A/N: Hey, you guys. Quick update since I don't have much to say in regards to this chapter. Just thought I'd let you all know though that, like the last chapter, this is a slightly (emphasis on slightly again) altered version of the original version, which can be found over on DA. It's literally like only one sentence changed in this chapter, but still, I've had far tamer content removed in the past. So yeah, if you must read the non-PG-13 version of this chapter, just look it up over on DA. Otherwise, hope you all enjoy this quick update! :) It will be my last update of the week since I have a kind of hectic schedule ahead of me this following week. I will, however, continue working on chapters so I have them ready for posting next week. So until then, please stay tuned!

Groaning as he finally finished up after several long minutes of self-pleasuring himself, Zim nearly collapsed onto the toilet lid beneath him and panted out relieved.
Hearing the toilet flushing from his spot inside the bedroom and then the sound of the bathroom door opening as the Irken returned to the room a few minutes later, Dib didn't respond or even move as the other finally entered the room to join him again, everything inside of him just hurting in that moment. He didn't want contact or Zim to be anywhere near him any longer.
Zim glanced at Dib sadly from his spot near the door. "Dib...What's wrong?" he asked, sensing the other's changed demeanor.
"Go away..." Dib's voice came out broken, his antennae shuddering before drooping again. As absurd as the thought was, he almost felt as if he had been cheated on by Zim's hand.
Zim froze in the doorway at those words. "D-Dib..." he looked hurt again.
"Just leave me alone! It's not fair! I didn't want things to be like this!" Dib broke into tears, curling in on himself even more. "Th-This isn't the way things are supposed to be!" he then exclaimed, hurt by the fact that Zim wouldn't let him prove himself still able to do this. It didn't matter if he was still hurt and ill. He wanted to be the only one who pleasured Zim.
Zim's antennas drooped down further. "Dib, I…Grr, YOU THINK I WANT THINGS TO BE THIS WAY?! LIFE ISN'T FAIR! It's bad enough I can't trust myself not to hurt you. You're all I ever think about nowadays!" he exploded on the other, not any happier about the situation than Dib currently was.
Pulling his knees to his chest and clapping his hands over his antennas, Dib could only curl up even more at all the yelling. "I don't want you to worry so much about me if we can't be together because of it!" he yelled back, not wanting to listen to anymore of Zim's excuses about the matter.
Zim stared back at him wide eyed at that outburst. "Wh-Who said we couldn't be together?" he stared back at the hybrid confused.
"Your fucking hand!" Dib stood up abruptly to storm out of the room past Zim, just wanting to get away. If they couldn't be together physically any longer, then what was the point?! He didn't want Zim to be afraid of hurting him because otherwise the other would never get over it and want to physically be with him again. Always afraid of hurting him, he'd avoid physical contact for the rest of their life, never knowing when the time would be right.
Zim stared after him wide-eyed, confused, and hurt. "D-Dib..." he whined to himself and yanked on his antennae momentarily before going to follow after him.
"Save it!" Dib yelled back, not wanting to hear what Zim had to say as he headed for the stairs. That's when he felt a sharp pain ripping through his abdomen, causing him to yelp in pain and collapse onto his knees.
"DIB!" Zim ran quickly to the hybrid's side, pulling him close. "Dib, what's wrong?! What happened?!" he exclaimed, looking the other over terrified now.
Dib shifted somewhat uncomfortably in Zim's arms. "I-I don't know...I-It was like the smeets were kicking...b-but not kicking at the same time...A...spasm in my stomach..." he tried to explain what he had just felt in his abdomen.
Looking worried, Zim held him closer. "I-It can't be time yet. It's too soon, but…" he bit his lip before turning to shout for help. "JACK! ROSE!" he yelled at practically the top of his lungs.
A bit shaken by the spasm, Dib waited in Zim's arms, shaking, as both Jack and Rose came bounding up the stairs in a hurry at the yell.
"What is it?! What's wrong?!" Rose asked, eyes growing wide before kneeling down next to Zim and Dib when she found them on the floor near the top of the stairs.
"Do you need me to get the doctor?!" Jack asked once he had reached the top also, ready to run back downstairs and find the doctor if need be.
"I-I don't know…I think he had a contraction." Zim said, completely freaked out at this point.
Reaching forward, Rose took one of Dib's hands in her own. "Dib? Dib, does it hurt at all?" she asked, not wanting to jump to any conclusions about what had happened just yet.
Dib shakily brought his gaze up to meet hers. "I-I...It was...uncomfortable...A-A little painful at first...B-But just uncomfortable afterwards..." he tried to explain a second time.
Still scared and worried about him, Zim held Dib close.
"Alright then. Hold off on getting the doctor just yet, Jack. Before we jump to any conclusions, let's just get him back to bed and wait a little while to see if they continue, and if so, whether they hurt Dib. There's a good chance they may just be false contractions."
"F-False contractions?" Zim held Dib tighter, not letting Jack touch him even when he moved in to try and help the two up.
"Don't worry, Zim. False contractions are perfectly normal. They're just the body's way of preparing him for real labor. In fact, it will be good for him to experience them from time to time."
Zim held Dib closer, still sending her an odd and rather skeptical look. How could anything painful be helpful?
Rose could see the doubt in Zim's face still. "Zim, I promise. These are going to be good for him to experience. They're not as painful as you think, just a little uncomfortable at times. But without them, it would probably hurt him a whole lot more when he really does go into labor. They're meant to get his muscles ready for pushing out the smeets." she tried to explain to him, having actually begun experiencing a few herself a few weeks back.
Biting down on his bottom lip, Zim slowly nodded his head before nuzzling Dib softly for comfort. "O-Okay..." he said as he finally allowed her to help him get Dib back up onto his feet.
"Come on. Let's get him back into bed." Rose helped Zim lead Dib back towards the bedroom. "Take it easy for a few hours and let us know whether they continue. If so, there may be a few things we can try to make them stop, or at least make them more bearable." she said, hoping that was all they were.
Glancing at Dib worriedly, Zim merely nodded his head in agreement.
Helping Dib back into bed, Rose then offered him a glass of water she had brought up earlier. "Try to stay hydrated. That might be what triggered it." she instructed only to have Dib turn his head away.
Zim watched as Dib rejected the glass and sighed. "Please drink it, Dib..." he said before reaching out to pet back his hair in the hopes this would help coax him into cooperating.
"Dib, please...It will make you feel better."
Not wanting it however, Dib merely shrunk down under the covers a bit. "But I don't think that's what triggered it. I don't feel dehydrated." he said between wet sniffles, just trying to keep back his tears at this point.
"You wouldn't feel dehydrated but that doesn't mean that's not the case. You still need to eat and drink, Dib."
Still not wanting to eat or drink anything in that moment, Dib's antennae could only fall back at Zim's words. "...I want to sleep..." he then turned over onto his left side, facing away from them and refusing to take their advice despite their continued pleading.
A/N: And there you have it for Chapter 172. Until next time~
