Hey! I'm here again with another chapter. I just want to let you guys know that it means a lot to me that you're still reading this story despite my slow updates

I have been busy lately and working on my other novel projects to be published as paperback or as an E-book. Needless to say, you can't rush art if you want quality work. Also, been playing Doki Doki Literature Club Plus and I am NOT okie-doki! Other than that, MK11 is dead now unless we just play Tower of Time and I'm never getting Reptile in the game, am I?

I might as well ask if a friend of mine if they could do an MK dating sim hehehe~

I also can't wait for the sequel for Scorpion's Revenge where I saw D'Vorah getting bodied in the trailer. If she dies, I'm gonna replay the scene over and over again XD

Oh well, at least we are at the final stretch of this battlefield!

Chapter 60

I can't believe this is happening right now!

"Raiden must be blind to not see that you are pathetic!" Shao Kahn laughed as his grip on my throat tightened. I was about to kick him when he tossed me aside like a rag doll. Shao Kahn summoned his hammer, which I would say was bigger than mine.

I am completely screwed!

In the midst of chaos, the army was chanting Shao Kahn's name as if he is their Great Benefactor of this realm. After what I know and was told by my friends, Shao Kahn's goal was to merge all the realms together and rule with an iron fist.

I wanted to wield both Kotal's weapon and my hammer but both of my arms seemed to be numb. Shao Kahn laughed again.

"Honestly, your sister put up more of a fight than you! It's unfortunate that Osh-Tekk fool had to cut in."

That's where I noticed a gaping wound on his side. Riana did that? So that means she's still alive! I want to confront Shao Kahn but the tyrant himself was about to turn me into fresh ground meat if I don't move out of the way!

The army around us was beginning to close in. I could hear Kristina screaming, the strangled cries from both Reptile and Ermac along with Erron Black's gunfire in the background. Let's not forget the rain of daggers coming down on us as well as the chill in the air.

Shao Kahn, let me tell you, is a hulking giant compared to me! Seeing him this up close made me realised that I might not survive this. If I die, then so will my friends!

"Come at me, boy!" Shao Kahn taunted. "You want to go back home to your realm?"

I didn't say anything but a loud speech almost threw me back. It was Sindel, floating above us. Her hair extended to grab Shao Kahn by the neck dragging him to her level. The emperor only smirked.

"So, my beloved wife decided to betray me," he sneered. "Here you are siding with the rebels. So are my enforcers and my beloved daughter."

"All you have said to me was a lie!" Sindel shrieked, her sound waves creating aftershocks on the ground. It was enough to cause a few people to have bloody ears. I covered mine since I don't want the other one to go completely deaf too!

It was a fight between 'husband' and 'wife', which made me realised that I will have to help the others to lessen the army.

Despite getting double-teamed, Shang Tsung was still summoning undead warriors from the ground. I guessed with Quan Chi dead and Noob Saibot rehabilitating at the Lin Kuei, he will be the one to perform necromancy.

I scrambled to my feet to try and ward off most of the undead army with my hammer. If Reptile and Ermac are going to kill Shang Tsung, then his spell on raising the undead army will diminish.

A cold breeze suddenly froze over the undead army as Sub Zero leaped from his dragon. In fact, there were a few Lin Kuei members and their dragons hovering in the sky resembled dark clouds that covered the sky's natural sunlight.

Amongst them was Frost, who wore a pristine blue and white outfit with a matching mask as she ploughed her way into enemies. She is the most hotheaded Lin Kuei member I know and I don't think I ever want to get along with her. I can say that she's on par with Kristina on having the temper.

Because I value my life, thank you very much!

"So," Shao Kahn huffed as he chopped Sindel by the throat and then tossing her aside like a ragdoll, making me pissed off. "Many of my subjects betrayed me for one of my generals who is the last of his race. How pathetic!"

With brutish strength, he began to swing his hammer, knocking a few of the Shokans and Tarkatans, who were on our side. I'm starting to doubt myself about the whole situation at the moment.

I gotta help Kitana and Jade with this!

Both Kitana and Jade were running with fury as they both tried to attack Shao Kahn at once. I couldn't blame them since Kitana was told a lie since she was a girl about who her father was. Now, Sindel could be dead from how Shao Kahn fought her.

But the former Edenian queen was not backing down.

