This happened the same night as the last chapter. And also… Jay suffering goes brrrrrr

Fun facts:

- this was inspired by a meme in YT

- since I headcanonned Day of the Departed at November 1, this was like after Christmas

- Cole is a very good liar (I mean this dude manage to keep his ninja life a secret from his own dad for like what months? years?)

I do not own Ninjago

Jay couldn't sleep, not that he have insomnia or something.

He just couldn't forget about that figure, though it was brief, he knew there was something familiar about it.

He just couldn't put a finger on it.

Seconds turns to minutes, minutes into hours, he finally realized who it was.

It was Nadakhan…

Why was he here? Is he planning to get revenge on me? What if he's here right now? I need to get out!

Jay rushed out of his room just to be met by a painful surprise.

He was getting shock… by his own lightning.

Meanwhile at the kitchen,

"How many times do you eat in a day, like seriously," Morro asked Cole as he ate a slice of cake from their Christmas celebration.

"Depends," Cole answered.

That obviously did not satisfy Morro, "Depends on what?"

"Depends on–"

"ARGH!!!!!"

"Was that Jay?" Morro dumbly queried.

"Oh, no, it was the chicken," Cole sarcastically replied. "Of course, it was Jay! Now come on!"

The duo rushed to the shared room, just to see the others having a shocked expression and Jay lying cold on the floor.

Zane hurried to his unconscious brother to check his pulse.

"Please tell me he's still alive," Morro babbled.

"He's fine, he's just unconscious," Zane said as he crutched Jay over his shoulders.

"Let me help you with that," Kai stated

.

After a few hours, Jay finally woke up. However, he's acting a bit strange.

He never told a single joke, whether it's a bad one or good. He also didn't ask for his favorite food, like he usually do.

Everyone noticed this change, it was pretty evident to be honest.

Though, it was not until when everyone's asleep when Cole decided to confront Jay about his sudden change.

He first wanted to check if his theory was correct. That someone else controlling him.

Cole asked Jay if want to take a walk with him in the woods. Luckily, he agreed, Cole's plan was slowly coming together.

While walking, Cole asked a question only the real Jay can answer correctly.

"Hey Jay, do you wanna watch some Fritz Donnegan?" Cole questioned Jay.

"Sure, it's been a while since I watch those," Jay retorted.

"Ha! I knew it!" Cole yelled. "The real Jay swore to hiself to never watch anything related Fritz Donnegan!"

"What do you mean?" Not-Jay replied.

Cole then saw something unexpected, he saw Not-Jay's eyes momentarily flashing purple. He knew what that means.

"Who are you?" Cole asked.

"What do you mean?" Not-Jay repeated. "I-I'm Jay, master of Lightning, y-your best friend–"

"You know what I mean… Oni," Cole sternly said.

"H-How did you–"

"Answer the question or else I'm telling the others."

"Fine! I'm Ryder, I'm sort of Jay's Oni part," Not-Jay– um, Ryder replied.

Cole could not believe it. Jay. His best friend. Was part Oni. And he never told him, unless…

"Does he know?" Cole asked.

Ryder shook his head, "N-No…"

"Where is he then?"

"Still dreaming…"

Cole hummed, "Hm, okay let's make a deal."

"Huh?" Ryder asked visibly confused.

"I won't tell anyone about you controlling Jay, in exchange of waking him up from his dream," Cole stated.

Ryder thought for a moment, "Deal, but first let's head back."

"Of course," Cole responded.

Tomorrow,

Jay somehow woke up hyperventilating, luckily he wasn't alone in the room.

"Jay, breathe with me, okay?" Cole said.

Jay nodded as he follows the noiret's breathing.

After some time, Jay's breathing gradually became calmer.

"Better?" Cole asked.

"Mhm," Jay nodded. "What, what happened?"

"Me and the others don't have the full details, but Morro and I were just chatting while getting my midnight snack, then we heard you scream, we came as soon as possible. Then we all saw you lying on the floor unconscious."

Jay's head began to hurt a little that somehow made him remember what happened before the said story.

"Oh, I think I remember what happened before now," Jay stated.

"Do I need to call the others or-"

"Just you, Wu, and probably whoever is with him, if there is."

"Okay then," Cole responded as he left the room.

"So… you're finally gonna tell him about your power defect?" a voice told him.

"Yes, it's not like I have a second option," Jay answered. "Can someone explain again why is there another person in my head?"

"One, I have a name and it's Ryder. Second, I don't know, I was just created as soon as Nya kissed the fangpyre venom out your body!"

"You have been here for THAT LONG!!!"

"Oops, wasn't supposed to say that."

Jay then started rambling about his secrets unintentionally revealed to someone he never knew.

"How does Cole and Nya keep up with this guy?"

This is the first time, I didn't procrastinate in a work this year OvO. Also thank you for reading

Answer to Ryder's question: They don't. When Jay starts rambling, they focus on what he say, when they can't keep up anymore, they tell him to stop (in a nice way of course)
