Furrowing his eyebrows at Rose's words over the phone, Jack tensed noticeably before responding back to her. "Alright, we'll be right over." he said before hanging up the phone and starting up the car again. "They found him. But we need to get over there. They say they need you." he said, glancing over at Gaz momentarily.
Gaz sent him an odd look at that remark.
Jack sighed and turned off the engine again at the look Gaz was sending him. "I'm sorry...I should have told you before we left why I called you to help us find him. But I was too concerned about finding Dib at the time. He's...suffering a lot right now, because something happened to Zim..." he explained, having been in too much of a rush to fill Gaz in on everything that had happened.
Gaz narrowed her eyes on him. "What happened?" she asked, wanting to know what he was keeping from her.
"...Zim...is dead..." Jack looked away, closing his eyes. "I-I didn't want to tell you at first because I wasn't in the room to hear the details of how it happened from Purple...B-But...What I do know is that before this all happened, Dib was hurt very badly...That's why it's so crucial that we find him. And from what Rose told me over the phone, things aren't looking too good where they are." he said, their earlier phone call having left his blood chilled.
Gaz's eyes widened at this bit of information. "Then what are you doing sitting here talking to me about it for?! STEP ON IT!" she said in all too demanding of a voice, not wanting to sit there discussing this with him when Dib was hurt and waiting for them to come and tend to him.
Jack nodded his head at her demand. "Right." he started up the car again and pulled out of his parking space to drive as quickly as he legally could to the park where Rose and Purple were waiting.
Barely waiting for Jack to park the car, Gaz jumped out of it as soon as she could and ran towards the bathrooms.
Grabbing the bag of supplies he had packed at home, Jack, meanwhile, followed after her once he had parked the car.
Waiting by the doorway, Purple turned to look back at them as they approach, Rose having been trying since then to calm Dib down, though he only continued to scream whenever she got anywhere near him.
Gaz pushed past Purple and into the room. "Dib?!" she exclaimed as soon as she had located him.
"Oh, thank goodness you're here. He's hallucinating. He's not seeing us as...well...'us'!"
Gaz looked down at him, soaking wet and shivering as he remained balled up against the wall under the sink. She then looked away momentarily, wincing at the condition he was in. "Dib..." she took a step forward towards him, hoping he'd recognize her.
His antennae falling back as he let out a low growl, Dib instantly reacted to the step forward by trying to push himself farther under the sink against the wall. "STAY AWAY FROM ME!" he screamed at her, glaring and panting, curled around his swollen belly protectively out of instinct more than anything else as the Irken half of him suddenly seemed to take over the coherent part of his mind.
Eyes widening at the shout, Gaz then glared at him slightly. "Anyone have something to knock him out with?" she asked under her breath as she stepped closer, determined to get her brother out of there.
"Now, when you say 'knock him out,' are you talking more of a sedative or something to literally 'KNOCK HIM OUT' with?" Purple asked, emphasizing his last three words, not really wanting to hurt Dib any more than he already was but at the same time not sure what else they could do at this point.
"Whatever works."
Purple bit his bottom lip. "W-Well...I-I could run back to Zim's base and see if I could find a sedative there. B-But it would take me at least 15 minutes to get back." he said, knowing Zim must keep some back at his base.
Gaz bit her own lip at that suggestion. "Not enough time. We need to get him out of here now." she turned to face Dib again before stepping forward once more.
Trembling as she approached closer, Dib stared at her wide-eyed. "NO! LEAVE ME ALONE!" he screamed at her again, this time breaking down more. He felt her suddenly reach out to grab him and jerked back violently, thrashing about in an attempt to get away. "LEAVE ME ALONE! LEAVE ME ALONE! LEAVE ME ALONE!" he finally managed to pull away, though not before tearing part of his shirt in the process, causing Gaz to fall back with the piece of shirt that had torn off in her hand.
Gaz's eyes widened at his reaction. "DIB, CUT IT OUT! I'M YOUR SISTER!" she glared at him and got up again to come storming over so she could slap him across the face. "GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!" she said, partially snapping him out of his current confusion.
Letting out a pained yelp at the slap and backing away even more, Dib stared up at her terrified now. "L-Leave me...alone...Please...J-Just...leave me...alone…" he pulled his knees to his chest and broke down completely.
Sighing at those words, Gaz grabbed him a second time to pull him out from under the sink as he was crying too hard to stop her now. "Someone want to give me a hand here?" she glanced back at the room full of people, needing at least some help to pull him out the rest of the way.
Struggling just a bit more against her, though weakly this time, Dib's antennae fell back, not liking this at all as he just about resigned to his fate, no longer having the fight left in him to try and pull away as Rose came forward to kneel down near him and help Gaz pull him out.
Gaz sighed once they managed to pull him out from under the sink. "Let's get him home…Well…Maybe to your house." she glanced back at Jack and Rose, thinking it a bad idea to bring him back to Zim's base anytime soon.
"Our house is just fine." Jack stepped forward to carefully scoop Dib up before turning to Rose. "Can you call Lily and tell her we found Dib and are bringing him back to our house? I told them to go search out by the school." he then said, not wanting to keep them out searching for him now that they had found him.
Nodding her head, Rose whipped out her cell phone as Gaz followed Jack back to his car.
Getting in after helping to get Dib into the back seat, Gaz sat next to him to keep him from freaking out any more. "Let's hurry it up. He needs medical attention." she said, taking note of all the blood currently staining his clothes.
Hearing this, Purple nodded. "I'll contact the medical drone to meet us at Jack's house." he said, completely disregarding the fact that it was raining out and the medical drone had no idea where they lived.
"Would you rather we just stop by there on our way back?" Jack looked out the window at the rain. "I'll bet we could squeeze one last person in here if we needed to. And it might be faster that way." he said as Rose finished her call and climbed into the back seat with Dib and Gaz, not wanting to leave Dib's side until they were sure he'd be okay.
"Go ahead and get in the front seat, Purple. Zim got pretty car sick riding in the back when we first drove with him. It might not be so bad if you sit in front." Rose said, just wanting to get a move on already so they could get Dib somewhere safe.
A/N: And there you have it for Chapter 156. =3 Until next time~
