A/N: Welp, it's a week late from my original deadline, but better late than never, I suppose. Before I get to posting up this new chapter though let me just put it out there that this is the PG-13 version of this chapter. So for those of you who are older and would like to read the full NSFW version, please either visit my DA page at Dib-The-Hybrid on DeviantArt OR my FA page at Patthekitsune on FurAffinity. Seems FF no longer allows for links to be posted on profile pages, so I'm afraid those of you who are 18 or older will just have to dig a little deeper to find my accounts, not that they're all that hard to find. Please keep in mind though that you must already have an acount to view said content and it must be an 18 years or older account too. Younger readers, please just stick with the PG-13 version for now. :) You're not missing out on anything important in this chapter by reading the edited version. I think it goes without saying at this point in time that I'm not in the business of just handing out adult content to minors. So please respect my wishes as you proceed forward. Thank you!
That being said, please enjoy this long awaited update! It's a nice long one so it should make up for the amount of time you guys had to wait for it. ;) Oh, and before I forget, I should be coming out with Chapter 188 by May 4th, 2016. So yeah. Hopefully not too long of a wait this time around, granted I'm able to keep up with my writing for this story.

Enjoy. =3
Smiling sadly when Dib clung to him so tightly and hid his face away in the crook of his neck, Zim merely held the hybrid close, moving a hand down to rub at his belly gently.
His entire body relaxing as the smeets kicked against Zim's hand, a happy little flutter of movement inside him as they seemed to enjoy having the Irken so close now, Dib let his eyes slip partially closed again at the gentle rubbing motions. "...I think they know when you're the one rubbing my stomach..." he said in a soft voice before closing his eyes completely.
Zim smiled a little at that. "They miss their daddy when you're away." he said before turning his attention to Dib's belly now.
"They miss hearing their daddy's voice..." Dib ran his own soothing hand over his belly also. "I know they do…Because they start kicking a lot more whenever you're talking to me or them or anybody else in the room." he said, his eyes drifting back open just slightly as he remained pressed against Zim tightly.
Laughing a little at those words, Zim smiled wide before leaning down to nuzzle Dib's belly. "Is that right, little smeets?" he cooed in an all too playful voice.
Dib felt one of the smeets kick again as though in response to the other's question. "I'm certain of it now...They know your voice and will recognize it the second they're first born. So don't stop talking to them. They also...calm down when they hear your voice...whenever they're upset..." he said, his hand continuing to stroke the kicking in his belly soothingly.
Excited now, Zim grinned wider and wrapped himself around Dib's belly before kissing it. "Love you, and you, and you." he said before looking up at Dib and leaning forward to kiss him as well. "And you." he finished once he had broken the kiss with Dib.
Blushing at the small kiss he received, Dib blinked wide eyes at Zim before letting them slip partially closed again as he flopped down onto his back, sinking into the bed's covers. "What are you going to do with them when they're first born...? Are you going to hold them lots and tell them stories?" he asked, gaze fixed on the ceiling now.
Purring against Dib's belly, Zim could only shrug at that question. "I don't know. I haven't really thought about it..." he admitted despite his unwavering enthusiasm.
"Do you...know any good stories you could tell them?" Dib then asked, closing his eyes tiredly. "I think they'd like that...Getting to hear your voice each night before bed..." he said, having always found it a comfort himself.
Opening his mouth as though to respond, Zim then closed it just as quickly and sighed out in a defeated manner. "No..." his antennae wilted slightly, suddenly feeling rather unprepared for all this.
"Well...What about when we first met? You could tell them a story about that...And...All the things we used to do before we realized how much we loved each other...And you could even tell them about everything that's happened to us in the past few months...And...About how you saved the earth for me..." Dib smiled, blushing just ever so slightly.
Smiling a little at those words, Zim then leaned in to nuzzle Dib softly. "I think you are forgetting, Dib. It was YOU who saved the earth." he reminded him, reaching up a single hand to tap at one of Dib's antennas playfully.
Sighing as his antennae drooped, Dib could only shake his head at those words though. "No...I was the one who endangered it in the first place...Really, it was you, Zim...You talked your leaders into not destroying Earth...And I think...that even if I hadn't been there, you would have found a way to get to them...You would have still been able to convince them..." he nodded to himself, not believing for even one second that he had anything to do with Earth's preservation at this point.
