A/N: Heh...Heh...Wow...I don't even know what to say here any longer. : D It's been over a year since my last update here, and I...have no excuse. Lol. Guess I just got lazy with my writing. Motivation can be a difficult thing to hold onto. Sorry about that, you guys (if I even still have any active readers on here). Writing this chapter alone was difficult enough. Took me over a week of editing and re-editing to even get it down on paper. I can't keep staring at it though, so here's an update at long last. Right when some people probably thought this story had died for good. Haha. XD Sorry to disappoint anyone, but I'm still determined to finish it, even if it takes me another 8 years to do so (I really hope I can finish it before then though). Anyways, I'll go ahead and shut up already. For all I know, I may be talking to an empty audience at this point. Lol. I'll try not to suck at updating in the future though.

After walking nearly half a block down from the bridal shop, Jack and Rose finally stopped in front of another formal-looking storefront. They turned to look back at Zim upon arrival, this one smaller than the last but clearly geared towards serving male clientele instead.
"Well now that we've got a dress picked out for Dib, how about we get you fitted for a wedding suit, Zim? I'm sure Dib would love to see you in one." Rose glanced at Dib as she said that.
Dib blushed at the look Rose sent him before looking away to one side, the thought of Zim in a suit causing his cheeks to heat up even more. When he really thought about it, he never had seen Zim in much else than the traditional Irken garb of the invaders uniform from his planet.
"...A-A what?" Zim sputtered out instinctively, suddenly looking nervous about wearing anything other than his uniform.
"A suit. You know, what Jack was wearing when we showed you our wedding video." Rose smiled at him with absent acknowledgement of his growing discomfort."You said yourself that your uniform wouldn't be formal enough for this occasion. And I'll bet you'll look super handsome in one, right Dib?"she then shifted her gaze from Zim to Dib again, winking at him knowingly.
"U-Ummm...Uhm...I-I guess..." Dib stuttered out helplessly, blushing shyly as he became lost to the thought now.
"This is where I got fitted for my suit. They'll take a few measurements, then lead us over to a section of the store with suits that are just in your size range. You can then try them on and choose which one you'd like." Jack interjected, gesturing for them to follow him into the store.
"Oh...Okay then..." Zim nodded his head at the casual explanation, still remaining a little guarded as he entered the store with Dib by his side. What if they realized his true identity or figured something out by taking measurements of him? he thought to himself involuntarily.
Sensing the other's nervousness, Dib squeezed Zim's hand reassuringly as they entered into the store, one of the available employees approaching them upon entry.
"Yes, can I help you?" the employee asked, sweeping his gaze across the group in question.
"This store wouldn't happen to sell wedding suits here still, would it?" Rose asked, taking the lead instantly and pulling Zim up next to her. "You see, our friend is in need of a nice one for his wedding day. His fiancee just agreed to marry him." she said, gesturing towards Dib in the back still.
The employee sent Zim and Dib an awkward glance for a moment, forgoing a comment about their apparent ages before nodding his head in compliance with the odd request. "Ah, yes. Right this way." he escorted them to an area of the store that appeared rather open before calling over two other employees to assist him with taking Zim's measurements. They approached with loose tape measures and moved in unison around the flustered Irken. Positioning Zim in several different poses, they then began measuring his arm and leg lengths as well as the size of his waist. One of them then jotted the notes down on a pad of paper as the others continued moving around Zim in countless circles.
Jack, Rose, and Dib merely stood back and watched as Zim was adjusted and readjusted into various angles. The employees took down all his height and weight dimensions before pulling away to finish scribbling just a few final notes.
Taking the piece of paper from his fellow associate, the employee in charge of their service then glanced over it carefully before gesturing for them to follow him. "I believe we've got some suits in his size. Follow me, please." he said, ushering them over to a new area of the store lined with suits specially made for weddings. "Here we are. You should be able to find what you're looking for among this selection." he separated a portion of the suits that fell into Zim's size range from the rest hanging on the racks. "Feel free to try some of them on, and if you need anymore help, ask one of the employees at the front desk." he pointed towards the front of the store before leaving to help some other customers entering the shop.