From the side glance as I noticed was going to do her iconic scream but instead, she was coughing out blood. The more she tried, the more her voice became hoarse.

"Mother!"

"Do you think I would let you fight me with your voice, woman?" Shao Kahn taunted. "I hope that will silenced you!"

Before Shao Kahn could swing his hammer, a sai intercepted his hand. Mileena somersaulted to land in front of the tyrant. "Daddy, stop it!"

I was ready to defend these Edenian ladies with my life. They have helped me and saved me so much ever since my arrival in Mortal Kombat. The least I could do is help them to show my appreciation.

"Mileena, stand down," Shao Kahn ordered her. Mileena was hissing at her father like an irate cat. Clearly, this whole situation is difficult for her now that I think about it.

"Daddy, I'm not letting you hurt her or anyone here. If you are, you will have to kill me first!"

I can't really tell if Shao Kahn really cares about Mileena since I have played most of the Mortal Kombat games. Then again, things are different now that the five of us are here.

However, Shao Kahn's response was short-lived when something pierced him from behind. It was Azril, calm as ever but was armed with multiple daggers under his long sleeve. Despite being pierced by multiple daggers, Shao Kahn doesn't seem fazed by it.

"This is for breaking my legs," said Azril with an icy edge in his tone. Get it?

I swear, Azril really looked like a hitman in that long-sleeved grey top, black pants and a midnight blue jacket that must be where he stored his extra daggers.

Only thing missing was a pair of sunglasses.

"No matter," Shao Kahn chuckled before throwing off Azril. "Once this is done, I can get a new wife and make a new daughter for myself!"

My mind was scrambling to fend off Shao Kahn now that he really pissed off the Edenians and apparently Azril despite him not expressing anything from his poker face. Kristina was still in the bloodbath with Erron Black and some Lin Kuei members to fend off Shao Kahn's army.

Have I mentioned before that some of the Lin Kuei's dragons are toasting the undead army?

Still, I don't know what's taking Bryan so long or where my sister is. I just hope the both of them are still alive from this chaos.

...

3rd P.O.V

Bryan knew this was a suicide mission.

Not only was he infiltrating the Black Dragons to disabled their technology, his suit was getting low on power which needs to be recharged. Meaning, he has to sneak past the army unarmed without his suit.

He really wished that he could go home sooner or later.

Nobody wants him around and the people here are Negative Nancies according to him. Whelp, if this doesn't get people to notice his effort then nothing will. He has always been shadowed despite living the life of luxuries and riches.

"Nash better be grateful that I am doing this so that he could do the easy job," he muttered to himself. "Sending little old me to deal with all the technology and computers. Then again, maybe I can get away from the dirty bloodshed."

"Bryan," he heard Cassie Cage's hissed whisper through the comms. "Stop bitching about what you're doing. You wanted this, right? You want to go home and never come back?"

"Of course! This world is crap to me! Who in their right mind except Riana and Kristina, would want to stay here?!"

"Focus! Can you seen anything on your end?"

Bryan scanned the area he was in. It was away from the battlefield and he assumed these men were either refuelling or waiting for orders from Kano. What made the youngest Disciple disgusted was not only were their outfits looked like they came from the ghetto, they seemed to be having fun with little girls who might be younger than Bryan's own age!

Speaking of the Black Dragon leader, he was not on the battlefield so he must be here.

He hoped that Kano was at least here because he would love to reprogram that laser eye of his as well as most of the technology. From what he learnt at the Special Forces, the Black Dragon not only deal with nuclear weapons but their technology was far superior.

However, Bryan has standards when it comes to people despite the fact that the Black Dragon has the greatest toys he could meddle with!

In fact, why just disabled the weapons when he could rewire some of the technology for his own sake?

Oh, it was so tempting but Bryan knew that he needs to get the job done. With induced anxiety, Bryan miraculously found the secret stash that holds most of the weapons. He reported to Cassie via the comms while he began his work.

When he was a kid, his parents would bring him to every social events, parties and gatherings where he would receive praises on how he is a Little Einstein with such extend knowledge for his age. It was then his parents decided to move him two grades ahead when he entered school.

All his life, everyone knows him to be the child prodigy but it can be exhausting!

If it weren't for Nash and Kristina, Bryan would have his childhood robbed before he could reach eighteen.