Zim smiled sadly at Dib's refusal to take credit for his own planet's safety. "You have too much confidence in me, Dib..." he said, not so certain he would have been as successful as Dib believed had the other not been there to help him.
"Well, how could you think I would doubt you, Zim...? You're amazing. You even came back from the dead for us!" Dib smiled wide up at the Irken.
Grinning at the hybrid's suddenly wide smile, Zim leaned down to kiss him gently. "I couldn't let you go through this alone..." he said, pressing one hand firmly against the hybrid's own on his belly.
Dib closed his eyes as he enjoyed the kiss. "I don't think I COULD have gone through this without you...How you came back though is still a mystery to me...I saw you die...It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever..." he said, sitting up a little in his spot once Zim had broken the kiss with him.
Zim smiled a little crookedly now. "Yeah…It makes as much sense to me as it does to you." he said, his memories of those moments and how he'd made it all the way there still rather hazy.
"What happened? What happened after they dragged me off of your leaders' ship? How did you even get back to Earth in the first place? I thought Irkens couldn't live without their PAKs. So how is it that you were able to survive nearly a full week without it?"
"Well...It was all kind of a blur really. But despite what happened that you saw…I wasn't dead...At least, I don't think I was..." Zim began his re-telling of what he could remember of that time.
QQQ~*~*~*QQQ INSERT FLASHBACK HERE QQQ~*~*~*QQQ
Location: The Massive
Time: Midnight and about 4 hours following the incident that happened on board
Two janitorial drones entered the room shortly after having been ordered by Red to clean up the room with the Control Brain in it.
"Geeze...What a mess..." the first janitorial drone made a slightly disgusted face at all the blood that covered the ground. "Ready to get to work?" he then asked, turning towards his partner.
"Yeah..." the second janitorial drone pulled on some gloves, making his own disgusted face as he went to grab his mop and bucket with cleansing solution in it.
Pushing most of the goo into an opening in the floor, the same one that had opened up for Zim to fall into, both drones finished cleaning the mess as quickly as they could before then going to leave.
"Should we empty the garbage while we're at it?" the first drone asked.
"Nahhh, it's still half empty. There's plenty of room till next week. We'll do it then."
"Very well, then. Want to go grab a snack in the kitchen?"
"You read my mind. Let's go. This room is clean enough now." the second drone said before the both of them headed out with their cleaning supplies in tow.
Meanwhile, back in the garbage pit, Zim shuddered a little bit, everything growing dark around him as he was sure he would be dead in just a few more seconds.
Minutes passed however, one right after the other, until nearly two hours had gone by, then three, then eight, perhaps even an eternity's worth before the lights in the room dimmed down, a sign that things were getting late, the Massive's scheduled nighttime approaching.
Zim stirred slightly, feeling like he was stuck in limbo. With all the blood loss and lack of body control, he wasn't sure what was going on any longer, where he was, or WHO he was as he rather remained content to just stay lying in the trash.
More time passed, the memories of Dib, so strange to him now, hanging by a thread as they too slowly began to slip away from his mind. He didn't have his PAK anymore and therefore had lost the majority of his memories. But the ones about that strange, black-haired boy still lingered in the back of his mind, his words still so clear. The screaming he had heard in his last moments rang loud and clear in his antennae and continued to do so, as though the boy were still there screaming them. But they lost their meaning after a while, and with enough time, also began to fade into nothingness.
Zim stared into the darkness. He'd always been here, as far as he could remember. This was where he belonged, but yet…It didn't feel right…Something was missing.
"ZIM!" the name rang loudly through his head once again in that distant yet familiar voice, causing his antennae to twitch slightly. The voice just wouldn't leave him. It would fade sometimes but always come back to him even stronger than before. And with its return, his heart would begin to ache all over again. He laid there in the darkness, the ache eating away at him slowly until he couldn't take it any longer, tears stinging at his eyes.
Closing his eyes, he mustered all the strength that he could before forcing himself to sit upright. As soon as he had done so however, he felt dizzy and unbalanced as once more he saw the world go dark around him.
