The time flew by during the last few weeks before the wedding. Sheldon and Amy weren't really spending a lot of time together, so she asked if they could go to dinner somewhere new on Thursday night. It was their old date night, but they rarely went out anymore.
Sheldon and Amy went to dinner at a French restaurant after they went home to change. It was much nicer than they usually went to. They didn't speak much during the meal, but Amy was sure that Sheldon's eyes didn't leave her once.
"Do you know what Leonard and the guys have planned for your bachelor party?" Amy asked. Her curiosity was getting to her.
"Leonard won't tell me, but I assured them that I would ruthlessly kill them all if they tried to get strippers involved," Sheldon said with an involuntary shutter.
"Penny won't tell me what we are doing either. I would really rather not leave the state. I've informed her of that, but she hasn't given me any clues."
"They can take you out of state? Isn't that kidnapping?"
"It's supposedly completely acceptable to take friends to Las Vegas to celebrate their getting married. I would rather that we do some sort of ritual bathing, but they shot me down on both Bernadette's and Penny's bachelorette parties."
The waiter came back and offered them dessert. Sheldon ordered them a crème brulee to share. It was a nice way to end the meal. The waiter called Amy beautiful and wished them a good night on their way out and Sheldon wrapped his arm around her.
"I hardly think he was trying to steal me from you," Amy commented.
"Ha. Like he could. I'm just proud of my beautiful fiancee. I like that all of those people can be jealous of me," Sheldon said.
Amy blushed a little as they got back in her car. She put her hand on Sheldon's knee and squeezed it for a second before starting the car.
"I'm glad that we could have tonight. The wedding, the parties, people coming into town... I feel like I'm not going to see you again until we are on the plane to Hawaii," Amy told Sheldon.
"I'm not going to let that happen. I am going to make it my personal goal to kiss you at least twenty minutes every day between now and the wedding. You know how I like to finish things. Don't worry about not seeing me," Sheldon said.
They drove home and got ready for bed. They each stood on their side of the bed and changed into their pajamas and then climbed into bed. Sheldon kissed Amy's forehead. He took off her glasses and kissed her eyelids and then her cheeks then her earlobes before moving to her lips. He ran his tongue along her lips as she parted them.
Sheldon's hands reached down to touch Amy's legs. He loved her legs. He loved every part of her. He had denied this for so long, but he remembered all of those times that he noticed her body even before he allowed himself to be attracted to it. Sheldon pulled away from kissing her and just knelt between her legs.
"What are you doing?" Amy asked.
"I just want to look at you. There hasn't been a day that went by over the last four months that I haven't felt like the biggest idiot on the planet. I might have an IQ of 187, but I had you in my life for years and I just took you for granted. That was the stupidest thing I could have possibly done. I spent all of that time not touching these legs," Sheldon said as her ran a hand from her ankle to her thigh. "I spent all of that time not kissing these lips," he said as he leaned back down and pressed his lips to hers. "I spent all that time not tasting this skin," he said as he licked her the skin right below her ear.
Sheldon felt his erection growing after this and he pressed himself against Amy. She moaned at the pressure and pressed herself back against him. The moved together for a moment before Sheldon jumped back and off the bed.
"Oh, God. I'm so sorry, Amy," Sheldon said before he left the room.
Amy was dazed, but she got up and followed Sheldon to the living room. He was sitting on the couch with a blanket around his shoulders and his knees brought up to his chest.
"Sheldon, what's wrong?" Amy said as she ran over to him.
"I was letting myself get too far, and I didn't want to make you have to turn me away again. I didn't want to make you angry," Sheldon said.
"It's okay. I understand. Sometimes these urges get a little strong for me too. I love you and I love that you love me too. I love that you want me. I'm going back to bed. You may join me if you want, but you can sleep in the other room if it's still bothering you."
Amy got up and went back to bed. Sheldon seemed like he needed some time alone, but she thought he would join her at some point. She eventually fell asleep alone. She was a little sad that Sheldon hadn't joined her, but she had given him the option. That's why she was surprised to wake up with Sheldon wrapped around her. He must have found her at some point.
