During Shade's travel time he received a message notifying him that he landed an interview with the daycare center as breeder, it seems like his resume has convinced them to give him a chance, and that is all he wanted right now. He will do everything in his power to get this job, because it is one of the main things that will help him get his life started again, he gets a steady income and he can look into purchasing a starter from them, he might even get an employee discount.

One thing Shade noticed once he reached Slateport city after three days of travel, is the great difference between the game and the real pokemon world is the number of houses in the city, it is filled with houses, motels and places for people to stay, However he is not interested in living in a big city, he was sure to find some place to stay in the nature near the daycare. With that in mind he set in his journey towards the daycare.

During his stay he saw many kids age having pokemon battles which really triggered his trauma and reminded him of the professor's crime, he really really wanted to kill that damn professor, but he soon put these thoughts aside and continued his trek towards Mauville city, he opened his poketch to send a message to the daycare city hoping to schedule his interview tomorrow, he didn't want anybody to beat him to the job and he really wanted to get his life going again, he spent most of his life caring for pokemon and spending his time with them, and he can't stand the itch forming in his mind because he was around none.

Shade reached the Mauville city around the evening time and he dashed directly towards the area that houses the daycare, and started asking around for a place available for rent in the area, and this time luck was on his side as there was a small one bedroom furnished cottage available near the water. And while the owner was asking for a relatively high rent, it was the perfect arrangement for him. He paid the owner for a 3 month rent and started to settle in. and as if life wanted to get him some closure, the daycare owners sent him a message before he went to sleep, scheduling his interview at 1:00 pm in the afternoon. He slept that night with a small smile on his face as hope started to make its way to his heart. Things might get better eventually and he will get his revenge.

He woke up that night to the sound of a stampeding herd, he looked around him and noticed he was back in his old home, and as fast as it came, the scene changed to a fire breathing Gyarados and an Empoleon with a hyper beam forming in his mouth. However this time Hyper Beam was shot toward him and not the house. Suddenly, he woke up to his screaming voice, and realised sadly that this type of nightmare is going to be too frequent until he gets some closure. He then looked at the watch noticing it was around 4 am in the morning, he layed back on the bed and stared at the ceiling, he started thinking about what has happened so far. The professor's actions have really screwed up his life. He killed his father, destroyed their farm with all the pokemons in it, put him in a coma for over 2 weeks and generally destroyed every piece of his life. That morning was the first time Shade really cried after the incident, he spent a long time sobbing, and if you listened closely you could have heard him screaming "I will kill you Rowan" multiple times.

When Shade noticed the sun had illuminated the room, he got up from his bed and started stretching. And since there were no Tauros to feed and let loose in the morning, he decided to start doing some exercises. Of course he can't do anything hard since his body is still recovering from Toxicroak's punch, but he still needs to keep himself busy if he doesn't want to go crazy.

After he finished his exercises, he decided to go into the city to get some groceries before going to his interview. And while preparing himself to go out, he thought that he was really going crazy because he saw his Shadow moving.

At 1:00 pm exactly, Shade found himself sitting in a side room at the daycare center waiting for his interview. His waiting didn't last long as an elderly man wearing a long black rope walked into the room, greeted him and sat down at the other end of the table smiling at him.

"Hello" the old man started, "Welcome to our daycare center, my name is Ross Read and I am the owner of this daycare. Nice to meet you"

Shade: "Nice to meet you also mr. Reed"

Mr. Reed: "Well Shade, let's start this interview with the most intriguing part of your resume to me, which is the lack of a last name. I was about to throw your resume out when I saw it, but considering we need all the help we can get, I decided to give you a chance"

Shade laughed in a nervous manner, and thought of an excuse quickly and said: "Sorry about that Mr. Reed, I prepared the resume quickly and forgot to double check it. My name is Shade Phoenix"

Mr. Reed: "Well Shade Phoenix, this is an interesting name indeed, and you are from Sinnoh as your resume states, right ? "

Shade: "yes sir, that is right"

Mr. Reed: "alright, tell me about your breeding experience, and why have you decided to apply for work with us"

Shade: "Well Mr. Reed, I have been helping my father with his Tauros farm since I was 6 years old. Which includes taking care of the pokemon from dusk to dawn, caring for the sick ones and mixing their food to enable healthy and well growth. I can't claim such knowledge on the other species, but I assure you I will be able to learn it all in a short time. As for the reason why I came here and applied to your center, it because after my father died, some of out close relative came and took over the farm claiming that they were there to take care of me and the farm. And since I couldn't fight them, I decided to get a new start in a new region."