Several more hours passed, perhaps even days, but still he remained fairly conscious of the voice in his head. He had woken up with a headache, only slightly aware that he was still alive, but what struck him as being really odd was his current state of being. He felt beaten up still, but as time passed, he began to feel his strength almost coming back to him in a sense, though slowly of course. He heard the black-haired boy's voice more clearly as time passed by and even saw tiny glimpses of past events with him. But none of why he was conscious of this made any sense to him. He had been here all his life, hadn't he? So how was it he dreamed of another world entirely, another life? He wanted to move, wanted to sit up so he could think more clearly and try to remember why he was even there in the first place. He hadn't been born here so far as he knew, but he had no memories of his previous life.
Taking in a shallow breath, Zim forced himself to sit up again once more, feeling dizzy but by some miracle managing not to pass out this time. He had to know, had to get out of there. He felt wrong. He shouldn't be here. He was needed...right?
The boy's voice flooded his head again, stronger than before, then, what he imagined sounded like the mewling cries of multiple smeets, though he couldn't put any faces whatsoever to the crying. He just felt needed, the crying in his head filling him with an unexplainable strength to push himself up onto unsteady legs and stumble his way over to one of the walls in the pit. He tripped once but managed to push himself up again, resting against the wall once he had reached it. But he felt rushed for some reason, the need to get out building up inside him. He didn't have time to rest. He just needed to find a way to get out as he lifted his head to stare up at the small opening above him. It wasn't too high up, though reaching it would still prove to be difficult. But he didn't care. If he reached it, perhaps he would receive more answers as to why this strange young boy's words made his heart ache so much.
Slowly, he began piling things around him, eventually forming a small tower towards the exit.
He could make it out now. He was sure of it. But he didn't know what would be waiting for him on the outside. He felt his legs begin to shake. He had to do this. Anything would be better than just waiting here to die of a broken heart he didn't even understand his reasoning for having. Perhaps things would be better on the outside, he told himself as he slowly began climbing the junk pile, arms and legs aching from the effort it was taking to try and hoist up his body weight. He pushed the pain to the back of his mind though, trying to concentrate more on the voice of that boy. As much as it hurt him, it also made him feel better in a sense, and he imagined a life better than this with him, his physical and mental pains gone.
Before he had even realized it, he reached the top of the pile and the entrance that glared down at him. Swallowing thickly, he stood himself up and pushed the entrance open.
To his relief, everything was dark upon exiting the pit he had been lying in for over 24 hours, no light piercing his eyes and blinding him momentarily. The room was also empty, another relief, as he got the feeling he should remain as quiet as possible. He didn't know where he was going yet, but the sight of the room made him shudder, a flash of memories crowding his mind for just a moment before vanishing once again. It was enough however and he knew this escape would involve avoiding the beings that looked like himself, the Irkens.
Taking a moment or two to rest before setting out on his journey to escape, Zim then stumbled his way to the door, more memories flashing through his mind all at once as he looked about the dark room. He saw the black-haired boy, shaking and covered in blood, as he passed by one particular area of the room and shuddered. Whatever had happened, he recalled that he hadn't been on the same level as the other but rather above, watching everything unfold beneath him. But why? Why was their so much blood in his memories? He stumbled and tripped as he crossed the halfway point of the room, almost as though he had stepped on something he remembered being there, but nothing was there now. His hand felt the floor beneath him, the cool metal surface underneath his palms bringing back memories of a weapon, a knife perhaps? He closed his eyes, trying to visualize it more clearly. That's when his eyes then snapped back open suddenly at the sound of his own voice. A word, no, a name, had slipped from his lips. "Dib." It sounded so familiar to him, like it was something he said often enough. He said it to himself again. "Dib...Dib-human..." the second word followed the name, sounding as though it belonged. But he had no idea what a human was as he recalled that the boy in his memories had looked a lot like him, Irken, but different at the same time. He wondered why then it was that this strange-looking hybrid made him feel safe when even his own species couldn't. He needed answers, needed to get out of there as he pushed himself back up and dragged himself the rest of the way to the exit.