"Cassie, I'm detecting a few nuclear reactors here," Bryan whispered, feeling his bones rattle in fear. "I guess he really is going all out in this fight."

"Or for himself, knowing him," Cassie muttered. "Jesus Christ on a bike...He's going to go World War 3 on us! See if you could disabled the reactors besides the technology."

Admittedly, Bryan has never gotten close to any nuclear-related technology before. He has read about it and seen documentaries. It's an exciting challenge for him but a risky one. Then again, he's not the one doing the slaughtering outside of the battlefield compared to his friends.

"Alright but you'll have to pay for my chemotherapy bills if I get cancer out of this."

"I thought you are cancer."

"No, I'm an Aquarius, Cassandra Cage. You deal with your so called toy soldiers and Jacqui while I handle this. I'll report back to ya if I succeed or else you can donate my body to science."

"More like the asylum," Cassie remarked from the comms. "Get back to me as soon as you're done."

Bryan rolled his eyes, thinking how everyone will be screwed if it weren't for him. He found one of the reactors and decided to disable the power before he could do the same with the weapons. By having the Black Dragons weaponless, it might give Nash and the others an edge to win this war.

If they win this war...

"What do you think you're doing?"

Bryan immediately snapped his head and wanted to scream. It was a red cyborg just like the mission he, Nash and Azril went to. But he knew who this guy was. Bryan hoped that he could get out of here alive at least.

"Upgrading your weapons," Bryan answered nonchalantly. "You could use one too if you don't want to be the colour of rust, Sektor."

But Sektor only laughed, confident at the little child in front of him. "Do you know how much you are narrowing down your life at this point?"

Bryan said nothing but knew if he made a move on the reactor, Sektor will not hesitate to blow him up.

"I've heard a lot about you, little boy," Sektor continued, preparing his rockets. "You are a wildcard but all I'm looking at is a cowardly boy with a useless suit."

"Hey, it's not useless!" Bryan argued, pushing his fear aside due to being insulted. He doesn't care for the fact that he is going to die. NO one insults his handwork!

Bryan took out one of his fancy gadgets in his pockets, ironically was a soda bottle. Sektor only laughed in amusement, wondering how can a drink of a soda solve anything.

"Oh, I'm not thirsty," Bryan's hands were trembling as he shakes the soda bottle before uncapping it. "You can have it!"

He sprayed the sticky orange drink across the red cyborg's face, watching as Sektor started to fizzle out. Bryan began to kick him away before scrambling away. He hoped the Black Dragons would focus on Sektor rather than him disrupting most of their technology.

"Okay Bryan," he breathed, afraid for his life. "Time to do your handiwork."

He prayed that Kano doesn't find him or anyone for that matter!

"Oy, what do you think you're doing?!" a harsh voice demanded.

Bryan turned his head, his hands becoming numb at who it was. "Fuck my life..."

...

Nash's P.O.V

"Given up yet, boy?" Shao Kahn taunted. I don't know what this guy is made of but he's currently stepping on my neck, making it hard for me to turn or breathe. Is this how I am going to die?

Let's just say he almost performed a fatality streak on Mileena, Kitana, Jade and Sindel had it not been for Azril or his dragon, Visenya.

The oldest Disciple himself was assisting Frost and I think it was Sub Zero from where I was positioned. I struggled to grab both my hammer or Kotal's weapon since Shao Kahn has pinned me down. I could hear the anguish screams of Ermac and Reptile, probably losing their fight with Shang Tsung.

"A poor effort but an effort nonetheless!" said Shao Kahn, ready to smite his hammer down on me and I'm not ready to meet maker. Just then, the weight of Shao Kahn's foot on my neck was loose, making me roll out to get back on my feet.

Apparently, Shao Kahn was getting mauled by a...T-rex?!

"Are you alright, Nash? What happened to your left ear?" a female voice asked, almost made me swing my hammer at the figure. I can't say I recognised this figure since we've never cross paths before. The voice sounded familiar though...

"H-how do you know my name?"

The figure- no, creature tilted her head. It's funny since she's shorter than me but still is a disturbing sight to see: a skull-face mask with horns like those of a dragon-bird, long claws, a sword at the back which was poorly covered by a golden-brown cloak.

"You honestly can't recognise me, little bro?"