Rose picked up one of the suit tops without hesitation and held it to Zim's front side. "Well, Zim. You ready to try some of these on?" she then asked, already taking note of the limited selection.
Zim shuddered after all the measuring and such was complete. "Uh...Sure, I guess...Which one?" he then asked, directing his gaze to the line of handsomely-tailored suits.
"Hmmm..." Rose shifted through what the employee had indicated to her as being in his size range. Her eyes and fingers lingered on one in particular before finally she pulled it out to show him. "How about this one?" she asked, drawing out a black suit top for Zim to try on. "The real question when it comes to trying on wedding suits is whether you want to wear one that's black or one that's white." she said before then finding a pair of matching pants to go with it. "Here. Go in to that changing room there and try these on." she pointed to one of the changing rooms located directly behind him and handed Zim the top and pants to try on in the back.
Zim nodded his head in agreement, his own gaze stalling on the suit in question and taking in all its lines and clean-cut edges. If he had to choose one color over another, there was no doubt in his mind that black would be his choice. But what if Dib didn't like it? he then thought, a small internal whine escaping him at the prospect. He had never had to consider such a dilemma before when it came to wearing just his standard uniform. Retreating to the back of the changing room regardless though, he tugged the suit top on over himself as instructed by Rose. "Urgh...I don't think this will work..." he then groaned from behind the curtain, a note of struggle evident in his voice.
"What? Why not?" Rose said from her side of the dressing room curtain before turning to Jack with a look of animated determination in her eyes. "Jack, go in there and help him out." she ordered, pointing him in the direction of the dressing room Zim had chosen to get dressed in.
Jack chuckled with mild amusement at his wife's all too obstinate demand. Her usual, easygoing demeanor had suddenly taken back seat to the more assertive side she only ever showed when out shopping for clothing. In situations where the selection was especially limited though, Rose could be hopelessly single-minded about which outfits should be tried on and purchased. Nodding his head nevertheless, Jack stepped into the dressing room to help Zim out. A moment of silence followed, a few faint words being exchanged between the two before Jack suddenly burst out into hysterical laughter.
"DO NOT LAUGH AT ZIM!"
"Sorry, Zim. It's just, I can't believe we didn't consider that. You never take that thing off."
Zim glared at Jack unamused before then attempting to shove him out from within the curtained changing room. Stumbling past the human and knocking his head into the door's opening, Zim then fell out onto the floor where Rose and Dib were currently waiting. His arms were practically bound in the suit top, and his PAK seemed to be taking up too much space for him to properly move them around.
Rose and Dib merely blinked down at the tangled up Zim. Gathering a hand up to her mouth, Rose then creased her lips together firmly in a futile attempt to keep her laughter at bay. "Oh, I see." she snickered out helplessly, a wide smile remaining hidden behind her concealing hand.
Dib knelt down next to Zim so he could help the other sit up and untangle himself from the twisted sleeves. "Your PAK gets in the way..." he noted, biting down on his bottom lip and not wanting to ask Zim to take it off. They couldn't just carve a hole into the back of it, he knew. At least, not until they had actually bought the suit.
Zim grumbled out resentfully and wriggled around until finally he managed to shuck off the offending top, leaving him sitting on the floor shirtless and panting.
"Hmmm..." Rose lifted up the suit top and held it to Zim's body again. "Perhaps we should just purchase one of them now and have you try it on at home. I know we wanted you to try on a few others, but there aren't really many to choose from here anyways, so..." her words trailed off. Turning, she then reached for the other suits and held them up for Zim to see. "Go ahead and choose whichever one you like best. If worse comes to worst, we'll just find you an alternative suit to wear in its stead. Perhaps you can even borrow one of Jack's old suits. Then we can just have it tailored to fit you." she suggested, lining the other suits up next to the first one.
