Chapter 13: The Gara Droid Homeworld

It's been a couple hours after Steven and the others blasted off into space. Greg was near the temple and by his side were Lion and Charlie. He just looked up with a bit of worry on his face.

Charlie: You doing okay Greg?

Greg: Ah , Oh, I swear I'm still not used to you talking. I'm fine it's just, just a little concerned about Steven, Gray and everyone doing this. Facing the Gara Droids again. I mean honestly that's nothing too new but this time they're going into space and this time it's to save the future. I mean I know I can't do much, but worry if they don't come back.

Charlie: I worry too as well. Especially for Peridot and Lapis since they took me in. But the only thing we can do is just have faith in them. They all have each others back.

Greg: Yeah your right. Can't believe I'm actually taking advice from a dog.

But then the wind began to blow and looked up and saw the sky starting to crack and the time portal opened up. Greg was being blown away until Lion grabbed onto the back of his shirt with his teeth. They saw four red orbs flying down the beach and exploding upon impact. The portal closed as Greg covered his face from the sand blowing into his face. He looked and saw King Salamandas, Char, Sargane and Malaka standing there and looking around.

King Salamandas: So we're here. Looking back at what kingdom used to be, this is really unappealing. Yes.

Char: They should be around here some where your majesty.

Sargane: There's the temple over there. Let's look.

The four of them were approaching until they stopped and saw Greg with Lion and Charlie growling at the two.

King Salamandas: Oh, what do we have here?

Malaka: Wait I recognize that lion. It's the pet of that boy.

King Salamadas: It is. Yes. You there human. Is this the hideout of a mysterious boy and Steven Universe.

Greg: Uh, I...no uh no one's home.

Greg covered his mouth realizing he shouldn't have said that.

King Salamandas: No one's home you say? Then you wouldn't happen to know where they are now, do you?

Greg: No I don't know!

King Salamandas: You sure you don't know?

Greg: Yes.

King Salamandas: Okay. Alright, I hear you. Get him.

Sargane and Char approached him but Lion and Charlie attacked the two. They each used their own sonic wave roar or bark to attack. Lion let out a roar attack at Sargane. He cut the wave away with his swords and tried slashing Lion but missed. Then he charged up his swords lightning was flowing out of them. He plunged his swords into the ground which sent an electric wave at Lion, hitting him and knocking him down.

Charlie went after Char. Charlie barked a sonic wave as Char jumped up and ran towards him. He barked a portal and went through it. Char looked confused for a moment until Charlie appeared from behind and bit him on the arm. Char shook him off and before Charlie could attack again, Char kicked him from the side body which knocked him down. Char and Sargane approached Greg and brought him to King Salamandas.

King Salamandas: I know they were here. So where are they?

Greg: I don't know where they are.

King Salamandas looked annoyed and his tail wrapped around Greg's neck strangling him.

King Salamandas: You will tell me unless you really want me to snap your neck.

Malaka: Wait my lord. He doesn't need to tell us. Bring him down a little.

King Salamandas does what he says and Malaka places his hand on Greg's head. His eyes began to glow as he was reading his mind.

Malaka: AAAH! They're heading to the Gem Homeworld. They plan to destroy you before you were born.

King Salamandas: Of course it makes sense. They can't kill me in the future so they try to do so in the past. Clever. Very clever. We must go now. ( to Greg) As for you.

King Salamandas lets go of Greg.

King Salamandas: I'll let you go for now. I mean I don't want to take up this place for my past self. I'm only here for one target only. Yes!

King Salamadas spread his wings and flew up. Char flew up after him and Malaka formed a force field around him and Sargane for the both of them and flew with the others.

Greg breathed heavily as he, Lion and Charlie watched them fly into space. Charlie was trying to get up as Lion helped him up.

Charlie: Thanks. I'm okay.

Sadie: Greg!

Sadie was running towards him

Sadie: Greg you alright? What happened? What was that?

