next, he only fought hand to hand combat, but he was very skilled and strong, his punches were so strong that one punche could kill a normal man. As they fought, Revenger grabbed the wrist device on Char's arm and ripped it off of him and punched him to the ground, meeting back with Gray.
Revenger: Gray, have everyone grab onto you and each other and you place your hand on me. We're getting out of here.
They did as he said and he placed his hand onto him. Char, Sargane and Spinel were back up.
Char: Do no let them get away!
They charged at them.
Revenger: Tell Salamandas that we'll back and his time will come to an end soon.
Revenger pressed the button combination on Char's device which allowed them all to telaport away.
Char: NO!
Spinel: They got away, and with the slaves too.
Sargane: I don't get it. This can't just happen, we had a whole army right here and, and...that kid. He messed this up.
Spinel: He was no ordinary kid, I think he's Steven Universe's kid.
Char: What? You mean that child is his son?
Sargane: Of course, he has gem powers which gave him a huge advantage. We should send out a search party and kill them.
Char: Where though? We have no idea where they are hiding.
Spinel: So what now?
Char: ( sighs) We'll have to report this to King Salamandas. He won't be happy with this.
Spinle: Or he might. He always said he was disappointed that Steven never gave him the fight he wanted.
Meanwhile at the forge.
The others were doing their own thing when suddenly a whole bunch of people warped inside. Everyone was confused as they looked around.
Bismuth: Whoa, what's all this? Did you guys plan Gray's 13th birthday party without me.
Peridot: No and how would we get this many people?
Buck: Oh man, that was trippy.
Lars: Wait where are we now? And why is it so hot in here?
Gray stood by Revenger as they looked at each other.
Revenger: That was the most reckless and dangerous thing you've ever done.
But then he placed his hand onto his head and nodded.
Revenger: Not bad for your first time kid.
Connie: Gray!
Gray turned to his mom who had a worried look. She rushed over to him and kneeled down to hug him.
Connie: Are you okay?
Gray: I'm fine mom.
She lets go and see's the cut on his cheek.
Connie: You're face! What happened? Who did this to you?!
Then she looked at Revenger and her worried face turned into anger.
Connie: You took him to a battlefield didn't you?!
Revenger: He's fine, I can explain everything.
Connie: I made it clear you can train him, but not to fight!
Gray: Mom wait, I jumped in.
Connie: Why, just why?
Gray: Revenger was going to die. I couldn't let that happen.
Revenger: Connie you should have seen him. He hadn't mastered his powers yet, but he managed to take down a army of soldiers and look at this. These humans were slaves to Salamandas.
Then he heard a familiar voice coming from behind, he turned and saw Sadie.
Sadie: Revenger!
Sadie hugged him, he hugged her back.
Revenger: It's been years Sadie. I thought you were killed.
Sadie: Most of us were hiding underground in Empire City, until we were caught. I thought you were killed along with Steven.
Revenger: No, some of us are still here.
Sadie then noticed Connie.
Sadie: Connie is that you?
Connie: Hello Sadie.
Gray: Wait mom you know her too?
Sadie: Hold on, mom? This is your kid? Wait, are you Steven's son.
Gray: Well yes, have we met?
Sadie: You don't remember me, but I met you when you were just a baby. I was friends with your dad.
Lars: Wait hold on. You're telling me we were saved by Steven's kid?
Sour Cream: Wow man, you were great.
Buck: You're a strong kid, just like your dad was.
Kiki: We thank you for saving us.
Jenny: Yeah thanks, but what do we now?
Everyone was talking to each other confused on what to do next.
Revenger: Connie.
Connie turned to Revenger.
Revenger: He is our one chance to save this world. For once we have hope. Let me train him further to be the strongest ever.
Connie looked down, concerend for his son. He felt Gray hold her hand. Connie looked back at Revenger.
Connie: Okay, but know this. If he gets killed... I will never forgive you.
Revenger only nodded to her.
Revenger: Gray, come with me.
Gray followed Revenger as he got everyone's attention.
Revenger: Attention everyone! Attention!
They all went queit and looked at Revenger.
Revenger: For the past 10 years, we've been living in fear and hiding from Salamandas. Though there's not many of us left and many major cities have been destroyed, but today we have discovered hope. This boy, Gray Universe! We saved you, but now we ask something in return, fight by our side. I know this will be terrifying and many of you might die. But we must show that we are not just insects and pests to be exterminated. We must show them that this is our planet. That this is our home!
Everyone cheered for him raising their arms, forming the resistance.
End of Flashback
Gray: And that began to human resistance. For the next 7 years I would continue training as well as going on missions with my new team, freeing more humans and later gems, raiding Gara Droid factories for weapons and once the castle, that was when we learned about Salamanda's origin and the plans of time travel.
Pearl: So, this was the rebellion all over again.
Steven: So,you've been fighting in a war all this time.
Gray: Yeah, I've mastered almost all my powers. But as time went on we faced many downfalls. I lost many of my friends and even you Revenger.
Revenger: Me?
Gray: Yes, you died six months ago from my timeline.
Revenger: Hmm, I failed didn't I.
Gray: No, you were a great soldier and leader.
Garnet: So, you managed to build a time machine?
Peridot: Wait I don't get it. How did we even get the idea of time travel? How did I make plans or know how to do it.
Gray: Actually during my first raid at Salamandas's castle, we stumbled upon an archive room. There was a file for unmade plans and schematics from Gien. One of them being a time machine that he cancel due to how complicated it was. We took it back to you and Bismuth in hopes you can make it so we can stop his birth. It took five years, but you managed to pull it off.
Amethyst: So wait, how did Spinny and Dinobutt get here as well.