It was the their last day of work before the wedding the next weekend. Amy was trying to be excited about work, but it just wasn't happening. She usually lived for her work. For most of her life, it was the only thing that had consistently been there. She hoped once her life got back to normal, she would love going to the university again.
Both Sheldon and Amy had limited success with their last day at work because people kept coming in to congratulate them. Sheldon was ready to leave by lunch, but no one would drive him home. He just locked himself in his office and pretended to focus on physics. It wasn't until Leonard came to pick him up that Sheldon remembered that they were taking him to his bachelor party.
"Please, Leonard. I just want to go home."
"You'll like this. I promise," Leonard said.
Across town, Penny was picking Amy up for her party. She was putting up a similar fight, but Penny wouldn't let her bow out either.
Penny and Leonard separately drove Amy and Sheldon to the Cheesecake Factory where all of their friends were waiting for them. Amy saw Sheldon and was surprised that he was there. They all walked in together and were greeted by a yell of "Surprise!" from their friends.
"See? No strippers, only a little drinking, and lots of friends," Leonard pointed out to Sheldon. "We're all going to have dinner together and then we're going to go back to your place to play video games and the girls are going back to my place to do whatever they are going to do."
"Okay. I'll admit that you guys did well. Thanks, Leonard," Sheldon said with a pat on Leonard's back.
Leonard looked at Amy and said, "What did you do with Sheldon?"
Amy put her hand on Sheldon's chest and said, "Oh, this is him." Then she got on her toes and kissed him. Their friends clapped at this and Amy bowed her head, embarrassed. Sheldon, on the other hand, proudly put his arm around Amy.
They sat down and had dinner with their friends. It was lively, and even Sheldon had fun. Then they all piled into their cars to drive back to 2311 Los Robles. On the fourth floor they separated into boys and girls.
Sheldon liked playing games with his friends. They didn't get to do it as often now that everyone had adult lives. He was sad that they didn't have time for it much anymore.
Across the hall, Amy was handed a glass of wine as soon as she got in the door. Penny and Bernadette chatted excitedly. The night was much better than Amy would have guessed, but she still kind of wanted to be in bed.
"Amy, you have to tell us. Have you and Sheldon had sex yet?" Penny asked. She'd been wondering if they had done it since the engagement.
"No," Amy said simply.
"But you still want to marry him? Aren't you a little worried that he won't ever want to?" Penny asked.
"I absolutely still want to marry him, and I'm not worried about that in the least. He does not want to engage in coitus until after we've been wed, but I have the utmost faith in him. His genitals are quite functional, and he has made it no secret that he wants me 'that way,'" Amy informed them.
"What? You just said that you two have not had sex," Bernadette said.
"We haven't, but that doesn't me that we haven't done other things. That's why I'm not concerned about him wanting me. I know he wants me just as much as I want him," Amy said.
"Is he, you know, good?" Penny asked.
Amy smiled and looked at the floor as she thought about the way he moved against her the night before. She nodded and said, "Very."
"Was his mom on your case about having grandchildren? Howard's mom asks me about it nearly every day. I wish she wouldn't put so much pressure on us. I mean, we've only been trying for a couple of months."
"Not yet. Sheldon assures me that it is coming though. I'm not looking forward to it, but at least she lives thousands of miles away instead of next door. I don't know how you can put up with it."
"It wasn't my idea, believe me," Bernadette said.
They all spent time complaining about their mother in laws (or future mother in law in Amy's case). She realized that she could do a lot worse than Mary, though she didn't think that Leonard's mother was as bad as Penny made her out to be. Of course, no one had informed Amy that Beverly had once kissed Sheldon. That might have changed her mind on the matter.
Amy had a little too much wine. When Sheldon came to collect her, he put his arm around her to help her back across the hall. She fell asleep as soon as he put her in the bed. He was left alone and he just watched Amy sleep. She was snoring a little, but he couldn't look away.