Greg: A bad guy. From the future.

Sadie: What?

Greg: It's a long story.

Then Ronaldo was coming.

Ronaldo: Hey yo! That was big! Was that something important?

Greg: Yeah, I think it's from those robots in your book.

Ronaldo: What? They're still trying to get us? Aw man I really wanted catch this on camera. This could have setted up for my next book. Oh well, I'll ask Steven when he gets back.

Greg: Steven...Gray...he's coming for you.

Meanwhile at Homeworld.

Homeworld, former home planet for gems is now the headquarters for the remaining Gara Droids. After their crushing defeat two years ago and losing their creator and leader, they retreated back into space. As they plot their revenge, they found Pink Diamond's garden and to their surprise was a gem that survived the attack or wasn't even aware of it, Spinel. Seeing how she too was betrayed by Pink Diamond, head members Viggo and Huntress took her in to be part of the group and to continue a forgotton project of Gien that he started so long ago but never finished. The creation of Experiment SA-X.

We cut to a training room where the present Spinel was standing with her scythe in her hand. Then four floating orbs approached her. The began to glow and shot out a laser at her. Spinel jumped out of the way as the orbs kept firing at her. She deflected each attack with her scythe and one of the deflected projectiles destroyed one of them. She kept bouncing and stretching around, dodging each attack and she cut another orb in half with he scythe. Once she landed the two orbs were about to fire from each side of her. She took advantage of this and timed it right where once they fired, she jumped up and they ended up destroying each other. Spinel landed and breathed heavily as she completed her training.

Spinel: Alright! I beat the next level. I hope Huntress saw it.

Spinel exited out the training room ran out.

Spinel: Hey Huntress! Did you see, did you see...OH!

Spinel however wasn't paying attention and ran into Snaptrap's back. He turned to he looking angry with Leozack, Kanedama and Gungan accompanying him.

Snaptrap: Hey watch it!

Spinel: Oh sorry Captain Snaptrap.

Snaptrap: Ugh, it's Spinel.

Spinel: Guys guess what? Guess what?! I just beat level 75 on the training simulator. I'm improving.

Gungan: You barely passed it now?

Snaptrap: Please, anybody can ace through the simulator.

Spinel: Yeah but I've been stuck on this level for a month.

Leozack: Yeah, cause you're not a machine like us.

Spinel: Well, yeah but...

Kanedama: Yeah, because your're just a gem. Not a perfect machine like us. Coin!

Spinel: Whatever! You guys are just jealous.

Snaptrap: Yeah? Of what?

Spinel: Of...of my scythe weilding skills and abilities..

Snaptrap: Yes the scythe Master Viggo made for you. Without it, you're just a joke. A goofball, just like what you Spinels are known for.

Spinel: ( looks away) No, I'm different. I'm...AH!

But as Spinel was walked pass them, Snaptrap placed his tail to the front of her feet, making he trip and fall.

Snaptrap: See? Typical goofy Spinel!

The four of them laughed at her as she just got up and ran through the halls away from them.

Leozack: Hahaha! There she goes crying again.

Snaptrap: Yeah, what a clown! Hahahaha!

Then they heard someone clear their throat behind them. They turned and saw Huntress glaring at the four. They saw her and immedietlhy stopped laughing.

Snaptrap: AH, Huntress!

Huntress: What was so funny?

Snaptrap: Uh er, Kanedama was just telling us a joke.

Kanedama: What?

Leozack: Yeah, it...it was a good joke too.

Huntress: Really? Let me hear it.

Snaptrap: Uh, yeah come on Kanedama. Let's hear it.

Kanedama: Guys! Uh...coin...

Huntress: Well? I'm waiting.

Kanedama: Uh ha, yes uh...so why uh...why couldn't the 11 year old make it to the pirate movie? Coin.

Huntress: Why?

Kanedama: Because it was rated r. Coin.

Kanedama made a nervouse laugh as Huntress didn't look amused.