Checking first to make sure the coast was clear, which it thankfully was, he then made a break for it down one of the hallways, even this ship's many hallways proving to be familiar to him. He wandered down the hallway, made a left turn, then a right, and another right after that until he had wandered into a large, empty room on the ship, the window in it vast as he could see a small blue planet orbiting right outside it. He gasped at its beauty from here and heard himself mumbling another familiar word. "Home..." He didn't recall ever having a home anywhere else but there. He needed to reach it, to find some way off of this ship as he knew better than to stay in one spot for too long. He was close to finding an escape. He just knew it. But right as he went to turn down another one of the hallways, his antennae picked up the sound of footsteps heading right towards him. He ducked into another room, thankfully an empty supply closet, as the footsteps drew closer, the familiar voices of two other Irkens reaching his antennae as he remained as silent as possible.
"Awww...Come on, Purple...It's been nearly two days since you came back from Earth. Are you going to stay mad at me for the rest of Impending Doom II? I've already offered to mate with you several times since you've gotten back. Don't you want to try for a smeet of your own?" Tallest Red tried to persuade his mate into joining him in bed yet again.
"What would even be the point...?" Tallest Purple's antennas drooped, no longer in the mood for mating with Red or even trying to have a smeet of his own. As much as he had tried not to show it in front of Red, he just couldn't stop thinking about Zim no matter how hard he tried.
"Pur, you promised me you'd be okay after you did that one last thing on Earth. So what's the problem now?"
Purple sighed. "Nothing. I'm just not in the mood, Red..." he half-lied, not wanting a repeat of the last time they had tried to mate.
"Bullshit. If you were really okay, you wouldn't be avoiding this as much as you are." Red narrowed his eyes on Purple suspiciously.
"Fine! What is it that you want from me?! Sex?! A smeet?! Talk about bullshit."
"Hey! Everything I've ever done has been for you, so the least you could do is pretend to be happy and accept what I'm offering you now!" Red said, gripping at Purple's arm tightly.
Flinching back at the tight grip, Purple tried to pull away. "Let me go." he said, feeling just a little unnerved by his partner's ceaseless advances towards him.
"No! Not until you agree to come to bed with me tonight! You really want a smeet so badly?! Well, this is your last chance! Refuse me now and I won't give you the opportunity to try again later!" Red said threateningly, sending Purple an all too serious look.
Biting down on his bottom lip, Purple hesitated a moment before slowly nodding his head in agreement, not wanting to regret telling Red no. Rose had told him things would be like this, had told him that love was a battlefield. He had to fight for what he wanted. He only wished that what he was fighting for didn't make him feel so horrible on the inside.
Finally seeming to get through to Purple, Red smiled before taking the other by the hand now and leading him down towards the end of the hallway to their bedroom chambers.
Zim felt as though he couldn't breathe, his heart having been pounding so loudly that he could have sworn it would be impossible for the two taller Irkens not to hear him. But with the two of them gone now, he couldn't help but heave out a sigh of relief before making his way back out into the hallway. He was so close to freedom, so close to Earth, the name of the planet the two Irkens had been speaking of. He continued down the hallway, took one more left, and then finally exited out into a large room lined with several ships ripe for the taking. Nobody else was there which meant he could make his escape now. "Dib...I'm coming home..." the words left his mouth in a quiet whisper, his legs carrying him to the closest ship.
Meanwhile, Purple sighed as he entered the bedroom with Red.
Gesturing for him to remove his uniform, Red grinned, doing the same himself.
Purple sighed again as he went to remove what he was wearing, taking first the armor off and then the robes afterwards, really not wanting to do this right now. But he wanted this, he kept reminding himself, trying to think more positively as he followed Red to the bed. His face didn't show it though as his antennae drooped, unable to take his mind off of Zim. He hoped Red wouldn't notice, afraid of what the other might do were he to realize he was still thinking about the ex-invader.
Red eyed his sour expression closely. "Come on, Pur. Wasn't this what you were always bothering me about?" he crossed his arms, a hint of annoyance evident in his voice.
"Wasn't this what you DIDN'T want to do with me? Do you even want this? Because if you don't, I don't see what the point is in doing this at all." Purple shot Red an all too serious look of his own, still trying to decide himself whether he'd feel right doing this or not. "I want this, but not if you don't want it too." he then said, looking away after a moment or two of silence had passed between them.
