"Those we've lost are never truly gone."

words that echoed in my mind,

words that repeated again and again,

a broken record on repeat.

Those words seeping into my thoughts

during the day,

scribbling my name across the page.

One more year, alone without her,

one more year until...

Until nothing,

I thought we had time,

that we had a chance,

no way of knowing.

Never truly gone.

Those words echoing in my dreams.

Ginny and I,

both too bright for this world,

that's what they say, isn't it?

When someone dies young,

when someone gives up young,

too bright, too brilliant.

Those who leave us...

she's gone, but not,

still there, still shining.

She'll be there to guide me

in the end.

A bright star, the brightest in the sky,

my Ginny, she'll lead me home

in the end.

We battled side by side,

shared kisses in the library,

in the bleachers watching

her brothers play,

we shared kisses,

we shared a heart,

ours beating as one.

Now,

now I have only her shining star

to remind me of her fingers wrapped around mine.
We were dancing,

slowly growing closer and closer,

spinning and the world spun around us,

the battle echoed in my ears,

the dance ending and replaced

with white beds,

the air sharp with scents that bit,

that stung,

hang on, hang on, hang on.

Only so much time,

every breath borrowed,

every movement one step closer.

Never left her side,

she was already leaving,

couldn't leave her,

couldn't let her go.

She'll be there,

waiting for me,

waiting to lead me home,

my Ginny,

my love,

my heart,

the brightest star in sky,

waiting for the day

we can once again

dance hand in hand,

laughter filling the air

and our love flowing like a

never ending stream.