Gray: ( sighs) I was a little careless. The last part I needed for the time machine was from Salamandas' castle, but I got injured in a fight. As I flew away, Skekung must have gotten my scent from dropplets of my blood. He a bloodthirsty predator. I made it back to base without noticing them.
Flashback.
Connie and Sapphire were tending to Gray's wound on his back shoulder in the infurmary where the remaining humans were, the only familar face left was Lars. Peridot and Bismuth added to the finishing touches to the time machine. It was a large circular hollow ring with a computer system attached to it.
Peridot: That's it, it's done.
Bismuth: But does it work?
Peridot: Let's see.
They activated it as a black and white portal opened up.
Bismuth: Haha yeah!
Peridot: I don't believe it. It worked.
Gray: Did you guys do it?
Peridot: Yup! Take a look.
The others gathered and saw in amazement.
Sapphire: That's it, it's done.
Lars: Okay so it's done, now what?
Peridot: Well, I'm able to set this back 29 years in the past. Now at that time, we were still in the making of Little Homeworld so Salamandas and Gray hasn't been born yet, Steven and Connie were still teens and the Gara Droids were still on Homeworld.
Bismuth: Okay so who's gonna go and warn them about it.
Connie: I'll go.
Peridot: Actually Connie, I intended Gray to go.
Gray: Me?
Peridot: Yes. If Connie was to go and meet her past self it would cause a paradox, even being there would cause it. Because Gray hasn't been born yet, he can get there without causing any paradox. Gray listen carefully. You need to go there. Warn your dad and all of us on what's coming and where Salamandas is being made. Have them stop him from being born. Once you do, you should fade and end back here.
Gray: Should they know who I am?
Peridot: Well um...I think it's best to keep your identity a secret, just in case to prevent any bad changes.
Connie: You sure you want to do this?
Gray: I have no choice mom. I mean, I always wanted to meet dad along with everyone else.
Connie: I know. You've become so strong.
Connie gives him a hug and kiss on his head.
Connie: Be safe and just come home and go meet your dad.
Gray: Okay mom.
He lets go and goes to Sapphrie kneeling down to her.
Sapphire: Look at you, you were so cute when you were little. Now you're such a strong young man.
Gray blushes a a little.
Gray: Come on I wasn't that cute.
Sapphire places her hand onto his cheek.
Sapphire: You be careful okay. And if they do find out who you are, please tell Ruby how much I miss her.
Gray: I will Sapphire.
Gray hugs her tightly goodbye. He gets up and goes to Bismuth, but then Lars goes to him.
Lars: Gray wait.
Gray: Yeah Lars?
Lars: Look I um... well, I know I'm not the strongest soldier on this team and I'm not good with words either but, I want you to know it was great working with you and if changing the past changes the future and we forget each other. I hope we can meet again, maybe I can be your Uncle Lars.
Gray:Ha, sure. I hope so too.
Gray forms his hand into a fist as the two fist pumps. Now he goes Bismuth as she pulled him into a tight hug. A little too tight.
Bismuth: You...you are really something else. Just like your dad.
Gray: Bismuth...you're...cru-crushing...
Bismuth: Oh sorry, listen I do hope you get to know Pearl. I know she'd love you a lot.
Gray: I'll try to get to know everyone.
Bismuth: Alright, now get out there and show them you mean Bismuth.
Gray: Hmph sure.
Then he went up to Lion petting him.
Gray: Gotta go now buddy. Take good care of mom and everyone.
Lion responds by licking his face.
Peridot: Gray, a word.
Peridot and Gray a private talk, although they were only whispering it and no one could hear what they were saying.
Peridot: So you sure you still want to do this.
Gray: Yes, this is what I was born to do.
Peridot: I'm really sorry you had to get involved in this.
Gray held her hand.
Gray: I had to eventually Peridot, I'm glad to be who I am right now.
Peridot: Are you nervous?
Gray: A little, but I'm willing to do this for everyone. And this is my chance to meet dad and the others. I hope they're as great as you guys say they are.
Peridot: They are, you be careful.
Gray: ( nods) I will, until we meet again.
Peridot teared up a bit and hugged him. He hugged her back and soon lets go. He got his helmet on and turned to everyone one last time.
Gray: I won't let you guys down. This will be over soon.
But just before he could enter the portal, the entrance bursted open and it was Skekung.
Gray: Skekung!
Skekung: Hahaha! Did you think you could run away from us. I can smell you from the blood you spilled.
Spinel: Skekung, I didn't say you could attack!
Gray: Oh great, not you too.
Skekung: Let's take him down already. Skeku-u-u-u-ung charge!
Skekung charged at Gray. Spinel tried to grab him but instead was being pulled with him. Gray stood his ground to hold him down, but he got pushed as the three of them went into the portal, sending them to the past.
End of Flashback
Gray: They fell into the portal with me and...well you pretty much no the rest of the story. But enough about me, what about the ship you found.
Pearl: Well it's still there as I remembered. But it's in rough condition.
Gray: So it can't fly?
Pearl: It just needs some refurbishments. It'll probably take a week to thoroughly check it.
Garnet: Don't worry, we will stop the future from happening. We should thank you for coming to warn us and help us.
Steven: Yeah, you really helped us a lot here.
Gray gave her a small smile and nodded.
Gray: You're welcome and thanks for helping me back there dad.
Steven just nods to him feeling a bit odd that he was just called dad.
Connie: Well we're glad your fine, but um... I think you need a shower. You kinda stink.
Gray grabbed hold on his tank top and smelled and she was right, he did smell.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. Sorry again it took a while, but along with some writers block, the amount I had to write, I'm dealing with a lot right now with moving. But I think I have an idea what to write for the next few chapters. Sorry this was a long one, but I had a lot to say and even had to cut out a lot of scenes, but I have plans for some other flashbacks in later chapters.