"I wouldn't offer if I didn't want to do it, Pur."
Unsure whether to believe Red or not, Purple merely sighed, nodding his head nonetheless as he approached the bed and his co-ruler. "Okay..." he closed his eyes. "Do as you'd like with me. Just...make it mean something if you're really serious about doing this with me though." he then opened up his arms to allow Red complete access to his entire body.
Smiling when Purple finally gave in to his advances, Red leaned over him delicately, kissing him deeply.
Letting Red take full possession of his lips as he felt the other purr against them, Purple moved his lips so they were open enough to slip his tongue in. "Mmmm..." he kissed back against them lightly, trying to make himself believe that Red was the one he wanted to be with for this. He peeked his eyes open at one point before sliding back on the bed to allow Red easier access as the other crawled forward to pin him down underneath him.
Growling a little in a slightly possessive manner, Red then licked along the side of his face, sliding his hands along Purple's slender sides and hips.
Purple closed his eyes again as he felt Red's hands travel down his body, past his hips and down to firmly take ahold of his bottom. He didn't really mind, though he wished the other would hurry and get this over with already. Red had always been comfortable feeling him up, regardless of whether he wanted the other to do so or not.
Positioning himself in front of Purple, Red then grinned even more and kissed him deeply once again. He started slowly.
Purple couldn't help but let out a small gasp. The other was being so gentle, much gentler than he usually was with him as he closed his eyes and enjoyed the feeling of his partner's movements. It was so unlike Red, he almost forgot for a moment that Red was the one he was with. He wondered if this was how Zim used to make love to his mate.
Stroking Purple's antennas and doing all he could to make him relaxed and in pleasure, Red kept up his easy pace.
Truly enjoying how soft the other was being with him, Purple couldn't help but melt at Red's touch to his antennas as he moaned out lowly. He reached forward to take hold of Red's hands, pulling them up to rest on his chest, right around where his heart was beginning to beat faster. He wanted to feel the other's hands more on his body, to have that contact.
Red smiled uncharacteristically, nuzzling him a little and sliding his hands over Purple's chest and along his sides before moving up to stroke the side of his face tenderly.
Purple watched Red through half-lidded eyes as the other took care to love him softly. "You're so much softer than you usually are...I like this side of you..." he said, letting his eyes drift back closed as he concentrated on the feeling of Red and only Red. He wanted to be treated like this all the time, as though he were something fragile that could break easily were he not handled with care.
Red smiled a little at those words and purred. "I can be like this all the time, Pur~" he offered, though the tone of voice seemed to fall a little short of the words that promised the other that.
"Really?" Purple opened his eyes at those words regardless to peer up at Red with wide, almost disbelieving eyes. Did the other really mean that? It didn't sound like Red at all. But perhaps it was just the moment that made him want to believe the other despite all odds. He looked away, the look on Red's face hurting him as he didn't want to get his hopes up too high. "I'd like that..." he then said, a hint of disappointment already seeping through though as he had a hard time imagining it.
Smiling and purring louder, Red returned to his 'work' kissing up the side of Purple's face and neck.
Red's lips sending jolts of excitement all throughout his body, Purple tilted his head back and let another small moan escape him. Wanting to pick up a slightly faster rhythm, he then lifted his hips slightly.
Catching the hint, Red started moving gradually faster, constantly caressing Purple with the gentlest of touches.
His head swimming in a sea of feelings, physical and emotional, Purple sighed out contently at the other's gentle touches. But just as quickly as the fantasy had begun, he felt it ending already as the Irken on top of him finished up and pulled out to collapse into the covers next to him, panting heavily. He suddenly felt dirty, like he hadn't deserved to feel so amazing, even if only for a short amount of time. And just as sure as he was that he could feel his partner's essence fusing to something deep inside him, he knew he would live to regret this moment for the rest of his life as he squeezed his eyes tightly shut and turned over onto his side to curl up.
Oblivious to his lover's inner turmoil, Red meanwhile wrapped his arms around Purple and pulled him in close as he drifted off to sleep peacefully.
A/N: And there you have it for Chapter 187. Until next time~
