"Morning Maka, Soul. What's happened? Why's everyone out here?" Blackstar calls out to Maka and Soul seeing the bustling crowd around the mission abord seeing them gossiping, murmuring, conversing with one another.
"Seriously? You haven't heard yet? It's kind of an odd topic right now." Soul tells Blackstar.
"Hahah! I get it everyone's scared of how big of a star I'm becoming." Boastfully, Blackstar cackles.
"Not quite Blackstar. It's nothing to do with you." Soul tells him.
"Eh?" Surprised, Blackstar exclaims as he is filled in.
"In the heart of the scorching Egyptian desert, there's an ancient ruin known as the pyramid of Anubis. You will find a witch, a necromancer. She's raised a great number of the dead in a tomb in the pyramid. Every night she leads out these mummies to feed on human souls. A necromancer is difficult, her first set of mummies will then create another set which in turn will create another until she eventually has an entire army of mummies. I was originally thinking of assigning this to a three-star meister to this one." Truthfully, Death tells Kid and the twins.
"Don't worry dad I can handle this myself." Resolute, Kid assures him.
"I'm sure but just make sure you come back, you know how your mother worries." Sighing, Death exclaims concern laced in his tone making Death sighs slumping his shoulders.
"She worries too much honestly, I'm not a child anymore." Annoyed, Kid grumbles, he loves his mother he does he just wishes she wasn't such a worrywart.
"You will always be her child Kid why else do you think she called you that?" Cheekily, Death reminds Kid who grumbles, a faint ruby red to his cheeks making the twins behind him giggle.
"I…urgh I'll see you send mother my regards." Politely, he bows his head to his father.
"Of course." Death nods as Kid ends the call turning to leave, joyous at the thought of going to Egypt to enjoy the architecture.
"So what do you guys think? Anyone else want to go find out who took on the big mission?" Soul questions Blackstar.
"Yeah course I do. Whoever this guy is he's a real show-off he thinks he can make a bigger reputation than mine." Scowling, Blackstar declares.
"Kay then let's get going." Soul smirks.
"Hey wait come back you two!" Maka calls out but it falls to deaf ears as the two boys run away.
"Oh would you just look at the exquisite symmetry!" Stunned, Kid gushes over the temple of Anubis as he lands before them, getting off his flying Beelzebub skateboard, using his power to make it disperse as the two twins revert to their human form.
"Urgh all that time in weapon form makes my back ache like crazy." Groaning. Liz stretches her back.
"That thing's huge!" Patty gasps.
"I can do without all this dust." Death grumbles taking out his handkerchief covering his mouth.
"Let's go inside then!" Patty declares.
"Are we sure we want to do this? This place gives me the creeps." Shaken, Liz grimaces.
"It's okay I'm sure we'll be fine let's go!" Patty beams brightly leading the way.
"My eyes itch. Wow it's perfect on the inside too!" Grumbling, Kid furrows her brow as he places his handkerchief over his mouth trying to cover his mouth only then once he goes inside after admiring the outside of Anubis for him and his guns to enter the pyramid, gushing in awe of the interior design.
"I hate it here! I don't do well in dusty places." Petrified, Liz whispers, glancing anxiously from side to side as they roam through the narrow hallway of the pyramid.
"Hey sis I've been wondering something how come everyone closes their eyes when they sneeze, is it to keep their eyes from popping out of their heads? Do you know?" Curious, Patty ponders curiosity laced in her tone unfazed by it all contrasting her scaredy-cat sister.
"I don't know Patty but that's certainly one theory that could explain it, of course, it could be an involuntary reaction triggered by normal brain activity." Liz offers her hands-on Patty's shoulders.
"Hm maybe I can do a test next time I have a cold by taping my eyelids open." Excitedly, Patty smiles.
"Yes but what if your theory is true and your eyes do pop out?" Liz argues.
"Okay yeah, you might be right there big sis! You're so smart!" Softly, Patty smiles at her sister.
"Kid what's wrong with you? You've been quiet for a long time now." Liz notes furrowing her brow at the eerie silence from Kid.
"Well uh…maybe it's my imagination. This horrible feeling that the painting I have hanging in my living room is lenaing a little bit to the right." Horrified, Kid reveals shaken genuine stress marred upon his facial features his hands on his cheeks, stressing himself out.
"Does that stupid painting really matter right now!?" Angrily, Liz roars at him.
"Yes of course it matters! What should I do!? I can't do this! I can't wait I have to go back and make sure…" Scowling, Kid argues turning to leave.
"Hey, hey! Hey! There's a limit to the insanity I can put up with you." Fed up, Liz grabs Kid by his shoulder beginning to drag him.
"I'm worrying about it I'm worrying about it." Wailing, Kid whimpers as he continues chanting it horrified on his butt as he is dragged.
"Hahaha!" Happily, Patty smiles.
"Don't worry I won't let you worry!" Scowling, Liz snaps at him angrily.
"I'mworryingi'mworryingi'mworryingi'mworrying." Frantically, Kid chants, whimpering.
"Shut up! You spoiled brat! Ahh it's a mummy! Mummy! Mummy! Mummy!" Fed up, Liz scowls only then to scream out to the high heavens when a group of mummies appear before the two, letting Kid go out of fear.
"Uh…hey they are kinda cute aren't they? Heh, heh…" Uneasily, Liz tells herself trying to find some way to help her deal with them.
"Mummy licked me mummy licked me! Mummy slather! How could this happen to me!? It's time to transform Patty!" Disgusted, Liz cries out as one of the mummies lick her making her scream. She turns her back to the monsters prying them off her as she crosses her fingertips praying, begging for aid, tears in her eyes. She squirms from the coat smeared upon her while Patty giggles happy to let the monsters grab her, licking her slightly. She giggles at this form of a game for the blonde, happy for the creatures to take her, thinking of it as some sort of game until Liz takes a step back scowling at them.
"Okay!" Patty transforms into a gun which Liz catches.
"Hey, Kid let's…Kid?" Confused, Liz calls out her brow furrowed to see the smallest of the two gone, confusing them both when suddenly a small piece of paper flutters before them. Liz grabs hold of it as her blues dilate in horror at the letter given to them.
Dear Liz and Patty
I'm still worrying about it. Nothing you can say will help. I'm going back home at once to check on the painting. Watch your step it's dark in the pyramid.
Death the kid.
