ScareS 3, Sonadow (Part 2)

Back in their home, Shadow sat on the couch and simply laughed. He held his tummy, that started to hurt from all the laughter.

"So, I guess he bought it?" He looked up and at the white bat, who stood in the door frame of the kitchen. She probably came through the back door, that Sonic hadn't closed in his haste to run away.

"Flawlessly, thanks to your requisites." "Happy to help, but wasn't that a little too much? I mean, his pranks never gave you almost a heart attack.," she questioned.

"Wasn't this your idea?" "Well, your habit to drink this tomato juice, the fact, that you're the Ultimate Lifeform and this little incident during a GUN-mission, that you didn't want anyone to hear about, helped me to get the idea, so don't blame me. I'm only saying, that your act has even scared me, and I was involved. Now, the answer to my question?"

"It'll be fine. He'll be sour for a while, ignore me for a week, bunk with Tails for a month and play at least a dozen pranks on me, his friends for sure all helping. He maybe sics Amy on me. In about three months, I'll be forgiven. You on the other hand...well, he won't be too happy to be around you for a while, but you aren't this close anyway." He shrugged.

"And for how long will you sleep on the couch for this?" "About a year, if I can't seduce him otherwise.," the dark agent grinned, stood up and fished for the Chaos Emerald in his quills. "Anyway, I better catch him, before he actually finds someone, who believes this nonsense about vampires. By the way, how did you manage to get the mirror to not show my mirror image? Where did you get this book? How did you get Sonic to read it of all the ones in the box? And why should I make my move, when you told me to?" He pulled out the little earpiece with his free hand, through that they had communicated, while he asked her this.

"Oh, easy. When I dumped my stuff here, he was making himself some chilidogs for a snack and I slipped a little something in his meal..."

Upon seeing the less-than-amused glare of her partner, the bat smiled. "Nothing harmful. Just a drug, that zaps his strength a little bit, a while after it had been swallowed. I guessed the right time, when it would take effect, so that you would be the stronger and faster one and told you the right moment to act as vampire. It didn't last long, though, he managed to kick you off, after all. As for the book, I have contacts. I can simply call one of my old friends, tell him, that I need a book about this and that with some details especially included and 24 hours later, I'll have it, no questions asked." "And how did you get Sonic to read this book?"

Rouge grinned, walked over to the couch and picked said book up, showing it to him. "Look at the author.," she said.

Shadow did and smirked. The author was called "Sonicus". Of course, everything, that had 'Sonic' in its name, got his attention quite well, even a book. "Alright." He found the Chaos Emerald and held it up. "And the mirror?"

Rouge winked and placed a finger closer to her lips. "Ah ah ah, Shadzy, a magician isn't allowed to tell anyone about his tricks.," she grinned.

Shadow rolled his eyes with a muttered 'Girls'. "Whatever. I think, I have found Sonic's Chaos Energy. Coming?," he asked, extending his free hand towards her.

"Coming between two hedgehogs with super speed? Nah, I rather clean up here and put my stuff in the truck I parked around the corner. Just call me, when he has settled down a little and I'll help explain everything." "Good plan. Oh, and Rouge?" "Hm?" "Thanks for your help, really, I appreciate it." "Think nothing of it.," the bat waved him off and with a small smile, the hedgehog disappeared.

Once he was gone, the bat snapped her fingers and all objects belonging to her got transported to her home. Her fur turned black and her eyes changed to a dark red.

And as if she was still talking to Shadow, she said in the empty room, before she left the house,

"Us immortals have to stick together, right?"