Huntress: You four have very poor taste in comedy. But I won't judge you too much for that.

Huntress went towards Snaptrap and grabbed his snout, pulling him down to her face, giving him a menacing glare.

Huntress: I mean it was a joke you were laughing at. Not our recruit in training again right?

Snaptrap: No, no! We were just playing around.

Leozack: With hard times we are facing, we must stick together.

Gungan: Yes.

Huntress: Alright.

Huntress lets go of Snaptrap.

Huntress: Report at the bridge. I think Viggo might send you on your next mission.

Four of them: Yes commander!

The leave as Huntress looks for Spinel. She soon finds her sitting on a bridge with a frown. She went towards her sat next to her.

Huntress: They're not going to bother you anymore. I made sure of that.

Spinel: Thanks. I guess.

Huntress: Ignore them Spinel. You're improving a lot.

Spinel: Yeah but the others don't seem to be amazed.

Huntress: Ignore them. Gara Droids never always got along wtih gems.

Spinel: They seem to respect you. Your technically a gem too aren't you?

Huntress: Well yeah. Though you know sometime after I was given this new body by Gien, most droids and gems saw me as a freak or thought I wouldn't be capable of being an elite. Yet here I am. How did this happen?

Spinel: Um, because you're just that good.

Huntress: ( chuckles) Yeah I am. And these past couple years of training you, it's paying off. You'll make a great elite one day that they will tremble before you.

Spinel finally smiles and hugs Huntress.

Spinel: Thanks Huntress. That's why you're my new best friend since you guys found me.

Huntress hugged her back but lets go we she heard her communicator go off.

Huntress: Viggo's calling us. Let's go.

Meanwhile

We cut to what used to be Gien's lab. Now run by Viggo Strkyer. In the center was an incubation chamber of a small embryo creature as he was monitoring it, making sure it was recieving the nutrients from the planet it was feeding on through the cables connected from the ground the chamber. As he was working, Huntress and Spinel enter.

Huntress: You called Viggo.

Viggo: Ah Huntress. Yes we...

Spinel: Heeeeey Viggo!

Huntress: Ur, yes hello Spinel. We're in need...

Spinel: Whatcha doin?

Viggo: ( groans) Still working on the project that will save our kind. I called you here...

Spinel: Oh, do we have a mission? What's the mission?!

Viggo: YES! As I was trying to say before being rudely interupted! We're in need of more gartronium. Our supply on it is running low. Take the team and head out to a planet to get some.

Spinel: ( jumpig up and down) Ooh! Ooh! Can I come?

Viggo: Absolutly not!

Spinel: But I never been on a mission before. I'm always here training, I want to go out there. Please Huntress?

Huntress: Spinel...

Spinel: Pretty please? Pretty please with a capital P on it?

Huntress looks at her pleading face and couldn't resist her cutness. She sighns and pats her head.

Huntress: Well, this would be good practice for her if we're to return to Earth. Okay Spinel, you can come but promise you take this seriously.

Spinel: ( hugs her) Oh thank you, thank you, thank you Huntress! You're the best! I won't let you down, let me get ready.

Spinel leaves to get her things leaving the two alone.

Viggo: I can't believe you just did that.

Huntress: What? Letting her go on this mission with me?

Viggo: Yes! She's inexperienced child. She's going to mess this up for us.

Huntress: Have faith in her Viggo. She's improving. You should have seen her in the training simulator.

Viggo: She better be.

Huntress: Do you doubt my training skills? I've trained gems and weak droids back in the day.

Viggo: But you seem to have grown soft on this particular gem. Even though we shattered all the gems here, which we have not told her still.

Huntress: She's going through a lot right now and... she kinda reminds me of myself back before I turned into this. I mean other than you and I guess Snaptrap, I don't really have any one else I can truly call as a friend. She will make a great addition to the team and she doesn't need to know about what we did. She's one of us now. And I am not soft Viggo. I still want revenge on the Crytal Gems and Steven for killing the love of my life.