Shade really hated lying to Mr. Reed, especially since he guessed they would be working closely if he got the job. But it is better than telling him that he was a mad man on a journey for revenge, Right ?

Mr. Reed looked at him while thinking his words over and then said: "Well Shade, I really Like your attitude, and you seem to have some knowledge. However the fact remains that you have no proven experience and I don't think I can verify who you are. But I will take a chance on you, I will give you a 3 month internship with minimum pay. After that, if you prove yourself to be good at the job, we will hire you for good and discuss your fair compensation then, deal ? "

Shade thought about his offer long, with the money he has left and the pay he can make things work for the internship time, and he had no worries about being good at the job because he has been doing this for most of his life. He accepted the offer and agreed with Mr. Reed to start early the next morning and got up to leave.

However Mr. Reed stopped him before leaving and said to him: "By the way, do you know you have a ghost hiding in your shadow ? My Baltoy had sensed him the moment you walked in. However, he can't determine what kind it is. The fact that it hasn't killed you or tried to kill you means that it is interested in you. Now I don't know what you happened to make the ghost intrigued by you, but i suggest that you try to befriend it"

Shade was shocked, a ghost following him in his shadow. That would explain why he saw his shadow moving this morning. In his shock, he just nodded to Mr. Reed and left the daycare.

Shade sat down in his house and stared at his shadow, he took Mr. Reed's advice to heart and stopped by the pokemart to purchase a pack of ghost food and some pokeballs. He didn't believe he could catch the ghost, but it doesn't hurt to be optimistic. And after putting a good amount of the ghost food in a bowl, he sat and started to call for the ghost to come forward. Ironically, he was telling the ghost that he wouldn't hurt him.

After about 15 minutes of waiting, Shade noticed something coming out of his shadow. It was a puppet looking pokemon with a sharp horn on its head, the pokemon then proceeded to eat from the food while looking at him with interest.

Shade pointed his poketch on him and proceeded to scan him to figure out what it is. After a while the poketch finished and displayed the pokemons info:

"'Shuppet' the Puppet Pokemon, Shuppet is attracted by feelings of jealousy and vindictiveness. If someone develops strong feelings of vengeance, this Pokémon will appear in a swarm and line up beneath the eaves of that person's home. This pokemon is a pure ghost type"

Shade now knew why this pokemon decided to follow him, it was because of his strong need to get revenge on Rowan, he stared the pokemon and said to it: "Hey Shupper, you like that food", as an answer the pokemon just nodded his head. why don't you join me, there is a lot where that came from, and I know you like the negative thoughts I am broadcasting. And believe me when I say that there are a lot of those also. If you like me now, you will love me early in the morning when I wake up from my nightmares. This pokeball guarantees that no one will take you away from me and also no one will be able to object to you being with me. So what do you say ?"

Shuppet looked at the pokeball in Shade's hand, and seemed to be convinced by what Shade said, because it flew closer to the pokeball and allowed itself to be sucked in. the pokeball didn't even shake once and just settled immediately. And Shade was beyond himself with happiness. This was the first step in getting his revenge on Rowan, and he will not waste it. He immediately released the shuppet and decided to give him a nickname to tighten their bond. After some consideration he named shuppet after a fictional superhero from his world that shuppet reminded him of. The similarity between the two being that they both loved the thought of vengeance and couldn't contain it.

He looked at Shuppet and said: "Your name from now is Punisher, and while you may not believe me know, You will kill a Gyarados"