Giving in with a defeated sigh, Zim nodded and glanced at the limited options: a white one, a pale blue one, and the black one he had been trapped in previously. "What do you like, Dib?" he then asked, glancing at his mate for an opinion.
Spacing out on them for just a moment, Dib jumped slightly at the unexpected question. "Huh? What?" he blinked back up at Zim and then the suits Rose was holding. Blushing, he then looked away to one side. "I-I don't know..." his antennae fell back to a passive position on his head before he attempted hiding away in the other's chest submissively.
Zim slumped a little at Dib's reaction, the hybrid's all too fragile response causing him to think the other didn't like any of them. "Umm...How about the black one?" he said, choosing one regardless and hoping it would help move things along a little faster so they could just get out of there already.
Returning the other suits back to their original spots, Rose took care to adorn the rack with meticulous consideration. Straightening each one out on their hangers neatly, she then turned to face Zim and Dib again. "I think this one will suit you." she smiled, dusting off the black suit a bit and doing the same with it as well. "Black seems to be more your color anyways. At least, it does in comparison to the other colors here. Don't you think, Dib?" she turned her stare on only him now with a seemingly hinting gleam in her eyes.
Lifting his head from Zim's chest momentarily, Dib glanced at the suit again before returning to his hiding spot and nodding slowly. "I-I guess so..." he muttered out shyly, doing his best to keep his face covered in that moment.
Smiling a little nervously at that, Zim rubbed Dib's side dismally. "So...you don't like it then?" he spoke in an uncharacteristically meek voice.
Dib snapped his head up at those words. "Wh-What?! N-No! I mean, yes! I mean...umm...umm..." he searched for the right words to say, not wanting the other to think that at all."I-I like it...A lot..." he finally admitted, flushing up noticeably and glancing at Zim again."I-I just want YOU to like it too..." he then said, beginning to play with his fingers rather anxiously now.
Amused by Dib's flustered response, Zim tilted the teen's head back gently and leaned in to steal a kiss from him. "I like it if you like it." he spoke reassuringly against the other's supple lips.
Sighing out gently at the small and placid kiss he received, Dib's antennae relaxed on his head significantly. "W-Well then, I like it..." he confirmed again, resting his weight against the other comfortably now and returning his face to Zim's bare chest.
Rose could only smile at the tender display of affection between the two. "Alright, we'll buy the suit here and have you try it on at home later then." she said before picking out a few other things to go along with it. Picking up a dress shirt for Zim to wear underneath the suit, she then approached one of the employees in the store for assistance at the register.
No longer really paying any attention to the clothes that Rose was currently buying, Zim nuzzled Dib lovingly. He only had eyes for his hybrid in that moment and wished the other would grant him a glimpse of his face. He loved his mate's brilliantly golden-brown eyes and rose-flushed cheeks, those simple features alone lending an innocence to Dib that Zim just couldn't resist.
Returning back to where Zim, Dib and Jack were presently waiting for her, Rose approached with a bag full of clothes she'd just purchased at the front counter. "Well, are we ready to go? I thought we'd grab lunch somewhere before making one last stop on our way home." she said with a perfectly wide smile. She had planned just one last surprise for Zim and Dib that was sure to be enjoyed by both of them.
Pulling back from Zim's chest, Dib blinked at the Irken momentarily before blushing and sliding his hands down to push himself away slightly. "U-Ummm...M-Maybe you should get dressed before we go." he said once he was out of the other's lap and back on his feet, gesturing to the Irken's bare chest all the while.
"Oh! Uh...Right." Zim blushed a dark green of his own and quickly ran to get his shirt on, deliberately remaining hidden behind the curtain for just a moment so he could properly compose himself.
Waiting patiently for Zim to return, Dib then linked his arm with one of the Irken's as soon as he had walked back out into the waiting area. Following Rose and Jack out to the sidewalk, he then heard his stomach growl as they headed back towards the car. "I think the smeets want lunch now..." he said, leaning into Zim and running a hand over his swollen belly delicately. His lack of food that day combined with getting sick at the therapist's office had now made him extremely hungry.