My eyes widened and to confirm it, a familiar bearded dragon began to pop his head out over her shoulder.

"Come on, we gotta buy Kotal some time!"

I'm still in dazed at the fact that my sister looked like something out of a monster horror game, where the creatures looked like demons from the underworld. Also, since when does my sister used a sword? What the hell is going on?!

I didn't think too long as I heard screaming coming from Shao Kahn. Apparently, his throat has a gashed mark from the black jaguar, who leaped off and changed back into the fearsome Osh-Tekk warrior. He smiled before extending his arm towards me.

"I believe you have my macuahuitl?"

I passed the saw-like sword without hesitation. It was awesome to see the action between both Shao Kahn and Kotal but I knew that I have to get the Edenian ladies towards someplace safe. I really don't want any of them to die.

Especially Jade and Mileena.

I'm not sure if I have the strength to carry all of them so I might have to make two trips back. One arm was swinging the hammer onto the undead army but I have to run since some of the Black Dragons have been firing all round.

"So," I heard Shang Tsung sneered. "You and your vermin are still alive. And you've stolen the sword of Queen Sytholin?"

"Alive and hungry~" my sister's voice purred. "You're gonna pay for what you put me and my friends through!"

"Now that's my Riana!" I heard Reptile hissed proudly.

I never thought I would hear my sister's tone holding so much confidence and venom. Has something happened to her?

"Hang on," I wished to a bloodied Mileena, who was draped on my shoulders. Jade was secured in my right arm, thankful that the both of them. "I'll get you and Jade to safety."

In our midst, growls, screams and cracking of bones were heard. I know that I'm desensitise to those gores by now but I can never get them out of my head if I close my eyes. I gotta hurry before any one of us gets decapitated.

The ground beneath my feet trembled, I was not ready to look back. I thought Tremor was dead with the Lin Kuei and Visenya freezing him to death. Thankfully, it was none other than Torr, who was running besides me with both Kitana and Sindel on his back.

"We gotta get them somewhere safe before we can resume fighting," I told him. Torr only grunted in response. I bet he's still missing Ferra, wherever she is. My ear was ringing from all the commotion and I could barely hear anything from my left ear thanks to Reptile.

Most prominent sounds I heard were gunshots from Erron Black's revolvers and the roars from the Lin Kuei dragons.

Once Torr and I placed the Edenian ladies somewhere safe so that they could recover, we resumed our battle. I was busy fending off the Black Dragons, who began to fight us tooth and nail since their weapons are pretty much useless.

I have a feeling it was due to Bryan. I hoped he's okay...

"You will not conquer anymore realms!" the booming voice of Kotal almost made the ground shook. His body paint was starting to glow blue and then weird-looking totems were emerging from the ground.

"You think you could defeat me?" Shao Kahn panted, he was bleeding profusely. "I am Shao Kahn! I can never be defeated by the likes of you, Osh-Tekk fool!"

Most of our groups were either exhausted, dead or barely alive with the attacks going on.

"I am aware of that, Shao Kahn," I heard Kotal chuckling. "I'm not going to be the one to finish you. I would as Earthrealmers say: soften you up for the blow."

In a flash, a crackle of lightning appeared, almost blinding me from seeing what's going on. Let's just say that the tortured screaming were enough to let me know what's going on. All I could do now was shield my eyes due to the blinding white light.

Is this it? Is it over now?

No one was cheering. There was only silence and slow breathing. I think we all need to recover before anything could happen.

I was tackled roughly by someone, which I flipped them over. It was none other than Kristina.

"So, battle's over, Shao Kahn's been fried and Shang Tsung has been torn apart like a piece of paper," Kristina began. "Now what?"

I sighed, giving my friend a shaky smile. I just realised that Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn were the reason that we are here and now they are dead.

"I don't know, Kris...I don't know..."

Guys, aren't you forgetting someone? No? I like how Bryan happens to have orange soda on him when he's 'fighting' Sektor XD

Fun fact, besides the Disciples are based around people that I know, their personalities are from their chosen zodiac signs!

Kristina: Aries

Nash: Scorpio

Riana: Sagittarius

Azril: Capricorn

Bryan: Aquarius

Don't worry, next chapter is going to be sweet and spicy~ Especially the spicy scenes I have in mine!

Hope you enjoy it!
