"Happy puking I guess that's another thing I'll never understand…" Stein sighs craning his neck back looking up at the bright blue sky seeing the fluffy white clouds flying by high in the sky. His brow furrowed after watching the squealing Spirit after the blushing meek Maka had asked her father to hang out wih her resulting in his puking form, spewing out his innards oblivious to the real reason behind being asked that being a certain bet that Maka despite not agreeing to being a leader had to make good on.

"I don't think I'll ever understand humans…" Quietly, the young boy sits down cross legged as he has a book in his hand, his greens glued to the woman by his side, underneath soft shade of the rustling tree towering above them, reading her own book before his ears perk up at the low chuckle emitting from her lips.

"What happened this time?" Amused, Ava smirks gently slamming the book shut, placing it down on her lap as her glistening gold meet his tired confused green.

"A girl confessed to me." Annoyed, the young boy's greens narrow irritation laced in his tone.

"Oooh who?" Mischievously, Ava's gold glistens, a small shine shimmering in her eyes.

"Don't know, she started crying when I asked who she was then she got angry I assumed it was wounded pride but everyone kept giving me these looks as if I were the bad guy, I only stopped what was going to be a waste of both our times." Tensely, the young Stein sneers scowling.

"Love is a fickle thing to humans let me tell you this Stein I have lived for thousands of years, millennia, centuries even and I still have no single clue on humanity. Humans can be both cruel and kind they are fickle creatures that do more harm then good in the world." Honestly, Ava confesses to Stein stating the fact of the matter.

"Then why keep them around?" Annoyed, Stein snaps scowling frustration etched in his tired tone.

"How would I know? I'm no god." Ava chuckles shaking her head at him.

"Aren't you? You're immortal aren't you? Not to mention the numerous texts varying from folklore to tales about you." Stein reports making Ava grimace glancing to the side sighing.

"Maybe…I don't really know don't really want to think about it you know? As for the folklore bit you do have a point, I have been on earth longer than most meaning I have had many names." Shyly, a small smile crosses Ava's lips at the fact.

"Why continue to live then? Why continue to hurt yourself?" Fed up, Stein questions pestering her seeing her look up at the bright blue sky, his greens widening when seeing the faint shimmering shinning sheen in her glassy golds looking up at the sky, a strained smile upon her lips.

"To punish myself." Anguished, Ava smiles strained smiling up at the shimmering shining sun laughing, smiling.

"Punish. Why?" Perplexed, Stein queries confused lost noting her grip tightening around her book, her nails scraping against the cover of the book.

"For the person most precious to me that I let down, that I couldn't save…" Sadly, Ava bows her head, closing her eyes solemnly, a still silence resonating in the air as the two continue looking out at the sun slowly descends down.

"Ava…" Death calls out to the woman turning to jolt up at the voice.

"Hm?" Ava hums snapping out of her thoughts turning to look up at him.

"This demon sword your input would help me consider what to do with them." Death tells Ava.

"Am I detecting a hint of bias?" Teasingly, Ava chuckles amused leaning back slightly.

"Well you are my wife what do you expect?" Death questions confused, brow furrowed.

"Nothing but bias love." Cheekily, Ava winks at her husband snickering.

"So what do you think?" Death turns to look down at Ava as he turns to sit down by her side, him obviously towering over her.

"Honestly? Give the kid a chance it isn't easy being the child of a witch. Witches are born with madness in them sure like everyone else but witches…they are more prone to it, they can get into your brain and make you do things. You have no idea what is good or bad nor grey, everything you do is for her, for them…" Truthfully, she confesses to her husband, her golden hues softening sadly.

"Ava…" Gently, Death places his hand on her shoulder.

"That kid is her own child but witches feel no familial blood they can give it sure but that doesn't mean they feel t…all they see the child is a means to an end, a test subject someone who if they were born with magic could be of use. But if not just another Guinea pig for their game…" Disgusted, Ava crosses her arms over her chest, her brow furrowed.

"Um excuse me…" Shyly, Sid calls out making them turn towards him.

"Sid?" Ava arches a brow at the sight of the zombie.

"You put it off before but we should talk about the demon sword." Sid tells the two sharing a look.

"Alright then I made up my mind we'll enrol them into the academy!" Happily, Death reveals.

"Seriously?" Stunned, Sid says shocked taken aback.

"Yes of course seriously. Really, not joking that's my decision. The kid has some major issues which we will have to deal with I know but if we guide them carefully enough. They could become a excellent ally for the DWMA we could really use someone like him on our side right now." Optimistically, Death explains to the shocked Sid.

"I understand but he is still in no condition to enrol in classes." Worried, Sid points out.

"I agree with you that's why we'll move slowly. His trail in the academy begins tomorrow!" Excitedly, Lord Death declares, excitement laced in his tone as he declares said fact bringing a small shy smile to Ava's lips as she bows her head, shaking her head at him, a small snicker escaping her lips from her husband's animated antics.

"You…puked?" Perturbed, Ava's gold hues narrow as they gaze into a pair of bright beaming blue, Spirit smiles grinning giddily from ear to ear at the honestly rather worried Ava as she and Spirit converse with one another in the hallway.

"Yep." Spirit smiles boasting about it almost making Ava's eyes narrow at Spirit's strange antics, she knew her friend was strange but this…this was one of those times that she felt like she never could understand him, similar to how she truly felt at times with humanity in whole having no clue what to make of them sometimes, Spirit being a prime example of that.

