Amy was glad that they had a few hours of Sunday left to just relax together. She knew that she should probably try to get caught up on wedding stuff, but she just didn't have it in her. Plus, she knew that there wasn't quite as much as she thought because Sheldon had actually done a really good job keeping up with what needed to be done. Of course, he had had some help from their friends. Still, they were more or less caught up on stuff like approvals with the baker and the caterers.
"Babe, can we go lie down for a little while?" Amy said when they got into the apartment.
"Babe? You never call me 'babe' unless you've been drinking," Sheldon said.
"Actually, I resist calling you 'babe' all the time because I assume you don't like it. I'm tired and it slipped out. Though, don't think I haven't noticed you calling me, 'kid'," Amy said.
Sheldon chuckled and put his arm around his fiancee. "You caught me. Does it bother you?"
"No. You only ever called me Amy before, so I suppose it's a little strange," Amy remarked.
"You're wrong. I've called you both 'kid' and 'vixen' for years. Perhaps not as often as I do now, but I've called you 'kid' when I've felt a little protective over you like when you had the flu or when I've felt particularly fond of you like when I told you that I liked you for who you are, quirks and all," Sheldon said.
A couple of flashes of memory came back to Amy at his words. She smiled at him and took his hand to lead him back to their room. She was tired and wanted nothing more than to fall asleep in his arms.
After a couple of nights of trying to sleep without Sheldon, Amy felt much better rested when she woke up with Sheldon's hand resting comfortably on her thigh. They were both on their backs and Amy looked over at Sheldon. He was just watching her.
"How long have you been awake?" Amy asked.
"I don't know. Maybe twenty minutes," Sheldon said as the fingers on the hand touching her began to move.
Amy just nodded and watched as Sheldon moved his hand up over her hip and to her stomach. She had taken off the sweater before getting into bed, but she was still wearing the dress. It was probably a mistake because the dress was pretty rumbled. Then Sheldon pulled his hand back, but only so that he could use that arm to prop himself up on his elbow.
He looked down at Amy and pressed his lips to hers. It was freeing to be able to just kiss her again. They didn't have to worry about work or the wedding or his mother coming home. In that moment he could just hold her and kiss her.
Amy's hands flew to Sheldon's shirt and she started unbuttoning it. He helped her remove it, and then he pulled her up a little so that he could unzip her dress. She pulled her arms through the sleeves and Sheldon pulled it down to her waist. Amy wasn't sure she had ever seen Sheldon so aggressive about getting her clothes off.
She was even more shocked when Sheldon reached behind her again and easily unclasped the hooks on her bra. He hadn't removed it before, but didn't seem to have any problems taking it from her. His fingers brushed the skin on her back and her sides, and Amy could feel the trails of heat from the flush that followed them.
Sheldon then placed his lips back on Amy's. She tried to wonder what had gotten into him, but there wasn't enough of her brain available for that. Instead, she kissed him back with all that she had. Then she brought her hands up to his back and ran her nails across the skin in a way that she knew he particularly liked. She expected a moan or perhaps for him to bite her bottom lip, but she did not expect the way his hips started bucking into hers.
Somewhere in all of the kissing and touching, Amy's dress had more or less became a belt. She wished she could just take it off, but she felt like it would ruin the momentum. She still had tights and underwear on, so she wasn't really worried about breaking their Agreement. She was definitely enjoying the way that Sheldon was moving against her. She could feel that he was hard as he ground himself between her legs.
Amy wasn't really aware of what was going on as he suddenly stopped and climbed off of her. She watched as he pulled something out of the drawer and came back over. Then it clicked. He had grabbed a condom.
"Whoa. Sheldon, stop," She said suddenly and sat up from the bed. She didn't even know he had condoms in the bedside drawer.
"Amy, you want me. I want you. I don't want to wait anymore," Sheldon said as he started unbuckling his belt.
"Sheldon, stop. Since we've gotten engaged, you've said that you wanted to wait until we were married. Hell, since we started dating, I suspected that," Amy told him.
"I've changed my mind," Sheldon said as he pulled his pants down and stepped out of them. Amy was finding it harder to find a well-reasoned argument as she looked at him standing there in only his briefs.
Still, she tried. "When? When did you change your mind?" Amy asked. She was becoming aware of her own state of undress and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Approximately five minutes ago," Sheldon said.
"No, Sheldon. If you've truly changed your mind on the subject, we can do it tomorrow. We'll both call off work and you can have your way with me, but you need to think about this. I'm not letting you go against what you want because you're allowing yourself to think with your genitals," Amy said. Then she stood up, grabbed one of her nightgowns, and went into the bathroom to change.
When she was changed, Amy went out to the living room. She was still mad at Sheldon. She wasn't exactly sure why because he was only trying to give her what she had wanted for years, right? Plus, it was more proof that he wanted her that way. No, he was making her have to be the bad guy. She hated having to turn him down and reject him, but he would probably also be mad if they had had sex. He wouldn't be mad at her, but he would be mad at himself for it. There really was no way that Amy could have won. Still, she thought she took the best option out.
After a few moments more, Amy could hear the shower running. Then Sheldon appeared in front of her in his pajamas. He reached out for her hand with a surprisingly cold hand and he pulled her up from the couch and into his arms. "I'm sorry," he told her quietly.
Instead of accepting his apology she asked, "Why are you so cold?"
He chuckled. "I was once informed that a cold shower would help one's blood return to their brain rather than their genitals. It didn't help as much as I hoped it would, but I am at least able to understand my mistake," Sheldon told her.
"What was that?" she asked.
"I shouldn't have assumed that you wanted to have sex with me," Sheldon said.
"That's probably a good rule to live by, but that isn't the case right now. I want to take off your clothes right here. This was about you putting it on me to turn you down because I don't want you to do something I know you'll regret later. Have you really changed your mind about premarital sex?"
Sheldon looked at the ground and said, "No."
"That's what I thought," Amy said. She took his hand and they went to sit on the couch. Sheldon broke their schedule and ordered pizza instead of cooking. Then they cuddled under a blanket on the couch for a while until Sheldon was warm enough to feel his toes again. Amy realized that she wasn't really mad at him. He was struggling with this all just like she was. She resolved to be more understanding.
There was another idea rolling around in her head. She didn't even want to suggest it, but it might be a better option for the time being. "Sheldon, do you want me to move back into the guest room?" she asked quietly.
"What? No. I promise I'll control myself," Sheldon said. Neither of them thought of those days when they had been so distant from each other much anymore. Sometimes when Sheldon jumped up from the couch when Amy got home, she would think of it and cringe. Or sometimes Sheldon would think of all of those nights that he stayed home playing video games alone when she worked late. That time had hurt them both, but they were more or less over it. Still, her question hurt them both a little.
"I want to make things easier on you. There is nowhere I would rather sleep than right next to you, but if this is going to be hard on you, there are less than six weeks until the wedding. I can move," Amy offered. She hoped that he would keep saying no. Amy always tried to sacrifice things for Sheldon, but she wanted to be selfish this time.
"Absolutely not," Sheldon said in a serious tone that Amy hadn't heard since Texas. She smiled and leaned into his side. Sheldon put his arm tightly around her like he would never let go again.
