Luna leaned against the gnarled tree trunk. The man laying on the ground before her was bound, both with magic and with ropes. One could never be too careful. She'd come back to this moment in time, this exact moment. Any minute he'd be here, he'd be here to end this man's life, to end the nightmare he'd been living through. She'd traveled back to make sure this happened as it needed to, to make sure things didn't play out how they originally did. She was twenty-three now, it had been so long since she'd seen the man she loved.

"What do you want?" Barty Crouch asked, his voice trembling with fear. Luna smiled, drawing an ornate silver dagger from the black leather holster on her belt. She held it just right to catch the moonlight that beamed down on the pair.

"To see what your insides look like," she answered. "I mean, are they like everyone else's, or are they black and twisted? What about your mind? Your heart, oh wait, you don't have one of those, do you?" she asked, kneeling down next to him. He still couldn't move.

"Who are you? Do you know who I am!?"

"I know exactly who you are Mister Crouch. I know exactly what you do for the ministry, how you sentenced men to their deaths in Azkaban and delighted in sending your own son there. You didn't even speak for him at his own trial, imagine that? His own father turned against him. I would be surprised but I know what kind of man you are, what you've done to rise to your pretty little title. You'll step on anyone who gets in your way, walk on top of everyone you feel is lesser than you. That's everyone isn't it?" she asked, tracing her thumb over the knife blade. A small bead of blood formed on the tip of her thumb. She could hear the leaves crunching. Someone was coming. She quickly cast a camoflauge spell over herself and her prey. She had no idea if this was the man she was waiting for, or someone else, someone she'd have to either hide from or take care of. She hoped it was him and this could finally end. Her patience was rewarded as she saw him. She lowered the glamour and rose to her feet. Her long blond hair waved in the wind.

"Barty," she called to him. He turned, saw her, and frowned. She knew he didn't know her, not like this anyway. He walked over to her, watching her every movement.

"Who are you?" he asked. Luna smiled.

"Luna Pandora Riddle," she answered. "I believe you work for my father?" she asked. Barty stared at her. "Lord Voldemort," she added. The man before her's eye widened.

"My master, you know my master? He's coming back."

"He is, and soon," she added. "I brought you a present, I believe you hate your father for being well, who he is? Would you like to do the honors?" she asked, holding out the knife. Barty Jr took it and stood next to Luna. She could see the polyjuice potion started to wear off. He reached for the flask, but she put her hand on his to stop him.

"No, I know who you are, there's no need to hide with me," she whispered. He nodded, raising the dagger and plunging it through his father's heart. Luna watched as the man started coughing, blood pouring from the sides of his mouth.

"Why are you here?" Barty Jr asked.

"To save you. They're going to have you kissed as my father rises. I'm here to make sure that doesn't happen. You're too loyal to die like that," she explained. "We'll need you to turn the tides later."

"And you're solely here to make sure I survive to serve my master."

"That and because I love you," Luna stated, kissing Barty passionately in the moonlight, blood pooling around their feet.