"I heard of happy crying heck I did it just a moment ago but puking? That's another level of dramatics I'll never achieve." Ava sighs shaking her head at him.

"Only cause you don't care about your son enough." Boastfully, Spirit proclaims making Ava's eyes narrow.

"Seems more like my relationship with my son is more secure than yours if I don't react in such a extreme degree." Fairly, Ava points out only to falter from Spirit's sniffle bowing his head, head in between his legs sniffling whimpering like a kicked puppy.

"You…you're cruel you know that!?" Hurt, Spirit wails snot dangling down his nose making her grimace at the sight.

"Why are you even telling me this?" Perplexed, Ava ponders perplexed by her friend.

"…Cause." Spirit shyly stares down at his fidgeting fingertips only further perplexing Ava.

"You wanted to try to one up on me didn't you when it came to parenting didn't you?" Tiredly, Ava sighs slumping her shoulders catching onto her friend's feeble motive as a still silence lingers in the air.

"…Maybe." Meekly, Spirit confirms.

"God you're pathetic." Ava groans placing her hand to her head.

"Shut up! You have no idea what it's like having a strained relationship!" Hurt, Spirit wails.

"Yeah It's not like you brought it on yourself for cheating." Curtly, Ava deadpans.

"Hey a man has needs sometimes okay?" Spirit stomps his foot down on the ground.

"I don't have time for this I got to see Crona soon." Sighing, Ava shakes her head at him turning to leave.

"Oh yeah the new kid you're showing them around?" Spirit perks up.

"Along with Maka of course." Smugly, Ava adds.

"Maka!" Alarmed, Spirit gasps, opening his mouth only to be swiftly silenced by the forefinger to his temple.

"Don't even think about it, that ball of anxiety does not need a perv like you around." Annoyed, Ava deadpans lightly flicking him in the forehead.

"Y-You're cruel you know that!?" Whining, Spirit reels back cradling his sore stinging temple.

"I'm sure now if you'll excuse me…" Politely, Ava turns her back to Spirit and leaves only the to furrow her brow sighing as she leaves him.

"You can't stand it can you? It's not good to hold back…you want to cut everything to pieces don't you? You want to understand don't you? That child I made…" Mockingly, Medusa whispers in Stein's ear perched upon his lap, whispering softly in his ear.

"Stop…" Seething, Stein snaps pushing her back jolting up, the chair being tossed to the side as it comes crashing down on the floor.

"You're infected by the kishin's insanity don't resist hurry and become the sort of man I like after all she's out of the ballpark for you isn't she?" Smugly, Medusa stands no longer in her doctor attire.

"SHUT UP!" Snarling, Stein seethes twitching from the sore spot as he turns to toss his chair at her only to falter when his green meet a pair of gold but they seem different, the gold don't gleam, don't shine, don't shimmer the tint of gold seems more amber like, a different shade entirely, a shallow shade to the gold he is accustomed to.

"Can't a girl come and say hello?" Smirking, Ava quirks her head to the side.

"How long have you been there?" Tensely, he demands from her slowly lowering the chair as a still silence echoes in the air as he sees her go silent looking to the side thoughtfully almost as she then taps the side of her head with her nail.

"How long ahs she been in your head?" Tauntingly, she sneers baring her own feral fangs at him making his eyes widen when seeing such demonic implements.

"Who…" Stein's eyes narrow noting her sharp crimson crescent tap impatiently into her head.

"Medusa." Sneering, she answers chuckling hollowly craning her neck to the side.

"Bold of you to assume she's in my head." Stein sneers scowling.

"Please, I saw how close you two were you may act as if it were nothing but I could see it as clear as day." Amused, Ava sneers as she plops herself on the seat Stein steadies.

"Stop…" Stein's fingertips digs deep into the chair lowering his head.

"Hm?" Ava hums, placing her leg over the other.

"I wouldn't have…if you just…" Seething, Stein lowers his head, his nails digging deep into the fabric of the chair shaking, quivering, quaking.

"If I just what? Waited for you please you didn't think you actually had a chance with me did you?" Mockingly, Ava snatches him by the chin.

"…" Glassy green gaze into a pair of cold animalistic amber.

"You were a child, a child who kept pestering me so I helped you that was all it was. What is a mortal to an immortal after all?" Arrogantly, Ava sneers slapping his cheek.

"You…" Seething, Stein slams his teeth together, grinding against them feeling his blood bubble, burn, boil…

"You hate it don't you? You alone drowning in the madness while I have family, I have loved ones, I have those that I know if I die will search for me…but you? Who do you have at the end of the day…? No one." Antagonistically, Ava sneers snarling taunting him.

"Who…are you?" Stein demands grabbing her by the throat.

"Who do you think I am?" Ava cranes her neck up, darting gold gazing up into a pair of glaring green as he slowly but surely leans down, his warm breath brushing against her lips.

"You're not…you're not Ava." Snarling, he reaches down snatching her by her throat.

"…I'm a being of madness. Maybe I am Ava, the one you see, the one you delude yourself into thinking to help cope with this rejection of yours, man how pathetic of a man do you have to be to do that!?" Cackling, she laughs at him as the crisp crunch of bone breaks just as her form fades away within the grey gunk slithering down his hand.

"SHUT UP!" Stein snarls slamming his dirtied hand into the desk below. Shaken, Stein screams, roaring, raising his hands after slamming them down onto the desk before him, swiftly tossing the table over seething snarling, baring his feral fangs out, a look of pure and utter madness plastered upon his frightening facial features…