Viggo: We all do. It'll still take a few more years but once Experiment SA-X is born, he will be our key to victory.

Huntress: You really think this will work?

Viggo: Yes. This was meant to be Gien's ultimate creation and it would have been years ago had the Diamonds not forced him to stop because it will make the planet completely uninhabitable.

Huntress: But once that happens we can't really live here anymore either.

Viggo: We won't need to. The Earth is rich with energy resources for us to take. It will be our new Homeworld. Just as our Lord intended. Now, go. Get us more eneryg.

Huntress: Yes sir.

Huntress leaves as Viggo gazed at Experiment SA-X.

Viggo: If only it was today you would be born SA-X. I could speed up the process, but I don't want to risk messing this up. No, I must follow the exact instructions Gien gave me if this was our final resort.

In space.

Huntress was with Spinel, Snaptrap as well as a couple other elites and Gara Soldiers, flying through space in hand shaped ship.

Huntress: What's the next planet we haven't farmed yet?

Leozack: This one commander. The planet Metron.

Huntress: Then set course there.

But then the radar was picking up something.

Huntress: What's going on?

Snaptrap: Something is on the radar. It's coming towards us.

Huntress: Put it on screen.

The screen opened up and they saw four figures flying at them. It King Salamandas and his incarnations.

Huntress: Set cannons at target.

The Gara Soldiers locked onto them.

Snaptrap: Target aquired.

Huntress: Fire away.

The ship fired it's laser cannons at them, but while they were hit, they kept on flying with no harm to them.

Huntress: What?

Spinel: They're still coming at us.

Snaptrap: What happened? Did we miss?

But Salamandas and his gang stopped right in front of the ship.

Snaptrap: What's going on? Why are they stopping?

Huntress: I don't know. Get the obsidian cannon ready to fire.

As the Gara Soldiers got the cannon set, Huntress took out the ships microphone and spoke to him.

Huntress: You four, stop where you are or we will fire.

King Salamandas: Now hold on. We don't need to take any drastic measures. No. Are you the Gara Droids of Homeworld?

Huntress: We are. I take it you've heard about us.

King Salamandas: And is that you Huntress?

Spinel: You know him Huntress?

Huntress: No, I don't. ( to Salamandas) How do you know my name?

King Salamandas: This is perfect. Huntress, why don't you let us in and we'll talk?

Snaptrap: HA! You think we're stupid enough to let you in our ship so you can blow us to smitherines?

Huntress: That's not happening. Why should we let you in?

King Salamandas: Because one I have some useful information you might want to know about. Something regarding Steven Universe and the Crytal Gems wanting to stop your future plans of world conquest.

Huntress let out a small gasp. Is this true she thought?

King: And two, if you do try to destroy me with that cannon of yours it won't work and I might have to be forced to destroy this ship instantly, but I'd rather not do that for reasons that are hard to explain right here. So what's it going to be?

Snaptrap: He's bluffing. He can't destroy us like that.

Gungan: But what if the part of Steven and the gems coming for us? Is that true?

Snaptrap: What do you want us to do?

Spinel: Huntress?

Huntress: Let them in. Let's hear out what he has to say.

They send out an orb for Salamandas to enter as he and the group does so. It takes them inside the ship.

King Salamandas: Ah, that's much better.

But as he looked around the ship, he saw Spinel standing behind Huntress.

King Salamandas: Spinel. Is that you?

Spinel: Uh...have we met mister?

Char: No, this isn't our Spinel. It's the one in the present.

King Salamandas: Yes I see.

Huntress: Okay what's going on? Who are you and how do you know some of us?

King Salamandas: Alright, alright settle down Huntress. You're as impatient as you always been. I am future leader of this team, Demon King Salamandas. But you might know me better as Experiment SA-X.

And there, Spinel is still here, this is the present one and the one we saw before was her future counterpart. But glad I got to write some old characters again. Will try to update again soon.