The guys decided that they would try to make room for a few more nights like that a month. The video games and the time away from their women was a nice break. It looked like Amy had a good time with the girls too, so he didn't feel too guilty. He still loved her more than he had loved anyone.
Amy woke up with a headache. She had to be at her last fitting in an hour, so she hoped some Tylenol, a cup of coffee, and a shower would be enough to get her though. She wished that Sheldon could come with her, but he couldn't see her in the dress.
The week leading up the wedding went by in a blur. Looking back, Amy and Sheldon were both unsure how they got everything done. They had family to pick up from the airport and so many last minute things to get done. It was good that they had both taken the time off and even better that they had a group of loyal friends to help them get everything done.
Suddenly it was the day before the wedding and Amy was getting dressed for the rehearsal and the dinner that followed. Luckily, her friends arranged it so that she and Sheldon could just show up. Howard and Bernadette were picking up Sheldon's mother, grandmother, and sister from the hotel. Junior wasn't coming into town until a couple hours before the wedding. He couldn't get much time off of work.
Amy was dressed in a pink dress with a blue cardigan over it. Sheldon was in a new suit that was different than the one he had purchased for the wedding, but he still looked very handsome in it.
Sheldon saw Amy all dressed and ready to go. He closed his eyes and muttered, "Just one more day."
"What was that about?" Amy asked.
"I'm finding it increasingly difficult to not lock you in the bedroom and have my way with you. I was just reminding myself that I just have to get through tomorrow and I'll be able to do exactly that."
Amy sighed. "Yes. Just one more day," Amy said as she hugged Sheldon.
"Let's go. We have a fake wedding, a tedious dinner, and a night apart to get to," he said.
They went to the church where they ran through the motions of getting married without actually getting married. It was relatively straight forward, but Sheldon still did not look forward to speaking in front of so many people the next day.
Once it was over, they all drove to have dinner together. It was a lot like the bachelor and bachelorette party, but with more family included. It wasn't as tedious as Sheldon thought it might be. Well, other than the hugs. He didn't mind having having his MeeMaw or his mother hug him, but once Leonard and Penny started hugging him, Sheldon wanted to run from the room. Everyone thought he was so changed, but most of that change was reserved for Amy.
In fact, when Sheldon felt a little burdened by all of the social interaction, he found Amy and made her sit in the car with him alone. This, of course, led to a little bit of making out in the backseat of Amy's car. Which, then, led to Amy being very embarrassed when they were caught by Mrs. Cooper who was looking for her son. She just winked at them, but Amy's face burned.
It was too soon when Amy went home alone. Sheldon was spending the night at Howard and Bernadette's house. It was tradition after all that the couple spend the night apart. Sheldon and Amy didn't really want to spend the night apart, but neither their friends nor family would let them stay together.
The apartment was quiet, so Amy put on an episode of Star Trek. She didn't pay much attention to it, but it was enough like Sheldon was there that she didn't feel completely lonely. Amy knew that she should get to bed, but she didn't want to face their bed alone. Instead, Amy pulled out her phone and texted Sheldon.
I miss you already. I don't want to wait another 17 hours to see you again. -A
I miss you too, kid. I love you. At least once those 17 hours are done, I'm not going to let go of you for a full two weeks. -S
I love you, too. I'm in your spot. I think I'm going to sleep here. -A
You are the only person who can get away with that. You have me wrapped around your little finger, and you know it. Still, you should go to bed. -S
Maybe after this episode of Star Trek. -A
I'm watching it too. -S
That was how Sheldon and Amy spent the night before their wedding. They texted back and forth about the Star Trek marathon from separate couches a few miles apart until Amy fell asleep. Sheldon knew that she had fallen asleep in his spot. He wanted nothing more than to take the bus over to his apartment and put her to bed. Instead, he went to bed in Howard and Bernadette's guest bedroom and hoped he would survive his wedding day.
